What is The Bachelor Society? It’s a gentleman’s club—like the dignified men of the past used to have. Except, we’re not gentleman, and we’re not dignified. We’re ineligible bachelors; bored, jaded and not looking for relationships. Quite the opposite actually…
Rules are involved. Prizes.
Laugh it up, but I’m no loser. Enemy number one to my single status? My irresistible neighbor, Abbott Margolis. She with her evil cat Desdemona, and Sexy AF pencil skirts. She’s kind and beautiful and hilarious. We can’t get involved, no matter how much her meddling grandmother pushes us together. But if I was going to lose this bet for anyone? It would be for Abbott. Let’s face facts: I’m a bastard, unwilling to settle down. Especially when there’s a bet to win.

Cute, funny and a different from her douchebag series this book had me laughing out loud….
Brooks and Abbott were definitely adorable, cute, funny and total opposites which was the lol moments! This book started off a little slow, but had me reeling throughout.
Love Sara Ney’s book this one is definitely a sweet read
Meet Brooks, Abbott, and Desdemona (the Cat).
After one too many drinks, and witnessing couple interactions, Brooks forms the Bastard Bachelor Society. What happens when you declare yourself to be a bachelor and place your most prized possession to ensure you win? You meet your perfect match. Enter Brooks, she is smart, down to earth, and has the best grandmother. When Brooks and Abbott meet, be prepared for lots of laughs. Desdomona the cat, offers another point of view that will you leave you laughing. Fun, witty, and swoon-worthy are included in this book. Sara continually brings the light-hearted romance in her newest book.
This was such a fun a quick read with whit, laugh out loud humor, it had its sweet and adorable moments, swoon worthy moments and a few heart aching moments. I really enjoyed the relationship between Brooks and Abbott, watching their friendship and attraction slowly grow into more and I love a good neighbour romance story.
Sara Ney has such and easy to read writing style that I enjoy thoroughly and I cant wait for more stories in this new series
Special shoutout to Nan and Desdemona for making this and even more enjoyable read, if you’ve read the book you’ll know who they are
Sara Ney is back with a new series full of snarky witty banter, and a sweet friends to lovers story that will have you doubled over with laughter! Abbott and Brooks are flirty, super sassy and unapologetically comfortable with each other from the get-go. Their relationship really sneaks up on them, it’s natural, relaxed and friendly….until friendly turns a little extra after a bottle of wine. Together, Brooks and Abbott are ridiculously fun and flirty. However Brooks has created this secret Society with his friends for which he’s proclaimed that he will be single for the foreseeable future. How will Abbott make Brooks see that they could be the perfect couple if he was just willing to try?
Sara Ney keeps tempting me with these sassy, feisty characters. They are so fun to read and they always light up the pages of my kindle. I can’t wait for more in the series.
Pure entertaining! Silly fun, crazy cat, cool Nan, super cool intern, and a couple that are too much fun. What starts out as a ‘boo” on romance turns into the BBS, a ‘not club’ club of dinkhead guys and a few stupid rules. Head bastard, Brooks, is down on romance after a breakup and wouldn’t you know it, the minute the rules are dry he meets “the one.’ From the first encounter between the quirky Abbott and the super cute Brooks is a hilarious mess. I laughed half way through the book at this fabulous ‘not a relationship’ relationship between these two. They build a unique friendship with a slow build to something more. The more being love. There’s not a lot of sex in the story but there’s a titillating build up to a couple of unconventional sexy encounters that had me melting with anticipation. The writing was terrific and the characters were spectacular. Abbott as the unassuming rich, smart gal that also is very pretty and has her own brand of sexuality is a wonderful heroine. Sassy mouth, smart brain, a crazy cat and the best grandmother. She’s has her eye on her handsome neighbor but is too shy to make a move until Brooks forces her hand. His objective was free food but soon he realizes he likes hanging with Abbott. And then there’s the fabulous Nan. Brooks vacillates between being a hunky, smart, rising professional to being a goofy frat guy. He’s terrific and comes through in a big way for Abbott at the risk of losing his “inheritance’. The BBS is made up of three guys that were…well, I have no words. They make my head hurt with their butthurt feelings and misguided ideas. So funny and I can’t wait for more from the BBS. There are some really great secondary characters in Nan, Taylor and Bambi. The cat, Desi, was part hilarious and part too in your face. I didn’t care for his/her POV and I wanted more from the epilogue. But overall it’s a winner for me with the fantastic friendship to lover relationship between two of the best characters in Abbott and Brooks and the hilarious BBS group of guys. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Brooks and Abbott are a perfect pair! The banter between them was so funny. It was fun and flirty, sweet and sexy, and the drama was minimal.
While this book was a little slow at the start for me, once things got rolling, I couldn’t put it down. And I’m looking forward to more from this group of characters.
If you like silly, swoony boys and funny, feisty females, then I think you’ll quite enjoy this book.
And we finally have yet another amazing series from Sara Ney author of well-known „The Studying Hours” who I adore very much. Now we are off for series as addicting as mentioned here. Why you ask? Because “The Bastard Bachelor Society” is full of laugh, you will enjoy reading of it from the beginning to, for me too soon, cause I was having so much fun, end. The characters are as silly as lovable. And there is a cat, Desdemona, from whom we get own point of view which I think was great thing to do, especially since I am an avid cat lady 😛 Another side character I just adored was Abott’s Grandma who has a character in her own and is an aspiring matchmaker.
Brooks formed an idea of Bachelor’s Club after past unsuccessful relationship. He formed it with his two friends from college. To spice things up they bet each other that whoever can keep from getting into serious relationship the longest will win from each member something that will be their prized possessions. And everything would be great if Brooks wouldn’t meet his beautiful neighbor, Abott, who doesn’t remind any woman that crossed his path. They both decide to form a friendship at the same time spending days and night on Netflix and take out. But what will happen when Brooks will find himself in a relationship he thought there was no chance he will be in? What will win? A bet or one true love?
If you want to find out you need to read this great story that Sara always gives us. Believe me you will thank me later.
Interesting story, that’s for sure. Entertaining and gripping. I couldn’t put this down and I had a constant smile on my face while reading. But I couldn’t connect with the characters and I had trouble feeling their chemistry and attraction. But Sara Ney’s writing style kept my eyes glued to the pages and surprised me with a story I didn’t expect at all.

Except, we’re not gentleman, and we’re not dignified.
We’re ineligible bachelors; bored, jaded and not looking for relationships. Quite the opposite actually…
We’re so committed to being single, we’ve created a high stakes bet to see who can remain single the longest. Rules are involved. Prizes.
Laugh it up, but I’m no loser.

REVIEW
The BBS is a thoroughly entertaining and charming story. Brooks and his lovely neighbor, Abbott, have a fantastic dynamic that is clear from the start. I enjoyed the witty sharp dialogue between these characters. There was never a dull moment in this story. It’s an excellent choice for romcom, chicklit or contemporary romance fans for a easy and fun read.

3.5 Stars!
I’ve been looking forward to picking up this book ever since it was announced. I finished it in one sitting and I really liked this story! I enjoyed the moments throughout that cracked me up and made me smile.
Brooks and Abbott made me feel so much while reading their story. I liked how they brought out different sides to each other and their banter. I just struggled to connect with Brooks at times while reading.
Ms.Ney has created another great read! I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next! (:

4 stars
Bastard Bachelor Society is the first book in a promising new series by funny lady Sara Ney!
Brooks, the fiercely dedicated bachelor behind the creation of the Bastard Bachelor Society is in trouble, trouble of the “he’s met his match” variety. The Bastard Bachelor exist with one rule, everyone stays single. Shouldn’t be a problem for devoted bachelor, Brooks, who has literally no interest in a relationship, in fact, he actively avoids entanglements. Unfortunately, getting tangled up with his new sexy neighbor Abbott is all he can think about.
After an awesome meet-cute, Brooks can’t get Abbott and her meddlesome but completely lovable Nan out of his head. The only place she can belong is firmly in the friend zone. But Brooks has only ever friend zoned others, he’s never been placed there himself and well, he’s not loving it.
Watching these two fall was awesome. Brooks took a while longer to get there than the rest of us but boy, once he did, he arrived in style. The are they/aren’t they couple’s banter was what put it over the top for me! Let’s definitely not forget the awesome meddling grandmother, she was such a great character! Great start to what’s sure to be a fun-filled series!

FOUR STARS for Abbott and Brook !!!
I love Sara’s books because they always make me laugh trough whole story.
The same was with this book.
There were a lot of funny moments and dialogues between characters that I couldn’t stay serious.
“Bastard Bachelor Society” is a romantic comedy book with friends to lovers trope.
Abbott and Brook’s relationship is everything and from the beginning, I could see that Brook found the girl who will keep him on the earth.
And there is Nan.
She the coolest grandma I had the chance to meet in the books.
She made me laugh the most because she has not a filter and she will always tell you what is on her mind.
If you’re looking for a romantic comedy that will make you laugh the whole time, then this is the book for you!
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series !!!
Sooo how do you feel about RomCom? Well if you love it as much as I do then you should know this is a #OneClick author for me.
I usually try to read Ms Ney stories without anyone around. Often my old man, deaf dog is sitting on my lap and he gets indignant from my bursts of laughter.
This story is a stand-alone and the first, in what I assume, is a new series.
Brooks has started a new gentlemen’s club with his two buddies *cue eye roll* The only rule, stay single. Sooo yeah we go in starting with some slightly douchey behavior.
Abbott is Brooks neighbor. I love her and how they “almost” meet in an elevator. You have to read the story to know what I am talking about. So hilarious. Wink.
I love these two together. They are “ALL OVER THE PLACE”. The friendship part of this book is delightful and adding the sexual tension, well it has all kinds of drool worthy moments.
Plan for a story with elements self doubt, some misunderstandings and a quirky, matchmaking grandma.
You can’t go wrong with this sexy, funny story. Happy Reading Everyone!

Final Thoughts:
I really wanted to love this book, but there were several things that regularly pulled me out of the story. First, the inconsistencies in the characters’ behaviors and actions had me constantly questioning their maturity. The heroine we’re told is a giant nerd, and led to believe is a top-notch executive, thinks to herself that she’s incapable of multi-tasking. She cannot handle confrontation with an employee, her grandmother, or the hero. The hero comes across as an immature 18-21 year old, not something you’d expect from a recently promoted architect that is on the fast track to a partnership. Also, his internal thoughts about his friends, and the barbs he tossed their way, came across as extremely obnoxious. I really would have loved to see some acknowledgement and character growth in that regard. Lastly, the portrayal of Taylor really, really bothered me. The first time we meet him, he’s an eager assistant asking the hero to mentor him. Within a few chapters, he’s portrayed as the stereotypical gay man-flighty and gossipy in an extremely over the top (and highly inappropriate) manner. Absolutely nothing was gained by portraying him in this way.
While there was some fun banter between this couple, it wasn’t enough for me to rate this book higher. I am not convinced that these two people belong together. I was left feeling disappointment, but I can accept that I won’t love every book an author writes. This one book is not enough to put me off reading any future books in the series. Fingers crossed I’ll love the next one more.
No one writes such lovable bastards the way Sara Ney does. Truthfully I should probably have hated Brooks, but dang it he was such a sweet @$$#*!e. I really just didn’t have a choice but to fall in love with him. Especially when you throw in how much flat out fun him and Abbott were to read. These two had the perfect mix of keeping you laughing and keep you swooning going on that really, REALLY made their story irresistible.
And then you toss in brilliant side characters *cough* Nan & Desi *cough* and BAM! Unputdownable read. This book is hilarious, filled with heart, and one of my absolute favorites from Sara Ney.
Bastard Bachelor Society is another hit for Sara Ney! She has the perfect way of making you hate the main character, then fall madly in love with him by the end of the book. (So if I fall for some cad in real life, I’m totally blaming the author, lol.) This is definitely one you don’t want to miss, and a one-click recommendation from me. If you’re looking for a great romantic comedy, this needs to be your next read!
Brooks is a bit bitter when he and his two equally idiot friends decide to form the Bastard Bachelor Society, with 7 rules: 1) No member of the society shall date the same person exclusively while an active member of the society. 2) No seeing the same woman more than three nights a week. Mix it up. 3) No giving gifts. 4) No marriage or babies. 5) We don’t speak of the BBS. 6) Never let a girl wear your BBS smoking jacket. 7) If you want out of the BBS, it has to go to a vote. Same goes for adding new members. If any of them breaks one of these rules, they forfeit their wager.
Needless to say, the three are just begging to be brought to their knees by an awesome woman. And Brooks’ awesome woman is Abbott Margolis of THOSE Margolises. But she’s funny (so freaking funny) and sweet and incredibly sassy, and it’s inevitable that she and neighbor Brooks end up as friends, then more, because they’re perfect for each other. I loved their snark and banter, and how scared he was of her little, tiny (devil) cat, Desdemona. And I love her Nan and her best friend, but mostly I just loved Abbott and Margolis together, both as friends and as more. I’ve gotta say that I hope all the proceeding stories in this series are as good as this one, because it’s awesome! A funny, witty and snarky, and sweet friends to lovers tale.
I stumbled across Sara Nay when I read the first How to Date a Douchebag novel and she became an automatic one click author for me. So when I saw this one I didn’t even glance at the blurb, I just assumed it was going to be more college romance (which I love and Sara does to perfection). However this was not new adult. But I freaking loved it so hard. And I had so many laugh out loud moments the family are giving me side eye.
Abbott and Brooks were such a great couple. I adored the way they became friends so easily. From their second meeting they just had such great banter and weird chemistry. I spent the whole book wondering if this was the moment they were going to get naked.
Brooks was a bit of a douche but he owned it and he was well aware that Abbott deserved so much more. And she did. Abbott is one of my favourite female characters in recent history. She was a little bit nuts and her inner monologue was hilarious.
Omg I laughed so hard at Brooks and Desdemona’s meeting, I think I might have pulled a muscle. And her getting her own chapter, I almost got eye strain checking it was her. Brilliant. Between her and Nan adding so much to the story I haven’t been able to put my kindle down.
I would have loved a longer epilogue, you know just 2 or 300 more pages. There were a few small things that felt a little unresolved and the ending felt a bit rushed but then again that might just be me always wanting more. I really can’t wait to see where the rest of the series is going.
This was good, but not what I was expecting. I’m giving this 3.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
I thought this was going to be another new adult book, so I was surprised that it wasn’t. That being said, I liked Abbott’s character a lot. She was sweet, sarcastic, funny, etc., and I felt like we were a lot alike. The added bonus of her nan, who was a riot, really sold her character for me. The parts with the cat were pretty entertaining as well, especially when it met Brooks for the first time. I would have liked to see more of her being a boss lady at her job though.
As for Brooks, I’m torn about him. I liked him when he was hanging out with Abbott, but on the occasions he spent time with his friends, I didn’t like him. He was a completely different person as if a switch was flipped. I would have liked to see more of his job as well; after he got his promotion, he pretty much didn’t work besides bringing home blueprints…that he didn’t do anything with, because he was spending time with his neighbor.
I enjoyed that this was friends to lovers; this genre has been pushed to the side lately for enemies to lovers, which has been way overdone. There were a couple things that made me not able to rate this higher: the missing depth in their lives (probably 90% of the book was set in their apartments, we didn’t get to meet their families besides Nan, we barely saw their friends, etc.) plus while I believed they had a fantastic friendship, the romantic part (at least the expressing of feelings) felt like it came out of nowhere. I enjoyed this overall, but it wasn’t my favorite book from this author.
This a new series from Sara Ney which was a fun read. I will be interested to see how this series plays out. At the moment I don’t love it like her other series but I have a feeling its one I can really get into as it develops more as shes one of my favourite authors.
Brooks sets up the Bastard Bachelor Society with his friends Philip and Blaine. In true idiot form they set a bunch of rules out where the main one is that they have to remain single. They can’t lose as there is a lot at stake and he thinks he has it in the bag as he has just come out of a long term relationship.
It took me a while to warm up to Brooks, not sure why but I did like the interactions with his hot neighbour Abbott. The connection is there and you can feel the chemistry between them even whilst they are friends. I was quite entertained with the banter. Abbot’s nan stole the show for me, I loved her!
