Parker Drake only has one shot at a second chance of becoming a doctor, and he’ll take it—even if it includes being mentored by his ex-wife, surgeon Charleston Becker. A sexy second-chance romance that will have you turning the pages till the end—and wishing there was more.
BACK TO YOU is a steamy medical contemporary that has action in the emergency room and the bedroom! It’s a GREAT read!
You will love this amazing new book by Kimberly Kincaid as she brings you an all new story. Think Greys Anatomy only better, hotter and did I mention HOTTER?
BACK TO YOU is a steamy medical contemporary that has action in the emergency room and the bedroom!
A fabulous, emotional, super sexy second-chance romance. I loved every minute of it.
Hot, hot and more smoking hot! Amazing chemistry + a touching second-chance romance = a must read.
I absolutely LOVE Ms. Kincaid’s work–and this series is one of her best! Anyone who likes their Grey’s Anatomy with a bit more spice, with a healthy does of emotion and banter, is going to be so satisfied with this read. Brava!
Sexy doctor, second chances, and we still get to see the hot cops and firefighters Kimberly is known for?? It doesn’t get any better than this!!
Ok, so at first, it took a little work on my part to keep the names aligned, Charlie was the girl and Parker was the guy, but OMG, the backstory, the story, and the characters suck you right into the mix.
Dr. Charleston Becker and intern, Dr. Parker Drake really pull you into their story from the very beginning with the barbs being delivered by Charlie’s best friend, Dr. Tess Michaelson. Charlie and Parker have history dating back 6 years, and even though they haven’t seen each other for that long, the chemistry is still present and very hot.
The story line is so good that you don’t even notice the hero and heroine haven’t had sex until about 1/3, almost halfway thru the book, It was kind of like reading a Tennessee version of Chicago Med and Chicago Fire combined.
I loved that while Parker was definitely an alpha male, he was vulnerable and freely let Charlie know how he felt about her. It was great to have Charlie with the superior position, which was refreshing to read.
I can’t wait for Jonah’s story. He and Natalie should be just as good.
Absolutely in love with this masterpiece from Kimberly Kincaid.
This book has it all — heart-pounding action, two insanely smart characters, hot love scenes, tender moments, and a jaw-dropping sacrifice that just about stole my breath away. Can’t wait to read it again. (That’s what I do when I love a book. I re-read the hell out of it.)
Love it! Kimberly Kincaid writes fabulous characters that really keep you coming back for more!!
Back to You is a wonderful second-chance romance written by author Kimberly Kincaid. The tense yet wanting story of intern Parker Drake and surgeon Charlie Becker. In this first book of the Remington Medical Series, Parker gets his second chance to reconnect with Charlie, and they get a chance to understand what happened to them in their marriage and the heartbreak that followed. Unfortunately, she is now his superior/teacher at the hospital so things aren’t able to progress, as that would put his “last chance internship” at risk.
This story has secrets…do those ever turn out well? There is heartbreak, love, heat, humor, friendship, wonderful characters…it has it all! I would easily recommend this one! 5 stars!
Charlie coming back home to help her friend Tess, gets more than she bargains for. Taking over the ER while Tess is on leave, she is responsible for the interns. But full stop! One of them is her ex husband Parker. The end of their marriage didn’t end well from Charlie’s perspective, so how is she going to work with him in the her ER? Parker is determined to become a DR. this time despite Charlie being the one that could derail that dream. The story becomes emotional with pushes and pulls from them both as they try to work together. But there is more than Parker’s dream of becoming a Doctor as he and Charlie work together. Can heartache and pain of the past be healed? Will they find a way to make their future a medical miracle?
*I received a free copy of “Back To You” via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.* 4.5 Stars!
I love Kimberly Kincaid’s books. They are easy reading, funny, and the characters are always interesting. With Back To You, we are introduced into the world of the ER and what it’s like to be an intern at a hospital. So good!!!!!
Very much enjoyed reading this book. Greys Anatomy mixed with Station 19 and a bit of Chicago Fire! Medical speak is On point as is the relationship between once married Parker and Charlie. Steamy scenes and plenty of interest in supporting characters to make to want to read more. This book is a standalone HEA.
4 1/2 STARS!
Fast paced, addictive and delightful! If you’ve been a fan of Kimberly Kincaid’s Station Seventeen series, you’re going to be thrilled to jump into the first in the Remington Medical series where you will see some familiar faces. The characters are well developed, the pace is fast moving and attention holding throughout, and the sexual chemistry is H-O-T! I can’t wait for more to come!
A freak accident made paramedic Parker Drake re-evaluate his life and set out to go finish up the thing he abandoned when life fell apart six years ago … becoming a doctor. He knows with his daredevil reputation and the strike he already has for throwing in the towel once that this is going to be do or die and he’s all in. He just doesn’t know quite how much of a roller coaster it’s going to turn out to be!
Doctor Charleston Becker is back at Remington Memorial for a few weeks as a favor for a friend. She’s expecting to dash in, work non-stop and be back home in Nashville before she knows it. What she doesn’t expect is to have her ex-husband walk in with the group of interns she’s going to be mentoring while she’s there! Awkward!
Emotional, sexy, second chance romance–loved it!
One of my absolute favorite reads is second-chance romance! And I absolutely loved Back to You!
Parker and Charlie have quite the past. They were classmates, friends, lovers, and married until a tragedy pulled them apart six years ago. And they haven’t seen or spoken since.
Until Fate intervenes. Suddenly, they’re now student and teacher.
Charlie is an amazing surgeon who’s made a life and a name for herself during this time. Sure, she doesn’t have much of a social life, but work has always been her driving force. And now that Parker is back in the picture, she’s certainly not going to let him derail her career.
And Parker just wants another chance at the career he’s wanted since he was a kid. He’s always wanted to be a doctor and this opportunity—this second chance—is going to do just that. He’s not giving up on his dream—not after all he’s sacrificed to get to this point. And he’s not going to let a little something like his attraction to his ex-wife derail him.
Gah, I absolutely loved Parker and Charlie’s romance. They had so much history to work through, so much to discuss to move on at last. And so much to rediscover too. I loved watching them rekindle their love. To find a way back to each other—even though so much was working against them too! I loved my time spent with the Remington Medical team and loved catching up with some of my favs from Station Seventeen. Next is Jonah and Natalie and I cannot wait!
This was quite an enjoyable read for me as it was very well written, had lots of fun and drama throughout and the story flowed well. This second chance romance was a great start to this new series and gave a good base for it to build upon. I only wished that there had been a bit more fire between the characters of Parker and Charlie, I really wanted to see them spar with each other more before the passion and spark between them became fully ignited, and there’s one other thing that really bugged me which I will explain below, otherwise this would have been a perfect 5 star read. My problem is that once we got to find out what had happened between them in the past, and what had caused them to split up and get divorced, I found that it lacked the drama of what id been expecting and I was actually a little bit disappointed with the explanation. I thought that it was a bit silly that two intelligent people let things get so far as to walk away from each other without an explanation. I just found it hard to swallow, but that’s just my opinion. Other than that this was a good story with many great secondary characters that not only made the story interesting they made me want to find out more about them, which i’m sure we will do just that in future books.
Back to You is book one in a brand new series, Remington Medical, by Kimberly Kincaid. I have long been a big fan of all things Kimberly and have been so excited to see what this new series is all about. I can’t wait to tell you about it.
Charleston (Charlie) Becker is a successful surgeon at Nashville General Hospital. Charlie’s life revolves around her work and that’s about it. She has accumulated all kinds of vacation time so when her best friend, Tess, who is nearly ready to have a baby and is also a surgeon at Remington Memorial Hospital in North Carolina needs Charlie to fill in for her for ten weeks while she is out on maternity leave, she can’t say no. It’s been six years since Charlie stepped foot into Remington Memorial. Six years since her life fell apart and she moved to Nashville to try to put it all back together again.
Six years ago, Parker Drake was so close to fulfilling his dream of becoming a doctor when he began his internship at Remington Memorial. But everything fell apart and Parker left the program and became a paramedic which he has loved. He has a reputation of being a wild card, though, of breaking the rules when it suits him. Even though he loves his job, his dream was always lurking in the back of his mind. He has decided once and for all that he is going to do what he knows he is destined to do and Remington Memorial has agreed to give him one more chance. Only on his very first day, the doctor standing in front of him, one of several that he will be assigned to, is the woman he never thought he’d see again, that he hasn’t seen in six years, his Charlie.
Six years they haven’t seen each other or spoken. Now they are forced to face each other and finally deal with the past they share. That connection, that chemistry, is still there between them and it doesn’t take long for it to spark back to life. When truths are shared, they realize that they were both at fault for what happened. Forgiveness is a beautiful thing.
“She might want him, but he craved her. And this time, he wasn’t going to let her go.”
Parker and Charlie find the same comfort, that same amazing thing that they had six years ago, is still there. Maybe even better this time since they are both older and more mature. But, if Dr. Langston, the chief at the hospital, found out what was going on between them, Charlie would get fired and let her friend Tess down, and Parker would lose his one and only chance of becoming a doctor. So they had to keep it a secret. Not to mention the fact that Charlie is only at Remington for the duration of Tess’s leave. Then she has to return to her job at Nashville General. So do they just enjoy this time they have now and then say good-bye? Or do they attempt to continue things long distance?
I loved this book. At first, I have to admit that I struggled a bit with Charlie. She seemed cold almost. And her all work mentality bothered me. But as I got to know her and found out what happened, it all made sense. She and Parker together were just magical. They really were made for each other and watching them slowly work their way back to each other was such a beautiful thing.
There were so many secondary characters that I hope to see in future books, one being Charlie’s friend, Tess. But, the next book, will be Jonah and Natalie’s story in Better Than Me. I can’t wait.
