This player’s got a lot to learn if he wants to score . . . with the boss’s daughter. “Nicole Edwards sure does know how to write the bad boys of sports!”—L. P. Dover Stone: Football is more than a game to me. It’s my calling. Becoming the Dallas Wranglers’ starting quarterback before I retire is a dream come true, but with a few wins under my belt, suddenly everyone wants a piece of me. And even … suddenly everyone wants a piece of me. And even though being in the spotlight has its perks—beautiful women, star treatment, more beautiful women—what really gets me sweating is the watchful gaze of my sexy-as-hell PR coach, Savannah Andrews. The catch? Her father is kind of my boss. . . .
Savannah: In my family, football is big business. When your dad owns an NFL franchise, you learn a thing or two about schmoozing, and from what I can tell, it’s not a skill in Jason Stone’s playbook. Sure, the veteran quarterback is literally larger than life. With broad shoulders, muscles on muscles, and a mouth made for kissing, he may be one of the hottest men in the league—and I should know. I’ve turned down enough players to start my own all-star team. But those guys just wanted to get close to my father. Meanwhile, Stone is getting temptingly close . . . to me.

“I can tell that she wants me, but she doesn’t want to want me.”
I’m so in love with this Bad Boys of Sports series. And Bad Business just revved my engine even higher with #HottieMcFootballMan, Jason Stone.
I especially enjoyed Stone’s first encounter with Savannah. Being the veteran quarterback that he is, everyone recognizes him, but she managed to remain anonymous. I was internally giggling when he thought to himself, I know my limits, and when it comes to women, one night is as far as it gets.” I couldn’t wait for her to change his mind.
It was very entertaining to see them wind each other up, knowing that the big reveal was coming later. The taste of the forbidden was very enticing too. Not that it would be the first time a player and the bosses’ daughter hooked up, just that it’s not usually a good idea when the team’s reputation is at stake. There’s always the risk of the media insinuating that there were deals being made between the sheets. But I can vouch that’s not what happened. Actually, it’s a miracle the sheets didn’t catch on fire with all the heat being generated between Stone and Savannah. But just to be sure, I hovered nearby with a fire extinguisher. I had to peek, just for safety’s sake. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
When Savannah could no longer avoid seeing Stone ‘at work’ her identity is revealed. Finding out who she was should have put out the flames of his desire knowing it could affect his job with the Dallas Wranglers, but that wasn’t the case. He wanted her. Unfortunately, she put him in #TheClientZone and he had to accept her decision until he could change her mind.
When their jobs threw them together, their chemistry was apparent. They were very amusing with their witty banter, challenges, and bets. As they shared details about their lives, both claimed to be content with their single status and neither was interested in dating or relationships. But there was no denying the attraction they felt toward each other.
I was cheering on the sidelines, mentally matchmaking and willing them to give in, but enjoying the suspense as they resisted. The football action was exciting too and there’s a particular team player that I hope to see get his own book in the future. And I totally have a girl crush on Savannah’s best friend. She is hilarious and I’m keeping my fingers crossed she ends up with a player of her own eventually, I’d love to spend some more time with her. I can’t wait to see what comes next. The line forms here…
I really enjoyed Bad Business so much. It was a quick, easy read with some very hot steam.
Savannah is the daughter of the Dallas Wranglers football team owner and PR coach for the team. Jason Stone is a thirteen year quarterback veteran and has been picked up by the Wranglers. When he meets a gorgeous woman at a bar he has no idea who she is but they quickly head to his place and spend the night together. In the morning the sexy bombshell is gone and he doesn’t even know her name.
Imagine his surprise when he finally discovers she’s the owners daughter.
Can anything good ever come from mixing business with pleasure or will something come in the way of a blooming romance?
These two characters were so amazing! I loved their chemistry, connection and banter with each other.
This being my first book by Nicole Edwards I know I’ll definitely be on the look out to read more of her books.
**Received ARC from NetGalley. Voluntarily reviewed**
This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.
HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! Wooo….*fans self* Be prepared for the steaminess that comes with this one, it also had an amazing story with it. Savannah is the daughter of the owner for the Dallas Wranglers’. Jason Stone is the star quarterback for the Wranglers’. Cue the fireworks and chemistry.
These two were drawn together like moths to a flame. They had such a strong connection to each other from the get go. I loved watching their relationship grow more and more with every page. They’re both truly awesome people and I’m so happy they found each other.
Jason Stone was such a refreshing character. He wasn’t this immature man who made bad decisions at every turn. This was a man who was focused and steady. He was this calm, collected guy who weighed everything out before acting on it. It was so nice to read about a male character like this because it hardly happens (at least in my experience). He definitely made the list of book boyfriends quite quickly. I love that he had this alpha, confident personality while still having a softer , approachable side. I’m a fan…what can I say?!
Savannah Andrews…..such a fierce woman!!! I loved her personality and how she worked her way to the position she had (executive vice president, as well as chief public relations officer) and didn’t use her father’s influence. She was another character who was focused and driven. I loved that both main characters had a career that they thrived in and still made time for a relationship.
I was sad when I came to the end of this book. I want MORE!!! I’m hoping this isn’t the last from these characters. I enjoyed reading their story and love finding a new author to love.
(3-3.5 stars)
There’s no doubt Ms. Edwards is a great author and one of my personal favorites. I have more than enjoyed most of her books, but BAD BUSINESS lacked something I am used to in her previous books. Savannah and Stone meet at a club and their attraction is undeniable. Savannah knows their night together will change everything once the quarterback finds out she’s his bosses daughter. While I did enjoy Stone & Savannah together, their chemistry was off the charts and their banter often left me rolling on the floor, something was missing. IMO, I think it is the lack of conflict. While Savannah spends most of the book struggling with her inner turmoil over what her father has asked her to do, it’s out there one second and resolved the next. It felt like a let down after being such a large part of the story. Even saying that, it will not turn me off from the series or from reading anything else of Ms. Edwards.
Bad Business is incredibly hot, sexy, and sweet. Nicole Edwards brings her A game to the must-read football romance of the year. Pick it up today, and thank me later.
I absolutely loved this book. It was refreshing to read a book where there wasn’t any real drama between the characters. In that they didn’t get together, get angry at one another and break up, only to get back together again.
Jason and Savannah acted like adults and communicated with one another to resolve any issues they had without getting in a huff.
I just loved them together and loved their interactions. I could have just kept reading about these two, but then again, I find that with this all of this author’s work. I fall in love with the characters and hate having to say goodbye to them when the book ends.

This is a fun, simple sports romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The storyline will be familiar to sports romance fans – star player falls for team owner’s daughter – but the quality of Nicole Edwards’ writing makes this one special.
This is definitely romance and not erotica – and it is quite a departure from some of the author’s kinkier stories. This is a more vanilla read. It’s a playful, sweet, and easy story with characters I quickly fell in love with.
I read it on a hot beach and it makes for a perfect holiday read. This isn’t a complicated or angsty book and there isn’t much that’s especially original about it – but I loved the banter between Stone and Savannah and I loved the way they fit together pretty perfectly.

M/F Sports romance
This is a typical sports romance story. Stone is a high-profile quarterback who is helping to bring a lower team up to the Super Bowl again. He is cocky and a smart player. He lives for the game. But when Savannah catches his eye, he’ll do what he can to make sure that he is what she needs.
Savannah is living in the shadow of her father. Despite her intelligence, her dad sometimes uses her for her looks rather than her degree. When she lets her hair down for a night, it seems that the connection that was made won’t let go.
Savannah and Stone have to navigate a working relationship and a private relationship. It is a sweet story that follows their choices and how they navigate. For people who have read Edwards’ books before, this is definitely not erotica but more of a true romance. Stone and Savannah’s chemistry is still hot, but they have a more organic relationship.
Overall, this is a quick read that is not angsty or full of turmoil.

Savannah doesn’t mind working for the family business, her father owns the Dallas Wranglers football team. She’s just glad that she’s able to be do her job mostly behind the scenes, leaving the public faces of the team to her father and brothers.
Stone has only signed a one-year contract but with the Wranglers on a winning streak and the odds of making the playoffs getting better after every win, her father wants to know what it will take to get him to sign a contract extension. The problem is, Stone isn’t sure if he wants to continue to play the game. He’s had a great career and the Super Bowl rings to prove it. He wouldn’t mind one more to add to his collection, but he’s not sure if he’s willing to put his body through another few years of torture for a chance to win a couple more rings.
The more Savannah learns about Stone, the more she likes the man off the gridiron. He’s smart, funny, and seems to really like her. Not just because she’s the boss’s daughter but maybe in spite of it.
I enjoyed reading about Stone and Savannah and the way their romance played out over the course of the book. The book took a familiar storyline (sports romance) and made it new again.
Reviewers on the Wicked Reads Review Team were provided a free copy of Bad Business (Bad Boys of Sports #2) by Nicole Edwards to read and review.
Savannah Andrews is not the kind of woman who mixes business with pleasure, especially when it comes to professional football players because she sees them as nothing but trouble, but when veteran quarterback, Jason Stone, takes over her father’s team, the Dallas Wranglers, she quickly learns that he’s not the typical cocky QB and that her first impression was way off base.
But regardless of Savannah’s attraction to Stone, crossing the line when it comes to their professional relationship is not something she wants to do, but that might be an inevitability once their paths collide, leaving them with a difficult decision to make…give in to their desire or draw a line and not allow their bodies and perhaps even their hearts to overpower their heads.
I love that this series is titled the Bad Boys of Sports because it makes readers assume that the heroes will be nothing but manwhores whose bad behavior overshadows their athletic ability, but that is so not the case with Jason Stone, because even if he has to prove himself to the woman he desperately wants, the only time he’s a player is when he’s on the football field and that’s the reason Savannah has such a difficult time staying away from him even when it could change not only the dynamics of her career but also her relationship with her father since he’s the one who signs both of their checks.
Nicole Edwards, once again, creates a steamy sports romance that is a great mix of lust and passion; it’s an insider’s look at how a professional sports team operates and it also illustrates how the determination of an athlete translates into an alpha male who will fight for the woman he wants in his bed for more than one night.
4 Poison Apples
If you are looking for something that has a story, is quick to read and is extremely sizzling hot in all the right places then this is a book you don’t want to miss! Even though this is book 2 in the Bad Boys of Sports series, each book can be read as a total standalone.
Stone is the Dallas Wranglers starting quarterback and definitely a hit with the ladies. However Stones mind is in the game and he has a wise head on his shoulders so for the most part he side swerves advances from said ladies because he knows it’s all about the fame and money with most of them and he ain’t interested. That is until Savannah comes along. Savannah is VP of PR for the Dallas Wranglers and her Dad also happens to be the owner.
Savannah is level headed and has turned down all the advances ever made from football players that is until Stone comes along and shocks her because Stone isn’t your usual cocky, I love myself guy, he is grounded and doesn’t throw himself at women like all the other players do. Will they both break their own rules or will they just break each others hearts?
This book was a breath of fresh air to read. It has the usual hotness I have come to expect from a Nicole Edwards book but also has a beginning, middle and ending so it doesn’t leave you hanging in anticipation for the next book in the series. The characters are lovable because they have that older maturity and their chemistry for each other is sizzling hot which appeals to me greatly.
The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because I thought it could have done with some sort of large angsty twist in the plot line, maybe with Savannah’s Dad or something. Overall though I loved it and can’t wait to see whats next in this series.
Despite being one of the bad boys of sports, Jason’s dedication is to his team and the game. He may be thinking of retiring but for now that decision is pushed to the side as he leads the Dallas Wranglers toward the playoffs.
Savannah grew up living and breathing football. As the owner’s daughter, she works as the PR woman to help clean up and improve any of the player’s images that have been tarnished. When her father instructs her to shadow Jason Stone in order to find out what his intentions are at the end of the season, she’s stuck in a quandary. She never gets involved with players and the fact that her father is throwing her into Stone’s sphere means she’s going to be spending a lot of time with her one night stand.
I really enjoyed the relationship between this couple. With their lighthearted banter and their ability to talk openly with each other, it felt as though Stone and Savannah became friends first, even if it was after their one night stand. This is a very low angst read with no ow/om drama. The steam level is extreme once they get involved and we have some dirty talk from Stone that would make any woman melt. The beginning was a bit slow after their initial meeting but once they meet again things picked up the pace.
Overall, this was a great read perfect for those who like less drama and more relationship mixed in with their football.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Loveswept. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I’m going to be honest the hot cover is what caught my attention with this book- although it doesn’t quite fit my view of the characters.
Originally, I thought okay sounds good..but this book was a better than good. IT was a ton of fun. I love witty banter and Bad Business had it in spades. Snarky, witty, and flirtatious banter- I was smiling the whole time. That’s not all!
Sexy, sweet football player and the slightly taboo owners daughter…yeah. What you don’t know is that sexy, sweet guy is a filthy talker in the bedroom and yes he gets it done. Deliciously entertaining and definitely worth some naughty flashbacks…Bad Business is everything but bad.
It’s naughty.
It’s hot.
It’s sweet.
It’s funny.
Nothing bad about it…well except I’m done and there’s no more to this story…
Nope, still not bad!
Savannah Andrews has heard stories about the famed Jason Stone, and remained adamant that she would never fall for a guy like him… then she came face to face with him and learned for herself what the man behind the stories was all about, and she was instantly smitten. As far as the rumors of his looks and prowess in the bedroom he definitely lived up to the hype surrounding him, but he also had an unexpected softer side to him, one that apparently she was the only one lucky enough to see, other than his family. But, there was a part of her that was always hesitant to get fully invested, constantly reminding her that he wasn’t a man that could handle attachments or do forever, so she made a vow to not let herself get too attached. But the more time she spent with him the harder it was to convince herself not to dream about a happily ever after…
Jason Stone lives for the game, he wakes up every morning focused on football, and his job to get his team to the big game at the end of the season, which leaves little room for distractions… namely beautiful women wanting more than he can give them. But then he meets one that sneaks past his radar and quickly makes herself right a home in his heart, and he isn’t quite sure how to handle it. He has never really pictured the forever kind of thing like his brother has, for himself, it’s always just been football, and doing what he loves. But after one passionate night with Savannah he knows that once isn’t going to be enough to quench the undying thirst he has for her… but that means making room in his life for someone else, and he has never been down this road before… question is can he handle the challenge?
Bad Business is an intoxicating mix of naughty and nice, it has moments that you have you feeling the heat, and moments the will put the squeeze on your heart… it’s downright amazing!! This first time read had me completely mesmerized from the very first paragraph, Ms. Edwards wonderfully crafted characters wandered onto the page, the playful banter ensued, they had me smiling, intrigued, and not wanting to walk away until I had devoured every last word! I am a sucker for a well written sports romance story, that comes equipped with a slightly cocky and oh so sexy alpha running the show, and I am happy to report this one had that in spades…translation I LOVED IT! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, Mr. Stone is sure to leave you highly satisfied!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed.
3.75 stars–BAD BUSINESS is the second instalment in Nicole Edwards’ contemporary, adult BAD BOYS OF SPORTS erotic, romance series of stand alone stories. This is thriry-four year old starting quarterback for the Dallas Wranglers Jason Stone, and the team’s PR rep thirty year old Savannah Andrews’ story line.
Told from dual first person points of view (Stone and Savannah) BAD BUSINESS follows the building relationship between starting quarterback for the Dallas Wranglers Jason Stone, and the team’s PR rep Savannah Andrews. Discovering his most recent one-night stand is the boss’ daughter didn’t sit well with our story line hero but his interest and fascination with Savannah Andrews was everything he had hadn’t expected and more. Forced to work together, as the team ventured towards the playoff championships, Savannah and Stone would begin a secret relationship that will be exposed by a vindictive media personality. What ensues is the growing love and romance between Savannah and Stone, and the potential fall-out as Stone must consider his future with the team.
BAD BUSINESS is a fun and flirty story line, with two sexy and sassy characters who are willing to risk their reputations for their time together. The premise is entertaining and engaging-there is very little angst or conflict between our leading couple, something I would have expected given the circumstances of how they met and their one-night stand. The romance is seductive and hot; the characters are dynamic and energetic. BAD BUSINESS is a heart warming and animated story line –the perfect read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Jason Stone has been playing pro football quarterback for 13 years and at 34, is ready to retire like his older brother, Jeremy already did. But Jeremy only has 2 Super Bowl rings and Jason wants to win his 4th. His final year, he has been picked up by his home town team the Dallas Wranglers and is guiding the fledgling team to the playoffs. Savannah is the daughter of the Wrangler’s owner. She has worked hard working her way up in the organization and now runs the public relations department. They meet at a bar. She knows who he is and is not interested, but somehow their sizzling chemistry, and encouragement by her best friend Allison leads her to a one night stand. She Ubers out, before he wakes up, but he doesn’t stop thinking about this mysterious woman. And then finally finds her at a party at her father’s house. Her father wants her to get close to Jason to convince him to sign up for another two years. Jason agrees, because he wants to get closer to Savannah. Neither Jason and Savannah believe in marriage as Jason’s father left when he was two and Savannah’s mother left when she was 7. However, all their siblings are happily married. Might they have a future together? Might their parents have a future together in a future book?
While the series is called Bad Boys, Jason is not bad at all. He gives his all to his games, believes he is only part of a team and calls his mother every day. The characters are appealing, the story line unusual and the chemistry between the two main characters is sweet and hot. The dialogue is easy to read and witty and there is even a villain. A scintillating read, I was lucky to have procured an ARC from netgalley.com.
When Jason Stone sees Savannah Andrews at the club something about her calls to him and being he can have the pick of any woman in the room he has to meet her. Savannah knows all about his reputation so when he comes to her table she doesn’t fall at his feet which makes him really want to know her. The encounter ends up as a one night stand and Stone thinks about her a lot but when he is called into the owners office there she is the daughter of the owner. Stone is very dedicated to the game but the owner wants him to sign for another year or two even though he wants to retire so her dad tells her to befriend him and find out. Well hanging out together doesn’t get the answers just makes them closer and they have to try and keep their affair hidden from nosy reporters. Savannah and Stone are smokin hot together and it’s hard to keep that kind of flame going and win the super bowl.
