Until next time… Happy Reading!
1:Hate IT! Didn’t finish; usually only given if/when some contents truly objectionable (i.e. main characters does something awful & gets away w/it!)
2:Don’t like IT! Rating means I felt the writing was poor, editing was bad, I don’t care for characters, or book had some major flaw.
3: I like IT, BUT! There are minor issues… Rating means there’s editing issues, needs character development, is too unrealistic, or has issues– I do not consider it an overall bad rating.
4:I like IT a lot. Great, Solid Story w/ few if any inconsistencies or errors. This is a HIGH Rating, & I rarely give OUT a Higher Rating.
5: I LOVE IT! It’s Spectacular, & I’ll read IT Over & Over Again. Few books Receive this rating from me. HowEver, those that DO become Classics.
Elle has been head over heels for, Jeremiah her dad’s best friend, since, she figures out what her heart is for. So, from the age of sixteen to the present age of twenty-eight, she has the hots for him, that never cool. She still finds him to be the hottest man around at any age.
When it opens up Jeremiah, who is the mayor, under investigation, is not happy with the owner / editor, of the Liberty newspaper, which happens to be, Elle. Because he had been getting such bad press from everywhere, she wanted to do a fluff piece, basically to shine a positive light on him. He was mad in the grand skeam of things, because she mentioned he is a single parent, with two small daughters.
Elle hadn’t seen, Jeremiah in, for the most part, five years. She’s been away for college and since her dad passed they didn’t get together as much. Jeremiah always says, “She may be from Liberty, Utah, but she is all New York class and style of dress. She couldn’t understand his attitude since he was always the one that taught her to keep positive thoughts.
She told him she would help her find the answers, to what happened. He told her stay out of it, he wants her safe. He knows she’s stubborn, and won’t listen. Their closeness, puts them closer than ever, causing adult emotions, and it needs to surface. This is filled with mystery and suspense, oh and let’s not forget sex. Kindle Unlimited free.
Great Love
Comes to those who wait and strive for it. Elle was in love with her father’s friend, Jeremiah, since she was a teenager. He is only 14 older than her but he didn’t treat like he cared until she came back to takeover the running of the family paper. Jeremiah took over being mayor when his dad died, but it’s not what he wanted to do. He wanted to raise his girls. Now a scandal has hit and he has to prove he’s innocent.
“Baby for Daddy’s Friend” (Mountain Men of Liberty Book 4) by K. C. Crowne is a great read. I enjoyed Elle and Jeremiah’s story. This is a nice addition to this series, packed with romance, an older man and a younger woman, close friends, drama, small-town life, and more. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next with the residents of Liberty. Recommend to fans of romance, small-town life, and series.
Fourth book in the bundle, and my favorite so far. This book is filled with secrets. Read carefully and you will discover the secrets before the end of the book, maybe. Elle has not seen Jeremiah in years. But things right now are not going good and he’s in trouble. Jeremiah is raising infant twin daughters by himself and now he’s being accused of things he did not do. Elle knows this because she has known Jeremiah almost her whole life. Theirs might seem like a forbidden love, but it is love. So fierce that Elle will do anything to prove Jeremiah’s incident, even if it means finding out secrets she may not want to know. Jeremiah definitely doesn’t want her to know. What could be so bad? Read this book and find out, it is amazing. I loved the ending.
This was fantastic! It has a great plot filled with danger, suspense and plenty of steam.
Coming home to a new beginning and an old love
I love this trope and K.C. Crowne has done a great job of writing an interesting story with fun characters that have some depth and of course there is a HEA. The addition of some political intrigue kept my attention and made it not feel dragged out.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Intriguing & Realistic Romanance.
Ms. K.C. Crowne has just published another must read romance, for each of us, romance Junkies. She has such a way to her writing style, where she can draw a reader right in and keep you glued throughout. Everything K.C. publishes is the top notch quality book and Daddy’s Best Friend, is certainly no different.
While I do try, immensely hard, never to give away any part of the plot, so that I do not read ruin it for readers, here it goes…
Elle, aka Eleanor, has secretly been in love, for many years, with her father’s best friend, Jeremiah, and seeing him as a single father doesn’t help her situation at all, if anything she admires and respects him even more TV. After the loss of her father, Ellie has returned home where she always felt she belonged to post and in Jeremiah’s time of deed she wants to be the one to be there for him to help him through this difficult time where his character is called into question. As a mayor of the small town, Ellie is trying to spare him as much pain as possible, however, as things heat up and the authorities become involved, it’s not looking too good. I encourage all romance junkies, like myself, so follow along as these two fated characters struggle to get there much deserved happily ever after.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced readers copy of Daddy’s Best Friend, in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion. Much like every one of Ms. Crowne’s books, I highly recommend devouring this one, as well as any & everything published by her, as she is a superior Authur; that manages to keep you riveted, from the very beginning, all the way through to end of each and every release she publishes.
I cannot wait to see what she crafts for us next. Congratulations to K.C. for another job well done.
A Daddy Becomes a Daddy
He was the man who had cleaned her fish when she was too squeamish while on her first fishing trip with her dad. He was the one she called when as a foolish 16-year-old, Eleanor Mae Schaeffer—Elle— got drunk at a party after lying to her dad about where was going, was sexually assaulted and too inebriated to drive home. He was in almost every memory of her childhood with her dad. Jeremiah Jenkins was her dad’s best friend—her dad’s hot best friend—and now 45, the man whom she still uses to measure all men. And she loves him, but not as her dad’s best friend. Now, she is back home. She had followed her dreams to New York City to study journalism in college, and now, 5 years later, she is back in Utah, still following her dream by using her inheritance from her dad’s recent and unexpected death to purchase the local newspaper and serve as editor.
Life has also not stood still for Jeremiah during the last 5 years. At 45 is still as fit as he was 15 years earlier resulting from his physical exertions as a hands-on contractor. Only now, his hair and beard are sprinkled with gray, which does not age him—it only makes him more distinguished. But Jeremiah is different—very different. He is now mayor of their town Liberty—his father had died while serving as mayor, and Jeremiah stepped in to fill the interim position. And, he is currently running in a race to permanently fill the position. That means that he has stepped away from his family’s construction company to give full attention to the needs of Liberty and to care for his 2-months old-twin girls. Jeremiah has become a single father with no wife in sight, and while he is devoted to his girls, he is struggling to manage this new role. And, with no information about their origin, the whole town is curious about the unexpected arrival of the twins in his life. As the mayoral race heats up between Jeremiah and his opponent, a newer resident and rich land developer, George Holt, who seems to represent those interests who wish to change the small town to another overdeveloped ski resort with all its beauty dug up for the minerals hidden under the dirt, journalist Elle decides to write a human interest story to sharpen the vision of Jeremiah as the local builder and father. So, when Jeremiah storms into her office furious about the flattering and friendly article, Elle is shocked.
Grounded in the same Utah community of several of her novels, but completely stand-alone except for location and an occasional character whose role in the town is made very clear, KC Crowne once more invites her reader to enter the world of strong characters who are upright moral individuals trying to make the right choices for themselves, their families and their community. Because evil seems to naturally follow good, conflict often ensues as the good takes a stand against those destructive forces. And, in the familiar theme of good vs evil, this novel is no different. Out of these conflicts the plot and complications evolve, creating a story grounded in the contemporary issues facing hundreds of communities—powerful individuals or groups attempting to assert their influence for self-gain, disregarding the interests of the community and the surrounding environment. Family in Crowne’s storytelling is always central, with love and children always at the heart of the well-crafted characters’ hearts. A Crowne tale pulses with the tension, twists and turns of the plot which are always resolved in a happily ever after conclusion.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This is a wonderful taboo older man/younger woman romance. Jeremiah was Elle’s father’s best friend and he feels guilty for noticing that she’s now a woman and he’s attracted to her. Elle’s been attracted to Jeremiah since she’s first noticing boys. Now older she still knows she wants Jeremiah but there is plenty of drama and intrigue surrounding him and his little twin daughters.
Wonderful intriguing romance, well written with amazing likable characters. Loved it.
Elle is a reporter/owner of the local paper. She’s had feelings for her dad’s best friend for years. She’s trying to help him be re-elected mayor of their town because his opponent is awful. When things start happening and Jeremiah becomes a suspect of a murder and then there’s the mystery surrounding his twin daughter’s mother. All Elle wants to do is be there for him and help out where she can. Jeremiah is attracted to Elle and loves seeing her with his girls but isn’t sure if he can come out of the investigation clean. Things heat up between them and even though he wants her to stay out of the situation Elle can’t let it go. Will Jeremiah beat the threat to him? Can they be together?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
