The loss of his brother sends Brody Asher from Hollywood Golden Boy to Hollywood Bad Boy. When he might lose a blockbuster movie role because of his new reputation, he agrees to first do a small indie movie to clean up his image.Arriving on location, he’s not ready for the family politics and mystery surrounding the movie script that was based on a real life murder. And he’s most definitely not … definitely not ready to fall in love with the person that was the reason for the murder in the first place, or the fact that no one is supposed to know about her.

This book was sad but sweet. I loved the story line and the way the characters were developed. This story makes you sad, laugh and unable to stop turning the pages until it’s over.
Go read it, you won’t be disappointed.
A Wild & Passionately Romantic Story!!
4.5 Stars
Bad Boy Brody
A well written & captivating read by this author. Unusually, this a straight up romance but with a twist of grief & thriller running through it. The pace is spot on as are the character’s. The world build is beautifully scenic. The wild mustang herd is such an integral part of the plot of this tale, they’re as necessary as Brody as Morgan – Without them there wouldn’t be the Morgan we have!
I highly recommend this gorgeous, emotive wildly passionate tale!

I listened to this book on Audible – Tijan has a depth to her characters that adds a vulnerability underneath their strength, which makes them more relatable to me. Brody oozed confidence while having moments of uncertainty thanks to recent loss. I loved that he felt a protectiveness toward Morgan and was willing to use whatever he had to help keep her safe. Morgan is a character like none I’ve seen before. Her connection to the mustangs and ability to survive in the wild makes her feel like someone from a different time period. I loved seeing how the two worlds came together and how Brody and Morgan were able to get through the obstacles thrown at them; I loved them so much that I was saddened by what seemed like an abrupt ending. I need more and would have loved a final view inside Brody’s head.
Bad Boy Brody by Tijan was my first introduction to this author. I really enjoyed the writing style, the story and just everything about the story. Amazingly, the characters pain and emotions were very real and believable. And how both, Morgan and Brody seemed to heal each other and grow, very raw and sweet. The different worlds that each character came from were woven together seemlessly. Captured my attention from the first chapter till the end!
Everything about this book was so deep, emotional and heartbreaking. Such a multi-layered storyline with incredible characters and a well thought out plot.
My heart shattered for Brody, it ripped to shreds for Morgan and it was slowly stitched back together piece by piece by their developing relationship and true understanding of one another. Two more unlikely individuals couldn’t have made a better match.
The horses in this book were some of the most endearing characters I’ve ever read, human, animal or otherwise. The bond between animals and humans is one that’s often hard to put into words and Tijan did a sensational job articulating the unbreakable connection. I got quite teary eyed at the end, battling between being sad and being overjoyed for Morgan and her herd.
I listened to this book on audio and the narration was spectacular! The narrators really brought out the emotion and uncertainty of all of the characters. A 5-star read!!!
I am glad I picked this book over some others with a bunch of angst. I really loved Brody. He was true to Morgan as soon as he saw her and that is a big thing for me. I have read two of Tijan’s books now and each time I read other people’s reviews, they say “this isn’t like regular Tijan.” I honestly liked both this book and the other one I read so much that I am not sure I want to experience the “true Tijan”. Brody and Morgan were soulmates and their chemistry came off the pages for me. I really would have liked more of Matthew’s POV and I also wonder if anything more ever happened between him and Morgan. I liked the suspense aspect of this book as well. It’s a great romance, but I am not sure the title fits. I understand why it was chosen, but Brody didn’t seem all that bad to me.
Little Miss Tijan; here you go breaking my heart and putting it back together again. Bad Boy Brody was such an inspiring read. I learned life lessons. My heart broke. I laughed. I cried. My emotions were all over the place. It has been a long time since I’ve seen an author have this kind of talent with character development.
Morgan – my favorite little wild one – starts out with having nothing but the countryside and her fierce companions by her side. She learns to face her fears by pushing herself to the limit day after day, just so she can get a peek into the life of my favorite Hollywood heartthrob – Bad Boy Brody. Their story together is nothing short of incredible. They’re two people from two completely different worlds. Throughout the whole book, we get to watch how they fight for each other and for themselves, and both come out as better people than they were before. And the best part about the whole thing? Brody’s not an overbearing asshole, he’s a man that supports, understands, and gives Morgan her space to find herself.
I loved loved loved it! Thank you for the heartwarming story.
This book wasn’t what I was expecting, and I’m not sure how to correctly put into words how I feel about it. Bad Boy Brody is unlike anything I’ve ever read, and I feel like it is one that will stick with me for a long time.
Brody Asher was Hollywood’s up & coming golden boy, until a horrific accident threw him into a tailspin that threatened to ruin his reputation. Haunted by the phone call that ended his life as he knew it, Brody drowns himself in liquor and avoidance, until he is given an ultimatum – star in a small indie film and earn back respect, or kiss his career goodbye.
Morgan is her family’s deep dark secret, preferring to live her life with a herd of wild horses than humans. After being convinced to allow a movie to be filmed on her land, her peaceful life is overrun by chaos & people. Her siblings take the opportunity to try and get her back, but it’s a stranger that captivates her, and has her questioning where she really belongs.
While the chemistry is magnetic between Brody & Morgan, this isn’t just a love story. There are so many other plots and characters involved, and I was hooked immediately. This book is about trust and friendship, of loyalty and love, and hidden secrets always come out, no matter how long they are buried. This story is so unexpected, and welcoming, and evolved many times throughout. This is definitely one of my favorite reads this year, and I highly recommend it!
This story was really quite beautiful. The way these two broken people came together and healed each other. Brody and Morgan.
Brody had experienced something that pretty much crushed his heart. Instead of getting help, he drank and slept around. He got so bad that his reputation in Hollywood was at stake. He went from Golden Boy to Bad Boy Brody. That is how he ended up at Morgan’s home. It’s was the movie about her mother and Peter Kellerman (her stepfather) that was going to help start changing his reputation. But he was still drinking and still fighting his demons.
Then one day he saw a ghost…
Well, he saw Morgan actually. But the way she showed up and then disappeared, she seemed like a ghost. But actually Morgan was broken too. Ever since the day her mother was murdered. Her heart was crushed, and her way of getting help was through her pack of Wild Horses. But she wasn’t really healing, not truly.
It was so beautiful, so touching, but heartbreaking and upsetting too. These two beautiful souls had been through so very much, and had lost so much. But in the end they came together, they were drawn to each other. It was like their broken hearts spoke to each other. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t easy at all. But these two broken hearts came together and healed each other. It was beautiful, touching and very romantic. I loved this story!
*A Side note…I loved Morgan’s relationship with the horses. The way Tijan described the activity of the pack. It was all so perfect. I could easily visualize all of it.
I really didn’t know what to expect from this book when i first started reading it, i knew it had to do with Hollywood but that was it and i love a good book about actors but i have to say this was so much more than i thought it could ever be.
I don’t think this about many books but this one will stay in my heart that’s for sure. I don’t know what it was but the way Tijan writes and how she gets you into the story and the connection that she can write between her characters is amazing, but when she writes about a main character and her connection to wild horses blew me away.
Even though Brody was pegged as a Bad boy he had his reason and they were heartbreaking, what he went though with losing his brother and being in the spotlight you knew he had a good heart. Brody is an amazing male hero and i loved him it was hard to let people in but when he did it was awesome to read.
Morgan i feel was one of my favourite characters ever, she was strong and wild and so in tune with nature and her wild mustangs, the relationship between her and her horses was beautiful and loved how she could be one with them. Another character who had a terrible past and the only way she knew how to deal was run and hide but at the same time she was brave but guarded. Even though her ending was happy my heart still broke when she said goodbye to something she loved.
When i was reading this book i felt like i was in the story and i could feel all the connections and the feeling free from what some of the characters experienced in this book. You were there for the happy, sad and heartbreaking times and i could just picture this book in my head like a movie.
The plot for this book was amazing and i didn’t want to put the book down. I cried, i was in shock there were times when the story went in a different direction and had me guessing about how this book was going to end.
If your a fan of Tijan then you will not want to miss reading this book i absolutely loved it and was just so beautiful
Massive 5 Stars
Wow I’m speechless. When I read the review of this book I wasn’t as interested as I am with Tijan stories. Although Tijan wrote it and I read every thing she does so I just pushed to start it. OMG.. Couldn’t put it down , what an magical story. I must say Tijan never disappoints
Despite the cover having horses on them, I honestly didn’t know what I was getting into with Bad Boy Brody. The blurb makes it seems like Brody is this big Hollywood star who has gone bad. And in some sense, he has but the heart of this book is about discovering who you are and finding peace with who you want to become.
When Brody set foot in Montana he had no idea that his life was about to completely change. Morgan was the one to help him heal from his past but he didn’t realize how much he helped her heal from hers as well.
Morgan is a wild spirit. Since her mother’s murder, she’s been living more out in the wild with the horses than she has with the human world. Her soul speaks to them and she has this connection with them that can’t be rivaled. Until Brody.
While the title is called Bad Boy Brody and this is about his story, I really think Morgan and the horses stole the show for me. I think horses are majestic, beautiful and amazingly intuitive. Tijan did an amazing job describing the herd and built this untouchable relationship between Morgan and the horse that completely sucked me in.
If you are looking for a beautiful and majestic way to bring two lost souls together then you need to read Bad Boy Brody now!
What a wonderful, unique story. Brody & Morgan both come from two entirely different worlds, Brody being a movie star and Morgan who lives in the wild. They each have their own heartbreak and their unexpected connection brings changes to their worlds.
I love the way this story unfolds. It’s not your typical movie star story and I loved its uniqueness. Morgan and Brody take root in your heart. I was in awe of Morgan. She had such an impressionable personality and the way she lived makes you view life from an entirely different perspective. And Brody was so sincere and down to earth and caring. I loved how protective he was of Morgan.
I loved Morgan and Brody’s connection and how they could relate to each other. It was beautiful to watch them both heal through each other and allow themselves to let their guards down. The growth of their friendship and bond is heartwarming and I really enjoyed their story! I also enjoyed the element of mystery and not knowing who could be trusted.
This is a beautiful story of letting go of the past and letting people in. It’s a story of new beginnings, freedom, sacrifice, and love, and you feel it all! It will captivate you from the start.
WOW! Tijan has just wowed me again!
I will state that it took me few chapters to completely draw me in, but her chapters are short and it was no more than five chapters-tops-before I was hooked and knew I wouldn’t stop reading until I devoured every page.
The book begins with Brody, a star, losing his brother, setting off a chain of events in his life that leads to the title “Bad Boy Brody”. He isn’t necessarily proud of the title he’s achieved since his brothers death, but he is trying to start a road to making amends so he can get his career back on track.
“As if overnight, I had gone from Hollywood’s heartthrob to their bad boy. And that brought us to the whole reason I was being driven to somewhere I didn’t want to be to work on a movie I didn’t want to be a part of.”
A movie promising Oscar buzz means the title of “Bad Boy Brody” might disappear which could mean bigger movies in Brody’s future, which is exactly what he is after. Brody promised to take on the potential Oscar winning role of Peter Kellerman, the man behind a global franchise of Kellerman Hotels. But the movie wasn’t about how he made his millions, no, it was about how he fell in love and then how his wife was murdered.
“Unbroke. That was the name of the movie, a term used about a horse that wasn’t trained…..The movie was about my mother, but why would they use that term? She’d been broken.”
Morgan Kellerman was wild and free. A girl left behind after her mother was murdered. Her step-siblings and stepfather all left after her mother had been murdered, and she’d been left behind like unwanted dishware. Morgan stayed on the very land in which her mother had been murdered, only visiting the home when it was necessary as she was much more in harmony with the wild mustangs of the land than any of the people who ever lived there.
“She didn’t want something from me. She didn’t see me with dollar signs in her eyes. She was pure. She was innocent. And she had no idea how rare she was.”
When Morgan and Brody meet the wild attraction is instant and the pure innocence is underlying and raw. Something continues to draw these two back together. Or as Brody puts it, Morgan continues to find him because she only reveals herself when she wants to be found. Brody is fascinated by her yes, but he’s also desperate to be near her in a way he’s never been desperate to be near anyone else in his entire life. Morgan can’t understand why she feels drawn to Brody over and over until she learns of his own struggles. Two souls grieving together and understanding each others pain.
“There was something about Brody that made me not regret anything.”
They come from two different worlds. She’s wild and lives in the untamed world, and even though he was a notorious bad boy, he works hard and lives in the civilized world. Would they ever fit together in the real world?
Tijan will take you on an emotional journey that is wrought with turns and ups and downs. Bad Boy Brody is a page turner with tons of heart. You will love this book!!
Brody really doesn’t stand a chance with Morgan, the girl is just so pure and honest:
“Do you want to have *** with me?”
A mangled cry ripped from my throat. “I’m finding the more time I spend with you, the less control I have.”
“So you do want to have *** with me?”
I loved that Brody is so enamoured with his lady that he’s willing to do anything when he thinks something is wrong, yeah.” He raked a hand through his hair, letting the ends stick up into a deliciously rebel look. “Don’t know what the eff I was thinking about. I grabbed the first thing that’d get me to you.” His eyes narrowed, studying his horse. “I think I bonded with that thing.” If I could give this more than five stars I absolutely would, I loved this book.
I’m a huge fan of Tijan, I have every one of her books and loved all of them so I had huge expectations for this one as well. Still it was so unexpected in a good way. Bad boy Brody surprised me and it was quite different from the author usual stories. Oh, it still mainly focuses on the more traumatic spectrum of feelings and emotions but it’s interesting how much the fact that the plot is separate from the usual high school/college environment mixes up things and creates a completely different atmosphere. I absolutely loved it.
I’m going to try and not spoil anything about the actual storyline but let me say this that the book has a certain tension to it yet he pacing is pretty laid back. I enjoyed every minute of it. It strange because while I knew that I going to like it, as I do with every Tijan book, the first chapter scared me a bit because it was kind of generic and not at all what I’m used to from the author. However, as I continued on the second things got definitely better and better.
We got 2 broken and closed off main characters, whom for some reason gravitate towards each other from the first glimpse. They slowly open up for each other and find something that urge them to change and become something more. This book was utterly romantic, somewhat heart breaking and overly emotional. And while the main focus of the plot is basically the connection between the two characters you just know it from the beginning that there is something more sinister, cruel going on in the background. Alas the story would have been perfect just by following Morgan and Brody journey, but this underlying suspense gave the whole thing an extra nudge to it.
Morgan was a strange but endearing character, someone who was more comfortable in the wilderness among her horses but it was kind of a protective mechanism of hers. She turned off her emotions so she doesn’t have to deal with it, the heartache and the loneliness. Honestly while I liked her most of the times, in other occasion I found her actions a bit standoffish and inconsiderate, while she was brutally honest with her intentions she was a bit cold towards others.
Then there was Brody, who was constantly described as Bad Boy Brody, which was strange because we didn’t really see this side of him in the book. Yes, he drinks a lot but other than that he is pretty straight-laced. He was intrigued by Morgan from the first moment and the connection between them was beautifully phenomenal. They kind of existed on a different plane thorough the whole book.
This book was utterly enchanting, sweet and romantic. It was emotional but still less dramatic than you would expect from Tijan, but I liked it more for it. The last couple of chapters throw me off a bit but in the end I understood why there was a loop in the plot line.
Loved this book anything by Tijan is going to be a awesome read.
Bad Boy Brody was a good read. It’s a different kid of story. Brody is a big Hollywood movie star. His brother has passed away and it’s put him in a tailspin. He’s on set in the middle of pretty much no where when he meets Morgan. Morgan is wild and free. She has disconnected herself from the world. She actually pretty much lives out in the wild with mustangs. Morgan and Brody have an instant connection. They are both broken and drawn to each other. This one was weird for me, I was hooked on story and kept turning the pages but I wasn’t completely sold on Brody and Morgan’s relationship. I didn’t fully get Morgan but Brody does. I had this kind of ah ha moment towards the end that brought the story together for me.
You can NEVER go wrong with a Tijan book, although this one is a little different from her other books it is still a great read!
This may date me…or, if you show readers what my father subjected me to ever since I was little, regardless, though, every time I read the title of Tijan’s latest release, Bad Boy Brody, I always want to start singing that oldie song “Bad boy Leroy Brown!”
Here’s a little snippet if you’re unfamiliar with the lyrics:
And it’s bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old King Kong
And meaner than a junkyard dog
This song was released by Jim Croce in 1973, and while it doesn’t really connect with the hero of Tijan’s story, it does put into perspective just how easy it is to pass judgment on individuals based on isolated incidences and/or a series of events that showcase their negative qualities that the public clamps onto and refuses to understand the deeper issues involved.
Brody Asher definitely does a number on his ‘public image,’ but I can’t really blame him because the circumstances surrounding his meltdown are not ones that most people could handle, let alone fight through the anger, the pain, and the chaos within in front of a society who always seems ready and ever willing to knock people down without truly understanding the root of the issue and giving the support instead of the judgment that they deserve.
Morgan Kellerman is definitely an enigma; she lives a full life on her own terms and in her own way, and while readers’ connection with her character might be non-existent or a bit challenging due to Morgan’s nature and who and what she surrounds herself with, no one can deny the healing powers of the experiences that Morgan allows Brody to have and the bonds that are created from not taking anything for granted in this one life that people are given.
My review for Bad Boy Brody would be incomplete if I didn’t discuss an integral group of characters that help both Morgan and Brody to heal… in many ways, Brody and Morgan’s story speaks to their comeback, but I don’t think it’s the one Brody’s fans want for the Hollywood golden boy turn bad boy. The wild mustangs that Morgan sees as family…that she has an unbreakable bond with do so much for her and Brody. There’s a freedom involved in a relationship with animals…they don’t pass judgment…they don’t condemn choices, and it’s in their strength and in their ability to provide unconditional love that allows the humans who hold these wild creatures in their heart to endure…to do more than just exist.
At times, I’ll admit, the story line does get a bit confusing because of the multiple perspectives; it’s not that it overwhelmed me, but I guess I didn’t understand why they were all necessary. The plot does include some difficult content due to the subject matter of the indie film as well as the fact that someone closely tied to the real-life events becomes critical to Brody’s ‘comeback’ role as well as to the healing that takes place in his heart and in his head.
I’m not too sure how to characterize the story line that Tijan crafts for readers in Bad Boy Brody. There’s a uniqueness to it, based on its setting and the impact of a group of secondary characters – ones who are wild and free and teach Brody and Morgan what it means to experience life for what it is, forgetting all the bullshit and finding a place where the only person they need acceptance from is themselves and one another. It’s probably not what some of Tijan’s readers would expect from her, but I think it speaks volumes about the kind of writing she is and her willingness to put herself out there and write the story that spoke to her…that needed to be told, and it’s those kind of writers who I’ll gladly read over and over again.
