Wow that was quite the read. This is the second book I have read from this author and she always gets you hooked from the start. She has such amazing characters and great themes it all flow awesome. I laughed and I cried but you have to read for yourself.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Weddings are filled with stress and this one is no different but it is so funny throughout. I loved Simone and she is such a well written character! Her sister and brother-in-law to be are perfect and they add so much to the story. I think one of my favorite characters is definitely Simone’s mom lol. Teddy is pretty amazing too! This was a very good read and I read it quickly. If you ever had any drama by being part of a wedding, you may even find some similarities lol.
Ms. Sage Rae, thank you so much for this addictive read. The storyline for this book is so engrossing and easily envisioned.
Imagine this scenario; Overbearing Mother, a wedding that someone else is in charge of and as the Sister of the Bride, you need to make sure everything goes off perfectly. Prepare yourself for the wedding of a lifetime with Lillian and Joshua. Except in this story centers around the best man, Teddy and the maid of honor, Simone. Never have I read two characters that are fated for one another more than in this fantastically crafted release. Very easy to follow along and lose yourself in their Journey.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced readers copy of Bad Best Man in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I can’t recommend this release or anything published by Ms. Rae more.
I was engrossed in the story from the beginning. Simone and Teddy met at her sister’s wedding and ended up spending lots of time together getting to know each other and eventually fell in love. . A must read

How to Rock a Wedding and a Honeymoon
Weddings—even when providing affirmation for the most perfectly matched and loving couples—can be fraught with stress and challenges. There are well established challenges: overbearing mothers or mothers-in-law, conflicts among attendants, hookups among attendants, venue challenges, uncontrollable weather issues, caterer no shows or caterers providing beautiful food filled with pathogens. All challenges can be met and overcome, or at least tolerated, except for the unexpected and heartbreaking breakup of the key players—the bride and groom to be—not years after the vows are spoken, but before the honeymoon is over. Sage Bae stages a wedding with disaster written on the invitation, but love as the outcome in her rom com of love and wedded no-bliss tale.
Simone St James, maid of honor for her sister Lillian, has issues with her sister’s wedding. While she loves and wants to be supportive of her sister and bride, she cannot find a way to like or even trust the groom and his family. The groom, Joshua, and his family are wealthy—overbearingly wealthy—the type of wealthy who think that their money makes them more deserving of the best of life than others. And, while Simone and Lillian have grown up in a family who have never wanted, they do have limits and restrictions; they do budget. So, the simple wedding planned to be held in the backyard of the St James home morphs into an extravaganza when Mrs. McDonald questions the details of the wedding as not quite at an acceptable standard for her son’s wedding. And, the whole event gets kicked to another level when it is announced that the groom’s family is paying for the whole wedding party to join the bride and groom at their honeymoon resort in Hawaii.
Best man, Teddy Harrison, a billionaire college buddy, doesn’t fit into the Trust Fund Baby Club”. His dad left when Teddy was an adolescent. His family lived simply until his mom, who worked as a receptionist and attended night school, hit it rich with shrewd investments in the stock market and is now a major investment player supporting several foundations. Teddy knows that money won’t buy everything, especially love and happiness. And, no matter how nice a guy he is, he brings his own complications to the wedding and group honeymoon. His ex, Becky—a money hungry, husband-seeking, sorority sister and now bridesmaid for Lillian—has caught the marriage bug and plans on taking advantage of the enforced close proximity of the wedding and the group honeymoon to reel billionaire Teddy back into her web. But, Teddy has other ideas. He is intrigued by the bride’s sister, Simone, and when they both seek refuge during the wedding afterparty in the St. James’ pantry sharing a family size bag of sour cream and onion of potato chips and a bottle of Pinot Grigio, they also share an intense make-out session until discovered and rousted out by Simone’s mom. But, an awareness of each other has sparked.
Bad Best Man is a fun read with a serious thread of social awareness. The central characters not only seek love, but also a future that will allow them to follow their socially aware passions in the midst of a world of that values personal fulfillment over meeting the needs of others.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review ARCS, but I enjoyed the reading and purchased a copy to add it to my “read-again” titles.
