4. If your brother’s wife has a best friend who happens to be hot as hell, definitely don’t hook up with her—Oops.
When Marine Corps veteran Luke Martinelli agrees to be a groomsman for one of his buddies, he fully expects to find himself a hot little hook-up at the wedding. The last thing he expects is to bump into Chloe Laurent, the woman he’s secretly been in love with since they were in first grade—and who disappeared from their hometown of New Orleans immediately after their one-night-stand six years earlier. Instead of finding a hook-up for the night, Luke sets his sights on finishing what he and Chloe started the last time he saw her.
Luck is on Luke’s side when he finds out Chloe has not only moved back into their old neighborhood, but has also started hanging out with his tight-knit circle of friends. But when Chloe shows up at one of the group’s get-togethers with her five-year-old son, Jackson—who happens to have the same distinctive gray eyes that Luke does—Luke is faced with the realization that his one night with Chloe resulted in something neither of them were prepared for: parenthood.
But Luke has no way of knowing for sure if Jackson is his son, and Chloe doesn’t even hint at trying to tell Luke that he’s the father, so Luke has to take matters into his own hands. With the holidays approaching, and Chloe feeling the financial pinch of trying to provide for Jackson with only her meager salary, Luke decides the best way to get the truth from Chloe is by winning her heart and Jackson’s with a little Christmas magic.
BACK TO YOU is the heartwarming, humorous story of childhood love and a very grown-up choice. Set against the magical backdrop of the Big Easy during the holidays, this second chance romance follows a plucky hero and a determined heroine as they face the consequences of reckless behavior from their complicated shared past. This Christmas romantic comedy is the fourth standalone in the Romance in New Orleans series from bestselling romance author Katherine L. Evans, however it is best enjoyed by first reading its prequels, Only the Strong and Luck of the Draw. Make New Orleans your home for the holidays at any time of the year as you immerse yourself in the lives of a quirky group of tight-knit friends who love to gossip, but love each other even more.

The writing will draw you in after only a few pages and have you finishing the book in one sitting. There is the perfect amount of angst and romance to keep you hooked.
I loved how the relationship unfolded slowly so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways they never expected. I would suggest picking up a copy of both books asap you will not be disappointed.
Each book can be read as a standalone or they can be read in order of publication as one long series. Each book is interconnected, with many of the same characters showing up in multiple books.

Luke and Chloe have known each other since childhood and six years ago they had a one-night stand. Chloe left town after finding out she was pregnant and not knowing who the dad was.
I like that we could see the growth of the characters and their chemistry.

This was a marvelous story. It was a heartwarming tale of love and romance. It was awesome. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
I really enjoyed this story, it has no over the top plot, just love, family, kids and communication errors.
Luca has loved Chloe since he was 6 years old. In 7th grade he tried as boys try by poking her to let her know and she told him it was seal harassment. So he just watched her, as her best friend married his brother. Then she disappeared.
Six years later they meet again and this is their sweet, funny, complicated story.
So laugh, cry, and want with them as they watch their friends fall in love and want what they have.

This was a really good enjoyable read and is Chloe and Luke’s story, these two have known each other since they were kids and six years ago they had a one night deal at Christmas when she ended up pregnant she did not know who the dad was so she did not tell either guy. Now six years later she runs into Luke at a wedding the attraction between them is still there and he wants her again but with her responsibility’s she turns him down, of course, he happens to see her son and one look and he knows he is his. Now he is determined to get both his son and Chloe.
Chloe comes back home after six years with a young son in tow. She has been through the grind and needs some friends and moral support. Luke has missed her and is kicking himself for not calling her after their one night. He thinks the boy is his son. It seems to be enough impetus to get Luke to actually get a real job since he left the Marines. They get caught up in their friends dramas and have to deal with their own. Picks up the characters from the previous book and continues on with the story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
When Chloe got back to town Luke knew that he cannot let her slip through his fingers again. But she has a son now and she is wary of a relationship. And then there is the question of fatherhood – can the sweet little boy be his? Chloe learns that she is not alone anymore through the friendships she forms. Luke tries his best to make her see that he can be there in the way she needs him to be. This is a story about two hearts which was broken before but longs for another chance at love. I love this author’s writing.

In this contemporary romance, Luke and Chloe, who have known each other since childhood, had a one-night stand six years ago at a Christmas party that resulted in a pregnancy. Because Chloe wasn’t sure who the father might be–she was having a little too much fun over the Christmas holiday–she told neither man about her son. She leaves her hometown, New Orleans, soon after she discovers she’s pregnant. She returns after she’d been gone for six years, and she’s surprised to come upon Luke later during a fancy society wedding. He’s a bit of a player and hopes to hook up with her again; he still feels an attraction to her and believes he has always had a crush on her. With her new responsibilities, both with her job and her child, is she is not into casual hookups.
Of course, Luke sees the boy, Jackson, and notices that the boy has his eyes. He figures that he must be the boy’s father, but Chloe keeps silent. He is determined to have his son and his baby mama back in his life and sets out to win them both with a Christmas surprise.
This book had some of the common errors with grammar, punctuation, and usage, but this didn’t detract from the story. I found Luke an interesting hero because he did need to grow and change to accept the possibility of being a father. Despite some mistakes in her past, Chloe is a good mom and is trying to do her best in a difficult situation.
3 1/2 Stars
A sweet but odd little romance between Chloe and Luke. As much as the said they were special to each other, they were pretty adamant that they were just childhood friends who hooked up. Pretty yukky on how Chloe didn’t even know who the dad was, but it kind of made sense at the end how things turned out the way they did. My heart broke for Chloe and felt for her in the way her family truly let her down.
Sweet and kind of sad romance with a feel good ending.

What I like about this story it’s the down on heart feeling you have after reading it. All the characters are interesting and extra bonus for the neighbourly feeling who make the story realistic
