So when he gives her the world’s biggest rejection, that’s it–she’s done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable … it–she’s done. Until the sexy, silent, unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer. Of course, it still doesn’t mean he’s interested in her. Or does it?
Sean has done things in life. Bad things. And he’s paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. And no one deserves more good than Shay. The Dirty Deeds Series: Four Letter Word Hit the Spot Bad for You
more
This series has been great, but there is something special about this book. There was so much depth and emotion. You truly get to be a part of someone who is so aware and really gets to understand people. Someone who will fight to the end to protect, love and show someone they are worthy. When you meet someone that is angry or keeps to themselves you might just avoid them or think they are mean. Do you take the time to see why they put up that shield? Understand they may be in so much pain they don’t know how else to deal with it? Understand what has made them lose all hope?
This book has so many elements. Shame, love, friendship, hope, loyalty, forgiveness, family, chemistry and humor. It is like no other book I have read.
Stitch and Shay! LOVED this story! First of all, I love all the characters of Dogwood Beach and I want to go live there with them and work at Whitecaps!
Sean (Stitch) doesn’t feel worthy of love because of his past. Shay does everything in her power to get Stitch to see that he deserves love from her, his kids, and his friends. I love how their story unfolded. It wasn’t what I expected and that’s what I love about J. Daniel’s books. When I start reading them, I CANNOT put them down, even if it means staying up until 3 a.m. because I couldn’t wait to know what happened next with Sean and Shay! (I don’t regret the lost sleep.)
I highly recommend this book and it can be read as a standalone, but you should definitely read Four Letter Word and Hit the Spot first because this entire series is phenomenal!
Bad For You J. Daniels is book Three in the Dirty Deeds series. This is the story of Shayla Perkins and Sean “Stitch” Molina. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so this was a standalone book for me.
Sean is trying to start a better life after getting out of prison and has been working toward doing better. Shay is the opposite of Sean in that she is good and somewhat Innocent to his hard and bad self. Shay was ever thing that Sean could want but knows that he doesn’t deserve someone so good. Shay goes strong and steady on working the walls down that Sean has up to block his feelings.
This was a really good story that is hard to put down! Loved it!
Love is Sacrifice.
First Trouble stole our hearts then Loser made us believe in love again, and now Stitch will have you wanting a hug.
I know I’m going to say the same thing everyone else has been saying about this book, but it’s so true. This book is by far the best book by J. Daniels. Sean and Shayla’s story will leave you feeling that you have been on an emotional roller-coaster. Bad for You is a must read for every J. Daniels fan!!!
Sean has a troubled past that full of a lifetime of low self-worth and insecurities. Shayla is his champion and his light; she is ready to take on all of his demons without thinking of herself. Loved that Sean knew how to handle Shayla’s brother and he helped him with his anger problems. It was refreshing to read about an ex and new girlfriend getting along so well – No Baby Mamma Drama!!!
There were some funny moments between the girls of Whitecaps and the men of Wax mixed in that was awesome to read. Up next is Nate and Jenna’s story, Can’t Wait. Would love to see a novella about Cole and Kali relationship. (Just saying!)
All the hugs for Stitch because he deserves them all so much!!! This story, this love affair, was more than I ever expected and had me alternating from sad tears to tears of joy to tears of anger. Shayla is overflowing with positivity but even she feels the need to back away at times. Stitch (Sean) has lead a life that nightmares are made of, but he keeps trying, even if he doesn’t believe things will ever get better. These two dance around each other, and then we have a great and long drawn out slow burn before everything comes together. Even then, things aren’t easy, but they finally get it, and keep doing their thing, which is the most perfect thing for them <3
Heart-breaking and heart-mending…
I always take a deep breath before diving into a J. Daniels story – I know things are going to get real very quickly and I will need all the oxygen I can get…
The prologue gutted me and I honestly was afraid to go on. Sean as a child, what he was enduring, broke my heart. I could only hope what was to follow would piece it back together. His stoicism, the depth of the pain he held inside, it was almost too much. Until… Shayla. Upbeat, driven, sweet. The perfect foil to coax Sean out of his shell and into a world where warmth and love could happen… Sound flowery? Well, their story was steeped in reality but also showed that dreams could come true. Big dreams. Anything was possible if you put in the work and let yourself be open to it all…
I can’t say how much I loved their story. Adored really. The warmth, the support, the selfless love. The humour that poked its head in unexpectedly endearing places. The secondary characters who were everything… A stellar, stellar read!

Why oh why did I not read Stitch and Shay’s book before this! Holy crap Stitch is everything! I felt my heart bleed for him so many times throughout this book. His past is not one he is proud of, but the man worked his butt off to be better. The thing is no matter what he did, he still saw the guy he once was. Shay saw the good in him and kept talking to him and broke down his walls. Shay is all things! I know she is a character in a book, but she is the good the world needs! She is selfless, loves with her whole heart, and never gives up!
This book! I wanted this story for so long, so I ready don’t know why I didn’t read it sooner. It was incredible! I love the White Caps family so much!
Bad for You is sooo… sooo… GOOD for YOU!!
I loved going back to this series after some time being away from it. J. Daniels has built a world of fun characters that keep you on your toes. The humor within these characters are fun to read. Then there is Sean Molina…. There is something endearing about Sean that draws you in. So, to have him fall in love with Shayla Perkins was pure magic on my kindle.
Shayla has a heart of gold. You just know that you are going to root for Sean to turn is icy heart and melt it for Shayla and her world. The little things he would do for her took my breath away. It was all little things that you know made into a beautiful picture of his true heart before his past turned into something you find out throughout the book.
Know that this book can be read as a standalone. But, it is more fun when you know the secondary characters. This pack of friends will keep you all on your toes!

The Dirty Deeds series keeps delivering the good stuff. I really enjoyed Shayla and Sean’s story.
Bad For You is such a lovely and beautiful story about self loving and selfishness. Sean is a broken man and who can blame him with the childhood he experienced. Never being acknowledged, receiving love and affection. Understandable that he deems himself unworthy and is nothing to anyone. Shayla is a positive and stubborn woman who will go out of her way to help people just because she can and will. Sean sees that. Shayla will do anything in her power to make Sean feel worthy and proud of himself.
These two are terrific and a wonderful couple because of their bantering. Their growing and evolving friendship is filled with so many great moments. Especially around his two beautiful daughters. The other characters from the two previous books appear and delivers laughs too.
This series is just makes me feel good and I’m so excited and ready for Nate and Jenna’s book.
Shalya and Sean are the next in the Dirty Deeds series.
Sean has had the worst life up till he starts working at Whitecaps. He is turning his life around but doesn’t feel worthy of love or anything good in his life. Shalya is fighting her way thru to break down Sean’s walls. She wants him to feel worthy. This book broke my heart and put it back together.
Amazing read Loved it!
“I didn’t need to be a people person. I was still a Sean person.”
When it comes to any book written by J. Daniels, you scramble and do whatever it takes to have it in your hands to devour. She’s definitely one of my ultimate favorite authors and she proves time and again just why. Captivating and breathtaking, this third book in the Dirty Deeds series will undoubtedly make you yearn for so much more even after you’re done reading it. All I know is that this book checked almost every single one of the boxes in what I want in an exceptional and unforgettable romance novel.
If you thought you loved Trouble and Wild in Four Letter Word or Loser and Legs in Hit the Spot—to me, they’ve got nothing on Stitch and Shay. These two just rocked me to the core. No matter how different they were, that blazing chemistry and soul-deep connection they shared was surreal—they’ll make you jealous and crave for the kind of relationship they have.
“I deserve nothin’. Sure as fuck nothin’ good anymore. And that’s not ever gonna change, no matter what the fuck I do, or what you say or what anybody fuckin’ says. I know that now. You need to quit lookin’ at me like I’m worth lookin’ at. I’m not. I’m nobody. I’m nothin’ to nobody.“
Sean “Stitch” Molina has utterly and officially ruined me for anyone and everyone else. He was absolutely everything I’ve ever imagined him to be and more. He was broken, marred by a past no kid, no person deserves to go through ever. The man clearly made my soul weep and he didn’t just break my heart—no, he incinerated it and turned it into ash the more his story unraveled. I wanted to hug him and squeeze him tight forever. After reading this, I think his end goal was to reach out, rip my heart out from my chest, and then fill me up with so much love and hope thereafter. If that was the case, then he truly succeeded. And then some. There’s no question that my love for Sean spans to the ends of this earth.
“He was never shown kindness. He was never taught any morals. He wasn’t guided or tended to. He said it before—he took up space. And still, coming from that, from nothing, Sean had good in him. A lot of it.”
On the other hand, Shayla Perkins is probably one of the happiest, most selfless of characters I’ve read about. She made me fall for her in a snap of a finger. If I loved Sean hard and am borderline close to being obsessed over him, I adored Shay like no other. She made me want to worship the ground she walked on with every single thing she did in this book. Syd and Tori faded into the background the more I got to know this woman. She has the kind of personality and humor and heart that’s just made of gold. There’s no wonder Sean never wanted her to stop talking to him—to stop seeing him. Shay was just beyond amazing and if there was someone who owned and deserved the greatest and most lovable cook of Whitecaps, it would only be this magnificent hair stylist.
“I’ll be his friend. I’ll be whatever he needs me to be. And if that means I have to bury my feelings for him and never, ever act on them, then so be it. Sean’s self-worth matters more to me anyway.”
Good god, I was a hot mess the whole time reading this—sloppy, ugly crying one moment, then ridiculously snort laughing the next. The feels in this book was just out of this world. All of the emotions were jumping off the pages, drowning and engulfing you in them until that very last page. Hell, just reading the prologue, I was already pummeled with so much agony and pain. First chapter in and I was sucked into Stitch’s vortex that I never wanted to get out of—that I never wanted to leave.
“Dogwood Beach wasn’t full of good people. It was full of the best people.”
Bad for You just knocked me completely on my ass. It shredded my heart and soul, then went ahead and mended, soothed and made it all better after. It had me enraptured from cover to cover. It packed the emotional and gut-wrenching punch I never expected from Sean’s story, but at the same time, Shay’s comic relief was ultimately welcomed. She had me giggling from some of the weirdest, funniest and quirkiest things that she said or did. It certainly balanced out the heaviness of the emotions running through my system all throughout.
This has been by far THE BEST and my favorite out of all the books in the Dirty Deeds series. Hell, probably even in all of J. Daniels’ books. And knowing how much I love everything she has written thus far, that’s truly saying something. Bad for You is a story I’m keeping close to my heart, never letting go and won’t ever forget for a really, really long time.
Love this series. Wonderful Story Line. Highly Recommend
I’m going to start this review off by being honest about how Bad for You was a bit slow for me in the beginning. I honestly think it’s me and I only mention it now because if you find yourself in that situation, I urge you to keep going. Otherwise you will miss out on a beautiful story.
There’s always been something about Sean that Shayla couldn’t resist. From the moment he started working with her, she was drawn to him. Unfortunately he turns her down and things get awkward. What she doesn’t know is that Sean shares those same feelings but he’s been trying to keep it hidden. All it takes is for Sean to see Shayla struggling and his resolve is snapped. Now the two must figure out how to become friends while keeping their feelings at bay. But as we all know, that never works.
I did’t expect Bad for You to be as gut wrenching as it was. Sean’s story and his self awareness had my heart hurting. All I wanted to do was wrap him up in my arms and hug him for the rest of my life. It’s clear that Shayla is exactly what he needs. She’s such a bright light and has just a beautiful personality. She’s perfect to help Sean mend. Plus, just like Sean, I adore her fiery side. She had me cracking up.
All the character’s in Bad for You are like one big family. It’s so warm and so welcoming that I can’t help but beg for each and every one of their stories. Their family is what we all strive for. Full of love, support and good times.
If you are looking for a heartbreaking beautiful story that will rip your heart apart but mend it back together, this this is the book for you. I’m pretty sure everyone is going to fall in love with Sean and Shayla.
I am beyond happy and completely in love with this book. This is the J. Daniels I love reading. There is no denying that I did not like the first two books in this series and was wondering where the woman who wrote the Alabama Summer and Sweet Addiction series had gone. But have no fear because she totally killed it with Bad for You. I laughed and cried and my heart exploded with so much happiness while reading this book.
So let me say that I immediately loved Shayla. She so bubbly and funny. I loved how easily she made Sean want to be her friend. It was obvious that Sean was attracted to Shayla despite how much he tried to keep his distance. The friendship between them formed so easily and I really loved how they were there to help each other out. Sean’s background broke my heart as he slowly opens up to Shayla about his past, but Shayla did everything in her power to make sure he knew he was good enough and that he wasn’t worthless. She made sure that his past did not define the man he had worked so hard to become. Before you know it, Shayla worked her way into Sean’s heart and I wanted cry at how beautiful they were together. She gave all of herself to him, investing in his happiness even when it meant giving up her own.
I cannot express how much this book moved my soul and captured my heart. This is by far the best book in the series. Sean and Shayla will weasel their way into your heart. Their love story is one of hope, happiness, love, self-worth, and moving forward. Sean has been through a lot in his past and he a reason to do better and be better and Shayla opened up his eyes to possibility and showed him that he is worth it, that he means something, and he deserves love. This is a must read book. It was so amazing.
6 stars!!! There are some stories you feel deep. When you don’t pay attention to the Kindle percentage or the time left in the chapter. The words just flow and you absorb them like you’re right there, and you’re feeling it all. That’s what this story did for me. Bad for You was an incredible read that broke me a bit and built me back up. I loved Sean and Shayla’s beautiful friendship and building relationship. It was such a wonderful story of hope and healing and it gets all the stars!
This is the third book in the Dirty Deeds series and believe me when I say this book is the holy grail of the series so far. Bad For You made me feel like I did when I was pregnant, with my emotions all over the place. One minute this story had me laughing my head off, then I would be angry, then the tears would flow because my heart ached for Sean (Stitch) and at times for Shayla then my face would hurt from the huge smile I was wearing. Sean is a man who still lives with his past ingrained deep on his heart and soul feeling like he is nothing and not worthy of anything. Sean and Shayla’s story is one that will cut deep and will stay with you for a long time but the laughs and the smiles you are rewarded with along the way will be worth every tear that you shed during their journey. These characters are one that will bury themselves deep under your skin and I will warn you Sean may think he is nothing but this man is EVERYTHING. Shayla is a character that gives off so much light, happiness and positivity that you can’t help but feel the warmth she spreads. Some books leave a lasting impression on you for the better and Bad For You was so opposite to it’s name this story was nothing less than one that was Good For Your Soul.

Wow. Just wow. This was my first J Daniels book, even though I have been meaning to start this series for a while. I seriously need to go back and read the first two books, and I cannot wait for book four either.
What a story. This one is so full of depth and emotion. What a powerful storyline. I absolutely LOVED Sean! That man. Oh my god that man. If anyone deserved a happy ending, it was certainly him. His story was heartbreaking and I could totally relate to Shayla’s reactions as she got to know him, and discovered things about his past. The horrible thing is, that this is so real as well, this stuff happens in real life, and it’s so hard to fathom that human beings can be so horrible to one another.
Shayla was a feisty character and I loved how she stands up for what she knows is true, and what she believes in. She and Sean make an awesome team and its really great watching them figure each other out, and grow together.
All the kids in this book, and the secondary adult characters were awesome too, and really helped shaped the storyline as supporting characters too. I enjoyed the different personalities, and can’t wait to read their stories and get to know them more.
Sean was everything though. Strong. Sweet. Defiant. Full of heart. After everything that gets revealed, to have character as amazing as he does, is one hell of a feat. He’s one of my favourite book boyfriends, I think I have to add him to that list now for sure.
So full of emotion, this book will make you feel. All. The. Feelings.
I loved this so much, and I definitely recommend it.
Shayla and Sean…..sigh…..there are no words for how much I loved these two individuals. J. Daniels made me fall for a fictional character. It takes a great story for my heart to become full invested in the characters lives. My eyes are still red rimmed from crying, My heart still hurts for all that Sean went through growing up, and there is not a tissue left in this house! Bad For You brings a greater emotional depth to the Dirty Deeds series.
Shayla is a sassy hairstylist who is looking to get her business up and running, she’s also a waitress at whitecaps. If you read the first two books in the dirty deeds series, you may already know Shayla has had a long time crush on Sean aka Stitch.
Sean is the cook at Whitecaps. He’s a broody male with a ‘no f*cks to give’ attitude. But underneath the tough guy exterior, this man is fighting the greatest battle of his life.
Throughout this novel, we get an inside look into Sean’s past and the way he grew up. With an alcoholic for a mother and a father that left them, you can probably make an assumption to how Sean grew up, Neglected and in a loveless household. As the years go by Sean’s self-confidence in himself withers away and he finds himself unworthy of anyones love and affection. My heart legit broke for Sean. I was not expecting his story and background to be this tragic and heart wrenching.
My heart started to heal along with Sean’s as Shayla came into the picture. She’s the strength and the love that he never felt worthy of but always wanted. I loved how Shayla wasn’t about the drama, she was only about helping Sean heal and find his own self-worth. Even when ex’s come back into the picture Shayla was genuine and only wanted what was best for Sean even if that means stepping aside so he can have what he always wanted, his family back.
Sean is a very complex character. there are so many sides to this man. This made the novel that much more intriguing, I loved how Shayla slowly peeled back the layers and under each layer was a different hidden emotion. My heart melted, I was a puddle of goo from the start, a legit goner!
I highly recommend this novel to those that love great emotional love story, complex characters, and a true Happily Ever After!
This was a very emotional and touching story about a man who didn’t find himself worthy to anybody or anything. He always thought he was a f*ckup and didn’t deserve anything good in his life.
Sean wasn’t perfect, he made mistakes in life and he paid the price for it, but once he did, he wanted to be a better person, he worked hard and was doing everything in his power to change his life around.
Shayla was attracted to Sean but Sean barely would mutter a word back to her, but she wouldn’t give up on him. Little by little she was breaking down those walls he had securely put up around himself. And Shayla was going to prove to Sean that he was way worth more than he thought he was.
Shayla and Sean’s story was very emotional and very heartwarming. These characters so far have been my favorite from the Dirty Deeds series because this has been a much stronger couple who have gone through way more in life than any of the other couples in this series.
These characters were pretty strong and I loved how Shayla wouldn’t give up on Sean. He meant that much to her.
This was a total page turner for me and I loved every minute and every second of this book.
4.5 Stars
My cherries cried and burst into a hot mess!
It is because this book just broke me in such a good way.
Such a heartbreaking, angsty, loving story.
I just wanted to hug Sean and hold onto him tight. His life has been rough and when he meets Shayla, he comforts her and she in return comforts him as back with his self doubt from his tortured past. A good dose of two broken hearts who help each other find out that love can be possible no matter what.
Great overall character development, storyline and a nice surprise ending that had my cherries popping in excitement.
Loved all these books in this series which can be read as standalones.
