Jake Littlefield hates Thanksgiving. So, naturally, his sister abandons him to spend the holiday in Blessings where the town starts celebrating a week early. The only thing keeping him from hopping onto the next plane to Miami is the promise his sister makes to leave his love life alone for a year if he’ll endure a week-long stay in Blessings. At least, that’s what he’s telling himself… Teresa … himself…
Teresa Rampton’s marriage and subsequent divorce has left her a little gun-shy in the romance department. Content to wrap her world around her young son Logan, she’s unprepared when her new guest comes in for a landing.
Now, if he’d just ask her to the Harvest Ball, things might go smoothly with the mysterious pilot taking control of her Thanksgiving.

Backward Blessings by Rachel A. Andersen is a wonderful story to read. This is book number six in this wonderful series writen by a brand new author for me to read. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about sweet contamporary and small town romance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A lovely little book that has great cast of characters that intersect for one week around Thanksgiving.
A man named Jake is a pilot and he shows up to an event in his dress blues? Yes, please! Luckily Teresa is already in his sights since he is staying at her Bed in Breakfast in Blessings, Kansas.
Jake tries a little harder than he normally would to get a lady’s attention but he placed a bet with his sister that he would attend and enjoy the town’s festivities in an attempt for her to lay over her judgement and meddling.
Teresa is very protective of her and her son’s little world as her and Logan are coming off the spiral of being left behind by Logan’s father, Colin.
Rachel A. Andersen is a treat for fans of Debbie Macoomber and Robyn Carr. Enjoy the whole series that embraces the lives of people in the midwest.
Backward Blessings: A Small Town Second Chance Romance (Blessings of Love Book 6)
Backward Blessings is the perfect book to make you fall into the Fall spirit. It being the last book in a multi-author series never took away from my enjoyment of the story, and what a story it was! I absolutely fell in love with both Jake and Teresa, and I couldn’t wait to see how their relationship would unfold. I loved that they both were broken people, but were willing to work through their issues in order to be with one another. The author did a wonderful job of dealing with issues such as dealing with a toxic relationship or losing a loved one.
My only complaint is with myself, and that’s for not picking it up sooner than I did. This novella sucked me in from the first page, and never let go. Completely recommended, and I’ll be checking out other books by this author.
Wonderfully written storyline and well created characters kept me totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
Backward Blessings gives the reader a lesson in what a blessing life can be, if we don’t dwell on the negative. In this book young Logan says that a backward blessing is when something bad happens to make room for something better.
Jake is jaded and spends his thanksgivings avoiding family and partying on the beach. He doesn’t realize how empty his life really is, and he’s content to keep it that way.
Theresa is a newly single mom, who loves her son and isn’t interested in any man. She’s content to run her Aunt’s business and isolate herself and her son from any more hurt.
Sometimes, life throws a curveball. With a little help from a boy, a nosy sister, and matchmaking old ladies, there may be a chance at love.
Logan is a sweetheart and each person in the story has their own unique character.
I loved this book. I received an ARC courtesy of the author and this is my honest review.
Lovely addition to the series. Great small town romance. I think the characters were written realistically. I originally wasn’t a fan of the h but as you read more of the story her earlier interactions make sense and we are able to see her & the H grow. It is a novella but still has a nice, believable flow to the story. A satsifying read.
This is a well written small town romance between Jake and Teresa. It’s a sweet story with strong characters and an entertaining story line. I loved little Logan and the feisty matchmaking grandmother and enjoyed reading their story. The author does a great job bringing the story to life with her detailed scenes adding drama, a bit of steam and anxiety as well as the growing love. The story moves quickly and smoothly and I would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I loved the idea of Backward Blessings and good coming from bad things. I also enjoyed discovering why Jake Littlefield hated Thanksgiving and watching how his sister’s Thanksgiving bet changed his life when he arrived at the Beautiful Blessing B&B in Blessings, Kansas.
I also liked the characters of Teresa Rampton and her young son, Logan and her grandmother. I liked that Teresa was finally able to stand up for herself and not be intimidated by her ex-husband, Colin.
My favorite part was the epilogue. This was a wonderful story of backward blessings, hope, family and love. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Backward Blessings is another novella about a small town. This book is a quick read and a sweet romance. Jack is not thrilled that his sister lured him to a town that really celebrates Thanksgiving – his least favorite holiday. Teresa runs the B&B where Jake is staying. This book demonstrates many great things about small towns. It is a sweet, well written romance with some great characters – especially Teresa’s son and grandmother. I read it straight through and was sad to reach the end.
Delightful Story.
Jake dislikes Thanksgiving as it brings back unhappy memories, so he is less than pleased when his sister guilts him into spending the week in the festival loving town of Blessings. However, when he meets Theresa and her seven year old son Logan, the holiday season doesn’t seem so bad. This is a quick but lovely read with relatable characters.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jake Littlefield visits Blessings, Kansas and stays at Beautiful Blessings Bed and Breakfast. Teresa Rampton is the manager and a single mom to her son, Logan. They are attracted to each other, but Jake figures why start something, since he’ll only be there a week. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say this book surprised me with some of the content. A great read, if you’re looking for a Thanksgiving read.
