Baby I’m Yours: A Small Town Accidental Pregnancy Romance (Angel Sands Book 5)
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the novel Baby I’m Yours: A Small Town Accidental Pregnancy Romance (Angel Sands Book 5): Harper and James by Carrie Elks and this review was given freely.
An attraction at first sight romance with an unplanned pregnancy, two emotionally scarred characters, and their wonderful supportive group of friends. The sudden loss of her dream job leads Harper back to Angel Sands, her friend Caitie, and a alcohol involved encounter with a stranger who just happens to be a friend of Caitie’s family, the grieving widower and orthopedic spine surgeon James Tanner
Loved the book the story was great it was well written and the characters are interesting. Dr James Tanner a widow when his wife passed, so never had he thought he would find he began to have feelings for someone else. Harper had this attraction for the Dr that they both thought it would be nice just for one night or was it.

This is really good series. I do feel I’m the living in the Angel Sands.
I loved both Harper and James, they had a really good chemistry.
The story was well written and characters have a sizzling connection.
You can read as a stand alone but the books are interconnected with others.
It’s very enjoyable read and I will not mind meeting more

Baby I’m Yours is the fifth book in the Angel Sands series. I haven’t read the previous books and felt this book was fine as a stand-alone. This was a heartwarming story and very emotional. A one-night stand between a widower and a stranger that has consequences. I loved the characters and could connect with them. I likes seeing some of the previous characters and I can’t wait to read the other books in the series to read their stories.
An enjoyable, engaging, and emotionally deep book five in the Angel Sands series. It is a well written page-turner with an interesting story line and a well-developed plot. The characters are likeable and complex but good for each other. This book will grab a hold of your heart from the first page and never let go. A must read!

I loved both Harper and James. They had a really good chemistry and the story was well written. You can read as a stand alone but the series is really good and you feel the connection. I am hoping for another book in the series.
Hero Not All I Wanted Him to Be, But Good Story
I have read one of the other books in this series; I’m not quite sure how I missed the others! But no mind! I really like the community that the author has developed in these books. Even just having read two books now, I know some other characters besides the primary ones and enjoy getting updates on their lives. I appreciated that this is actually a novel-length book and not a novella. That gave time for the author to weave a more complex tale than we normally see in contemporary romance. Both main characters have complicated backstories, especially the hero. The book is written in dual perspective, and his grief over his wife’s death was palpable, both beautiful and sad, yet completely understandable. The heroine is at a crossroads of her life, having just lost her job as a costume designer for a film company that went belly-up. A one-night stand at a fancy town shindig ends up with far-reaching consequences. I will admit that I didn’t always like the hero’s reaction to this. This is a “me thing,” but I want my romantic heroes to always be constant even if they’re conflicted. (Probably because I am such a Pride and Prejudice fan; that’s my take on Darcy.) The hero in this book wasn’t 100% that way. I did like his final take away, though, that we have a capacity to love far greater than what we know. I am one who believes that, too, and also think that when we truly love and care about another, we become the best versions of ourselves. I absolutely adored the support of a community and the complex web of friendships in this small town. In the end, I found it to be a beautifully written book that brought all the feels as well as all that you want from a small-town romance.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
So good, this whole series has been one good read after another. Harper found herself pregnant after one night with a man she didn’t know. She was willing to go it alone but found James again when taking a friend to the hospital. This is their story and it’s very enjoyable!
A one stand stand between strangers yields so much more that they anticipated. Harper not knowing the baby’s daddy’s name will make it hard for her to find him. James left not knowing that he left a lifetime gift behind. The characters are well developed and engaging and have so much chemistry. The storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

Another great book is the Angel Sands series. Two broken people coming together in an unexpected way. I loved this latest book and the characters in it. There’s just something about this small town that keeps me coming back for more. You can’t help but love all the characters.
I am so in love with this series that I would like to move to Angel Sands and get to know the characters in real life. This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster – from laughing out loud to crying (both happy and sad tears) and everything in between.
This was such a well-written story and I loved how James and Harper’s feelings and backgrounds were revealed throughout the story. We get to see how their past shaped their reactions. And there is a definite sense of family among all of the friends.
Angel Sands, grief and woes.
Harper just lost her new job but she’s putting off her woes to party at the opening of a resort at Angel Sands.
James is a doctor still mired in grief for the past three years. He lost his wife and son. He breaks out of his emptiness to attend the same party.
It’s there that they meet and share an immediate connection that ends up in bed with fake names Grace and Frank.
It was just supposed to be a one night stand.
Frank Sinatra has a lot to answer for because Harper is now pregnant (only one protection but they went two rounds, he’s a doctor and should know better).
But she doesn’t know his real name and James has his own very major issues (the loss of his wife and son) to deal with.
Recommend.

Harper moves to LA for a job, then gets laid off soon after. She heads to Angel Sands for a party with friends, and meets James. He has a very sad story, and it’s been a rough three years for him. When he meets Harper, it’s the first time since Sara’s death that he’s felt like being with someone. They share a wonderful night of passion without exchanging real names, and he disappears before the sun rises. When she finds out she’s pregnant she moves to Angel Sands for support from her friends. I love how Harper and James behave like adults about her pregnancy, working out a plan for co-parenting. But these are real people with real issues. Despite growing up with money, she comes from a mostly loveless background, causing some insecurities. He had a pretty perfect life, great friends, terrific family, great job – until his wife and young son were killed, leading him to believe that he would never have it all again. And he doesn’t think he deserves it, either. These two are just smokin’ hot together, just sizzling right off the pages. They know they’re great together in bed, but have some problems getting it right outside the bedroom. I laughed and cried with them – both sad and happy tears.

Favorite Quotes:
It was as though reality had run into the room and slapped him hard in the face.
Is that a pager? … I didn’t know anybody still used those; I thought they disappeared with rotary phones and conscription.
“I’m never going to have this baby,” Ember told her, gritting her teeth. “I’ll be the only pregnant woman carrying around a teenager in her stomach. They’ll put me on TV shows as a medical miracle.” “I should record this,” Ally said, unable to bite down a grin. “Then next time you think about getting pregnant I’ll bring it out and show you. It’ll be better than any contraceptive.”
You of all people should know it’s not where you’ve come from that matters, but where you’re going.
“And for the record, fairytales suck. You ever read a real one? Not the Disney version, but as they were originally written? In Cinderella, the ugly stepsisters chop off their feet and have their eyes pecked out. The Little Mermaid gets left by the prince and pines for him forever in the ocean.” Ember grimaced. “Seriously, don’t ever aim for the fairytale.”
My Review:
Pregnancy is one of my least favorite tropes, but I didn’t seem to mind this one as the engaging storylines were cleverly amusing, well-paced, insightfully written, and plumbed all the feels. While I haven’t read them all, I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I’ve ever picked up from this perceptive wordsmith. So, of course, being the greedy book hoarder that I am, I now covet them all.

James is a man that is still mourning the death of his wife and child. He really wasn’t looking for love or a relationship right away but Harper caught his attention and that was all that it took. One nigh of passion will change Harper and James’s life forever. Harper is know getting the family that she always wanted and James is getting a second chance at love and having a family. But will James’s previous heartbreak be enough to stop them from forming a relationship or will get second chance that he deserves. Their path to getting there happily ever after isn’t easy but who ever said that love and relationships would be easy.
