Trixie Donovan had been born stupid.Okay, not so much intellectually inept as born with a stupid name. Named after her flighty mother’s favorite pooch, Trixie had spent most of her life fending off comments of her canine similarities from her siblings. They thought they were hilarious, and she thought . . .Well, there was a reason she’d moved to the opposite side of the globe and it wasn’t because … globe and it wasn’t because she was close with her family.
She’d left California for bigger and better things then had kept on moving, putting her nursing skills to use to help people all over the world. But living without reliable electricity or clean water or hell, the internet had grown old.
Now she was back. She’d finally figured out what Netflix was, though she was still iffy on Tinder, and she’d become her half-sister Heather’s new pet project.
Isn’t that what happily married people did? Tried to marry off everyone around them because they were so sickeningly content that they couldn’t stand the thought of someone they knew not being in the same position.
So anyway, Heather pestered and Trix gave in, agreeing to a single blind date.
But then that blind date turned out to be Jet.
Jet, the doctor she’d worked with halfway around the world. The man she’d slept with and then had fallen desperately in love with. The one who, in cliché naïve female fashion, had decimated her heart. And the one who transformed an unwanted, but tolerable night out into the blind date from hell.
Because apparently Jet had decided his biggest regret was letting her go.

Trixie and Jet have a past. They run into each other again. But Trixie wants nothing to do with Jet even if her heart tells her something else. Jet is a doctor at the same hospital where Trixie is a nurse. So these two are working together. But it isn’t easy for either one of them. Jet really wants Trixie to give him another chance. But will he be able to talk Trixie into giving him another chance? Fate takes control and something happens to Trixie that ends up bringing her and Jet closer together. But will it be enough? This was another interesting book from the Billionaire series. I enjoyed reading about Trixie and Jet. It was a great storyline with two characters that have great chemistry.
This story certainly was not what I expected and I enjoyed every minute. Trix is suckered into a blind date with someone she least expected to see. Jet and Trix have this relationship where sparks fly but they need to overcome past and personal issues to succeed. Their story has a bit of romance, drama and even some suspense at one point that keeps you intrigued. I look forward to going back and reading more of this series.
I just loved everything about this book. It was hot and sexy and had second chance romance, which I love. The characters were interesting and I wanted to know more about them and didn’t want their story to end.
Such a wonderful story that I couldn’t get enough of! I loved this book and from the moment I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I thought Trixie was such a great character and really enjoyed Jet as well.
When the two are set up on a blind date together, the problem isn’t the getting to know you part, it’s the they already know each other and didn’t end on good terms part. Not wanting to disappoint their friends they play nice and make it through the night, with the plan never to see each other again. However, fate has other plans when they run into each other at work soon after the disastrous blind date.
Trixie’s heart was broken by Jet, and soon Jet realizes that maybe letting Trixie go was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Get ready to be taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions as Jet tries to get back into Trixie’s good graces and as Trixie realizes that the walls she has built around her heart are doing more harm than good.
A must read book for sure!

I enjoyed this book. Trixie and Jet’s story was a fun combination of cute, emotional and dramatic. I really liked both characters and chemistry. As if their own painful history isn’t enough to overcome, both of these characters have emotional baggage that weighs heavily into who they are and their past and present actions. All in all a very good read. This is my frank, freely posted review.
OHHHH, be still my fluttering heart!
5 “I will always share my tacos” STARS!!
*happy sigh* this was my favorite read of the week!
This was a multilayered, deeply emotional and very heartfelt second chance to get it right journey! Jet and Trixie have history. History that should have led to a HEA three years ago, but we are all a product of our upbringing and these two have serious baggage from their perspective upbringings. So much so that it’s the catalysts for Jet leaving Trixie years ago and by Jet leaving, it inflamed Trixie’s insecurities tenfold.
Now it’s three years later and an opportunity falls in their lap to get it right!! A perfect storm of #feels so well written that I might have to dub this my new favorite Billionaire’s Club story thus far! They were kismet and it was a pleasure to spend an afternoon in their world! 🙂
Trixie’s blind date could not be any worse considering it’s with the one man she let in, the one man who broke her already fragile heart into a million pieces when he ghosted her back when they were both working across the world. So when Jet has the nerve to first throw hostility at her, then later lay a kiss on her, she’s justifiably pissed. So pissed she slaps him then drives off, not stopping even as he stands on the sidewalk knowing he deserves her ire, and knowing he wants her back.
Jet has regretted letting Trixie go ever since he ghosted her back then. It was just that he wasn’t getting the love and affection he deserved, he wanted, from her, so figured leaving her before she left him would be the best thing. Um yeah…MEN!
Except his and Trixie’s story is more complex than just a man being a typical stupid male. Both of them are damaged by their parents and the way their parents raised them. The way he dealt with it was to wall himself off, determined that anyone in his life would have to beg him for his love, not him begging them the way he had begged for his parents’ love. Trixie though, she walled herself off also, but she just kept herself insulated emotionally and never let anyone in. Until Jet. So when he ghosted her, he really, really damaged her. So for him to work himself back into her heart was hard going. Really, really, REALLY hard going. Thank God this time he was all in. And thank God Trixie’s heart just couldn’t resist him when he was at his most determined.
I think this installment of the Billionaire’s Club is the most heartfelt yet. Trixie and Jet are so painfully scarred, have such demons that it was a bit trying to read, I felt so badly for both of them and was so happy that they found their way back to each other. I love the hostility in the beginning, and the way Jet worked so hard for his second chance. I just love second chance romances when they’re done right, and Elise has definitely done this one right!
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This was an awesome story about a VERY bad blind date between Trixi who is Heather’s step sister and Jet, who is a doctor she is friends with through wiork. She decides that because Trix is a nurse they would enjoy meeting each other.
However what she does not know is that Trix and jet have known each other for years and it did not end well for them.
This is a new favorite book in this series. Both Trix and Jet have painful pasts and they have to face their pasts and let each other into their vulnerabilities so they can find a future together. I loved how Trix was with Jet and that Jet sees that he is not perfect as well.
This was an awesome story in this series and Trix and Jet were awesome characters.
Bad Blind Date by Elise Faber is book 8 in the Billionaire’s Club series. This is Jet and Trixie’s story.
Jet and Trixie knew each other several years before and Trixie fell head over heels in love with him yet Jet walked away from her after they spent this magical night together. Fast forward to now, when her blind date is the man who broke her heart 3 years before. This is a sweet , steamy and touching 2nd chance at romance read that is Jet and Trixie’s story. I enjoyed getting to know the full backstory and reading them falling them fall more in love this time once all the walls come down.
There is a sneak peek at who next book is going to be about. I can’t wait!
My Rating: 4.4 stars ********
I’m not sure if this is the correct word to use but this was a cute read.
Both of them had some deep emotional scars that needed work in order for them to make it as a couple. It took being apart for three years and some hard truths for them to finally realise they are perfect for each other.
I absolutely loved Trixie. She was strong, funny and deferment to push herself being more open even if it came unnatural to her. As for Jet; don’t get me wrong. I loved him when he finally realized what he let go. But before that?? Yeaaaah not so much.
First time read for this author and I can guarantee you I’ll be picking up the next book with that epilogue at the end. I’m so excited

Jet and Trixie met when they were medical providers working in underdeveloped countries. In the jungles and mountains of desolate countries, their love developed. Then personal insecurities hit and then like a ghost it was over. One literally ghosted the other and took an assignment in Haiti after a major natural disaster. Fast forward a few years and Trixie has decided to move back to California to be closer to family. Her recently married sister sets her up on a blind date. Trixie’s sets her up on a blind date with Jet. How long can they keep their past disastrous relationship a secret from their family, friends and coworkers?
I enjoyed this novel. Elise Faber did not disappoint. There were a lot of complex emotions being played out in this book. The current quarantine has me wanting more excitement in my daily life and I found myself looking for those action filled moments in this novel. The blind date scene was pretty good. The characters are complex and strong without compromise. The writing is solid and engaging. I did find myself holding my breath during intense moments in the novel. This is a novel I would probably read again in the future.
I received a free advanced reader copy of this novel for an honest review.
We have all had that moment when your blind date walks in and your stomach sinks and you just know the next 2 hours are going to suck. That moment where you are trying to think of every way you can escape this date. It was the same for Trix. Her sister Heather is in love with her husband Clay and has made it her mission to pair up as many of her friends as she can. And her current target is Trix.
Trix is currently working as an Emergency Department Nurse working in San Francisco. Having returned home after spending years working abroad with the Doctor without Border organization. Trix has come home to California not so much as it is home, but she wants to build a relationship with her half-sister. Life has not been easy for Trix, she is estranged from everyone but Heather. Opening herself up and maintaining relationship is hard for her. As Trix stands to greet her Blind Date it dawns on her that she knows the guy. And when I say knows I mean “KNOWS” the guy.
Jet walks into the blind date his friend Clay and Heather have talked him to, to be immediately smack in the face with the one person in the whole world he can’t face. He has spent the last 3 years trying to do his best to forget her. Trix has a piece of his heart, but she is slow closed off to the world that he knows she is going to break him. Three years before like a thief in the night he sneaks out of the country with out a word to her. Jet was working as a Doctor with the same Organization as Trix. They spent the better part of a year spending time together. Fighting to help save those who didn’t have access to the medical care they needed. But as time went on Jet realized that he loved Trix more than she loved him, and after a childhood spent begging his parents to love him, he just couldn’t do that with the woman he loved. So, Jet left. He walked away without saying a word.
Now three years later he has returned to San Francisco to build the family and the life he wants. He happens to be working in the same ED that Trix is. This date will not be their last time running to into. The hostility Trix has for Jet is palatable.
Elise Faber writes such great romances. She always creates these multilayered characters. They always have such great back stories. The characters always seem to be a bit broken but, in the end, what is broken about them seems to be what brings them together. Faber’s stories seem to show us no matter how good you think someone has it there can be pain behind the façade. Faber does the same for us Bad Blind Date.
Bad Blind Date is a steamy easy read. You get glimpses of past characters from the Billionaire Club, but this is absolutely a stand-alone story. This was a 4.5 /5 read for me. The only downside for me was I wanted more. I wanted to see more of their back and forth. Faber has a great way of showcasing character interaction and I am always left wanting more
This was such a good book! I loved Jet and Trix , they both come from a damaged background for one reason or another. They both blame there history on the other one and when they suddenly get set up for a blind date with each other old feelings resurface that they thought were long gone.
“The elevator doors opened, and he froze, eyes unseeing as her earlier words washed over him. You didn’t fight for us. The reason you didn’t do any of those things was because you were scared. Fuck you for not loving me the way you should have.”
I could not put this book down and I can not wait for the next book to come out.
I have received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
I loved this book! Trixie has moved back home and her half sister decides to set her up on a blind date. She is shocked when none other than her ex, Jet, walks in. The one who had broken her heart and left her without a word. Trixie still loves him, but her hurt still runs deep. Jet knows he made the worst mistake walking away and his biggest was losing Trixie. Will he be able to make things right? This story is filled with heartbreak, drama, banter, and love. A fantastic read and one I definitely recommend.
A sweet and sexy read
—>>> Moving back home for a new start lands Trixie in a place she could not predict, in the same vicinity of one sexy doctor named Jet serving with Doctors Without Borders whom she had dated, fallen in love with, and has tried to forget over these past three years. Now, she is stuck working in the very same hospital, the same department and sometimes the same shifts as he is. If they were to even get a second chance at what so clearly is still burning between them, they have to rehash all the emotions they have buried along with all their childhood experiences. I love Trixie’s character, who is even more guarded now around Jet, but she is able to keep her brain-to-heart connection steering her in the right direction and not be pushed around emotionally by Jet and what he thinks he needs from her. A sweet and sexy read!
I love what Elise Faber brings with this second chance romance in Bad Blind Date. the chemistry between Trix and Jet is so hot. I love their banter and bickering. I love watching them both heal from their past and end up closer. Trix is super smart and just so amazing. Jet is a little cocky and he knows what he wants. Jet and Trix bring the fire works whenever they are together. I loved this one so much. I can’t wait for the next one.
Four and a Half Stars
In a very short period of time, Elise Faber has become a one click purchase for me. It’s strange because I rarely get that way about an author. Normally I’m like that with a series but never with an author. I am a huge hockey romance reader and that’s how I first got to know Elise Faber – through her Gold Hockey Series and I branched out from there and started to work my way through her books.
“Bad Blind Date” Book 8 of her Billionaire’s Club Series is an emotional second chance romance that will have you hooked. Jet is a doctor and Trixie is a nurse. Cliché? A little bit, but that’s okay because it’s about much more than that.
Both of them are emotionally handicapped and when they first meet, neither is in the right headspace to pursue a meaningful relationship and a bad breakup leads to bitter feelings on both their parts.
When they meet again, on a blind date, the.sparks.fly. Watching them spar and fight their obvious attraction to one another guarantees that they will eventually find their way back to each another and get their happily ever after. TBR and enjoy this fantastic book.
I have been looking forward to this book ever since I read the first few pages in Bad Boyfriend. I love a second chance romance, especially when there is a bit of animosity between the hero and heroine. Trix is a feisty nurse that you will absolutely love. She had a rough start to life but did the best she could. Now it’s time to come home and get to know the only relative she cares about, her sister Heather. Jet is an amazing doctor who has always loved Trix but pushed her away when he got scared. He blamed her this entire time for him leaving when really they both were a little at fault. They each have some amends to make. Distance could never stop their love. Now close proximity will help strengthen it.
I just adored these two and am so glad I got to meet them. They each had their ghosts but they have slowly learned how to fight them, side by side. Every time I read a book in this series it just seems to get better and better. Looking forward to the next one already. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Bad Blind Date is rough around the edges, but soft around the heart. Faber proves to be an ace when it comes to stirring up emotions. I can’t say that I always liked either character. However, in the grand scheme of things, it was easy to understand where each was coming from. Trixie and Jet are victims of their own heartache. Circumstance put them at odds. Will understanding present them with a future?
This is the 8th book in this intriguing series and is Trixie and Jet’s story. Trixie is a nurse who is estranged from her family except for her half-sister Heather. When Heather arranges for her to go on a blind date she agrees and Jet who is a doctor is her date. These two have a history but are both emotionally challenged by their pasts, but can they deny the sizzling chemistry between them? This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional 2nd chance love story, and I was hooked throughout. I highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all.
