This style of book (ie medical romance) is new for me, I’ve discovered that it is not for me. As you can imagine, there is a LOT of medical terminology present. With that being said, the book is sweet and romantic and it gives second chances hope.
1) What worked for me:
-I liked that there were only 2 POVs
-the steamy scenes were great
2) What did not work for me:
-I was drowning in medical terminology (which is to be expected)
-I could have used more smutty scenes
Trigger warning: miscarriage
Ideal reader: someone who loves contemporary medical romances

This is the first book I have read from this author and I really enjoyed it. I was captivated from beginning to end. A fabulous second chance love story.
I loved the characters and I look forward to reading more in the series and going back to read the Station Seventeen books as well.
Good Lord.
Back to You will blow your head off in the best possible way. On the surface, it’s a second-chance romance between Parker Drake and Charleston Becker, who the first time around, fell hard and fast when they were both interns at Remington Memorial. Unfortunately they then hit the emotional equivalent of a wall, and the impact broke them apart, leaving them wounded and alone.
Fast forward six years, and Charlie Becker is back at Remington Mem for the first time in that span, stepping in as temporary attending for the next ten weeks. She’s worked her tail off to be at the top of her game, and she’s now a highly respected general surgeon who’s earned that ten weeks of leave from her regular post so that she can step in for her very pregnant best friend, Tess. On her first morning as attending, guess who steps through the front doors as one of the first-year interns?
Parker never expected to see Charlie again, much less be working under her tutelage, and under the eagle eye of the chief of staff. Unfortunately for Parker, Charlie has only gotten smarter, beautiful, and more appealing in the intervening years. And most important, she doesn’t seem to feel the same.
Charlie is shocked and dismayed, to say the least, to see Parker not to mention having to oversee him and his work for the next several months. She no longer trusts him, and the close contact brings fresh hurt.
Kimberly Kincaid does a spectacular job with Back to You. Charlie and Parker are well drawn and compelling characters, with a terrific supporting cast of fellow doctors and interns. This is competence porn at its finest, and Ms Kincaid does an incredible job with pacing. Charlie and Parker share incendiary chemistry, much as either might prefer otherwise, and Ms Kincaid also does not shy away from also revealing the depth of their pain and hurt. Thankfully neither does she wallow overlong there, but allows them to show how much they have come in the six years.
Back to You is a deliciously enjoyable read, and I can’t wait for the rest of this series!
Remington Medical just got hotter
We met Parker when he was Quinn’s paramedic partner in Station Seventeen and lived through his injury which brought Quinn and Luke together! Parker decided after his injury that he was going to reapply to become a doctor, as that is his life long dream. When he shows up to the ER with a patient he’s helped, he quickly discovers his ex-wife is also at the same hospital, even though he hasn’t seen her in more than six years.
Charlie is back at Remington Medical where she is helping out her bestie, while she’s on maternity leave, running the ER. But on her first day, she sees Parker, her ex-husband and discovers he’s an intern yet again and she’s his attending. Oh dear
I loved this story as it was another addition to some of my favourite characters and also nice to catch up with a few of them again tooLooking forward to getting stuck into Jonah’s story next
Another fantastic series starter for Kimberly Kincaid!! I adore Charlie and Parker so much and second chance romances are one of my favorite kinds. This is a sexy, sweet and very satisfying story all the way around!
I loved it!!
This book was completely average.
Not a lot more I can say.
Better luck next time, I guess.
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
This pulls you in and makes you want to keep reading. The characters Charlie and Parker were fantastic. The story and the side characters make it great. I enjoyed the book and recommend it to all. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.
This is a story that is emotionally charging. It brings Parker and Charlie back together years after their divorce. It is emotionally charging and worth every minute invested in reading it.

Charlie has taken over for her best friend Tess while she is on maternity leave. She hadn’t been back here for over 6 years, where she was an intern herself and where she left after her marriage fell apart post trauma and grief.
Parker is doing it this time- he left his internship 6 years ago and became a paramedic but now it’s time to become the doctor he always wanted to. He just didn’t expected his teacher attending doctor to be his ex wife.
This story is like an episode of ER blended with greys anatomy. Fast paced with trauma patients and medical emergencies, full of the back stage look at the doctors, and staff the care for those patients and romance all rolled into one.
I am so glad I picked up this book. Getting to see the other doctors and interns and some of the support. I am curious to see who else has a HEA.
Sophia Vasquez and Emmett Mallory?
Connor and Tess (cause she needs to ditch that husband of hers)?
Boldin and Young?
I cannot wait to see Jonah and Natalie’s story- best friends really do have the potential for an amazing HEA. I know his reputation but honestly I think it’s mostly fabricated- cannot wait to see if I am right about that flirt. So next book hurry up because this author has me hook-line-and sinker.

Overall this was a good read. It would have been better if it had spent less time with all the medical stuff and focused more on the romance. However, it was still enjoyable. Charlie is covering for her friend while she is on maternity leave. She is left to deal with the interns. Of course one of them is her ex Parker. Most of the time they are working on patients but their free time is spent with each other. No matter how hard Charlie tried to fight it we all knew in the end they would be together.
I love a good second-chance romance because the familiarity between the characters can lead to a much hotter, gripping romance. (Much like the brother’s friend trope, which is also a favorite!) Throw in the medical setting and Kimberly has given us a doozy in Charlie and Parker’s rocky path to HEA!
Charleston (Charlie) Becker and Parker Drake had met as interns at Remington Memorial Hospital and quickly fallen in love, including marriage and a baby on the way. After a devastating miscarriage, their relationship faltered and had ended up with Parker walking away from his internship and Charlie leaving to continue her residency in Nashville. Now 6 years later, Charlie is a successful general surgeon returning to Remington to fill in for her best friend Tess during her maternity leave. Unbeknownst to them, Parker is also resuming his path towards becoming a physician after working as a paramedic (Kimberly’s ‘Station Seventeen’ series) since shortly after leaving his original internship.
Their initial reunion is testy but they come to an uneasy agreement to bury their past and work together as colleagues. On Charlie’s part, she assumes Parker will give up and leave like the first time. All Parker wants is to finally realize his dream and knowing the Charlie will only be there 10 weeks, he hopes that they can work together and vows to remain professional. Of course since this is a romance, their ‘professional relationship only’ agreement doesn’t last and they begin a purely physical relationship that eventually jeopardizes both of their careers.
There is a lot to the story and a cast of engaging characters (even cranky Don!) that makes this a fun yet heartfelt read. As a reader, you feel the emotion from both Charlie and Parker which is definitely something that I look for when reading. They don’t come off as fake or staged, and I have always found that a connection to the characters is important for me to truly enjoy a book. And boy, can Kimberly write some steamy love scenes! I think I even blushed at one of them and I read a lot of straight-up erotica! But the combination of heart and heat is a signature of Kimberly’s books and ‘Back to You’ is definitely a contender for one of my favorites by her!
I would definitely recommend this for fans of TV shows like ER or Grey’s Anatomy, and fans of contemporary romance. If you are new to Kimberly’s books, this can be read as a stand-alone; knowledge of the Station Seventeen books is nice but not necessary!
I love second chance romance stories, so this story really popped out with me.
Charlie and Parker are a great pair. Learning their backstory and getting to see them push and poke at each other as they start growing closer is a huge plus. And Kimberly Kincaid doesn’t skimp on the details either, she makes sure to keep the story flowing and doesn’t forget about the fact that they are in a hospital. PLUS there are several characters being introduced so you KNOW there will be plenty more of this series to watch for.
Really enjoyed.

Can a doctor and an ex work in the same place? This is something that Dr. Charleston Becker never thought about until her past comes back. I loved that Kimberly Kincaid created Parker Drake in a way that pushes Charleston into feeling things she steps back from. The attraction between them is still there yet this time there is no holding back for neither of them. We see not only these two but some of Station 17 crew as well seeing how easy this series blends with them. Loved it cannot wait for Dr. Jonah and what Kimberly Kincaid will do with this new series.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This one was enjoyable. Some of the story line was intense. Non stop page turning story line. Charlie returns to help out her best friend. Little does she know the man that she thinks run away from her is back as an intern at the same hospital she is at. How well will these two work together? Is there still something between them? Amazing storyline great characters with great chemistry. This was a page turner with some great action. Gripping from beginning to end.
For the first time in six years Charlie will return to Remington Memorial Hospital in North Carolina, the place that holds the happiest and most painful memories of her life. It is all because of a favor to her pregnant best friend Tess who place she agreed to take at the hospital for the next ten weeks.
Parker has recently returned to Remington Memorial Hospital to pursue his internship for the second time. It was a shock to both he and Charlie to find out that she would be one of the doctors that he would be reporting to.
Parker and Charlie have a painful past and now that they are working together, they are finally going to have to deal with it. The know that in the best interest of their careers they should keep their distance however some feelings are impossible to deny and worth the risk.
This is a second chance at love story between two people who were meant to be together until tragedy tore them apart. This is a great beginning to a new series, and I can’t wait for the next installment.
On Charlotte’s first day of covering her friend’s maternity leave, her past comes face to face with her present – in the form of her ex, now an intern at HER hospital. What’s a surgeon to do?!
Well, in Charlotte’s case, at first, she gets all cold and boss-like and tries to ignore the fact that one of her interns is her ex. But Parker’s not about to let Charlotte go now that he’s got her in his sights again. His ex, the one he let go, walked from 6 years ago. But, he’s got a lot of groveling and working to do if he plans on winning over Charlotte, because she’s just as determined to stay away from him, even though her heart is begging her to give him a second chance.
I have to admit that medical based stories are not normally something I’m into, but Parker and Charlotte won me over with their palpable chemistry, with the love that had never disappeared. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it was so enjoyable reading these two fall back into each other. I am so looking forward to more of this series, and more from this author.
Awesome drama in this fantastic new series. Charlie and Parker take quite an emotional ride in this second chance romance. Drama, excitement, and chemistry – a great read!!

5 Stars
What an amazing start to a new series. Charlie and Parker have a second chance at happiness but what a rollercoaster ride to get there! They have such a painful past to overcome that being thrown together as attending and intern is not ideal and completely unexpected. What follows is intense, sweet, sexy and heart pounding. I loved this new cast of characters and cannot wait for more!
