I liked this book. The main character is well-developed, slowly revealed, and the other main characters all are interesting, raise curiosity. There are a lot of characters involved in the story, so many I sometimes forgot who was who among the lesser luminaries. The plot is excellent, and the story-telling well done. I’d recommend it.
Didn’t want to put it down — couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next in this mystery! Really liked the underlying story of family.
excellent plot and ending.
Depicted good relationships between characters based on common interests and working together toward a goal rather than on physical relationships, The plot developed naturally throughout the book until it became more than it initially seemed it would be,
Judy Walker has created a female investigator and writer’s voice that has a flavor of Kinsey Millhone and Sue Grafton. Well written. A real page turner that held my interest through out. Well worth reading.
This was a good, suspenseful story with interesting, colorful characters. It did drag in the beginning, but I liked how she slowly gathered the information and slowly pieced it all together, seemed more real. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Not one of the better books I have read.
I really liked the lead character Sydney, a private investigator, who has lots of guts and some great one-liners (mostly thoughts in her head). An unusual plot and fast-paced!
Well-written with a surprising plot. Thoroughly enjoyable
A good read. Likable characters. My first for this author, not my last!
I loved it couldn’t put it down a real thriller
I really didn’t care for this book.
A long book that held my interest to the end. Well developed characters. Good, realistic storyline.
Loved this book! I can’t wait to read some more Sydney Brennan adventures! Well written with interesting characters.
Gripping.
Great book. Hard to put down.
Enjoyed! Will read the series, for sure
A decent read, but too much like so many other recent female protagonists recently: strong, but subject to males who do not like strong women; intelligent, but act without thought for consequences and then is surprised by the results. We always know she, as the lead character, will survive, no matter what.
