I’m not supposed to crave the drummer of the hottest new rock act or notice his tortured green eyes. I shouldn’t care that he shies away from everyone. I’m a journalist and I have one job to do.
Get the story.
But selling his secrets for tomorrow’s headlines would not only ruin him, it would destroy me. Yesterday, I had a future. Today, I have a choice—career suicide or protect a drummer who … a drummer who hates me.

Wow!
Bad For Me is mind blowing, poetic and intense. I feel like fire is coming from Tobias and Mae when ever they are together. Their intensity is strong, raw and at first scary toxic.
First of all, I want to point out that I haven’t read Shiloh story so I feel there’s missing hole in the first few chapter. Since this book is a stand-alone but interconnected with Lie to Me. You may read that book first but really, after few chapter in and the intensity of Tobias and Mae, I didn’t feel that hole anymore.
Bad For Me is fast pace. Tobias dirty mouth, cruelity sadism dominant is intense. But the feeling of him misunderstand is so strong in me, I keep clenching my heart. Waiting for the other shoes to drop.
Mae… I say she’s strong heroin. Desperate and smart, her strength didn’t come from fighting tooth and nail and be fierce like fire. Oh yes, she’s strong in her acceptance, in the way she look at Tobias, in the way she surrender. In the way she let go of her pride and see the real Tobias.
And when Tobias honesty in what happened to him, Mae strenght to help shoulder some of his pain, it’s amazing to see. His pain and suffering is eye opener for me. Finish it in one sitting, Tobias road from hell to finally able to find the love he’s craving is humbling.
I have never have a book get me conflicted. Lee Piper writing is…in this book feel personal. It’s deep. It hurt to read at some point. At times I feel the pace are too fast. At times I feel the connection Mae and Tobias have need more time to the level of I love you. But then the epilogue. That epilogue falls perfectly. For me this book, the characters, their story is personal story of lots of people that need to be read.
I edit this review for I’m not sure my words can do justice for Tobias and Mae and Lee Piper as author in the first draft. I’m not even sure this edit one can do better.
I can only hope you give time to read their story and maybe love them as I do
Dark. Dirty. & Addicting! Three perfect words to describe Bad For Me, the sixth book in the Rock Me series by Lee Piper. I love the wide range of characters in this series, and Tobias is the darkest of them all. His depravity is unmatched in this series! Dark romance readers rejoice – this one is for you!
Tobias’ brokenness goes beyond what I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised to see something so dark from Lee Piper! She takes this character from the lowest of lows, and showed him how to love through heroine, Mae. I loved that Piper was unafraid of showing us the shattered depths of Tobias’ soul. Her writing was unapologetic and raw, and utterly real in Tobias’ struggles. Books with a bully element walk a fine line, and author Lee Piper wrote this aspect artfully well. From an author that writes predominantly from a female POV, I thought the window into Tobias’ perspective was essential, and written to perfection! This book is sinfully hot, and a scorch level on the heat factor. Tobias’ dirty mouth will set you on fire for sure!
Bad For Me can be read as a standalone, but I believe it’s best enjoyed with knowledge of the series earlier characters.
“Tobias isn’t the man for me. I know this. And yet…. The pieces fall into place.”
Dark, Gritty & Brutally Honest… Those are just a few ways to describe Bad for Me. Mae and Tobias’s story isn’t pretty and sometimes hard to read but it was real… two beautifully broken people finding their way to each other; one life changing & unexpected connection.
Tobias has kept secrets, lives with his demons daily and has absolutely no time for a nosy reporter. & Mae just wants the truth, she wants to uncover what really happened the finale night of Rising Star and gain some publicity for a band she’s truly passionate about but Mae’s got secrets too and she’s put all of her eggs in getting this story/Tobias’s story…. but can they survive the truth once it comes out? These two challenge each other, push each other and ignite a passion in one another that is unique, possessive & heartbreakingly beautiful.
Lee Piper put her heart into the pages of Bad for Me and you can tell in every single word. I cannot say enough how absolutely spectacular this book is and it’s my favorite it the series thus far….
Quite a journey. Mia and Tobias had so much pain within that it manifested on the outside. I loved how Mia quickly accepted the new her. Tobias was a bit of a jerk and took what he wanted when he wanted it. Together they managed to find a way past their pain to be a loving couple. There were incidences of sexual violence, though consensual, that may be hard for some readers. Keep it in mind. The emotions were very strong and had me feeling for these two.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
I have been waiting for Tobias‘s story since book 1, All of Me and let me tell you Lee Pipper did not disappoint. Love this entire series so much and I think this story just became my favorite!
This book is powerful, raw, intense and so much darkness that keeps you turning the pages for more. I can tell this book was written with her heart and soul pouring out into each page! So much pain, hurt, desperation, fire and love its mind blowing!
If you are into dark romance and tortured souls that your waiting to be healed, this is a must read for sure!
Holy Molly! This book is totally something else!
What characters! I’m stunned and at a loss for words!
Mae and Tobias feel very real and very authentic, and are very skillfully created.
The emotions, the attraction and chemistry between both are palpable from the first page on.
This book took my breath away, made me gasp for air, tore me apart, made me crumble and cry ugly tears. Sometimes it felt like staring into an abyss, choking before being able to normally breathe again. This story made my heart bleed …
This romance should come with the warning: One of the most intense read of a lifetime.
Bad for Me wasn’t what I expect, but then again any book I’ve picked up by Lee Piper never is. Bad for me touches on issues that many of us either personally struggle with or are affected by knowing and loving someone that has issues with….mental illness in this world is rampant and it doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better. With stress from work, relationships, family, friends…any thing really….many of us find it hard to function.
Lee did such a good job at representing that struggle for Tobias and how his anger is the direct result. While I would have loved to have had his and Mae’s story be longer and more in-depth, showing more of how they overcome his emotional and behavioral issues, the outcome wouldn’t have changed. Mae is the sun to Tobias’ darkness, together they just work! Their story isn’t the sunshine and roses and if that’s what you’re after, this isn’t the book. Their story is about overcome pain with pain that has a mine blowing pleasure to it, their story is about raw emotions, anger and mistrust. But it’s also about healing, finding that someone that makes the sun shine a little brighter and overcoming the obstacles standing in your path.
Bad For Me tore me apart, it shredded me and made it hard to breathe, however I craved every word that brought me to my knees. The destruction of two souls was actually their ultimate healing. Tobias made me feel the hurt, the pain and the hate. Mae had me feeling the connection, the desperation and the torment. As the darkness and anger circle these two, it will be their hearts beating as one that will finally have the truth setting them free. A story that is powerful and mesmerizing that you will gladly surrender your soul to.
Best way to describe this story would be, scorching hot in a twisted way. Tobias is filthy, rough full of rage to the point of vibrating with it. And with good reason. He has been hurt over and over. He doesn’t even get up from the ground before he is being shoved back down. It turns him defensive. But he is a beautiful broken man. And even when he decides to transfer all his pain to Mae, she is willing to take it and turn it around. She can be like that weed that never dies in the garden. Resilient and strong. The beautiful thing about this story is that it touched on one of the darkest thoughts a human can have but it still manages to make you understand (on your journey with Mae) that Tobias just needs someone to love and trust fiercely. Someone that will put him first. Is not easy, he fights her every step of the way, but it’s worth it. His vulnerability is what I wanted to find and focus on. I loved that he has hidden layers. If you are willing to navigate Tobias with Mae and from her position, he will posses you.
Bad For Me is book six in the series. It was darker, steamier and more emotional than the previous books and I loved it! I was consumed by Tobias and Mae. They were just off the charts hot together. Could not get enough of them.
What the Hell did I just read ?..O.M.G this story is exactly what it says it is deliciously dark….Brutal and utterly compulsive.
It was like being on a runaway train at break neck speed there was no brakes to stop you from reading and you didn’t even care.
Tobias is relentless in his cruelty towards Mae,physically and mentally but Mae welcomes his brutality as they are both broken and feed off eachother.
Tobias is Cold and angry his words bite, hes a dark soul with inner and outer scars,he is an Enigma and I know I shouldn’t Love him but I did…deliriously in Love .
Mae appeared to be weak and submissive she just took all his crap, but to me she had guts ,she gave as good as she got and stood up to Tobias in her own way.She is a journalist that needs Tobias to give her his story, along with his band members stories ,she needs the paycheck..So in a way she actually makes a deal with the devil his story for her submission.
Lee Piper has turned up her writing skills to the next level ,she delved into the soul of these two characters with so much raw emotion , the passion just spilled from the pages into my heart.
It was descriptively detailed and perfect, and it left me kind of speechless,I was so intrigued by the twisted relationship between Tobias and Mae and I could not stop reading.
Dark Romance Lovers Everywhere will absolutely devour this story .
I Loved this book ,it lived up to all my expectations and I couldn’t praise it enough.
10 delectable dark Stars.
Pain & Desire
Be ready for some dark and dirty reading. Tobias is a man with so many secrets and so much self-hate that he is ready to take it out on the sweet journalist trying to help his rising band out. Mae has so much more to her than what Tobias and his bandmates thought. He may have finally found someone who can stand up to him and take every depravity he can dish out. The question is will he break Mae both personally and emotionally with the darkness within him?
This book brings out how mental health can ravage your soul. Luckily for Tobias, Mae is just the person to help soothe the raging being within him. I couldn’t put this book down but be warned this author will take you to some pretty dark places. It’s with seeing the dark that you will understand the light.
Tobias & Mae. Dark, raw & honest. 5 Stars
This is a long-anticipated book, and I’ve been stalking Lee Piper in the worst possible way because HELLO, Rockers are my kryptonite. I more than love the Rockstar trope, I actively obsess over it, and since I’ve discovered Ms. Piper’s books, she has become my latest author crush.
Bad For Me is a little heavier in content than usual and could be at times a challenging read for some, but I have to say that I’ve found it’s Ms. Piper’s best work to date. I doubt that I can write a review worthy of this book. She has poured more of herself than before into these words, and I just want to do her some sort of justice to convince others to read Tobias and Mae’s story and see the beauty in it, and love it as much as I did.
It’s written in my favourite dual POV, and in hearing Tobias’ vitriolic animosity absolutely emanating from the virtual pages, I got to see that he was in a really bad place. And, like a wounded animal backed into a corner, he was fighting just to hang onto any semblance of perceived control of his anger and sanity. Hurt and pain were eating away at his soul, and those who should have had his back, stabbed it instead.
I loved Mae’s strength and her inner honesty with herself. She was perfect for Tobias and the chemistry between them was as hot as all hell! If there was one chapter that held me in Ms Piper’s thrall, it was Mae’s admission to herself that it was Tobias’s dark drum beats that had initially called her to the up and coming band. That in discovering a side of herself that was attracted to him on a base level and wanted the dark side of him, she realised that sometimes love isn’t hearts and flowers, but dark, brutal and raw. Some might not see her actions as a strength, she needed to be strong enough for the both of them.
Wow, what a hot and intense read. I hit it in one sitting, and I sobbed tears of relief and resolution at the end. I absolutely and highly recommend this book to all who love those broken and deeply hurt rockers and the partners who complete them. This book deserves more than 5 Stars.
Bad for Me by Lee Piper is a heart-wrenching story of a troubled musician haunted by his demons.
Tobias, is a broken man who thrives on control. He walks around as though nothing phases him that is until Mae enters his world.
Mae, the relentless journalist is there at every turn wanting the scoop on what makes Tobias tick. She is drawn to the man who is adored by the millions, his detached demeanor, but she knows there is more to him meets the eye. She is determined to get to the heart of who he is even though he might cost her everything she has worked hard for.
Bad for Me is a far cry from a sweet romance. It is raw, brutal, dark story that touches the reader in ways that allows them to get to the heart of who Tobias is.
Tobias and Mae are perfect! They challenge each other; feed off each other’s energy.
Love is not always sweet, it can be brutal, leaving us with scars that might not be physically visible, but one thing remains true is that in whatever form it comes it will make us feel alive when we are opened to letting it in.
Awesome job Lee Piper! Highly recommend!
Wow! This book. This story. It completely consumes you. The darkness in this story guts you yet keeps you wanting more.
Reading this book, I can tell that this author put her heart and soul into it. I can feel the pain she wrote on every single page. And I can’t begin to tell you how I felt that pain, those words. Tobias’ and Mae’s story falls into the darkness where desire crosses, a mixture of pain and pleasure… and love.
This story gripped me from the very beginning. I’ve been intrigued by Tobias’ story ever since I met him, and through this book, I’ve fallen in love with him and his shattered pieces. I knew he had a story, I just didn’t expect this.
This story wasn’t was what I was expecting at all. Tobias’ tenacity and desire for destruction, Mae trying to hold on to everything she has… Including Tobias. I loved their crazy, hot, passionate and dark chemistry. I was drawn to it like a moth is to a flame. It was addictive, and seeing Mae crawling under Tobias’ skin that way, was very, very addictive. It was so hot, even the fire emoji is an understatement.
One theme that runs through this book is mental health. It screams how its pain is invisible, destructive, raw, but nothing to be ashamed of because it isn’t. It was raw. Tobias’ story was raw, emotional, painful and dark. It was dealt with honestly and unashamedly. It was dealt with incredibly.
Bad For Me simply consumed me. I couldn’t tear my eyes from it. It was a real, it held true to the darkness that the demons of mental health can play. It was vicious, it was dark, it was passionate and fiery and showed hope in the dark times. It was an incredible read, and it’s a book that will stay with me for a very long time.
Highly recommended!
(PS: I need Jasper’s story ASAP. I think I’m slightly obsessed with him. And when I mean slightly, I mean a LOT.)
Holy Shitballs Batman what a story!
This one feels like a punch to the chest in the best possible way. The kind of storytelling that has you gasping out loud and squirming in anticipation.
Tobias is dominance and filth rolled into one delicious package. He’s definitely Lee’s darkest hero to date and I fell for him hard.
This one isn’t an easy read. It’s not a hearts and flowers kind of love story but I have to say I absolutely devoured it!
Mae knows she needs one shot to prove herself as a journalist and get a good story so she can buy her grandparents townhouse where she was raised. Unfortunately, she has risked everything on this job and now she is crossing her fingers that she can get an interview.
Tobias is a drummer in a rock band that just came in second in a reality show. He is trying to put the pieces of his life back together after a bad breakup with his ex-girlfriend, Tiffany, he’s been shafted by his parents and he screwed up a million dollar contract. To say he’s bitter and resentful is the least you could say.
When Mae hopes to interview the last person in the band, Tobias, she is shocked at how rude and mean to her. He demeans her in a way she never has experienced before. Will Mae stick with the hopes of getting an interview and keeping her grandparents house or will she be forced to give up the interview and lose everything?
This was a good book and I really enjoyed it but I was shocked at how cruel Tobias was, especially at the beginning.
I loved that Mae was going after what she wanted and I knew why she was working so hard to get the “dream” interview but I was heartbroken at how much she risked for it. I wanted her to gte her grandparents house as I know that was something that I had wanted at one time too. It bothered me that her boss had such little faith in her and wasn’t really helping her out at all. I think Mae’s main disadvantage was in her looks as it appeared that she would do anything for the article as she was extremely attractive and dressed a little provocatively.
Tobias was such a jerk from his first interaction with Mae and then through much of the book. He held everything that he was going through against Mae before even talking to her and listening to anything she said. Gradually you learn more about his past and what he is hiding but he was just so mean at the beginning and really didn’t deserve an ounce of sympathy from Mae for what he put her through.
It was obvious how much chemistry was between Mae and Tobias but I had a hard time with Mae giving in to Tobias when he was just using her and struggling with himself.
It broke my heart at the beginning when Tobias purposely breaks Mae and I hated that he didn’t want anyone else near her but continued to use and abuse her because he could. I was shocked when Tobias realizes he is going to lose Mae and what he does. My heart did thaw some towards Tobias at that time!
The end was great and I loved the creation of the Black and Blue Music Festival!

Once again Lee Piper, holy sweaty hot men batman! This is the fifth installment in the Rock Me Series. Piper is so good about getting you so immersed into the book, you are the main female character. She always inserts you directly into her worlds within just a couple chapters. You get so engrossed into her books, you wish you had your own hot bad boy drummer.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS BOOK!!!!
Now that we have that over with, my sarcasm aside, LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THIS BOOK, I REPEAT. Are you looking for a gorgeous bad boy drummer and a friggin’ amazing female MC.
This is the book for you.
Okay so this dang book, made me laugh so much throughout it.
Tobias, oh dear sweet hot tamales batman, is the best kind of bad boy. He seems so rough and bad but he has depth!
Sooo we will talk about Mae, she has been like my favorite female main character I have read about in a romance in a LONG time.
Once this covid crap is done I’ll do a more in depth review.
I wanted to like this book more than I did. I was really really looking forward to this one and I’m let down that I didn’t love it. I absolutely love this series but this book just didn’t do it for me.
Bad For Me is on the tougher side and isn’t something I would typically read. I like knowing what I’m getting into and I was not prepared for this book at all.
If you like a super dominant borderline abusive hero this is the book for you. There is a lot of rough sexual content in this book and very little sweet intimate moments.
For me this book may have been short length wise was very long and drawn out. Nothing happened until well after 70%. I kept finding myself wanting to skip pages but I refrained.
Now I will say the ending was the best part of this book. The epilogue made up for a lot of it in my opinion. I wish there had been more conversation and bonding throughout this story and less instalove but that’s just me.
Overall the writing for this story was really good I liked that, I liked the ending, I just wish there had been more to the story.
I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either so just 3 stars for me.
Bad For Me by Lee Piper is a standalone rock star romance that is part of the Rock Me Series. This is the second book of Lee’s that I have read it definitely won’t be my last. She does an amazing job pulling you into the story. The sexual tension between Tobias and Mae was off the charts. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves rock star romances or dark romances.
