JR Richards What’s worse than wanting the one person you can never have? How about finally getting them. Don’t get me wrong the sex was great, but everything that came after? Yeah, it’s like they say, be careful what you wish for. Ruslan Belikov My brother made a deal that didn’t go as planned. Now I have to get back what’s ours and pretty boy Jacoby is the tool to make that happen. I’ll torture … that happen. I’ll torture and use him until I get what I want, then I’ll toss him aside like the rest.
A motorcycle club and a Mafia family shouldn’t make deals. Someone’s bound to lose. Family, friends and hearts, nothing’s safe in a world fueled by drugs, money and sex.
WARNING: Ruslan Belikov and Jacoby Richards may not be for everyone. They are two dominant men thrown into an impossible situation. Some readers may find their story makes them uncomfortable. If you don’t like dark and dirty mafia bosses who use torture and sex to get their way, turn back now. You have been warned.

If you are looking for a m/m mafia romance that will melt your panties, this is the book for you!! First in the Belikov Crime Family series is Bad Deal by Faith Ryan and Ember-Raine Winters. What a collaboration this one is!!
From the first word to the last, (which I didn’t expect to be a cliffhanger), Bad Deal is fast-paced, electric and dark with off the charts chemistry that leaves you wanting more.
So well written that you instantly become sucked into their world then it’s over before you know it leaving you with a bit of a book hangover.
The warning alone that comes with the synopsis should have you intrigued:
“WARNING: Ruslan Belikov and Jacoby Richards may not be for everyone. They are two dominant men thrown into an impossible situation. Some readers may find their story makes them uncomfortable. If you don’t like dark and dirty mafia bosses who use torture and sex to get their way turn back now. You have been warned.”
JR thought he knew what he wanted. However, when faced with wanting someone he shouldn’t, he realizes he knows nothing. The path he is now on leads to excitement, heartbreak and all the other things that come along with it.
Ruslan is the top of the mafia chain. He likes what he likes and will take what he wants. But when his brother’s deal goes wrong, his life will change forever.
This book is not for the faint hearted. The darkness seeps through the pages and the twists will leave you wondering just what next is in store. It is one of those books that at times will test the reader’s emotions and leave mixed feelings. Just the kind of book I love.
The character development was solid. For the most part I loved the way the authors handled the characters. I did want to see a little more depth with Jacoby. However, the relationships between the characters really made it work. The authors paid close attention to world building and I felt immersed in what they created. I absolutely loved how they brought everything to life. I am deducting half a star for character development, though I hope in the rest of the series there is more growth.
Overall the story grabbed me from the very first words and kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. I’m left needing more and can’t wait until the next release in the series! This is a must read if you can handle it and definitely a writing duo to keep your eye on!
4.5 stars for a twisted, dark and delicious read!
Hands down Bad Deal is one of the best sexually charged MM mafia romance novels to date! Faith Ryan & Ember-Raine Winters serve up a scorching enemy to lovers novel that is layered with dark desires and angst, revenge and trust. Rus and Jacoby will blow your mind in more than a couple of ways from the first word until the end.
“You’re mine to do with as I please, and I haven’t tired of playing with my toy yet.”
The collaboration of these authors is epic. The pairing of their writing techniques is seemingly flawless, not knowing when one ends and the other takes over. That right there makes a perfect duo. I look forward to more Belikov Crime Family series in the future as well as more novels from Faith & Ember.
Above all else, heed the warning in the synopsis; this novel will not be for everyone. If you are uncomfortable with themes of aggressive sexual natures then keep scrolling by.
Jacoby “JR” has had it hard till he meet Scar and Benny and they took him in. One night while on a run for the MC something happens and he is left to fake the blame. Ruslan is head of the Russian mob and he takes Jacoby to figure out what happen and where is stuff is.
Tesion mounts and some really dirty stuff goes down with Ruslan looking for the truth. With Jr held captive will this lead to more with Ruslan or is all just to get his own stuff back.
Man oh man this books is intense with a bunch of twist and turns and so many emotions you won’t be able to stop reading
This book is M/M,
I should start out by saying this is my first book with this storyline, that being said, Holy wow! I was super skeptical about reading this book but Faith and Ember keep my interest I needed to k ow what happened.
This book is sexy, dark, and deadly. You should never cross the Russian Mafia Jacoby found this out the hard (no pun intended) way when he was set up by the man he considered his best friend.
Ruslan Belikov the dark and intriguing mafia boss, who’s not too pleased he’s been stolen from. Jacoby takes the brunt of his punishment only to find out that there’s this strange attraction to his captor.
Can Ruslan and Jacoby make it through this war that is looming on the horizon, sometimes the best things in life are worth fighting for.
This book is very well written and is a good book to start with for someone who’s more to this world!
Bad Deal is my first book by these two authors. I thought it was a good story, not an original story, but good. Hot AF! Bad Deal is a fast-paced story filled with action and blood dripping whips.
So many inconsistent in the story.. the authors keeps forgetting where or what the characters are doing, and just skips.. And a couple of contradictions..
Like, you can’t be fastened to a table and then get paddled on your back..
However, I did like the characters. Though, they were a bit…messy? Not always staying true to them self, if that makes any sense.
Where do I even start!
I absolutely Loved the emotional turmoil between Ruslan and Jacoby –
The storyline is intense and carries an air of tenebrosity that tested even my resolution – and I spend a lot of time in the deep end of the “dark romance” genre
The Characters –
Jacoby just clicked for me – He was strong emotionally and definitely contained the heart of a survivor while at the same time he emitted an innocence to him that called to me – I wanted to protect him, hold him, let him know it was going to be okay. He was loyal to a fault – yet IMO his loyalty was misplaced and at times abused. Not by Ruslan (you have to read it )
Scar was Jacoby’s best friend and blood relation to the club president. And maybe Jacoby had a crush on him and suffered a bit with hero worship. The two were practically inseparable since childhood – there is a whole story to that -again though, you got to read it
Ruslan is Heartless – Vicious and runs his crew with an iron hammer – As the leader of the local mafia he has no qualms with erasing little problems as well as larger ones > Permanently – I must say his methods can be a bit “picturesque”. I believe there is so much more to him than what we are given and I truly hope we are given some insight to his psyche
Victor is Ruslan’s brother and a true psychopath – you think Ruslan has a few screws loose wait till you see how Victor plays – He is just plain scary.
There is a few more characters that play secondary roles within the storyline many I firmly believe will be key players in the series
The story is fast paced and keeps the reader on edge (I read this in one sitting) from the opening scene to the “WTH just happened” and “I still have so many questions” ending – Yes I was a bit upset with the closing scenes – Am I being spoiled? Possibly – Do I have a chit load of questions with no answers? Most definitely. Do I want book two now? Yes
A quick ending note on a physical level this story is HOLY H E L L what did I just read –
Please Please if true dark romance that leaves little to the imagination and tests your every boundary is not your thing – Might I suggest you pass on this one
4.5
Super enjoyable darkish mafia MM romance!
This book was one big roller coaster with lots of action, suspense and deliciously steamy scenes. The story was engaging right from the start and I read it in one sitting!
Jacoby and Ruslan were just so hot together!
Still, I have to say it took me a while to warm up to Ruslan. And while I adored Jacoby I think his character was slightly lacking in development.
But their chemistry was on point and I was happy with how things turned out for them in the end!
I’m really intrigued by Victor after reading the second epilogue so I hope authors still plan to publish his book!
**I received a copy of this book from author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review**
If you are looking for a m/m mafia romance that will melt your panties, this is the book for you! Bad Deal is a dark and sexy m/m romance that kept me turning the pages until the very end. It is a little bit of everything rolled into one book, M/M, mafia, MC and BSDM.
This really was a dark and twisty read that kept you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. From the start you’re second guessing the characters and what may happen next.
Ruslan was seriously twisted yet his undeniable hunger for Jacoby opens up a whole new side of him.
Jacoby finds himself in a very dangerous, life threatening situation yet he’s drawn to his captor like a moth to a flame.
They meet when Ruslan believes Jacoby has done him wrong, but has he really? The connection and chemistry between them is unreal. Jacoby struggles with his loyalty to his MC and his feelings for this totally dominant Russian.
This is the first book by this duo and I can’t wait to read more from both of them.
