Getting out of the rain is Emily’s only goal this early LA winter morning. She didn’t plan to walk up the steps of one of the most prestigious high-rises in Downtown. She didn’t plan to make a wish on the star that was shining so brightly atop the Christmas tree in the front lobby. She never planned to fall asleep right next to the front door and she certainly never meant to get caught by the … sexy, brooding billionaire that owns it. Will the jaded CEO make the one wish she has for Christmas come true?
Skipping Christmas is Heath’s only goal this winter. If it wasn’t for the whispered complaints and depressing glares from his employees, he would have banned the holiday altogether. Christmas is for fools and Heath is no fool. He’s a self-made billionaire who doesn’t have time to deck the halls. What he wouldn’t give to make Christmas disappear. That is, until he meets her: a sleeping girl with a pair of hauntingly familiar eyes that invades more than his personal space.
Can a Scrooge lose himself and find the missing piece to a soul he thought didn’t exist?
Baby, it’s Cold Outside is a feel-good, faith restoring read that will have you laughing while reaching for your box of tissues.

Heath and Emily are two depressed souls that have endured so much lost. He lost his mother and she not only lost her parents but the one foster set of parents that meant the world as well. Homeless and on the streets, Emily is drawn to a building with a Christmas tree that reminded her of the past. She goes on to meet Heath and it sets in place a series of events that will change their lives forever. This is an emotional story that will touch your heart and captivate you until the very last page.

This was a beautifully written, romantic, and sweet Christmas romance. Loved it. It’s touching, heartwarming, and even better than those Hallmark romance Christmas movies that come out every year. I highly recommend reading it.

I read this story in about a 24-hour period… I could barely put it down!
Emily and Heath were such an unlikely couple at the start, though of course I knew (or at least HOPED), that they would end up together. The speed at which their relationship developed was so swift, but fit the storyline so perfectly! Their subsequent admissions of love were also so quick, but so heartfelt and believable! The role the Christmas tree star played was so pivotal and made for a magical ending.
I really do hope Lanie continues on ‘something’ with these characters… I LOVE them! I’ll certainly be recommending this story to all of my friends. A beautiful story full of compassion, love and so many other emotions. Thanks Lanie x
A real feel good story just in time for the holidays. A tear jerker, but with a happy ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” I thoroughly enjoy all of Lanie’s works.

Intriguing sweet short holiday romance story, it is heartwarming. Amazing chemistry with the characters. It has been a pleasure to read and review it.
Emily has had a rough life. When she thinks she’s found her place she is removed from her foster family. Then one day she sees this gorgeous tree in an office building that draws her in. When Heath sees Emily standing in his building he is drawn to her but doesn’t understand why. Emily ends up back outside looking at the tree when she sees Heath again this time he asks her to lunch. She ends up back at his place getting cleaned up before eating and still not sure what’s going on. Heath can’t stop thinking about Emily so when he sees her again he takes a chance to get to know her better. When he learns about the foster family she’s looking for he can’t help but to want to aid her search. Will Emily get a family for Christmas? Can Heath show Emily that he is the man for her?

I think it’s a perfect read for a holiday romance. It shows what Christmas spirit is really all about and you can’t help to fall in love with the main characters. Couldn’t help shedding a tear here and there.

Nothing like a wonderful holiday full of surprises…
I enjoyed reading this book. Was a wonderful read throughout. Perfect holiday book to read and enjoy while snuggled up with a hot drink and slowly sucking on the candy cane shaped spoon. The characters pull you in and make you want to read more. I want to know more of what’s going to happen as I continued to read this. Keep it coming…

Such a beautifully written Christmas story with more than one Christmas miracle. This will forever be my favorite Christmas Novella. Lanie writes from the heart, she adds all the little nuances that make for a truly captivating storyline. From the first chapter to the very end – i laughed and I cried. 5 stars and a definite must read for the Holidays!
