This has to be one of the best books I have read this year. I absolutely loved it. The storyline was absolutely amazing and had me hooked. I honestly couldn’t read fast enough. I absolutely recommend everyone reads this.
Another amazing read by one of my favorite authors! I can’t believe I didn’t realize until I was a third of the way into this book that Mascen is Maddox and Emma’s son. I think Mascen and Rory top his parents as my new favorite couple. Bad Boys Break Hearts is a friends to enemies to lovers, bad boy romance that had me captivated from the very first word all the way to the last when I was left wanting more.
Rory and Mascen were once inseparable, childhood friends until tragedy strikes and they are pulled apart. 10 years later, both now in college, they reconnect and see each other again. The strong connection they once shared is back like they were never apart, but now they are older and anger, tension and angst are mixed into the relationship they once had.
The tension between these two was off the charts! There is a very thin line between hate and love and these two are toeing the line between the two the whole book. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, turning the pages to see who would break first.
Rory and Mascen were a breath of fresh air. I’ve been in a bit of a book funk lately and these two managed to pull me out of it and left me with one heck of a book hangover. I loved the back and forth banter between Rory and Mascen and it had me cracking up throughout the whole book. Overall, the characters were amazing and I cannot wait to see what Micalea has in store for us next!
I enjoyed this book! It was an easy, feel-good read! A nice addition to the Willow Creek characters!
What can I say I love Micalea Smeltzer as an author I read everything she writes! She is such an amazing and well rounded author! This book is such an emotional roller coaster you will be sure to have your heart wrenching and laughing. Also if you love the Willow creek series this is Emma and Maddox’s son. So you see cameos of Emma and Maddox, Willow and Dean, Liam and Ari and of course all the hedgehogs! If you are looking for a good read to kick off the summer look no further this will suck you in and keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end!!!
Enjoyed the young adult angst romance. Rory and Mascen had to learn to deal with and overcome their issue with circumstances and family problems from their past to learn to appreciate and be deserving of each other . Have to say, their was some pretty steamy chemistry also. The supporting characters we wonderful through the whole story Also . Always love what Micalea writes .
I’ve read pretty much all of this author’s book and I always look forward to a new release from her! I saw this book being revealed and I instantly knew I wanted to read it! The cover is seriously hot and the synopsis sounded intriguing! I then received an early copy and I started reading it as soon as I did! After reading, I can say that I loved this book a lot! The plot kept me wanting to read on and find out what was going to happen next and it developed at the perfect pace! There was also plenty of romance in the plot and I enjoyed the love/hate relationship between the two main characters! It allowed for quite a bit of sexual tension and a few seriously hot scenes! There wasn’t any action or suspense in the plot, but I wasn’t expecting any because I knew going in that the main focus was going to be romance! I loved the way the romance developed as well because it took a while for the characters to actually start a relationship! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Aurora ‘Rory’ was the main female character, and I felt for her in this book because Rory had been through a horrible situation and it still had an impact on her years later! I liked Rory a lot in this book and I had a lot of respect for her! She got to college on her own and she was trying to live her best life and get a career for herself! Rory also didn’t have any family surrounding her, but she found some good friends in this book! Mascen was the main male character and love interest of Rory! Mascen was the big man on campus and he was well-known and always had girls after him! Mascen was hiding things underneath his façade though and he felt like he was never enough for his father and that he didn’t pay any attention to him! This had a massive impact on Mascen and made him feel inadequate! I liked Mascen and I liked the way he was with Rory! I loved that this book was written from both Rory and Mascen’s point of views! I wasn’t sure if it was going to be written from dual point of view because the synopsis gives the impression that it’s going to be written from the female character’s point of view! I’m really happy that it was written from both characters point of views because Rory and Mascen were going through their own problems and situations and trying to deal with them! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well! I can also completely understand why this book is a standalone! I’m really sad that it is, but everything in the plot was wrapped up and The ending was also left at the perfect place for the characters and summed up their story brilliantly! I know can’t wait to see what this author is going to release next! I think I’ve read all but one of her other books, so I’m excited to see what her next release is going to be! I’ll be reading it regardless! As I said at the beginning of this review, the cover for this book is seriously hot! I love how well it suits the book and the cover model is the perfect Mascen! It would definitely draw me to the book as well!
This book is now my favorite book from Micalea. Yes, Mascen was a jerk but there was just something about him that made me love him. I also loved that Rory gave him back sass and wasn’t a doormat. I just loved every thing about this book.
A new adult romance mixed with an enemies-to-lovers trope, Bad Boys Break Hearts was fantastic! Rory and Mascen get off to a rocky start and it was intriguing to see what will happen with these two especially since they were the best of friends when they were kids. There is so much more to Mascen than meets the eye and I couldn’t wait to dive more into him. Rory was such a great heroine. Dealing with what she had to but then trying to make the best of herself in spite of it was inspiring. The push and pull, the tension between Rory and Mascen was so potent. I was just waiting for them to combust and it was glorious when it finally happened and these two let their guards down. I also enjoyed the supporting cast and it was awesome seeing some familiar Wades. This story had the right amount of strain, sweet, hot, and fun moments. Overall a great read.
Micalea Smeltzer you brilliant beautiful author. Bad Boys Break Hearts is the ULTIMATE enemies to lovers romance. THE. ULTIMATE. Off the charts chemistry, electric sparks, brilliant banter, perfect heat, and swoon…oh the swooooooooon! I full on devoured this unputdownable read in an afternoon. I was hooked from the sweet beginning all the way to the even sweeter ending. Mascen and Rory were so fanfreakingtastic I don’t even know what to do with myself now.
Their shared past, their discovery of who they are now, the battles they had on their bumpy road to happiness. Gah, just every little bit of their story had me desperate for more. More words, more fights, more barbs, more love. I was over here reading this like “MORE MORE MORE!”
You’ve created an addict here. I’m hooked on Mascen and Rory.
After a traumatic childhood event Rory is happy to be in college. She’s loving her new roommates & excited to be on her own. Things are finally turning around for her until she bumps into Mascen Wade, her childhood friend.
Mascen can’t believe Rory is at the same college he’s at. He has a lot of built up anger over the years & Rory just happens to be in his path of destruction. He gives her a hard time whenever he sees her but he’s surprised that she comes back at him twice as hard. He’s angry at her for moving away & he’s confused about the feelings he has for her. Rory has had enough of people treating her badly & she has no problem putting Mascen in his place. Will Mascen continue destroying his chance at love, and when will Rory realize enough is enough?
Mascen is hot & cold so many times that Rory has to decide if she’s willing to put up with it or if she deserves someone better. Mascen has to deal with unresolved issues with his dad before he can finally move forward with Rory. This was a great read & I’m looking forward to the next one!
Oh, Mascen Wade (fans self)! I adored Mascen and Rory. The banter, the love/hate, enemies to lovers, childhood friends and a college romance. These are some of my favorite things in a story!
I absolutely devoured this book.
Mascen is the quintessential bad boy, big man on campus, athlete and playboy. He has a black book a mile long. He is rich, being the son of Willow Creeks drummer, but he doesn’t want the spotlight.
Rory Abbott’s life was turned upside down at 8 years old. She works hard to get away from a life she despised. Attending Aldridge was a dream and one she was going to fulfill.
Mascen and Rory haven’t seen each other in 10 years. With lots of missteps, growing and soul searching they discover they were always meant to be. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. Definitely another 5 star read from Micalea!
I loved, loved ,loved this book so much a brilliant story of the princess and her dragon!!!!!
Mascen and Rory were like 2 peas in a pod best friends as kids did everything and anything together even having there very own fake wedding… then rory was gone!!
Now shes back!!!!!
This is a brilliantly written enemies to lovers story , a story full of angst and heartache its witty and steamy with a fantastic set of characters that make you swoon and some characters that you just want to slap ,the banter is fantastic making this a really enjoyable read and I really hope we get more.
This book takes us back to the Willow Creek gang. Mascen and Rory have been friends all their lives. Life separates them, but they find themselves in the same place when she goes to college. This book was angsty, funny, and romantic. She at first brings all the bad out in him, but all that hate melts around both of them. This coming of age friends to lovers book was so good. Seeing her put him in his place was really funny. Highly recommend!!!
Another five star read from Micalea Smeltzer.
Rory is finally on her own, breaking free from the restraints of living at home with her mother. She is heading to the college of her choice on a full ride scholarship. What she doesn’t expect is whom she will find at college.
Mascen has it all – fame, fortune, good grades, athletic and sexual prowess but what he also has in spades is an asshole attitude. He is the man all the others would love to be and all the ladies would love to be with even though he is a lust them and leave them kind of guy. Then he sees HER!
Friends when they were children, ripped from each other when tragedy strikes the one family. Ten years later they are brought together again but now they love to hate each other.
Emotions run high in this story of love, loss, and the discovery of personal strength and the unique and strange dynamics that run through family relationships.

I absolutely loved this book! Rory was my favorite kind on h. He was funny, sassy and wasn’t afraid to be herself. Let’s not forget the names that she had for Mascen, some of them really cracked me up! Now let’s talk Mascen. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about him in the beginning because he was just a jerk but he redeemed himself and I feel in love with him. I also love how a Lorelei was thrown in there because what is a Rory without a Lorelei?
