Having grown up trapped in a gilded cage, the events of one tragic night changed everything.Farah Highland was raised with more money than most people could ever dream of, but with that wealth and privilege came cold indifference and cruelty. Determined to start living for herself, Farah cut ties with everything and everyone she’d ever known for the chance at starting over in the foothills of the … foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Notorious town playboy, Cannon Banks grew up living the good life. He had it all, loving parents, good friends, and a face and body that drove women wild. Love and commitment were the last things on his mind . . . until he locked eyes with a woman across a crowded bar, and everything changed in a heartbeat.
There’s just one problem. Bad Alibi’s newest waitress wants nothing to do with him. But he’s nothing if not determined.
Cannon and Farah are about to enter into a battle of wills.
May the best man . . . or woman, win.

Bad Alibi Book 1 Redemption
Jessica Prince
5 Stars
Omg this book is absolutely amazing!! Very well written! Love the characters and their chemistry! Captivated my interest throughout!
“But that had just been young love holding on to something that was long gone.”
“What you don’t get was that you gave me everything just by being nice to me.”
“With that, my man burst into laughter and the sound moved right through me, making that now ever-present warmth in my chest bloom brighter. Oh yeah, I thought as I held him even tighter. This is definitely bliss.”
Loved it! Can’t wait for the next book in the series!!
Jessica Prince does it again! Not only did she give us a glimpse into Xander and Sage’s married bliss, but she gave Cannon and Farah the story they deserved.
Farah has been the girl who has it all her whole life, and it hasn’t done anything to make her feel loved or valued or alive. So when she survives some of the worst that can happen, she decides that she’s had enough of living the charmed life that looks great from outside, but is empty and cold inside. She makes a major change, thumbing her nose at expectations, and manages to find a true home.
Cannon isn’t really looking for forever, but he’s well aware that his best friend thinks it’s coming his way. And guess what? Sage was right. It is. And it slaps Cannon upside the head. So he does what men do and screws it all up. Of course, he gets his head on straight eventually and decides to go after the woman he wants, but there is so much more to Farah than Cannon could ever imagine, and he has to be gentle while proving that he’s dead serious about wanting to explore life with Farah.
Cannon and Farah’s story is a little angsty, a lot emotional, and hits you right in the feels. Add to their happiness a town full of people I can’t wait to see more from, and I’m pretty sure that this author has another hit series on her hands.
I fell in love with Jessica Prince last year largely due to her Hope Valley series and she has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I am a huge sucker for small-town romance and she does it SO very well and her alpha heroes are some of the best I’ve read. She has outdone herself once again with this kick off to the Redemption series.
Bad Alibi is the first book of the Redemption series, which is a spin-off of the Hope Valley series. We first met Cannon in Out of the Darkness but it’s not necessary to read that book prior to this one.
I loved this book from beginning to end! Farah meets Cannon when she moves to Redemption, Tennessee to start over and their connection is immediate and intense. She has always been rich in dollars while Cannon has been rich in the things that matter most and I loved watching them navigate their path to each other. These characters found their way quickly into my heart and the story drew me in and kept me completely immersed. I laughed and cried and swooned. This town and it’s colorful residents are definitely going to give Hope Valley some competition as my favorite JP series and I can’t wait to see what she has planned for us next.
“Now I have so many people who mean something to me that I don’t have enough chairs for them all to sit in. So, yeah, I’m close to crying, but it’s only because I’m incredibly, stupidly happy.”
I really enjoyed Cannon & Farah’s story! I loved going on Cannon & Farah’s journey with a couple twists & turns that kept me turning the pages.
Jessica Prince knows how to write great small town romances! I am not ready to leave these characters and this world behind so I’m excited to read more in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
If you are looking for an author who can absolutely nail those small-town romances, look no further than Jessica Prince.
Full of emotion, surprise, and determination, Farah and Cannon’s story is one heck of a ride. Having dealt with so many issues, Farah is one strong woman. Cannon is charming and yet intense. The two of them together set my Kindle on fire. Overall, their story has one lesson…don’t judge a book by its cover 😉
I love Farah, I LOVE Cannon and I adore Redemption, Tennessee. These are my kids of people and my kind of town. I need more of this series!
This was a good read! The writing flowed well, and I liked Cannon and Farrah together for the most part. I know Farrah has issues because of the things she went through, but that still didn’t mean that she had to treat Cannon how she did at first. Then she got mad at him for being mad about it! She did get better after that, but I wish she would have confided in Cannon about her past. Cannon was a good guy, and an alpha all the way. They made a great couple, even after everything is out in the open. I was happy to see Farrah get to stand up for herself, and get the justice she deserved. I loved seeing the other guys mentioned in the Hope Valley Series. Bev was a great secondary character too! I can’t wait to see how Poppy and Shane end up. Great start to a new series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Wow!! This story was beautiful, just beautiful! Cannon is a cocky guy who “dates” a lot of women, but when he finds something he wants he goes after it. The chemistry, the pain was so well written. This story was absolutely perfect!! I fell in love with a new set of characters & am looking forward to this new series of Jessica’s. Cannon is so swoony, but Jace seems like he can give him some competition too!
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
4.5 stars. A great start to what I’m sure will be another fantastic series by Jessica Prince. I really enjoyed the push and pull in this one, is it time for book 2 yet, I don’t want to wait!
The small town, the main characters, the friends and the townsfolk in the pages of a book all from the mind of Jessica Prince. Each town is different as are the people but you always know it’s going to be an amazing experience and Bad Alibi was all those things.
I adored Farah and I was definitely hit with the Cannon effect. I laughed, I swooned, I shed some tears all while falling in love with a whole new town with people that I can’t wait to read more about
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
Bad Alibi is the first book in The Redemption series of which we met its star Cannon in Hope Valley as he grew up with Sage and yes we get a cameo from Sage and Xander. For me there were things I loved about this story and some that were not my favorite but in the end I fell in love with this town and its characters.
This story centers mostly on Farah who is a new resident in the town of Redemption. She has bought a mansion that needs ALOT of work ALOT. So much that she is staying in a motel in town. She decides to get a job and doesn’t really need the money but feels that it is a good way to get out and meet people.
I guess you can say that Farah has a very tragic past and its pretty bad but she has moved to Redemption because her families chauffer was from Redemption and told her stories growing up about how awesome the town was. She is on the run from her parents and ex-fiancee after something terrible happened to her.
She gets the job at the local bar and is loving it until she runs into Cannon. He rides a motorcycle and works with cars and is the town playboy and that’s what I didn’t like. He is really a playboy and he has a lot of sex and some before and some when he has the hots for F and that’s the only thing I did not like about his character. Luckily this stage does not last long and after he starts chatting and flirting with F I fell hard for him. I just wanted to warn you about that one part that I did not love.
What I did love was how he and F are together. They lust but they also become friends and I loved watching that happen for both main characters. I loved watching F make friends and I loved her interaction with Ben and Jace.
This was an awesome story and I loved the town of Redemption and cannot wait for more.
BAD ALIBI is the first book in the new series “Redemption” by Jessica Prince.
I’m sure I have never uttered these words before THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER WRITTEN BY THIS AUTHOR!!! (I joke, I think I say it with every book I read by her). The chemistry between the two main protagonists is off the charts (once he smartened up). Her altruism is to be admired and I happen to know a few people as good as her. Traumatic events are written with compassion and understanding. World building is layered and clear and the story held my interest from beginning to end.
Bad Alibi is a bar – I used to bartend at one very similar and it brought back some wonderful memories.
I am looking forward to continuing this series.
Jessica Prince writes books that I can get sucked into a whole new world. I love her stories and just finished her last series. So I was excited to start her new Redemption series with Bad Alibi! I loved the story, the characters, and small town love. I applaud Farrah for finding strength to start a new life. She is not a stranger to bad things but she is about to figure out how to finally breathe! Cannon…I was push and pull with him. He was a dream and under that rough exterior, he had me falling. Bad Alibi will have you smiling and make your heart smile when you think back to this story!
Cannon had me intrigued since Sage story in Hope Valley and I wasn’t disappointed. Farah reminded me of Eden from Hope Valley. She was so sweet even after going thru a traumatic event in her life. Her and Cannon came from different backgrounds but that didn’t stop her and at first it bothered him but then he saw how different she was. It took some stumbling for these two to end up together and it was fire. When events from Farah’s past surfaced, Cannon protectiveness of her skyrocketed 1000%. Everyone in their town loved Farah and made everything possible for her to feel like one of them even though she wasn’t from there. Her relationship with her brother was beautiful and Cannon parents were the best. They were some banter that made me laugh but overall great story and can’t wait for more from this town.
I loved Bad Alibi! Jessica Prince writes another incredible small town romance in Redemption! Farah is one of my favorite heriones. I love her strength and honesty and how she just loves those around her. She moves to Redemption to start a new life.
Cannon is quite the hero! Strong and taken back by Farah. Their connection is so well written. How they get to know each other and fight how they feel. It made me laugh, cry and feel for them.
The cross over from Hope Valley and Sage was great and all the new characters make me wanting more and more of Redemption TN!!! Jessica Princes writes great characters we all fall in love with and cannot get enough of!
Brilliant tale to begin her new series, Redemption, a spin off from her equally amazing Hope Valley series. I guess I will be splitting my time now between Hope Valley and Redemption as these towns and characters are equally alluring, powerful and so addictive.
Farah has journeyed from Connecticut to Tennessee to escape her past and her family who chooses to force her into a loveless life. Don’t pity her as she is wealthy but rather admire her as she has chosen to escape this sad life to build her own with all her own decisions built on her hopes and dreams.
Cannon is a resident and biker who resides in Redemption. He has a comfortable life and enjoys the company of many women but only for one night. When his eyes behold the beautiful new waitress in the bar he enjoys spending his free time in, the challenge has begun. However Farah has been warned about his love them and leave them ways and she is not ready to take on the “Cannon Effect”. Now neither one can deny the attraction that is there drawing them together. The past is their enemy and it is rearing it’s ugly head in more ways than one.
Look for the “crossover” characters from Hope Valley. It is a wonderful way to revisit one of my beloved towns. I look forward to more of the characters that are intertwined in both of these compelling series.

Wow!!!! What an amazing start of a brand new series by one of my favourite authors. A 6 star entertaining masterpiece.
Farah moves to a new town. She starts over after a traumatic experience that left her leaving her family and friends. Now she makes new ones. She doesn’t expect to meet a man like Cannon. They are opposites or so he thinks. That is until he gets to know her.
This was an heartfelt story that made me shed a few tears. The storyline is amazing but heartbreaking at times. I basically devoured this page turning highly addicting story. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t seem to be able to put it down.
Amazing characters that made me fall in love with them. Secondary characters played an important role in the development if this story. I hope to get their stories next. Bottomline this is a must read.
Standalone for now. Told in a dual POV with an amazing HEA. I strongly recommend this story. I even got to catch with some of Hope Valley’s characters.
***5 Stars***
After meeting Cannon and company in Out of the Darkness, I was crossing my toes that we’d get to see them again. So to say I was all kinds of excited when the Redemption series was announced AND that Cannon was up on the chopping block of love first, is an understatement. I was THRILLED and this book does not disappoint. It hit all my romance buttons in best of ways and has given me a whole new set of characters to get to know!
Farah and Cannon. I adored these two. Farrah is strong and sassy. She’s been through more than most could ever imagine but has come out of it with a truly golden soul and the determination to live her life on her own terms and I loved watching as she evolved into the woman she always wanted to be. Cannon is a charmer. The man could melt kevlar with his silver tongue, but he has a heart of gold.
Cannon and Farah’s journey to their HEA was a fun one. They both have their moments ~ some were funny, some had me wanting to reach out and Gibbs smack some sense into them ~ but I loved watching how they worked things out and got to know each other and find that they actually fit pretty well together. Their bantering was a lot fun, the smexy was hot and I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.
This was a great read. The writing was engaging, pacing good and I enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. There are a few issues that arise that some may be triggered by, but they were handled well and were very much pertinent to the growth of the characters. And then there are the secondary characters…seriously, this one is chock full of people I NEED to get to know better. Bev, Darla, Buck, Shane, Poppy, Bennett, Jace, Banks. Clay…they all brought Redemption to life and I cannot wait to go back!

Bad Alibi is the first book in The Redemption series.
This is a spin-off of The Hope Valley series (one of my favorite series) and after reading the first book I know this series is going to be my favorite too.
Farah Highland is in Redemption to start a new life. Growing up her insanely rich parents were cold and cruel. She’s leaving everything behind to start living for herself.
Love Farah’s character. She was strong but also very sweet.
We met Cannon Banks in Out of Darkness.
He’s a playboy and lives his live without commitment.
But when he sees the beautiful Farah across the room he is intrigued and very interested in her.
Cannon was hot!! But he was also very protective of Farah. Love his character.
Love the secondary characters in this book and can’t wait where this series will take us. Hope that Jase’s book is next.
My Rating:
#SmallTown #HealingLove
This is my first book by this author, and I am in love. Cannon and Farah’s story is set in the small town of redemption, Tennessee, and it is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Farah is an amazing main character. She is strong, brave, fierce, kind, sweet, and giving. She is a survivor of terrible things while keeping her kind spirit. I love her bravery in starting over. I love the relationship she has with her brother Jase and with Bennett. I really appreciated her desire and ability to learn to trust her gut in her decision making. When she meets Cannon, she is nervous about her reaction to him, yet still moves forward getting to know him. She is probably one of my favorite heroines of the year. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t want to put it down to go to bed and I couldn’t wait to start reading again the next morning. When you wake up thinking of the characters in your book, you know the author has done a good job. Farah is healing, and the author did an amazing job of how that can be one step forward and two steps back. Cannon is a playboy before meeting Farah, but he falls for her quickly and completely. I love how tender he is with her. The passion and chemistry between them are electric. There was a lot of steam, some drama, some heartache, and some laughs in this wonderfully written book. There were a handful of errors that should have been caught by a proofreader prior to publication, though they did not detract from the story. I cannot wait to read more by this author.
Trigger warning: Heroine has experienced violence in her past that could be triggering for some readers when mentioned in the story. Hero is not part of that violence.
