Having grown up trapped in a gilded cage, the events of one tragic night changed everything.Farah Highland was raised with more money than most people could ever dream of, but with that wealth and privilege came cold indifference and cruelty. Determined to start living for herself, Farah cut ties with everything and everyone she’d ever known for the chance at starting over in the foothills of the … foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Notorious town playboy, Cannon Banks grew up living the good life. He had it all, loving parents, good friends, and a face and body that drove women wild. Love and commitment were the last things on his mind . . . until he locked eyes with a woman across a crowded bar, and everything changed in a heartbeat.
There’s just one problem. Bad Alibi’s newest waitress wants nothing to do with him. But he’s nothing if not determined.
Cannon and Farah are about to enter into a battle of wills.
May the best man . . . or woman, win.

The first in an epic, brand new small-town series!!!
Bad Alibi by Jessica Prince is the first book in her brand new Redemption series. This is a spin off from the Hope Valley series. We met Cannon briefly in the sixth Hope Valley book, Out of the Darkness, and we get to see a little of Xander and Sage in this story too.
Farah has lived a privileged but cold life. After a devastating attack she moves to Redemption, Tennessee. Leaving behind her distant and cold parents and her horrible ex-fiance. Determined to make a life for herself in this town with a name that is fitting for her needs, she buys an old Victorian home and has it renovated and stays at the local inn while work is underway. Looking to fill her days and be useful she manages to get a job at the local bar, Bad Alibi. This is where she meets Connor. These two have a palpable connection from the first time they lock eyes in the bar, but between his determination to not be “attached” and her determination to “make it on her own” they keep sidestepping each other. With a slow-build between them, some angsty misunderstanding and some immediate chemistry this story was just one more reason why Jessica Prince has become a must-read author for me. I cannot wait to read more from the people in redemption and in Hope Valley! Enjoy!
This book was AMAZING!!!
Farah Highland has lived a very strict life because of who her family is. After something very tragic happens she realizes that she needs to make her life her own. Farah is very strong but also very caring to those close to her.
Cannon is a playboy through and through, who likes to live without commitments. He is very protective of those in his life and that includes Farah when he sees her across the bar.
This story had many ups and downs that had me wanting to smack the characters but in the end they ended up where they should be.
I can’t wait for book 2.
The first in an epic, brand new small-town series!
After Meeting Cannon in Out of the Darkness and learning there was a new series coming I was super excited. I love anything Jessica Prince writes, but she has me falling in love with Redemption already. This first book kicked off this new series with a bang. First off I love the name of the town and inspires hope for me. I love the citizens of this biker town. If you want a book with a heroine who is one of the bravest souls that you have ever read that is Farah. She is an inspiring character that you root for right from the beginning. You want her to find the happiness she deserves. Cannon and her will melt your heart. He has many swoon worthy moments. I’m a huge fan of Crash. Having the kitty in the story made it all the more great for me. I would so recommend this one. It has the heart and feels, but also some serious and heart pounding moments. I really can’t wait for more from this series!!
I anxiously waited for Cannon’s story after we met him in Hope Valley, and it was SO worth the wait! When Farah thought “And just like that, I swooned”, so did I! Farah went through a life altering experience and was able to break away from her horrible parents and their ridiculous lifestyle. In finding Cannon, she found her home. I couldn’t love them more, and I cannot WAIT for the next book!!
After being introduced to her Hope Valley series, I have realized that Jessica Prince is a queen in the small town romance genre- and now she has started what I must say is another successful small town series. So yay!!
Bad Alibi is a spin-off of Hope Valley; Cannon is the ex-boyfriend of Sage (from Out of the Darkness). Farah moves to the little town of Redemption, Tennessee when she needs to escape her family. These two do not seem to be a likely couple, but their chemistry is off-the-charts, and instant! I fell in love with Farah’s giving heart, and Cannon’s protectiveness.
I can’t wait for more in the Redemption series, and more from Jessica Prince!
Great small town romance! Check out this new release by Jessica Prince!
Another great one from Jessica Prince! A new spin-off from the Hope Valley series we now get to dive into the characters we meet in Out of Darkness and Conner is the first one.
Farah Highland comes from money but her family is cold and life has not been easy – while Conner Banks is just the opposite, a fantastic family and life. When Conner sees Farah for the first time he knows he wants her Farah has other ideas. New to Redemption Farah just wants to start over and is running from her past – but when her past catches up to her along with the sexy Conner Banks wont leave her alone she knows she must learn to trust again.
Again what a great way to kick off the new series – this story has a little more darkness (which is saying a lot) and the arc that Farah goes on is great. I enjoyed these characters and the new backdrop and the town seems fantastic. I am really looking forward to what Ms Prince has in store for us next.
I know I say this about every Jessica Prince book but this is my new favorite! I LOVED it! This is the first book in the Redemption series, which is a spin off of the Hope Valley series. I completely fell in love with Redemption, Tennessee and all of the characters, especially Farah and Cannon.
Farah moved to Redemption looking for a fresh start. She has been through so much in her life but she doesn’t let it get her down. She has the biggest heart. I love her incredible strength.
Cannon is a tatted up playboy who rides a motorcycle. He will get your juices flowing and have you falling under the Cannon effect. So hot! But he is also incredibly sweet.
Jessica is the master at writing small town romances. I cannot wait for more from Redemptions!
I flipping loved this story!!!! I honestly don’t think that Jessica Prince can go wrong when it comes to small town romance with swoon worthy heroes and feisty heroines! One thing I admire about every single novel that Jessica writes is that the supporting characters are always just as important and impactful as the main ones. This story was no exception!
I adored everything about Farah. She was so darn strong and driven. Her determination to start over and leave her past behind was such an appealing driving force. Her story was gut-wrenching and traumatic. How she managed to cope and overcome blew my mind. Heroines like her are so often portrayed realistically and Prince did an incredible job with this one.
Cannon, while rough and rugged was a true southern gentleman when it counted most. His mama raised him right and would have his hide otherwise. He wasn’t “just a mechanic” and Farah saw that.
The slow burn of this romance story was the perfect pace! It took time and attention to get these two characters to realize their potential and acknowledge how perfect they were for each other when all was said and done.
Everything about Redemption, TN was just as appealing as Hope Valley! I cannot wait to experience more from this crew and their little corner of heaven.
AMAZING! Bad Alibi is the first book in Jessica’s newest series and I am OBSESSED! I have already read this book twice. JP is a go-to author for me, but I swear Cannon and Farah’s story is my all-time (newest) favorite! The love story is beautiful and perfect, but Frarah’s personal story brought me to my knees. I will not leave any spoilers, but this is a MUST READ! Five stars will never be enough for this book!
Who doesn’t love a woman who stands up for herself and is bound and determined to make it on her own? I know I sure do!
Farah Highland has lived in a gilded cage, though she’s been trying to buck against her upbringing her entire life. And she’s finally taken the steps she’s needed to break away from the hypocrisy and poisonous lifestyle her parents tried to force upon her. She’s broken free and is determined to live a happy, better life than whatever was planned for her. She’s making her own decisions, her own choices and she’s finally happy.
Especially now that her new home is under renovation—bringing back the grand old Victorian charm that’s been long neglected. And she’s making friends—real friends—while waitressing at Bad Alibi. And she’s also caught the attention of the resident bad boy, Cannon Banks.
And the Cannon effect is in full force! There’s just something about the man Farah can’t stay away from. Even with her past—her fears, her pain, her recovery from unspeakable acts.
But Cannon can’t stay away—can’t/won’t give up on the first and only woman he’s wanted for long term. He’s bound and determined to make Farah his.
I love how Cannon and Farah’s relationship develops. That slow burning desire that simmers under the surface, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to boil up and over. Their banter, their romance is sweet, sexy and enduring. And I love how the town of Redemption envelops Farah in their warmth and freely giving friendship and protectiveness. I cannot wait for more from this series! ~ Missy, 5 stars
What a wonderful beginning to a new series. Take a Tennessee biker town that is full of some of the best people around, add in a sweet girl trying to make a new start, and you have a great book. I loved Cannon and Farah. The story unfolds and the reader just wants more. Even when Farah’s past meets her present, you just knew everything was eventually going to be ok. The secondary characters are wonderful as well. As I read, I just tried to imagine who Jessica was going to put in their lives for another story. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
Bad Alibi is the book 1 in The Redemption series by Jessica Prince. This is a spin-off of The Hope Valley series and it’s set in a small biker town. This is Farah and Cannon’s story.
Without giving anything away, this is such a complex, emotional, endearing, beautiful, sizzling, intense, amazing, sweet story that will have you rooting for the main characters in this read. There is some crossover from the Hope Valley series/characters but this is a new series and a standalone. It’s amazing and I loved the chemistry between Farah and Cannon. You have to literally experience this story , the rollercoaster ride of ups and downs/ highs and lows and highs to get how brilliant the writing and characters are. I enjoyed the plot, characters , feels, small town feeling, and the beautiful romance that comes the readers way. I look forward to the next book in the series next (book 2).
My Rating: 4.8 stars ********
Bad Alibi has everything I love in a great book! An incredibly strong heroine, an amazing hero, such beautiful people who care about them. . . . .all sorts of crazy angsty sexual tension, laughter, friendship, but also suspense, mystery and justice. Jessica Prince seamlessly brings us from Hope Valley to Redemption. We met Cannon Banks in Out of the Darkness and he was so intriguing I couldn’t wait for his book. He certainly had to give his all to win over Farah Highland. Farah moves to Redemption to start her life over after a traumatic event. She is strong and capable and focused on getting her fixer upper renovated. Cannon Banks looks like trouble but the kind she can’t deny. This book is so good. There is many layers to this book and in the end you just want more. And I can’t wait!!! Easy 1 click!!!
There is a reason that I adore this author, and this book is just an example of why. It is a spinoff of the Hope Valley series, which if someone hasn’t read it then they need to asap. I loved that series but have a funny feeling that this one is going to beat that one. This book has all of the things that this author is known for; strong characters, great plot, just the right amount of steam, and secondary characters that make this feel like family.
Cannon was first introduced in Xander and Sage’s story but he is so much more in this one. He had a feel like a Kristen Ashely hero (and God knows how much I LOVE KA), and in truth the whole story felt like her which made me love them even more. Cannon was perfect and once he got his head out of his butt and realized that he had met his one he stopped at nothing to make sure that his girl was good. Goodness knows she deserved it. Farah was such a joy and a remember to not judge a book by its cover because although she didn’t look like someone who might have adapted to life in Redemption it was exactly where she needed to be. I loved that the author chose this as the name of the city. it was perfect considering everything that is in the background of this story.
I look forward to the next characters and where this author takes me next. I know it will be a great and memorable ride.
A new series to deeply love!
It’s incredible the power this author has to hook and enchant the reader.
She is a true story teller and her characters are potent and adicting.
This is the first book in a series of standalone. Kind of like Hope Valley series, featuring a small town (Redemption), adorable, funny and loyal citizens, lots of love and chemistry and a dash of suspense.
In this book, we get the story of Cannon (we’ve met him in Out Of The Darkness) and Farah.
In paper, they could be polar opposites. But when they are together, all their differences and similarities dont matter.
That’s because their feelings speak way louder than what could come in between them.
They are from different worlds, him being comfortable in his, her running away from hers, only to crash in his world and fall in love (with it and with him).
Him knowing what is like to have loving friends and family. Her only being loved by two people.
But even with their different backgrounds, they both love with everything they’ve got, they are loyal and ready to jump at everything to help someone.
They both cant deny their feelings and chemistry.
Cannon and Farah touched me so deeply. I couldnt unglue my eyes from their words and their story.
I felt like I was hungry and they were this delicious meal I couldnt have enough and was finished way too fast.
I’m already starving for them.
This author has done it again – given us another town full of characters to fall in love with & I for one am extremely HAPPY!!!
Farah’s reasons for moving to Redemption are heartbreaking, but the joy & family she finds there are so wonderfully written. She & Cannon have instant chemistry, but it’s not an instant relationship. They have some bumps in the road to get through first. I love how those are written – part if it is a usual hard no for me, but the way that part’s done in this case was completely believable & didn’t give me the “ugh, no” feeling. So that was a plus!!
Once they get together, they’re together & I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow! I also LOVE the family & friendships throughout the story. HUGE thumbs up & looking forward to the next story in the series!! : )
What a wonderful book! I fell in love with everybody from the Hope Valley series and was excited about this spinoff series set in Redemption. It was a fantastic story and I loved Farah and Cannon and everyone else I met in this town. If you loved Hope Valley you will love Redemption. I can’t wait for the next book!
