Hayley: Leave it to me to ruin even a fake relationship! What happens when a super handsome and rich guy asks me to coffee?I think I’m the brunt of a prank my new co-workers are playing on me!Looking at Liam, I find myself turning into a pile of mush.My mouth and vocal cords refuse to work around him.Mr. Cocky seems surprised. He’s not used to having his advances refused. How can I ever make it up … refused.
How can I ever make it up to him?
Apparently, by agreeing to pretend to be his fiancée at a wedding.
There’s also a little thing I could give him called my virginity.
I would only want to do that if our relationship was working for real.
But now it’s so real that things are messily broken instead of perfectly fake.
It would take a lot of work to fix it all.
But both of us seem up for a challenge.
Liam: I only need her for one night, but I want her for good.
I don’t just need a wedding date; I also need to pretend I’m getting married.
So when my lawyer sets me up with his new assistant, I’m in.
I’m not the kind of guy who commits, so a one-night fiancée sounds perfect.
And Hayley is perfect, too – perfectly gorgeous, curvy and feisty.
Not only that, but I’m pretty sure she’s a virgin. Just the way I like them.
But when I try to take her out to explain the plan, she freaks.
How can I pretend to be happy with someone so negative?
It seems we bring out the worst in each other.
And yet, I can’t seem to stop wanting her to be my fake fiancée- and more.
Hayley needs an attitude adjustment and I’m just the guy to give it to her.
But is she thinking the same thing about me?

Surprised by Love
Jamie Knight has offered her readers another delightfully titillating but also sweetly structured tale of the meeting of beauty—the shy, innocent Haley is trying to find her way as an independent, but very inexperienced woman, and the beast—the wounded warrior Liam who has been wounded on the field of battle and wounded on the field of love.
Liam has learned to cope with the wounds of war, but the wounds of love have made him wary of a new encounter. He is gruff in his nature and aching in his body and generally unwilling to engage with the female species again. But, necessity is a powerful aphrodisiac and motivator for Liam Andrews, ex-military and now CEO of Black Flag Security, a multi-billion-dollar enterprise. With the task of being best man at his best friend and war buddy’s wedding, Liam feels compelled to have a date—more than a date—a girlfriend—more than a girlfriend—a fiancée. But, how to arrange that relationship before the wedding is a challenge, until he happens to see the most perfect “softly pretty” girl while at an appointment at his lawyer’s office. The warrior who faced down the enemy is afraid to get too close to this “softly pretty” girl who is everything he has wanted and needed.
Haley Booth is an anomaly in LA—a 27-year-old college graduate who is still a virgin. Having been nudged out of the parental nest into the big city of LA and employment, Haley is slowly finding her way as she learns to interact with her co-workers. So, when she is approached by Liam with the proposition of being his date—his fake fiancée—for the wedding, she struggles to manage the role she will need to play. But, what is she to do when the role becomes reality?
Jamie Knight’s tale of the awkward Haley and the wary Liam is a sweet tale told with the characters naturally drawn to each other, but unsure and untrusting of how to move forward. The language they speak best is the language of the body when the heart is too fearful to speak. It is a fast read with hot sex!
I am voluntarily leaving a review after selecting it with Kindle Unlimited so I can enjoy it again and again.
The great storyline and well created characters grabbed my attention from the very beginning! However, it was the interaction between Hayley and Liam that kept me totally enthralled throughout the entire book!
What a fun rollercoaster ride! Liam needs a fake fiance to attend a friend’s wedding and Hayley needs to be more self-assured. The story is fun, entertaining and with great characters, I honestly reviewed an arc copy.
Hayley and Liam will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Two people who bring out the worst in each other. No shortage of drama or twists. They say, opposites attract and that is definitely true in this case. A fake fiance, a wedding date, one night, a virgin, my oh my – what could go wrong. Well written and entertaining. The characters are strong and well-developed. The story will keep your interest and is steamy. The chemistry is explosive. A great read that I read as an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.
