Cleopatra Paige hates one thing in this world – just one – and his name is Zachariah Prince. In grade school, he pulled at her pigtails. In middle school, he spread false rumors about her. And in high school, he ruined her prom. She hates that his smirks are unfairly sexy. And she definitely loathes that his dark eyes seem to follow her everywhere. Sometimes, even in her dreams. It doesn’t … in her dreams.
It doesn’t matter that he’s rich and popular or that he lives in a freaking mansion full of butlers and maids. He’s rude and arrogant, and she wants to stay as far away from him as possible.
But unfortunately for Cleo, she lives in the same freaking mansion as Zach.
Only he’s the prince and she’s the lowly maid who serves him.
NOTE: This is a STANDALONE, full length novel set in the world of St. Mary’s

This is the first Saffron A. Kent book I’ve read and I really liked it.
There was a good amount of drama that kept you on your toes.
Cleo or blue is a spitfire you never know what she’s gonna do next. She’s lived her own hell and come thru the other end.
Zack is a bad boy alpha, he doesn’t know what it’s like to be loved and pushes people away. But you really feel for him
Saffron did a great job writing this book the emotions leapt from the pages..
What a beautiful emotion tale of love and hate and the narrow bridge that divides the two. Cleo has spent years hating Zach for all the things he did and did not do. Three years after he abruptly left sue thinks maybe she has moved on, let it all go, whilst still working in his home for his family. But that all changes the second she realises his back. And it all comes back, with avengence. Except looking back was hate her first inclination when she laid eyes on him? Was it his? Or have they both got it all wrong? And how do you move forward and live the life you were meant to live without giving your feelings wings and letting them soar to the stars no matter the consequences? You will hopefully love this tale of love and hate and all the stuff in between as much as I have! Cleo and Zach are definitely a trip and you won’t regret going on their journey with them.
Once again Saffron makes me fall in love with another of her incredibly-written and angsty stories. Bad Boy Blues had me riveted so much that i finished this in one seating. Blue and her dark prince were equally captivating and igniting together. I loved every single moment of this book!
Oh. My. Goodness. I could write up a thousand million wonderful things about this book and it still wouldn’t be enough praise for Zach and Cleo’s story. I’m dead, gone. A total puddle on the floor. Saffron destroyed me with her words and there will be no coming back from a story as amazing as this one.
First of all, this is a hate to love story. My absolute favorite trope ever. It also happens to be incredibly well written and filled with so many beautiful achingly real quotes that I could just cry. The love written between these pages is tangible, it’s so real that it throbs and beats and leaps off the pages. I had actual physical reactions to this brilliant story, I felt dizzy and drunk on passion. The sexual chemistry that the two main characters share was nothing short of explosive and it caused real flushing, blushes and panting.
Zachariah Prince is easily one of the sexiest characters that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. My heart bled for him, my chest ached when he struggled and fluttered when he persevered. He’s the epitome of a bad boy and I could not possibly be more taken with him. I’d fight his fictional love for his undying love if she wasn’t so perfect herself. Blue is every single thing that I aspire to be. She’s so brave, proud and strong. She’s brimming with forgiveness and so much love that she shines from the inside out. These two mismatched souls are the perfect pairing, their tumultuous journey together is simply epic.
I truly believe that this story has something for everyone. I can’t imagine anyone not loving this story, I can’t imagine any sane woman not falling head over heels for the dark prince who stares at the stars. This is an absolute must read, don’t miss out!
I devoured this read in a matter of hours. I simply couldn’t put it down! 4.5/5 stars!
I cannot begin to tell you how deeply I felt this read and a connection to the amazing characters. So much of the content spoke to me on a very personal level. For an angsty, enemies to lovers, rich boy and the hired help story line, it sure had my eyes pooling and my nose sniffling. I did not expect to be hit in the feels as hard as I was by this incredible book!
The underlying issues in this read were unique and thought provoking. It was truly unlike any other romance book I’ve read. Topics such as bullying, physical and emotional abuse, terminal illness, developmental disabilities and grief were all tactfully addressed in this novel. There was so much below the artificial surface of the story.
Saffron A. Kent wrote such a profound and unique hero and made the heroine uncharacteristically perfect. Zach and Cleo will always hold a place in my heart.
Cleopatra Paige is working for the Prince family and she hates it, but she has one goal in mind and it is earn enough money to get her parents house back. When she finds out Zachariah Prince has returned she is furious and wants revenge, her tormentor and bully made her life miserable and she wants payback.
Zach has his own reasons for being the way he was with Cleo and he hides them well. He is the keeper of secrets and somehow despite his moves to push Cleo away she becomes his everything. Can the bad boy become a man Cleo can admire?
This was terrific. An enemies to lover story that hits all the marks. Zach was a jerk no doubt about it but Cleo is pure spunk, she has attitude to match her blue hair. Well worth picking up and reading.
I swear Saffron is the Queen it feels, this book was so full of emotions I found it hard to breathe at times. There is so much heartbreak, rollercoaster rides of emotions and it’s so much deeper than enemies to lovers. This is two sides colliding in a heart pounding journey that will have you turning pages so fast because you just can’t get enough of Zack and Cleo.
I absolutely adore this book
Wow words can’t even begin to describe how much I adored this book but heck, I’m gonna give it a try.
As soon as I read the info about this book it captured my attention, give me a enemies to lovers book and I’m putty in your hands, seriously that’s my main weakness in books, my absolute favourite.
and this book, this book was outstanding. Zach and Cleo’s story was a thing of beauty.
Zach is an asshole, a major asshole who happens to be a prince, one with a backstory that he keeps to himself. He’s secretive, broody and damn right gorgeous with a take no shit attitude. Cleo is beautiful, strong and an absolutely amazing woman. She’s a maid working at the place where the guy who tormented her used to live, a guy she hoped to never see again but things don’t always go your way, right?
Reading their story had me completely captivated. I couldn’t put the book down as soon as I started it, I loved it, I devoured it and now I’m sad it’s all over. I want more.
This is my first read from this author and I’m absolutely blown away. Saffron A Kent is an author I’m going to have to check out more of. Her words are phenomenal and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future.
Bad Boy Blues was fun, irritating and insanely hot with an alpha asshole and his poor Cinderella. It’s a book that’ll have you needing and wanting more.
I was so iffy at first b/c this reminded me way to much of LJ Shen’s Vicious. And I know people LOVE that book, but of that series that one is my least favorite. I don’t know why exactly.
BUT this book and Zach are so different after like 30-40%. I LOVE Zach. Do I love how he acted in high school? No! No I do not. But the current day Zach is repetitive in a way. He knows his mistakes, he takes ownership of them and he LOVES Blue/Cleo. You see that. You feel that.
Again ‘bully romances’ aren’t my jam but this one is.
An amazing read from Saffron A Kent!!
Saffron has quickly become one of my favourite authors! Whenever a new book is releasing, you can bet that I am going to grab it, and snatch it up as soon as possible.
Bad Boy Blues was one of those reads. Cleo and Zach are two characters who you cannot but help fall in love with. They are so opposite in everything they have ever had and done in their lives. One is more “upper” class than the other. They have no similarities. At least, on the surface they have no similarities. Once they start to get to know one another, things begin to change. They realize they might not be so different from each other. In fact, they may be exactly what the other person needs.
I highly recommend Bad Boy Blues to everyone!
5/5 Stars!
So, many a time I’m not a huge fan of a bully romance, but now I have added one more exception to this rule. This story started off a little difficult to connect to, for me, but quickly turned into a story I truly got into. These two characters were real and flawed, but gave such a great example of the twists and turns of life.
Zach’s life was ridiculously awful. I’m not sure I would’ve survived with parents like that. Blue suffers tragedy unimaginable, but somehow still functions. These two together had a tumultuous past, but it’s amazing what feelings are disguised by anger and meanness.
By the end, I was completely in love with Zach and he was kind of making me swoon.
Saffron never disappoints with her spectacular writing and her way with words. I was completely engulfed and intoxicated with this book, greedily lapping up page by page.
•”I’m obsessed with him, with the way I hate him, with the way he makes me feel”
I love Cleo in all her unique ways and quirks from her blue lips, blue hair and anything blue in between. She’s strong, fierce and defiant, marching to her own beat. She’s flawed and I love that about her.
Zach, he gets under your skin in every way imanginable. He’s mysterious, rude, arrogant and hot as sin. Everyone knows him but doesn’t really know him and as the story progressed my heart melts a little for him.
I love the push and pull of these two, the slow burn and angsty moments that suck me in and made my heart beat faster. It’s emotional, heart wrenching at times and packs a few surprises (maybe some tears) and I absolutely loved the message behind this story.
5 Angsty Emotional Stars!!
Every time I pick up one of Ms. Kent’s books I get sucked right in and can’t put it down. Cleo and Zach were no different. And along the way Ms. Kent provides a story about a real life issue. Not only did she write a love story but a story where life is also put into perspective, in the way you treat people daily. These kind of books are my favorite kind of books. A story that’s got so much more meat to it then just a story. Each time I read one of Ms. Kent’s books I fall more and more in love with her writing. I can’t wait for more!
5 ALL THE FEELS STARS!! Feels, Feels and more Feels!! This book touched me everywhere. Zach and Cleo’s story is beautifully written with great banter, sexiness, touching moments and so much love. This author writes romance books that stick with you forever and this book is no different. You definitely need to 1-Click this book, it is so worth the money and time.
I love a good enemies to lovers romance, and Saffron Kent is already one of my favorite authors. So you know I had to read this… and it was well worth it! I really enjoyed this book, and if you like enemies to lovers, or bully romances, you’ll love this one!
Bad Boy Blues was an intense, angsty, heartfelt read charged with all the feels. The author did an amazing job of weaving an emotionally riveting story around relevant social issues that many deal on a daily basis.
I absolutey loved Cleo!! She was a blue- haired spitfire that didn’t let anyone get her down. She had such a huge heart and refused to let anyone see her stumble. Even when her childhood nemesis came back into her life Cleo remained true to exactly who she was.
Zach was the embodiment of a true antihero. He had my feelings bouncing all over the place. There were times when I wanted to throttle him and others were I caught a glimpse of a lonely, brown-eyed little boy that I wanted to hug tight. There was so much more to him than meets the eye and my heart tugged as I watched Zach’s walls slowly start to crumble.
I adored both Cleo and Zach separately but together they set out to steal my heart. The growth they each underwent was captivating and amazing to watch unfold. Both characters were so multilayered, complex and utterly relatable I felt like I joined them on their journey.
Bad Boy Blues was a thought- provoking, emotional whirlwind tale about a dark prince and his street Cinderella.
Who doesn’t love a bad boy? Even when they are the bane of your existence, a pain in your butt and someone that has gotten under your skin for most of your life. Still who doesn’t love a bad boy?
Zachariah Prince is a man of many facets. But the one that stands out more than any is that bad boy persona. He met a girl and did what all little boys do. He bullied her. Her picked on her. But we also know that is a little boy’s way of showing a girl that he liked her.
Cleopatra does things her way. She went through school being bullied. All because she walked to the beat of her own drummer. She never conformed to the normalcy of others. But even girls that get bullied develop crushes.
Put these two together and OMG! The angst, the spontaneous combustion and the lack of ability to stay away from each other falls into play. Their journey is filled with forgiveness, hatred, passion and acceptance.
This book was fun, hot, and a reverse fairy tale . . . this time someone saves the prince.
This was a really good bully type romance. It was fast paced and very eye opening. I really liked Zach and Cleo. They had this intense hate thing going on but what they say about hate being a form of love is true. It wasn’t an easy book to read at times but the author did a great job at redeeming all the bad. Zach was a very strong but broken character. I would have to say I loved him the most in this story. Yes, he was a jerk 90% of the time but deep down…. as we find out his past I was able to understand and just fall harder.
Oh Blue. I loved her too. She overcame a lot and I loved how hard she worked. Not only on the Love aspect but just in life. She was an amazing woman. I feel like her issues were kinda pushed to the way side in the story. It didn’t make the story bad….. but I wanted to see more of her really overcoming her obstacles. The writing was detailed but not overly which is awesome and the story flowed great. It definitely has the heat to love aspect, but I didn’t feel the forbidden aspect. I would totally label it a bully, hate to love novel. If you love those types then you will love this book. Blue and Zach are not to be missed. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I’ve been waiting for this book ever since we were introduced to the characters in Gods & Monsters. Zach and Cleo; there was always going to be a deep story there.
One thing I like about this author is she tackles social topics. Topics that are very much real, increasing not only in victims (for want of a better word) but peoples awareness as well and this was no exception. The characteristics of a learning difficulty are so often misunderstood as behavioural issues and Saffron really nailed this. This is a story that is close to my heart as both my children have to overcome this. So the feelings that she poured into Zach were spot on. Although he had another learning difficulty to overcome as well which made his situation even more heartbreaking. Cleo’s character was the poor girl that grew up with everything Zach didn’t. Love.
It was a heartbreaking journey for the pair of them and they overcame many hurdles to become better versions of themselves. The only downside I found with this book was it was very wordy. I felt it lacked conversation between characters and for me it’s the conversing between characters that bring the story to life. Although, in fairness this wasn’t that kind of book. It needed the words, the feels but for me it made it hard reading and not because of the content
I love hate turned into love romance and this one hit the spot dead on. Cleo has been bullied for years by Zach the Prince. Zach has been gone for 3 years and now he’s back and Cleo is a maid for his family. Lots of angst in this book but also love and forgiveness. But mostly this book is about bullies and why they bully. I read this book straight through and actually read it again because it made me realize things I never thought about before. I’ve been bullied many times in my life and never thought why I was always just angry. Now I see things differently. Zach and Cleo’s story happens probably daily in this world but it’s how you react that makes a difference. This is one book I’ll never forget! 5/5 “Stage-five clinger.” Stars
