“Baby For the Mountain Man” (Mountain Men of Liberty Book 1) by K.C. Crowne is a good read. I enjoyed Kellen and Leah’s story. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I look forward to reading more. This story is full of interesting characters, emotion, passion, romance, close friends, twists, small-town life, and more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in Liberty. Recommend to fans of romance, small-town life, and series.
What you do for a friend
Kellan couldn’t lived in the town where his best friend died but he would be there for his pregnant widow. He moved to Liberty, Utah and made a great friend and business partner in Grant. But when he was on the phone with Alice when she was in labor he got in the first plane to help. Not he was a guardian to her little girl. Mom got to hold her once before she passed. Now Kellan is back and needs to get himself together. Thank goodness for Leah and everyone else.
Its not a huge book, but boy howdy did it have a lot of drama! And fires. But if you like quirky small town life and hunks with babies, this is a perfect read for you!
I started reading and couln’t stop. This is the first time I have read this author and I am hooked. I love stories about big strong gorgeous men and kids. This book starts out with such sadness, but it is to set the backdrop for the story as to how Kellen came to be the guardian of Matilda. Kellen’s first meeting with Leah is nothing to brag about, but it sure gives an insight into Leah’s personality. She is amazing, fiesty, and the perfect match for Kellen and Matilda. Almost from the very beginning of the book there seems to be trouble around every corner. Danger is everywhere. Not only for them but for their town. Loved the characters and the story. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I have read two other books in the series before this one. I loved reading Leah and Kellen’s story just as much as the other stories. I find KC Krowne’s stories have not only the romance but a little mystery or adventure in them that makes them entertaining. I look forward to reading what she writes next.
K. C. has written another great book. Baby for the Mountain Man is relatively fast and a quick read, It has danger and suspense as well as romance in a small mountain town where everyone knows everyone.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Kellen is filled with guilt over his friends but he has to push forward for their little girl Matilda he gets to raise. She is only a few hours old when she is entrusted to his care for life. Leah has her hotel and charity she runs in honor of her departed sister. Then she has a bad encounter with Kellen, that turns into a real thing. He is also her brothers only friend. Add some fire and stalking drama and the stage is set for this book.
This story is a very enjoyable read. It will warm your heart. It has some drama, twists and turns, and it is well developed. I enjoyed reading about Leah and Kellen. These two characters had good chemistry. It was well written and a good storyline.
I read and reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.
A pretty simple story that was surprisingly entertaining. It didn’t go in the direction I expected when I first started reading.
Kellan and Leah worked well together. They had good chemistry. The introduction of the baby made Kellan less gruff and more lovable. I mean really, it’s not hard to like a single dad caring for an infant with such devotion.
I didn’t expect to like Leah after her initial encounter with Kellan. Leah had a tendency to fly off the handle and react without all the facts at hand. Often placing herself in danger.
Added to this plot was a stalker, an arsonist, and a good amount of mystery and suspense.
Kellan and Leah do get their HEA, but there are still a few relationships and mysteries in the town of Liberty that I think are yet to be uncovered.
