A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.We met in a trapped elevator.Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie.I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own … wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.
After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.
But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.
This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making! Enjoy.

This book did exactly what I needed it to do, it put a smile on my face. This was fun and for me a light-hearted read. I enjoyed the characters and the plot.
What’s not to love about a man willing to sleep with a woman to “help” her get pregnant?? I mean it’s nice he is going to take one for team and help her out. LOL
Over the course of their time together I fell in love with Emmett more and more.
“I lie there in the dark, holding a woman I didn’t know I wanted, that I can never have, listening to the soft rhythm of her breath as I try quiet the doubts starting to swirl through my head.”
I don’t think he knew what he was offering. He didn’t fully understand that by helping her he was going to take stock in his life while seeing just how much she knew what she wanted. Watching him come to terms with where he was at in his life was my favorite part of this book. Well that and the chemistry between these two leaped off of the pages with every scene.
Kendall did fantastic with this one. I thought this was going to be a lighter read then what it was. I was pleasantly surprised that it was emotional and endearing.
I always enjoy Kendall Ryan’s books, and this one was really no exception. Good characters with interesting personalities and engaging story line.
This is a standalone. It’s pretty hilarious. The premise of the story isn’t new, but Ms Ryan presents it in a way that is unique. It all starts in an elevator…
Neither Emmett nor Jenna are really the type to get themselves willing into the situation they’re about to enter into. They’re both type-A personalities, in charge, take no prisoners, and know exactly what they want and how to get it. They’ve always gotten what they wanted and they’ve always been the one to make it happen. So, when Jenna realizes that she’s going to miss her appointment at the fertility clinic, the one it took forever to get, she is probably more open to Emmett’s idea than she normally would be. Emmett? Yeah, he’s a typical male stuck in an elevator with a beautiful woman… Nothing and everything happens inside that elevator.
Baby Daddy is equal parts sweet and raw. It’ll have you laughing one minute and wondering what the heck just happened the next. If you’re offended by steamy scenes and raw language this one won’t be for you. It is a quick and entertaining read with some fun characters.
Oh my….I loved Emmett and Jenna so much. Emmett is the workaholic CEO that thought he didn’t have time for a family and Jenna was the small business owner that wanted a family and was ready to take matters into her own hands. When these two meet sparks fly and the chemistry is explosive! This book was laugh out loud funny, sweet, sexy and will have you so enamored you won’t realize you finished until you see those two words that will have you yelling NO!!! I couldn’t put this read down and neither will you.
This is one of those stories where you know how it ends, but the fun of it is on the pages in between. And believe me, Emmett and Jenna have loads of fun. Making a baby the old-fashioned way with a man (who is off the charts hot that you met in the elevator when it got stuck) is bound to be interesting!
Emmett and Jenna have so much chemistry but their ideals are a bit mixed up. By the time they realize it, their hearts are intertwined, they’ve made a baby and an agreement neither wants anymore. Then enter fear. Neither wanting to get hurt, they choose denial. Because we all know denial is so much better. But their wants and needs and the baby keep pulling them back together.
Baby Daddy was so much fun to read!
Baby Daddy is a contemporary romance novel by Kendall Ryan. The story is about a 35 year old independent woman named Jenna, who has decided that she can hear her biological clock ticking and has decided to become artificially inseminated at the doctor’s office since she has given up on the idea of falling in love. On her way to the doctor’s office on the 13th floor in the building’s elevator that she happens to be sharing with a very attractive and sexy man, the elevator suddenly comes to a complete stop. The man on the elevator, whose name we learn is Emmett, introduces himself to Jenna and they settle in for an up to an hour wait. Emmett guesses that Jenna is on her way to be inseminated, since the doctor’s office takes up the entire 13th floor, and so they talk through the hour of waiting for the elevator repairmen to fix the elevator by discussing Jenna’s decision to become a single mother. During the discussion Emmett offers his services to become the sperm donor for Jenna, because he is very attracted to her and hopes to sleep with her. He tells Jenna that he is married to his job as the CEO of his late father’s company, and would not want to have any part in the child’s life. Because
Jenna is attracted to Emmett, she decides to take Emmett up on his offer. They exchange phone numbers, the elevator starts up and they get out and go their separate ways. What will happen to Jenna and Emmett if they decide to go along with this crazy idea?
I really enjoyed this book! It made me laugh out loud and cry I read the whole book very quickly because I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next! I recommend this book!
~3.5 Stars~
Baby Daddy takes us on a journey of one woman craving motherhood and will do anything possible in order to achieve this goal. That even means insemination. But on her way to her first appointment Jenna gets stuck in an elevator with none other than Mr. Playboy of all playboys, Emmett.
Emmett is a workaholic who has no time for the obligations and responsibility that comes with having a family. When he gets stuck in an elevator with Jenna and hears her crazy plan on how she’s going to achieve motherhood all by herself, well this man isn’t having that so he makes her an offer she can’t refuse.
A no strings attached relationship forms between the two with just one exception. When Jenna becomes pregnant the relationship ends….Haha….RIGHT!
Okay, first of all let me start by saying I really enjoyed this novel…..BUT….and this is a big but…..I found it very predictable. With a story line such as this there is a lot of room for twists and turns, for causing the reader to expect the unexpected and be on the edge of his/her seat. I was really bummed that none of this applied to this novel. I wanted and needed more.
On the other hand, I really enjoyed the vibe of this novel and Jenna’s determination to get what she wants out of life. I also loved Emmett’s swoony-ness.
Overall, I’m a sucker for a happily ever after. I enjoyed the ending to Emmett and Jenna’s story. A smile is still on my face. These two are the perfect fit.
Baby Daddy by Kendall Ryan is a standalone romance told in dual POV. The story unfolds from an elevator incident (two complete strangers stuck together for two hours) to a full on love story complete with baby.
Let me back up, Jenna wants a baby. She is on her way to the sperm clinic to begin the process and gets stuck on an elevator with a very fine specimen of the male species, Emmett. He surmises she must be going to the spank bank and an embarrassing conversation ensues followed by an eager offer from Emmett to be the sperm donor instead of an anonymous spanker from the clinic. Entranced by his delicious smell, charming demeanor and entertaining banter she seriously considers the offer.
The sex and hilarity just continues from here. With a few angsty moments where neither one is able to communicate their feelings, meanwhile you, the reader, are whisper-yelling at your kindle for them to get their acts together and we end at a happily ever after. What did I miss? He is CEO of a large bookstore company that is trying to buy out a local small bookstore owned by Jenna. Neither one of them knows what the other one does specifically for work. hey both catch feelings early and try to play it off, sometimes convincingly, other times to so much. The characters bounce their wit and frustration off each other and are well-developed and the pace was well-done.
I haven’t read a book yet by Kendall Ryan that I haven’t loved. Enjoy!
Baby Daddy by Kendall Ryan is a fun easy going read. It is filled with laughs, crying moments, steamy sex, great chemistry, and the usual can I smack you moments.
Emmett swears he will forever be a bachelor, that he will stay married to his work. Emmett will have you laughing with his opening wit, the way he refers to himself is laugh worthy. The way he calls Jenna out on her mission in the elevator is amusing. Of course, he does the total wine and dine and the I don’t want to be a dad, I just want to help you talk.
Jenna is an independent woman on a mission. Jenna has dated just about every guy, so to speak, and has struck out every time. She has come to the conclusion that if she wants a child, she will have to do it the clinical way. Sperm bank. When Emmett offers to be her baby daddy, she has no idea what she is in store for.
Emmett and Jenna have some serious chemistry and they let it loose with some steamy sex. Is that all it is though, sex? Can they let one another go once Jenna is pregnant? Wait, can Emmett commit to sex with one woman multiple times? Will they have their happy ever after?
Read. Read. Read. Kendall Ryan is a fantastic author and you will not be disappointed. I have read many of her other books and never have I been disappointed. You will be hooked on Baby Daddy once you read the first page. This is why I give Kendall, 5 stars on this outstanding book.

I liked this book, but it wasn’t one of my faves from Kendall. I think the whole pregnancy thing is coming up a lot lately, and that might be lending to my opinion.
Jenna, the main female character, is very determined, and she knows what she wants for her life. Her big wish is a baby, and since she’s in her 30’s and single, she’s going to the clinic to choose from a folder of candidates who have donated to the sperm bank.
On the way, she gets trapped in the elevator in the building, along with Emmett, who works in another office there. All of a sudden he knows all about her plan, and offers to help her the old fashioned way. Some no strings attached sex so she can get pregnant. Neither of them want relationships, and he figures they may as well help each other out instead of her being inseminated in the clinic.
Now, I find this an unrealistic storyline, but it was written quite well by Kendall. I always enjoy Kendalls books, and her writing always makes you laugh and enjoy whats happening.
Some of the events in the book were predictable, but I liked the fact that both characters knew what they wanted. They were just too scared to let something extra into their lives, for fear of being let down, or I suppose, fear or themselves being the one to fail. It was realistic to read this, and something that I imagine many people deal with in daily life around the world.
In the end, it was sweet watching the way that Emmett and Jenna’s relationship evolved, and the ending was perfect for these two.
Kendall Ryan is a one click author for me. I always enjoy her stories and know they’ll leave me wanting more. Baby Daddy took me a minute to get into-simply because some parts were a little too relatable for me, but once I reminded myself it was a book I was able to just enjoy it.
Jenna and Emmett meet in a way that had me chuckling. There’s attraction there but Jenna is a woman on a mission for the one thing Emmett wants no part of. I can understand that focus, that drive on Jenna’s part. I can admire it. I understood where she was coming from.
That being said, I understood Emmett as well. He was a good book boyfriend-even though he never intended to be one. I enjoyed watching him grow throughout this book.
As I said, the chemistry is there. The sexy times were sexy, but there was more to this book than just that. These characters had me laughing and they had me sighing others. I thought their journey together was unique and really well written.
Now, as for the story…this isn’t my first baby book I’ve read this year. This is a popular trope right now but Kendall Ryan has a knack for making things unique and fresh. I enjoyed the writing in this book-parts of it just had me cracking up. I think the pacing worked as well. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

This was a very cute read! Jenna wants a baby and doesn’t need a man to do it. On her way to the sperm bank, she gets stuck in the elevator with Emmett and sparks fly. Emmett ends up finding out about where Jenna was headed and decides to offer a very ‘hands on’ approach to her problem. He would help her with sex to get pregnant and then be on his way. What could go wrong right?
I couldn’t help but fall in love with these two. They were adorable and I just wanted them to just admit their feelings for each other. They were perfect for each other but didn’t want to see it or admit it. The freakin’ chemistry between these two was killing with every scene! So amazing!
However, I couldn’t give it more than three stars was because even though it was a cute and sweet book I did find it a bit predictable. I also would have loved to see her really think about his offer before agreeing.
All in all, another Kendall Ryan book that had great characters, steamy scenes, and just had me smiling once I reached the end because it was too cute.
Well, I can safely say that I read this amazing story in one sitting. This 5 star story had me hooked from the blurb to the very last page read. I couldn’t manage to get to sleep until the last page was read.
Jenna wants a baby. And raise it by herself. She’s due to go to a fertility clinic until she gets stuck in an elevator with Emmett. He makes her an offer that she can’t refuse. No strings attached. The lines will get blurry and things will not go how they expected them to go.
This was a lighthearted fun and quite entertaining story. It was so addicting that I couldn’t put it down. There were no unnecessary details, it was straight to the point, which I like. The chemistry between these 2 was off the charts. The scenes were so hot that it almost melted the snow off my roof.
Amazingly written story with a great storyline that flowed well. This is a must read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
This is another fun read from Kendall Ryan. This is a complete standalone.
This book reminded me a little of the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movie “You’ve Got Mail”. It has that type of vibe to it and the whole big bookstore taking over the smaller Indie bookstores.
The first meeting is great. Who would think that being trapped in an elevator with a complete stranger would end up with an agreement to make a baby?
Jenna is thirty-five. She has her book store, but she’s ready for a baby and can’t wait for Mr. Right. She’s not getting any younger. She’s going to the sperm bank. Who needs a man for anything other than his baby batter? Not her.
Emmett is CEO of Baxter Books. He took the company over from his dad. He’s almost forty. He’s still in his playboy ways. Just one-nighters. He works too much for anything more than that.
An elevator ride changed both their lives!
This is a cute, funny, and easy read.
Who knew getting stuck in an elevator would lead to such an entertaining story. Of course their chances of survival would not be high if they were seriously stuck.
A bit predictable only in the fact if you try for a baby the old fashioned way, feelings have a high probability of coming into play. But this in no way takes away from the overall charm of Emmett and Jenna’s story. “Ground rules” are laid out at the very beginning, but I loved how feelings quickly started changing but each was reluctant to let those feelings known. A few twists and surprises along the way. This is a wonderfully sexy book.
Sophisticated, successful and sexy as sin, Emmett’s also a player who tends to let his little head do a lot of his thinking for him. When he finds himself trapped in an elevator with a beautiful, and single, woman on her way to the sperm bank, he decides to offer her his services with no strings attached . . . that way they both get what they want . . . he gets to have some fun and she gets the baby she’s always wanted.
With her biological clock ticking, relationship shy Jenna’s ready to be a mom no matter what the cost. Just when she’s made up her mind to be artificially inseminated, Emmett makes her an offer she can’t seem to refuse, even though she knows she should.
While they agree to exclusivity until Jenna is pregnant, Emmett swears he wants nothing to do with a baby, which is just how Jenna wants things. However, the more they begin spending time together, the more both of them seem to start wanting what they shouldn’t . . . each other!
Baby Daddy was a cute read and had a fantastic happy ever after, but seemed to follow a fairly predictable plotline. I was hoping the author would sneak a surprise or two into the story, but it just didn’t happen. Jenna is super awkward at times and Emmett has some swoon-worthy moments as he figures out he cares a little more than he bargained for, but for me, the book lacked that special something to truly make it feel unique. I did enjoy the banter between characters that Kendall Ryan does so well. 3.5 stars.
What do you do if you’re a woman thats ready to have a baby, but there’s no partner in the picture, and your biological clock has started ticking more loudly of late? Well, if you’re Jenna Porter, you decide to take matters into your own hands, so to speak. But a funny thing happens on the way to the fertility clinic, a funny and very sexy thing, in the form of Emmett Smith. He’s intrigued by the idea, and more than up to the challenge, of helping Jenna with her little problem. Let the games begin.
I love a good romantic comedy. What’s not to like about a feel-good read, one that fogs up the windows, while leaving you with some laugh-out-loud moments? I mean, I enjoy a good angsty read, too, but the lighter side definitely has its appeal, and BABY DADDY by author Kendall Ryan hits all of the marks.
Jenna and Emmett have undeniable chemistry, the kind that engages right from the start. And, even though neither one wants more than the baby-making, it doesn’t take long for all of the dratted feelings to kick in. Plenty of sexy times, yes, but the tender moments, the witty banter, the things that make a relationship just that, these are the things that I love the most about this book.
Kendall is one of my go-to authors, whether it’s her alpha males and strong women, or her rom-coms with plenty of heart. Jenna and Emmett might be one of my favorite of her couples ever, and I thoroughly enjoyed their story. 4.5 sweet, sexy, delightful stars for BABY DADDY; add this one to your TBR and enjoy.
Hilarious, sweet, and HOT, Baby Daddy is perfection all wrapped up in a book. It was so easy to lose myself in Jenna and Emmett’s story. From the moments that had me dying laughing to the heart warming sweetness of these two trying to “not” fall in love there wasn’t a thing I didn’t enjoy while reading this. Kendall Ryan delivers a story that will have you captivated from the very start and keep you glued to the pages until the very end!
Emmett had me falling for him right from the prologue. Hilarious, a bit cocky, but truly sweet, he was everything I love and more in a book boyfriend. The chemistry between him and Jenna is instant and those sparks only get hotter the more time they spend together. A perfect balance of heat and sweet, you get a true love story that will have you going back to reread this one over and over.
A sweet, humorous and brilliantly written contemporary romance that’ll have you panting, laughing and swooning…
I can’t stop giggling right now. This book, Baby Daddy, has got to be one of my 2018 faves. It’s no secret that I am a Kendall Ryan aficionado, her writing style really resonates with me. Its so effortless and easy to read even when addressing the more difficult and darker parts of life. I’d like to say that I’m easy to please, but that would be a lie. I am very choosy and picky of what works for me.You know—I like drama, but not over the top drama—I like sex, but I hate when it’s the focus—I love egocentric heroes, but I also need them to be empathiseable—I like my heroines brave and strong and independent, but they also need to have a soft and relinquishing side. Like I said I’m a bit of a snob, I don’t mean to be, but I know what works. I know what gets me excited about a book and so far…Kendall always does it for me. Her balance of all those things, for me, is just perfect.
Baby Daddy isn’t the first baby/conception focused plot that I’ve recently read. In fact, I’ve read a handful so far this year, but this book is definitely is definitely tied at the number 1 spot. This is a true romantic comedy. It has a great balance between bellyaching and tear inducing humour, hot sex, heart-melting romance and brilliantly thought out plot. Is it predictable? Certain elements are, but there are some surprises along the way. Honestly, I loved that the main focus of this story was the romance. I understand that you need more, but once in a while you need a book that you can sit, chill and enjoy without having to think. This book is exactly that for me. It is on the shorter novel/ longer novella side of things, but again it tells the story flawlessly. The pace is bang on the money. The writing is nearing if not perfection. The plot is beautiful and has all the feels. This is a winner!
Character wise…ohmygoodygoodlord…sweet Jesus… Both Emmett and Jenna are loveable. Their chemistry is like rocket fuel. I’m pretty sure that I was panting a lot of the way through this book. Whenever they’re together you can feel that tummy rolling, heart hammering, cold and hot sweaty thing going on. Building. When they come together it’s an implosion and explosion—it’s a big bang. Emmett was very much a gentleman when he needed to be and a complete animal when Jenna needed him to be more. They way he yearns to take care of her despite the expiration date on their agreement is sweet and awing. He’s like this gentle bear. I just loved him so much, especially when he came out with some of his one liners. Jenna was the opposite in many ways, but they were also so similar. They are both go getters but in different ways. They’re both driven but mostly in different ways. They start off with very different priorities and you can tell that Jenna’s strength and her tenacity really do things to him. She makes him see things from a different angle. They really are perfect for one another…once they give into the pull.
All in all Baby Daddy was an incredible read from beginning to end. I was so gutted when I finished, I just couldn’t bring myself to saying goodbye to either of them. But at the same time, the grin on my face was so big it slashed my face in two. I just LOVED this book. I could read it again and again and again and never tire of it. It’s just freaking brilliant!
