Emotionally driven storyline that will make you mad, wonder, smile and bring a tear to your eye while covering life’s challenges. This book had great main characters that intertwined with twisted characters covering various situations in life.
So-so. General storyline engaging but formulaic.
Bad Boy Rich surprised me…this was a fast paced read full of unexpected angst, a really really hard to love MC and all the feels! This was not your typical “Bad Boy” read for sure and I really enjoyed it.
‘Bad Boy Rich’ by Kat T. Masen is technically a sequel to ‘Kicking Reality’. But don’t worry it can be read on its own with out having read ‘Kicking Reality’.
I am a HUGE fan of Kat’s writing and have read and loved every single one of her books. If Kat is a new author to you I promise you won’t be disappointed with her work.
I knew going in to this book that is was going to be a bit of a hard read, but I was really looking forward to it. After reading KA (Emerson and Logan’s story) I couldn’t wait to read Wesley story.
‘Bad Boy Rich’ follows the lives of ‘Hollywood Bad Boy’ Wesley Rich and ‘small town girl’ Milana Milenov.
Milana is forced to move from her hometown in Alaska to Los Angeles to take a job as a Personal Assistant to Emerson Chase. After loosing her job back at home and her mother Katya’s health getting worse, Milly is given no choice but to move with her brother Flynn to take on this new job that pays more so she is able to pay for a full time care at a facility that will be able to help look after Katya.
But when her boss is unable to attend a meeting with her business partner Milana offers to go in her place. Which is she meets Wesley for the second time, but not being able to recognise him being cleaned shaved.
Milana’s affections for Wesley grow beyond what she thought, but having to hid her relationship with Wesley from her boss Emerson isn’t easy and the jealousy she has to deal with listening to all the story of Wesley isn’t something she thought she would have to deal with.
But when you are not good for the person you love and the person you love isn’t good for you, you end up with one toxic relationship.
This story will not disappoint you and I highly recommend reading it. There is so much that happens in this book it will have you on the end of your seat turning each and every page wanting to know what is going to happen. Thanks again Kat for writing another great book.
I love me some Kat T. Masen, and while I loved certain parts of this book, I had so many mixed emotions about it. I usually fly through her books, but this one was hard for me to grasp. Maybe because I read Kicking Reality, and saw Wesley from that book and wasn’t exactly a fan of his. Maybe because I really just didn’t like Wesley’s behavior. Spoiled rich kid wanting someone to fix him, when in reality, he’s the one that needs to step up and fix his self.
This book started out with me totally digging it. Milana and her sass, and her passion for her mom. She was a good girl with her heart in the right place, but she meets Wesley and it’s like everything changes. Not really in a good way, more like it’s toxic. The relationship her and Wesley have is so strange. She basically loses herself and gets pulled into his darkness. Don’t get me wrong, they are both messed up, so it’s not more one person’s fault than the others, but things went from zero to sixty in two seconds flat and the two had so much to learn about themselves and each other. One minute Milana is with Liam, the next she’s with Wesley and he’s obsessed with her. Their whole relationship was extremely unhealthy, in my opinion anyways. Wesley also just does some things that are freaking messed up. I get it, he’s effed in the head, but dude was an over the top, dramatic little rich boy, who frankly got on my last nerve. I also went from really liking Milly, to kind of… not hating her, but wanting to smack her a few times to knock some sense into her.
So I’m re-reading this and it sounds like I hated the book lol. I didn’t hate it, it just wasn’t exactly a favorite of mine. I think the ending was probably my favorite part because, these two messed up people, who genuinely do love each other, finally get their crap together and get their HEA. It also reminded me that, okay, yes, people are not perfect, and maybe they did things in the past that seem un-redeemable, but people can change. It might take something great to do it, but people can change for the better and in both cases, I’m glad it happened for them. Now if you want to read a book full of angst and drama and just an all around whirlwind of crazy, this book is for you. It may not have been my favorite book by this author, but I’m still a big fan of her writing and can’t wait to read more from her.

Wow, what an emotional read. Small town girl Milana moves to the big city after enduring a week from hell, she needs to move for a better pay check. It’s sad the circumstances why she had to move, it’s a lot to put on a young person shoulder. She meets arrogant bad boy Wesley Rich. You’re probably not going to like this guy needy, selfish, toxic, self- absorbed. Sometimes you don’t know if he’s coming or going, his moods change so rapidly. He can be a sweet guy then a completely jerk. Lots of ups and downs makes this read so emotional, the pain and hurt from both characters. I enjoyed my first read of Kat.
Definitely enjoyed this one!! It was angsty and emotional, not your typical bad boy story…..it was better. This is Wes and Milana’s story and I adored them both in own special ways. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down.
This story swirls around in your mind for a bit. Both Milana and Wesley are tortured by their own inner demons. Maybe that is why they are so drawn to one another even though the both know the bubble they created could blow-up in their faces.
Wesley is broody, Milana is innocent.
There are so many layers of angst; rejection, addiction, guilt and acceptance. Out of that angst there is a yearning by both of them to be better and maybe they need each other to be better together. I really enjoyed this story.
“I was covered in sins and she was my holy water. She was the only person left who could save me.”
This is my first read by this author so I didn’t know what to expect. The writing was really good and the character creation and development was superb. I loved the secondary characters. The plot was fairly simple. The bad boy Wesley was very unlikeable at the beginning of the story and it took awhile for his story to unfold and his reasons for his bad behavior to be revealed. His past was heartbreaking. His personality flips were a little off putting but understandable as the story progressed. Milana is a beautiful character with so much strength and endurance. She’s marvelous as she deals with family drama, a new job in a new city, her separation from her mother, Phoebe and Liam, and her fascination with Wes. You knew either she would bring Wes up or he would take her down. At the start of their relationship I didn’t feel the connection the two and the set ups for their meets were a little too pat. Also, I didn’t understand some of Milana’s actions even with the explanation of her past. Overall a good read. This story takes you on a very emotional, angsty ride that will provide a few tears, laughs and good feels as our lovers figure it out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I’m a big fan of this author and have read all her books so I’d already been introduced to bad boy Wesley Rich. Let’s just say he didn’t leave the best impression on me so going into his book, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
Wesley is the stereotypical troubled bad boy with a large dose of attitude. But there’s more to him than he shows. I’m probably in the minority but the more I got to know Wesley, the more I found myself liking him. Sometimes I got the feeling a lot of his attitude/actions were just for show and he has a surprisingly sweet side that he doesn’t show to many people. Thrown into the spotlight hasn’t been easy for him to deal with and I think deep down he’s lonely and desperate for company/an escape/to be treated ‘normal’. There’s a vulnerability about Wesley that drew me to him and even when he was blowing hot and cold, there was still something that intrigued me about him.
Milana is under a lot of pressure. Emotionally blackmailed by her mum (who had good intentions) into moving from Alaska to California with her brother Flynn, she’s dealing a lot of stuff. She’s lonely, struggling to do what she needs to do and seems to suffer from a lot of guilt even though she’s always putting herself last. When she bumps into a rude, cocky Wesley they don’t get off on the right foot but when they’re thrown together, they both find the escape they’re looking for.
Both these characters are flawed, racked with insecurities and seem like opposites but for some reason they gravitate to each other. I really enjoyed this book and even though there were times I disliked the characters, their mistakes/imperfections made them feel more real and I couldn’t help but like them.
I don’t even know how to start this review but by golly was Wesley the Bad Boy that this title of the book said he was going to be.
He was so much a bad boy i didn’t like him to begin with and i really wasn’t sure how is character was going to reform but as i kept reading i thought surely something will happen and as the story went it had me turning the page because i was thinking that he was always going to be a bad boy.
Milana was a troubled girl who had too much responsibility for her young age and this book touched on so many different relationships but the love that Milana has for her mother showed such an amazing bond between the two them.
Rich i felt went from bad to worse in this book and you could see the self destruction and there were timed i just wasn’t sure about him. But i felt that these two both kinda had to hit Rock bottom to get back where they needed too.
This book made me laugh, made me cry and had me hanging on until the very end. I love the way Kat t Masen writes such an easy read with amazing storyline and this book was no expectation really really enjoyed it.

This book is fantastic, it’s jam packed with emotions, and will take you on one hell of a ride.
Milana is forced to leave her hometown Alaska and mother behind, to take on a job in L.A to help pay the bills.
She lands the job as a personal assistant to Emerson Chase, not knowing whom she really is. Wesley Rich is Emerson’s business partner and also EX, but of course Milana is oblivious to all this knowledge until she decides to look him up.
Her first encounter with Rich was, well unpleasant, her 2nd encounter wasn’t any better, but it wasnt until her third encounter that she started to see him for more than the arrogant prick he is.
This is not your average love story, this is far more complex, it’s not dark at all but has some dark aspects.
It contains, love, lies, drugs and alcohol.
I really enjoyed this book and is my favorite Kat Masen read.
