Runner-up, 2016 Shelf Unbound Best Indie Book CompetitionHonorable Mention, Genre Fiction, 21st Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book AwardsA compelling, fast-moving contemporary thriller: In Albany, New York, the governor’s infant daughter disappears without a trace from her crib at the Executive Mansion. Hours later, newly divorced and down-and-out writer Jamie Carter is abducted from the … abducted from the streets of Manhattan. Jamie is whisked upstate, where she is forced by her captor, Don Bailino, an ex-war hero/successful businessman, to care for the kidnapped child in a plot to delay the execution of mobster Gino Cataldi – the sixth man to be put to death in six years by hardliner Governor Phillip Grand. What prevails is a modern-day thriller about family ties, loyalty, murder, betrayal, and love that’s told in deftly interweaving narratives that follow the police investigation of the missing Baby Grand, the bad guys who took her, and the woman who must find the strength to protect her.

I did not give this book 5 stars because the first five to seven chapters tell about different characters in the book. I almost didn’t stick with it; however, I am glad I did! After all the intros, the book began to be a page turner. I couldn’t put it down.
You think, “He’s a jerk” “Why is he doing this? He seems like a good person.” Why did she get married or let her husband do so and so. I would love to read the next book.
I’m only half way through this book but I am really liking it a lot and looking forward to books 2 and 3 in the trilogy. Characters are so well drawn you can almost see them.
I liked this series and the characters.
Loved, Loved, Loved this book series. I read all 3 books and recommend everyone to read this series!!!
Hard to put down! So much action.
There are 3 books in this series and they are all good. I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and the conflicts they faced.
Bad language
An enjoyable read. Contemporary storyline, with a great ending.
I really got caught up in the story, and as soon as I finished the book, I purchased and read the next 2 books in the trilogy: Baby Bailino, and Baby Carter. I highly recommend these books!
What did I think of this work? I liked that it grabs ones attention quickly. What I didn’t like was the far-fetched scenario of a woman, or any woman for that matter saying “I love you” to her rapist. And that ending …say what??? I won’t spoil it for anyone but it let me down.
I really enjoyed this book. Suspenseful doesn’t quite capture the can’t put it down feeling I had. Well written and a shocking conclusion to the mystery. A surprise for the heroine also!
Enjoyed it enough that I ordered the sequel.
Excellent story
This book had me on the edge of my seat! Very well written, thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.
Can’t wait to read the next book in the series
I enjoyed the read. Very entertaining.
loved it! i could not put it down.
Really liked. On second book in series now!
I love how the story unfolds and kept me guessing. I love that the situations were so real and not not wrapped in a pretty bow at the end. I will be reading Baby Balino.
Loved all the twists and turns. Not a predictable kidnapping story!
