In small Texas towns, strangers come and go… Left in a Stetson hat on the steps of the local bed and breakfast, Avery Callimer came into the world on a wing and a prayer. Raised by loving adoptive parents, she’s never lacked for love … only the knowledge of her past. By day she works at the inn, but by night … Avery comes alive as the lead singer in a band. Life was good … stable, until … until new guests blew into town. Some strangers come with secrets and lies. Lucas Bennett is one such stranger. Drifting from one mess to another has left him jaded. Doesn’t matter the dramas are never his doing. Giving it one last shot to make a fresh start lands him Harmony’s Echo, Texas and smack dab in front of the tantalizing Avery. Every time they’re near each other, things heat up like a brushfire on a dry Texas prairie. He’s intent to keep his distance, but finds it difficult to ignore the burn Avery’s ignited within. Secrets have followed him. Secrets he doesn’t want Avery to know. Maybe, after the dust settles and the smoke clears, love can bloom with a fresh start.

Lucas was sent to Harmony’s Echo on a mission to keep his eye on Avery. He really didn’t know why, but the first time he heard her sing she had a big effect on him. Lucas found out that Avery had been left on the steps of a local bed-n-breakfast in a stetson hat. Things grew front this to make a great story about Avery and her singing career and her band.
Nikki Lynn Barrett did a great job writing this story and keeping it interesting, exciting, sounding like an every day story, and the reader wanting to turn the pages. You willl look forward to what is going to happen next and wandering who is pushing Lucas to learn things about Avery.
Too much vivid sex!
Surprise ending – things kept happening and held me glued to the story
Characters were interesting. The basic story was a little contrived and too easily resolved, but I did enjoy it.
Overwrought.
A REAL INTEREST GRABBER!
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Abandoned as a child, Avery Callimer, wants to know her real birth parents. Lucas is in town to watch Avery but is drawn to her. The author takes you through the story in both characters’ points of view. Avery is stubborn and Lucas is unfeeling until they meet each other. Their paths are wrought with questions, lies and danger. Add in a couple of tornados and their aftermath and you have a page turning story that you don’t want to put down.
First this is a fairly emotional story with quite a bit of angst and drama the only thing is I found it bogged down a few times not enough to stop me reading but it di take away from the flow
Avery was found on the door of an Inn in Harmony’s Echo in a stetson That has led to her been known as baby stetson She has never missed out on love in her life because the couple who owned the inn adopted her and brought her up as their own In fact she still works for them at the inn through the day and at night she is the lead singer in a local band. Then she meets Lucas Bennett a guest at the inn and he has a profound affect on her but what she doesn’t know is that he is town at the behest of her birth mother. What will happen when she finds this out will it break her heart will she meet with her mother and can she have a future with Lucas You will have o read to see
Delightful love story/mystery
Avery is such a wonderful character that you can’t help but root for her to find the love of a good man. She had been adopted by two loving parents, but longed to find out about her true parentage. She has flourished in her music and one night meets Jameson. He is not really who he seems to be, he is much more. The story drew me in from the very beginning holding my attention to the very end (sometimes anxiously). I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters seem to always come alive no matter in every story Nikki is writing!
I started reading this book and had a hard time putting it down. This book talks about adoption, trust, faith and love. I truly felt for Avery, her adopted parents and her biological mother. When Lucas told Avery some of the truth I was ticked off at him and didn’t trust him until he did what he did so Avery could meet her biological mother. The guy who said he was Avery’s biological father got what he deserved when he died in the tornado. I was very happy that things ended the way they did. Want to know how things ended?? Well then you really need to read this book. I truly loved this book.
Avery was left on the doorsteps of an Inn when she was a baby. The couple running the Inn adopted her and raised her as their own. She always wondered about her birth parents though. She works the Inn during the day and is in a band singing in the evenings. After singing one night she meets Lucas and they hit it off. However Lucas has a secret that he is keeping from her. Her birth mother sent him to check up on her. What will Avery say when she learns Lucas’s secret? Will they stay together? Will she want to meet her birth mother?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
This was my first read from this author and it was good. I did find her Avery was a little too sweet for me. Very sugary. But all in all a good read.
A sweetly thrilling, sexy, fun and enchanting romantic adventure filled with interesting charters, heart racing twists and exciting passion….. was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this highly entertaining journey!
This was an amazing whirlwind of a story. It was incredible. Adventure and romance and family and mystery. My heart was pounding! I cannot wait to read more!

This is not your usual love story involving a singer, music is only a small part of this great book. Avery is a loving, sweet and doesn’t know how to actually do something for her, she thinks she has obligations to those around her without actually asking anyone what they want. There is plenty of mystery, attraction, suspense and twists that keep you tuning the page and needing to know the secrets Lucas has and if they really will stand in the way of how he an Avery feel about each other, who Avery’s parents really are and will Avery ever make a decision that is solely based on what she wants! Now gimmie the next book!!!
Lucas and Avery sets the tone of this story. Avery was adopted and the way she was found as a baby at a bed and breakfast is intriguing as well. She runs an Inn by day and sings with a band at night. Lucas is a mystery but when he and Avery meet it is magical. There is a lot of interesting plot twist that keep you tied up in this book. It is well written and the story setting is descriptive such that you can almost fell and see the plots in your mind.

Hands down Jameson was one of my favorites in this book. I liked how the author kept things with him and Avery, no matter what they faced their friendship was first and foremost. The twist the author through in I saw something coming but that caught me out of left field. I liked Lucas and I liked how he had his own Demons he was facing. What I loved about this book was that the author didn’t make one single character “perfect”, yet they all seemed perfect for each other and the trials they faced together. This book does have some sex and cursing so may not be suitable for all. Hands down this author did not disappoint in this book at all. I can’t wait to read Jameson’s story next
I loved reading this wonderful book. Filled with a little mystery to it.
.This story was very well written. Nikki Lynn did a wonderful job. I strongly recommend this book. I love the fact that it has mystery, suspense, and romance. Looking forward to book 2.
