Warlord Wulf thought nothing could be worse than being tortured and contaminated by the Hive. That was before he’s ordered to transport to Earth and represent The Colony in an unfamiliar horror… a human reality show. The Bachelor Beast is the hottest new program on Earth, but being set up with two dozen clingy females is not his idea of a good time. When his Beast refuses to show the slightest … interest in any of the show’s potential mates, he knows he must choose one or die due to his raging mating fever.
His Beast prefers execution to claiming anyone but his true mate. Wulf is resigned to his fate, a one-way trip to Atlan, a prison cell and execution. It is the only honorable thing left to do.
Until one glance, one sweet, feminine scent lingering in the air and his beast rages for a female who is not supposed to be his.
But try telling that to his Beast when his entire body transforms on live television and one simple word thunders from his lips…MINE.

This novella wasn’t bad for brain candy. Great big and brawny hero. A BBW who isn’t completely too stupid to live. I even liked her! An instalove that wasn’t intolerable. Cute kids/wards that weren’t overing the saccharin. AND GRACE GOODWIN KNOWS HOW TO SPELL “ALL RIGHT”!!!!!!!!!
That alone gets her four stars.
She also creates a character that personifies why I HATE lovey-dovey romance reality TV (except for Temptation Island because most of the couples break up for REAL legitimate reasons sooner than later). I only wish I could have seen Wulf crush his smarmy smile along with his microphone.
I guess I’ll read the rest of the books in this HUGE universe though I am looking for the very first book that starts out this universe, but I have yet to find it. I’m cursed as a completist. I do appreciate the fact that Grace Goodwin didn’t resort to overused plot templates. That helps. I only wish it was longer.
Bachelor Beast was fun to read. You know that if we find life on other planets, someone will make a dating reality show. It has to happen. And it won’t go as planned. But if the hero is a guy like Wulf, the heroine will be a truly lucky individual. Read their story. You won’t regret a second of time you spend with them.
Excellent story. Very exciting from the start to the finish. I liked the way Wulf found Olivia and went wild. I wounder if all the beast comes out to claim their mate when they see them for the first time. Or maybe Wulf had gone so long with out finding her that the beast came out. This world has what? 4 or 5 times more women than men. I don’t remember what it is. Anyway if I was younger I would be all over that to be a Bride and go to a new world with my new mate. It would be awesome. Loved the story, now I need to find more of them. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I was so excited to find another “alien brides game show” book–and by the incomparable Grace Goodwin, no less! If you like my Alien Bride Lottery Series, you’ll LOVE this book. Alien warlord Wulf agreed to be on a Bachelor-style game show on Earth, but is disappointed to discover none of the women are his fated mate. But then he scents The One, a makeup artist on the show, and his beast takes over. Lots of fun alien shenanigans follow in this steamy hot romance.
Note: Wulf shows up earlier in Goodwin’s books, but this works as a standalone romance.
Pick this one up! You won’t regret it!
Warlord Wulf is on Bachelor Beast tv show a human tv program . He is the first of many to come. Wulf is an Atlan that has been altered by The Hive. Wulf was a prisoner and survived many horrors. He agreed to be on Interstellar Brides program. But after almost 30 days his beast isn’t happy and neither is he. His beast is trying to find it’s mate to make them whole. Olivia is a make up artist. She also has to raise her nephew and niece. Olivia’s brother died and now Olivia is stuck with cleaning up her brother’s mess. Olivia loves watching the Bachelor Beast. When Wulf takes Olivia off stage she isn’t sure what to expect. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book from Steamy Calendar Girls.
great read
Bachelor Beast is another book in Ms. Goodwin’s Interstellar Brides series and features Warlord Wulf. As always if you love your SFR on the wild side and have an open mind, these are some very sexy books with just enough conflict to make them interesting. Wulf agrees to be a part of a new reality series on Earth in order to highlight The Colony and have more volunteers for the Interstellar Brides program. If you’ve read the colony books you’ll remember this character from previous stories. This is one of Ms. Goodwin’s more humorous offerings, and I did enjoy seeing poor Wulf put in a difficult situation. Enjoy!
I love Grace and her Interstellar Bride Program stories. We are finally getting Warlord Wulf’s story and what a story it is. Grace takes the gloves off with this romance and brings her heart and soul to Warlord Wulf and Olivia’s love story. It is who these characters are. The beasts come out when they meet their mates and no one is going to stop them. Which is what you want when you meet your loved one.
I can’t wait to see what is next.
I need me a Wulf!!! Absolutely loved this story. The story moved quickly and the characters were engaging! The emotions just drag you in!! Another great book added to a great series! Would highly recommend
Loved Wulf’s story. Wulf agreed to a reality TV show on earth, representing The Colony and his brothers on the Colony. Unfortunately, none of the women on the show interest his beast. Then, out of the blue, his beast recognizes one of the make up girls, Olivia, who was standing in the shadows as his mate. Olivia is the guardian of her deceased brother’s children and is being blackmailed by her deceased brother’s dealer. Wulf and Olivia work through some issues and get their happily ever after on The Colony.
Grace Goodwin is an amazing writer and in a class of her own! This story is beautiful, passionate and filled with suspense and surprises from the beginning to the end! I know I will be reading this story again. Her characters are well written, the plots are carefully thought out and gripping. “Bachelor Beast” is the first book in the The Beast series which is part of the series: Interstellar Brides Program.
The book takes a totally different direction from the onset and it took me a moment to catch up. LOL Warlord Wulf, an Atlan is on earth, representing the Colony, as he participates in an Intergalactic version of The Bachelor. He is looking for his bride not the other way around. Wulf is close to having his beast take over, if he can’t find his mate, he will need to be put down. His friends, who are concerned, decide to send him to this program on earth to accomplish two things: 1- find a bride to save him and 2- hopefully, the Humans will see the Aliens as friendly and more women will apply to the Interstellar Bride program. Ummm, poor Wulf, he has trouble keeping his Beast quiet, and his Beast isn’t interested in any of the woman. Olivia is a part-time worker on the show and Wulf doesn’t see her until his last day. Her life is hard, she has custody of her deceased brother’s 2 children and acquired his drug debts. When she sees Wulf, she is intrigued and attracted to him but has no hope that he would ever see her or even want her. How can being on the reality show work for an Atlan? Reading how Warlord Wulf reacts to earth is sad, emotional and heartbreaking. But, Grace Goodwin works her magic and things work out!
When, Wulf scents Olivia – that’s it! His Beast knows what he wants, who his mate is but now Wulf only has two days to convince her. Can he do it? Will Olivia accept him and leave Earth?
Wolf and Olivia are wonderful characters and I worry and care about them, through the entire story. Will a relationship work out for them? I can’t wait for the next story!! Thank you Grace Goodwin!
Love this author
I really enjoyed this book. I laughed a lot, which was greatly needed (& thoroughly appreciated) in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. I look forward to future titles in this series.
Great book
What does a bachelor alien do when he needs a bride? He stars in a Reality TV Show. Warlord Wolf is almost at the end of his rope. Soon he won’t be able to control his beast. But he’s down to the final 2 contestants and it’s time to make a choice. The only problem is that his beast wants neither. He’s getting ready to let them down when he catches Olivia’s scent. She is a makeup artist working on the show and she’s his ONE!
The TV show doesn’t have what they want, Olivia doesn’t believe and is mixed up in some unpleasant stuff and Wulf’s English leaves something to be desired but you’ll have to read the book to find out what happens to them on the way to HEA.
Loved the book. It was fun. Loosely related to other Interstellar Brides books but it does stand alone — it’s Wulf and Olivia from start to finish. They were a great couple and perfect for each other. I hope to see the other contestants in the next books (I actually liked the women that were trying to gain Wulf’s attention) but Wulf’s work isn’t done.
Book one in the Interstellar Brides® Program: The Beasts series a well written story that had me smiling as I read. Makeup artist Olivia Mercier is backstage as Warlord Wulf is to choose between two women Genevieve or Willow as his Mate, when he goes to her. He kidnaps her from the stage. I loved seeing their story come together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don’t think I’ve ever used the word “adorable” in reference to Goodwin’s Interstellar Brides Program series, but Bachelor Beast deserves it. It’s got a premise that I’m amazed I haven’t seen before in romance: a “Bachelor” type of TV show—but with an alien as the bachelor! Wulf is doing this to promote interest and enrollment in the Interstellar Brides service for the many aliens who were captured by the Hive and altered by their technology. But his mate isn’t one of the women selected for him by the show—it’s a gig makeup artist who happens to be on set that day. And when Wulf scents and sees her, it’s game over—and his beast comes out on national television.
Goodwin is clearly having a blast playing with the stereotypes of this sort of “reality” TV—I particularly enjoyed the smarmy host. And Wulf and Olivia are—oh, heck, I have to say it again—adorable together. This is something that I haven’t seen a lot in Goodwin’s books—there are usually intense, dominant alpha types and perilous danger. I really enjoyed the contrast that Bachelor Beast offered. Even though Wulf is alpha and the love scenes are the typical Goodwin off-the-charts hot, there’s a gentleness to his relationship with Olivia. I hope that the tone it sets is seen more in this spinoff series (Interstellar Brides Program: The Beasts).
There are a couple of underwritten elements here—the bad guy isn’t fleshed out at all until near the end of the book, and then frankly his character didn’t make a lot of sense to me considering his social standing in life. But these are offset by Olivia’s great friend and adorable—there’s that word again!—niece and nephew.
So if you’re looking for a great change of pace from Goodwin, check out Bachelor Beast. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more—yup, gotta say it—adorable hero and heroine.
Even after 40+ books in this series, the stories are still unique, sexy, romantic and full of drama and adventure. Grace Goodwin does a fantastic job of making the characters seem so realistic that you can’t help but immerse yourself into the story and cheer for their happily ever after.
The world building is vivid, the danger is stark and sometimes unsettling, and the whole story is so engaging you can’t put the book down until the end (and then you just can’t wait for the next book!).
A departure from the other Interstellar Brides books, this story is set almost entirely on Earth. An alien Warlord is thrust into the spotlight on a reality television show and finds his mate – a makeup artist working behind the scenes! Of course, chaos, danger, laughter, and hot sexiness follow the couple on their journey of falling in love.
I just can’t say enough great things about Grace Goodwin and her wonderful Interstellar Brides series of books. All of the stories, except for the Ascension Series, are stand-alone books, but the experience is so much better if you have read all of the previous books.
Downloaded for free from BookFunnel. I have volunteered to give my honest opinion and receive no compensation for my review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over-exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Bachelor Beast is the first book in The Beasts series, all part of Ms. Goodwin’s Intergalactic Brides Program world. Warlord Wulf has been sent from the Colony to Earth to participate in a matchmaking show. Unfortunately, his beast isn’t responding to any of the contestants. When he sets his sights on Olivia, he can’t help but need to claim her, but will he be able to convince her to wear his cuffs?
Oh my, what a fun and new take on the Intergalactic Brides, and talk about some cultures clashing! Olivia and Wulf captivated not just their audience from their show, but also myself and I loved reading this book! I have to admit, at first I was a little worried that us Earthlings were almost making fun of the seriousness and specialness of the Atlan mating rituals, but the more I read, the more I loved how Ms. Goodwin spun the story, the plot, and the romance. Olivia is one that doesn’t see much of her self worth, but fights hard for those she loves and is a protector at heart. Wulf was sacrificing so much for those on the Colony, but I loved his dedication to Olivia, too. It was fun to see how he needed to conform to human standards, to the show, and all he wanted to do was claim Olivia. I liked that they both had a bit of their past come into the plot of this book and I liked the danger and how everything was resolved. This seems like a really exciting and fun new twist to the Atlans we all love!
Wulf has had no luck finding his mate. He was even matched with a human woman once but she turned him down to go back to Earth to marry her old boyfriend. Now he has been talked into going to Earth to represent the colony to encourage more women to choose the Colony on their Intergalactic bride contracts. He doesn’t realize that the colony leaders have signed him up to find a mate on a reality dating show on Earth. The book starts on the day of filming of the last show. Wulf is expected to choose one of the last two finalists to be his mate but his beast feels no connection to either. Even though he knows he is deep enough in mating fever, he will have to be killed to keep him from going mad and hurting anyone.
Olivia is a make-up artist for the woman contestants for the reality show Wulf is on. She is fascinated by Wulf and would love to be mated to a beast of her own. When she tried to sign up for the Intergalactic Brides program, she was turned down because she is guardian for her young niece and nephew and it is against the rules to send out mothers with young kids. Olivia comes from a family that is involved in drugs and crimes but she tries to stay away from that scene. He brother however owed a dealer a lot of money and Olivia is being forced to work off her brother’s debt or they will hurt her kids.
On the night of the finale, Olivia is watching from backstage when Wulf is asked to make his final decision. Wulf notices Olivia and his Beast instantly realizes that she is his mate. Choas ensues as he goes to claim Olivia. Olivia is overwhelmed by the need she sees in Wulf but she doesn’t quite trust that she can be his mate. Can Wulf convince her they are meant to be or will reality tv tear them apart?
