USA Today bestselling author Christi Barth launches a sexy new series about three bad-boy brothers in Witness Protection who are about to learn that going good is harder than they thought…Doctor Mollie Vickers loves the tight-knit community of her tiny Oregon town. But she’s not a fan of the limited dating options. Sleep with a guy who tried to copy off her in junior high? Pass. Mollie’s sex … in junior high? Pass. Mollie’s sex life is flatlining… until a deliciously handsome man she’s never seen before stops to help her fix a flat tire.
As an ex-mobster, Rafe Maguire’s no saint. But he’s trying to turn over a new leaf. Although he probably shouldn’t kiss the hot doctor on the side of the highway. Or suggest a no-strings fling with a woman he has no business pursuing. Rafe’s life is too complicated for love—his new WITSEC-provided identity doesn’t fit him at all and there’s a U.S. Marshal watching his every move. He can’t tell Mollie the truth… but their chemistry is scorching and being good doesn’t mean he can’t be a little bad.
Mollie can’t resist the guy who looks rough, talks tough, and is loyal to the bone. But it’s obvious Rafe is keeping secrets. When the truth comes out, Mollie must decide if she could ever love an ex-mobster… or if this bad boy has truly gone good.

This book was perfect to help me get out of a reading slump. Lately I have been reading ok books and it was starting to depress me. Thank you Christi Barth for this awesome book. I love Rafe and Mollie’s story and struggles. I can’t wait to read Finns’ book next.

I loved this sweet, smart and sexy story about a bad boy gone good and the doctor who loved him.
6 months ago, Rafe and his brothers fled Chicago after he agreed to testify against his gangster boss. After bouncing around a couple of other locations, WITSEC deposits them in a small coastal Oregon town with an ultimatum that they either make a go of things here or they’re out of the program and on their own.
He really wants to fit in, stay below the radar and live a life free of complications while he struggles to redefine himself in his new reality … and then he stops to help a stranded motorist with a flat tire and that complication-free life goes out the window.
The story comes with a whole set of family and past life complications and a pair of lead characters with a lot of old scars and trust issues which help to make the central, strangers to lovers story all the more poignant.
I couldn’t put this one down and was glad for the cold, snowy winter weather that kept me indoors to read it.
Rafe Maguire and his brothers are trying to make a new start. After turning state’s evidence on the Chicago mob, Rafe and his brothers have been put into witness protection. They have new names and identities and have been dropped into the small town of Bandon, Oregon with directions from the US Marshals to stay clean and fit in. When he finds the sassy and sexy Mollie Vickers on the side of the road trying to change her flat tire, it’s his civic duty to stop and help, right? Kissing her, however, is something he probably shouldn’t have done . . .
Mollie Vickers loves her community, but refuses to date anyone in the small town since she will probably end up treating them at some point as the town doctor. She also has a past that everyone in town knows about and doesn’t want their pity. She does, however, want the hot and handsome new stranger in town that stops to help her fix her flat tire . .
Neither Rafe nor Mollie want a relationship. Rafe’s just trying to figure out his new life and can’t imagine lying about everything to someone he cares about and Mollie has serious commitment and abandonment issues. However, friends with benefits just might work for them. Their scorching chemistry is off the charts hot and a little fun never hurt anyone, right?
When feelings start to develop on both sides, can Mollie and Rafe make a relationship work . . . especially when it’s obvious to Mollie that Rafe has some major secrets he isn’t willing to share? Rafe needs to decide if telling Mollie the truth is worth putting himself and his brothers at risk and Mollie needs to figure out if an ex-mobster can really turn good.
This is my first book by Christi Barth and I totally fell in love with her writing! Mollie is a strong and intelligent female lead who really knows what she wants out of life, even if she can’t get it where she is. The Maguire brothers are all alpha men trying to find their new lives, which is opposite in every way from their previous lifestyle. Their struggles to fit in and adjust in a small town setting is adorable. Rafe truly seems to have a heart of gold and his motivation to keep his brothers alive and well shows his depth of character, even as 2nd in command of the Chicago mob.
Mollie and Rafe’s chemistry is smoking hot and their flirting and banter was really enjoyable to read. Watching their relationship develop from friends with benefits to something more was a fun journey. The ancillary characters we meet along the way add much to the story. The author has created a cast of characters that can only exist in a small town, from Mick, the town’s watch dog, to Norah, Mollie’s pot smoking hippy grandmother. Throw in the town’s extreme love for cranberries and you get some truly humorous dialogue.
While there is humor and some very steamy scenes between Rafe and Mollie, there is also a depth of plot that had me enthralled from beginning to end. I really enjoyed Bad for Her and can’t wait to read what’s in store for the next Maguire brother . . . Christi Barth definitely has hooked me with this new series! 5 stars
The beauty of a Christi Barth novel is the versatility of the voice behind them. Her characters are not afraid to show the foibles of humanity and that makes them relatable to me as a reader. Rafe is a man with a ton of baggage. His secrets have secrets. His past is full of bad decisions and dangerous situations, but in his heart he wants to be a better man. Will the stigma of his past ruin his chance for a brighter future? Bad For Her is a tale of prejudice, second chances and modern day lessons. Romance and wisdom are a sweet combination that Christi Barth always shines in.
Rafe Maguire is a man with many names and many talents, which is what happens when you get put in Wit-Sec after reporting your ex-mob boss for his shady dealings… and while it is not the life he planned for himself and his brothers…it’s the life they now have indefinitely. Just when they start to feel like they can breath a sigh of relief, Marshal Evans shows up on their doorstep and informs them that they need to move to a new town and assume a new identity, and their latest stop is tiny little town in Oregon. And just when Rafe is about to declare this town a dud too, he meets a very sexy doctor alongside the road, and from there the sparks start to fly, and a little strings-free relationships ensues… but for how long?
Dr. Mollie Vickers has made Bandon, Oregon her home, and for the most part she loves it, the one downfall is that the nightlife is sparse, and unattached men are pretty much non-existent. But then when she finds herself stranded alongside the road, and hunky mystery man stops to help her out, she decides her luck with finding love might be changing! Question is once she learns about his past will she still be thinking luck is on her side?
Bad For Her was such a refreshing change of pace for me, I normally steer clear of mob-related reads because they aren’t really my thing, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and embrace something new for a change… and boy am I happy that I did! The characters were fabulous, they had amazing chemistry, were very well written and researched, and completely stole my heart. This is the first offering in a new series from Ms. Barth, and after finishing I think it is safe to say I will be back for more!! It’s one of those emotional roller coaster type reads, giving you moments of happiness, moments that squeeze your heart, moments that have you excited and on the edge of your seat and moments that will have you sporting a serious blush!! I am so happy I gave this one a try, it was such a pleasurable read, highly recommend!!

Review:
I was curious about this book. The summary sounded interesting and I needed a bit of a light interesting read.
What is this book about:
This book is about Dr. Mollie and ex mobster Rafe. Rafe and his brothers are in the witness protection program after striking a deal to testify against their boss. They are located, again, to a small town. Coming from San Fransisco, they don’t really like it in the small town, and thats putting it lightly. Rafe got a job as a mechanic, and thats about the only thing he likes about this town, that and the fact that it keeps his brothers save and happens to have a hot single doctor does help.
When Mollie gets stranded at the side of the road with a flat tire she couldn’t believe her luck when a hot guy pulls over to give her a hand. Their chemistry is off the chart. It’s often when you aren’t looking that you find exactly what you need. You only need to accept it.
What did I like/love:
I liked the concept of the story. Rafe was a great guy, he is loyal to the bone and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep them save.
Mollie was a great girl as well, she is smart, and had great sass.
They chemistry between Rafe and Mollie was great as well.
There was some drama and I think Mollie was overreacting a bit but I could understand why. I did like that she owned up to it and admitted that she got spooked. I really liked that she did that.
Overall it was a sweet and easy story. I enjoyed reading it.
What did I dislike/hate:
Nothing

I appreciate the giveaway on Goodreads. I hate to dis a book that someone put their heart into but this was not for me. Grammar is not my forte but even I noticed errors.
Characters were semi developed. Story line was not creative. It had me rolling my eyes and skimming sections. Some of the conversations were hard to follow also. I wasn’t sure if the characters were trying to be funny, mean or just stupid.
Maybe a younger girl would like the lack of depth, silly romance/drama but I didn’t care for it and will not read more of the series.
