Where can I find a Noah?! He’s seriously the perfect man! Too bad he exists in this book that is definitely a must read! Back in the Ring is the 4th book in the Predator Series by Brooke May. It is a part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I have not read the first 3 but after reading this book I’m more than definitely going back to read them! Bijou had lost her husband 8 years ago and runs a youth center in her small town in Georgia. Noah lost his wife to a tragic accident a year ago and moved to the same town as Bijou. However, Noah is also a World Heavy Weight Champion Boxer and so was his wife. Both Bijou and Noah know what its like to lose someone that they truly loved. They both have children, which become their common ground and with the help of Bijou’s crazy best friend these two unite and learn what it’s like to love again. I loved all the characters in this book and I seriously cannot wait to read the other books and any books to come in this series!
Back in the Ring (The Predator Series Book 4)
By: Brooke May
5 out of 5 stars
The story Back in the Ring (The Predator Series Book 4) by Brooke May is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that hooked me in from the beginning, and I found myself lost in its pages. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down right along with the characters. I loved reading about Bijou Augustine and Noah. Bijou is a woman who runs a youth center. The center is important to her as she is keeping her late husband’s dream alive. At times she finds herself feeling frustrated, angry, and defeated. She is determined that the center will stay open even with donations dwindling. Noah is a man that is handsome and charming. He is kind and is willing to work for nothing. From the first time she meets Noah, Bijou feels a strong attraction to him. She is affected by him. There is a connection between them. Both Bijou and Noah are still healing from the pain that has occurred in their lives. Will these two take a chance and start a relationship? What does the future hold for them? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has both heartbreaking and heartwarming scenes. I grew to care about both Bijou and Noah with each chapter that I read, and I was wanting them both to find happiness. There is romance and steamy moments included in this book. There are also additional characters that you read about, and I enjoyed reading about the interactions they have with Bijou and Noah. Don’t miss out on a story that is well written and you won’t want to put down until you have read the ending. I highly recommend reading it.
Back in the Ring is the fourth book in Brooke May’s The Predator Series. I had not read the first three books and Back in the Ring is my first read by this writer BUT it will NOT be the last one! I will need to go back and start from the beginning … I know that the Predator appeared in this book for 5 seconds (or so) and you can read every story in the series as a standalone … alas, I have learnt that you definitely get more enjoyment out of books in a series when you read the whole series.
Back in the Ring is the story of Bijou Augustine, a widow who lives in a small town with her young daughter and runs a youth centre that was her husband’s dream, and of Noah Stone, a grieving man that lost his wife a year earlier and has escaped to this small town with his toddler son. Bijou is what you see – hard working, passionate, working hard on keeping her husband’s legacy alive … and in this declining economy not doing too well … Noah is a different story, he looks like a mountain man with the weight of the world on his shoulders … he harbours secrets tough and you will want to ride a long on their journey to a future …
It was a great story with well-developed characters, I absolutely loved the children – they added realism and cuteness to the story! And I wish I had a best friend like Bijou had … every woman needs their own Mara! I cannot wait to see what the writer brings next to the table!

I absolutely loved this story! Ive not read any others from this series but it read to me as a standalone.
This was a story about second chances at love for both characters after loss.
I really felt we learned alot about Bijou but not a ton about Noah, I wish we could’ve been in his head!
I can’t say much about this story without giving the main points away but this was a must read and now I’ll be reading the previous books to read of other characters in this series!

I absolutely loved this story! This might be the fourth book in The Predator series and I read it as a standalone but I had no problems at all understanding what was going on. I believe each book can be read as a standalone however after reading about these characters I absolutely want to read the other books in the series too!
Back in the Ring was a wonderful story, the authors writing was captivating, exciting and entertaining. It didn’t take me long at all to fall in love with the characters in this book at all. Both Bijou and Noah’s stories were really emotional and I have to say I was totally rooting for them the whole way through, I thought that they both deserved to find happiness again after both suffering such loss in their lives. I could really feel every emotion that poured out of them and I thought that that author did an amazing job with them.
I really cannot wait to read more by this author again in the future!
Back in the Ring by Brooke May
4-stars
Back in the Ring by Brooke May is the 4th book in the Predator series and the first book of the series that I’ve read, however, having said that I had no problem jumping into this book as there was plenty of detail that I easily followed along. Having read this book, I now can’t wait to read the first three books in the series
.
Noah and Bijou’s story is sweet, emotional and romantic. I enjoyed the storyline and the seamless flow of Brooke’s writing. All the detail she wrote with made it so easy for me to picture everything playing out in my mind, which made this an entertaining read!
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!
Back in the Ring (The Predator Series Book 4) by Brooke May is another wonderful story in this series and is a second chance romance. This beautiful story is filled with lots of emotion that will break your heart but will also make you smile. There are new beginnings for our beautiful characters as they both deal with the loss of their partners. Brooke excels at this type of writing and is able to inject so much emotion, wonder and lets not forget the added bonus of a little steam and sizzle and of course the best friend who is an absolute joy and had me laughing at her antics.
Bijou is struggling to keep the youth centre her husbands dream going and support her teenage daughter, but she doesn’t know how she will be able to keep it going unless things change.
Noah Stone is struggling with the loss of his wife and being a single father to a two year old son. His only way to start to heal was moving to a small town and on beautiful woman. But when his past catches up with him will all he has built come crashing down?
This story was such a delight to read that I was disappointed when it ended. I wanted more.

Well my goodness! This was a fun and enticing little read! I have not had the pleasure of reading any of the other previous Predator series books by Brooke May before I scooped up Back in the Ring, but I had no problems at all with understanding or character placements etc., and I really truly am stoked to now be able to to go back and have three books to devour while I wait for the next book to come. This book has a bit of everything in it, from the drama and the comedy to break it up, tearful moments where I was wanting to reach out and hug the characters, to the moments where I was so over the moon in love with them. Every emotion felt was real and raw, I felt as if I was there with the characters a lot of the time.
Bijou Augustine is determined to keep her dead husband’s dream alive, the struggling and dilapidated youth center. Things only become more complicated for Bijou as her daughter approaches the difficult tween years and tries every last nerve she has. Then life as she knows it will be forever changed when she meets the handsome Noah. As perfect as they seem however there is a secret lurking in his past… You HAVE to one-click and find out how this story comes together for Bijou and Noah. I am sure that you will fall in love with them just as much as I have! Happy reading!
Back in the Ring was an emotional 5 star read and book four in The Predator Series.
I was pulled right in from the beginning.
Bijou is a widow who is struggling to keep her and her husbands dream alive, she is trying to get donations to keep the youth center open. She is also struggling with her teen daughter being rebellious on top of it. Her best friend is determined to get her out and dating, when a hottie moves in next to her bestie things take an interesting turn.
Noah is moving forward after losing his wife a year before. He is now working as a handyman raising his son in a new town. Fate brings him and Bijou together when he calls her looking for a babysitter for his son.
These two were meant for each other, to help heal and move forward. We get some steamy moments, the chemistry was great. Noah was great but had some secrets that could change everything for him. What will happen if Bijou learns his secrets? Can they have a HEA?
All of the secondary characters were great, loved her best friend, her daughter had me steaming at times. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it, this is a great second chance romance. 1-click and get started today.

Back In the Ring is the fourth book in The Predator Series by Brooke May. It is a wonderful second chance romance, with lots of emotion, new beginnings, a little drama, superb characters, and lots of sizzle. It is the fourth book in a series of standalones- but having said that there are recurring characters who have had their own book/s previously, who also make appearances in this book (and each others). They really are worth getting to know, too. You don’t need to have read the other three books before starting this one, but they are great stories in their own right and do help to build a bigger picture for you.
Bijou Augustine is a widow who lives in a small town with her 12 year old daughter. With the downturn of the economy she has been struggling to keep her youth centre afloat. It was her late husband’s dream, and his legacy- so she’s determined to do everything she can to keep it running. She begins a fundraising campaign to find donations that will help keep the doors open. The centre desperately needs some repairs and is at the top of her list of priorities. When her best friend’s new neighbour turns out to be a handyman, things start to get interesting.
Noah Stone lost his wife a year earlier, leaving him a single father to his two and a half year old son. He is a broken man, with secrets that will soon come into play. He is a great father, and a caring man. But he has pushed people away and taken a step back from the world. So, is he really ready to move on? What happens when secrets are revealed? Will it bring them closer or drive them apart for good?
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are really well developed, interesting, and endearing- Claire and Holder were a great addition to the story. They helped to bring a realism and believability to the story- as well as some cuteness. And everyone needs a friend like Mara- she was hilarious.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. May does next.
Thank you, Ms. May!
Back in the Ring by Brooke May is book four of The Predator Series. Back in the Ring is a contemporary romance and can be read as a standalone. I couldn’t put this book down!!
Bijou, in an effort to keep her husband’s dream alive is pushing herself to run a youth center and keep it going. More often than not she just feels defeated. Noah is such a kind person who really wants to help Bijou keep the center open. There is an immediate connection between Bijou and Noah and Bijou can’t help the attraction. However, both Bijou and Noah are dealing and trying to heal with things from their past and Bijou is not sure she’s able to handle Noah’s demons with her own issues on her plate.
I really enjoyed this book. The entire time I felt all the emotions the characters were feeling. I couldn’t put this book down and didn’t want to! I absolutely want to read more books in this series now. I’m hooked.
Bijou lost Elijah who was her everything, leaving her with their daughter, Claire, who is going through a defiant stage, while Bijou is doing everything, she can to save the dream of the centre which isn’t going well, she needs more donations and isn’t getting enough to keep it afloat.
When Noah turns up, she wasn’t expecting him to be that sexy or her body to react to him. Everything is going well, and he agrees to come back with a quote for the repairs she needs done, but she’s surprised when the smiling Noah changes into a scowl, making her wonder what happened to change him, she thought there was an interest but then thinks she was wrong. Bijou friend can’t believe that she’s interested in Noah and that he might be the one to finally heal her heart.
Bijou realises the look in Noah’s eyes is loss an one similar to her own, she knows there’s something there, that she hasn’t felt in a long time but doesn’t want to push, but when Noah kisses her when he drops them off she knows they both felt it, but have they both healed enough to give each other a chance.
Back in the Ring by Brooke May was my first book this author, it might be the fourth book in the Predator series but you don’t need to read the other to fall in love with this wonderful second chance romance. Bijou Augustine is a young widow who’s struggling to keep her husband youth center running while raising her “tween” daughter. Everyone in her small town is telling Bijou to sell the center but she is very determined to keep her husband’s dream alive. Can a stranger willing to help out at the center, be the second chance Bijou needs?
From the prologue to the epilogue you will go through some many emotions and feel everything Bijou and Noah go through. I am always a little nervous reading a new author because you don’t know what their writing style is like. But I can honestly say this Brooke’s writing flowed easily and kept me flipping the pages. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Back in The Ring is the 4th book in the Predator Series by Brooke May. Although characters re-occur, each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. I had not previously read any of the other books I this series before reading this one and I did not feel that I was missing any important information needed for this book. Having read, and really enjoyed this book, I would now like to go back and read the previous books.
Bijou Augustine is a widow who is struggling to keep the children’s centre that she opened with her late husband open. The building is in need of major repairs which the centre is unable to afford.
Enter her knight in shining armour, Noah Stone who has moved to the area with his toddler son Holder, to start afresh after the tragic death of his wife the previous year.
The chemistry between the 2 of them is sizzling from their very first meeting. They very quickly start dating and are both head over heels for each other. BUT…Noah is hiding something, he is constantly on edge and checking out his surroundings. Who, or what is he hiding from? Will his secret tear apart the wonderful new relationship he has with Bijou? Obviously I’m not going to give away the answers, you’ll need to read this amazing love story to get the answers. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Life is a big bag of crazy. One minute your living your dream and the next pieces of that dream are taken away. I dislike tragedy even though we all face it. It is never a easy pill to swallow. I give every man and woman props for pulling it together either for their kids or themselves. Bijou is determined and strong willed. She knows that her center is needed in her town but can’t seem to get the funds. When life is throwing her signs to sale a saving grace is what she finds in Noah. I absolutely love Noah. The whole story was told in Bijou’s point of view but when Noah was present I would’ve liked his thought. They had a nice chemistry and it helped that they both had kids. The author gave us something real with these characters because honestly it could be anyone’s life.
Back in the Ring is a great second chance love story. Bijou is raising her daughter and trying to keep the youth center open after losing her husband. Noah is the hot single dad that just moved to town. He is also learning to move on after losing his wife. When the two meet the connection is instant. This was just a sweet story. I have not read the other books in the series and had no problem reading it as a stand alone. However, I have very intention of reading the other books now.
Back in the ring by Brooke May is the fourth book in the Predator Series. This book can be read as a stand-alone.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to connect with the characters and want them to do well. It was easy to fall into the flow of the story and be swept along with it. Although I haven’t read the other books I never at any point felt like I was missing something or confused. The author does a great job at introducing and developing the characters.
The book was well paced and interesting and one I definitely would recommend.
I enjoyed this second chance romance. Not only are the characters looking a second chance love but also finding strength to move on and heal. This book started out emotional and throughout the story. Bijou and Noah are great characters plus they both have painful pasts and are in need of healing. She is trying to keep a dream alive and he just wants to heal. Will they heal each other? Their story is easy flowing and engaging from cover to cover. I highly recommend this book.
BACK IN THE RING is the 4th book in The Predator Series. I have not read the previous stories in the series and had no problem understanding who was who.
This was an easy read that flowed well from beginning to end. Characters are quickly developed and you know the motivation of each as they are introduced. Having never been in the situation that the h is in, I found it frustrating that she was trying to keep a business that was constantly “fundraising” yet never getting ahead. I would hope that a confidant would have advised her well before year 8 to succeed or get out.
The story is well plotted and the kids in the story play an integral role and keep the lightness of the story moving. The daughter’s “tween” attacks had me cringing, but I was able to identify so much. hahaha There are lessons in this book that aren’t obvious or preachy, but show how growing and moving forward doesn’t mean you don’t have a past.
I have note in the beginning of the book the “everyone should have a friend like Mara” but at times I found her to be over the top annoying. I suppose that’s what most quirky best friends are like, right?
