A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.We met in a trapped elevator.Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie.I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own … wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.
After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.
But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.
This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making! Enjoy.

I have a new baby daddy…and his name is Emmett Smith <3!! After a string of fantastic yet more serious reads, Baby Daddy was the perfect book to recharge and cleanse my reading pallet.
Emmett and Jenna had such a wonderful connection and shared great chemistry. I just adored everything about this story.
I just want to say how I wish my elevator rides could be just as interesting as they are in romance novels. With my luck, my elevator adventure would involve some construction worker after a full days work in 100 degree heat. Yeah, nothing as pleasant as getting to know the sexy man in a suit who, after a 45 minute conversation offers to fill me with his baby batter. Gah! I get all warm just thinking about it.
With Emmett and Jenna, they have it all figured out. Their life plans are set, the agreement is ironed out and all is well. Until what was supposed to be a detached, clinical interaction turns out to be a smoking hot sex fest. From there not only does a friendship form, but the passion grows.
Baby Daddy was a quick, comical, emotional, sweet and sexy romance that had my heart from beginning to end.
Jenna has decided to become a single mom. She meets Emmett when they are trapped in an elevator on her way to her appointment at a sperm bank. Something made her open up to Emmett on her plans. He not only convinces her to go out to dinner with him but also to allow him to be her baby daddy. He can give her something she really wants without becoming an active father and she can have a baby she desperately wants without the complications of an involved father could possibly bring.
I loved how they started with just with just the pregnancy plan but slowly ended up developing a friendship. Both of them wanting to take their relationship to a deeper level but leery on taking that step. They connect on so many levels that from a reader stand point it was just a matter of time till they fell in love with each other.
Also as a reader you know that their present is about to collide and possibly ruin any future they have. As I’m reading along in the back of my mind I’m chanting to Emmett that he needs to tell her the name of her company. I’m trying to head off any misunderstandings.
Baby Daddy is the first book I have read by Kendall Ryan and I glad to say I am now a follower and look forward to reading more of her books.
Ok I’ve been a huge fan of Kendall Ryan for awhile now! This book broke the mold, it is such a different and unique story! You can’t help but to fall in love with Emmett and Jenna. You will cheer from them from the very first time they meet. It’s supposed to be a wam bam thank you ma’am deal, but it turns into so much more! I absolutely loved this book!!
Get ready to go on this fun & sexy journey with Emmett & Jenna.
I loved the concept of two willing adults helping each other out on the Baby making train.Of course Emmett thinks he can handle Jenna with ease on just making it all about getting the bun in the oven while he gets his rocks off with the sexy Jenna. But…. their chemistry was not what he expected.
It’s super hot!
These two will keep your Tablets on fire with their ongoing non stop sex marathons that they can’t stop even after Jenna gets pregnant.
Find out if these two make more than just a baby…like finding love with one another & finally finding that one, or shall we say two?
I don’t think I have laughed so hard and enjoyed a book this much in quite a while.
Jenna’s internal clock is ticking and she is set on going to a fertility clinic to help her out. Emmett is running his families company and is married to it.
On her way there, never does she imagine being caught in the elevator with Emmett and he would offer to help her out. I mean….what could go wrong, right?
I loved every interaction Emmett and Jenna have. Jenna definitely keeps Emmett on his toes when it comes to him “putting a bun in her oven”. It is not quite as simple as it seems. Will they be able to keep feelings out of the mix?
This is a MUST read!! The chemistry between Emmett and Jenna seeps through the pages and you cannot help but to fall in love with their characters.
#YouSpankItWeBankIT
Who would have thought that Emmett’s most ‘trusted adviser’ and best friend, his dick, would be what makes him suggest and even persuade Jenna to use his body and most importantly his sperm to ‘get the job done’, the old fashioned way, and give Jenna what she wants – a baby – without the complications or added pressure of there being a father to contend with since Emmett’s only donating his time and his seed to the project until it takes!
Romance readers who love romantic comedies in this trope know right from the start of the story that regardless of how hard the hero and heroine try to keep feelings out of the equation and resolve to stick to their agreed upon and even contracted plan, needs and wants always become a factor because when it comes down to it, people will always want more when it comes to the ‘right’ person, and it’s clear from their initial attraction and the way they are pulled to one another that Emmett and Jenna want each other for more than just their reproductive body parts…NOW, the fun and frustrating part is being a reader who knows where the characters are headed and understanding that it’s the right path for both of them but being forced to wait and see if they’ll smarten up and go after what they truly want before they do irrevocable damage to everything they never knew they wanted.
There is a point of contention when it comes to Emmett and Jenna’s professional lives; both refuse to give any specific insights when it comes to their careers and while readers are perfectly aware of what will happen once that information is discovered, Ryan handles that issue just right because it truly shouldn’t be the thing that drives Emmett and Jenna apart when it’s clear that the bigger concern is their skewed views on settling down and their feelings about being left behind to go it alone, since that’s exactly what they witnessed their parents have to endure.
Kendall Ryan definitely understands what her readers want in a romance; Emmett and Jenna are extremely likable characters who have great chemistry, both in and outside the bedroom, and they truly enjoy spending time together even when they’re not attempting to make a baby.
Emmett and Jenna’s story is a sweet, steamy, and entertaining read that takes a stereotypical ‘baby daddy’ storyline and puts its own spin on it, moving beyond the child at stake and focusing on the fact that these two people who have remained largely single for personal reasons find something in each other that they refuse to let slip through their fingers even if they hit a few bumps along the way to realizing exactly what they’d be giving up if they went their separate ways after the baby deed was done.
4 Poison Apples
Baby Daddy is the story of the most adorable couple, Emmett and Jenna, who meet in an elevator. Emmett is a workaholic who has no need for a wife or family and Jenna’s clock is ticking LOUDLY. While killing time, the topic of babies comes up and Emmett is more than happy to help Jenna forgo the fertility clinic to take a shot at baby making the old fashioned way.
I absolutely loved this book. It was totally an over the top, light hearted love story that completely won me over from the first page. Emmett and Jenna’s relationship is so fun, he’s totally attracted to her and she’s taking the clinical route to get the baby made. I laughed and enjoyed every minute, especially the first time they had sex!
Baby Daddy was a sweet, romantic and sexy story of two characters who fell in love while trying to just help each other out. This is absolutely the best baby making book I’ve read 😉
Funny, smexy with a little bit of angsty. Great reading
Yes!! I LOVED this book! Kendall Ryan is just plain magical! She has to be, I mean how else is it that I get so consumed in her books? Baby Daddy was so much more than I could have expected! No, this isn’t a deep soul-shattering story. This is lighter and fun and full of steam and heat! Every once in a while it’s fun to back away from the deep books and just get immersed into a fun story!
I adored Jenna! She’s strong and is living my dream of owning a bookstore. She decides she’s tired of waiting on life to give her what she wants. Jenna goes out and grabs what she wants by the balls! It just so happens what she needs is IN the balls so she heads to a fertility clinic. She doesn’t have faith in men anymore so she decides she wants a donor. Who would have thought she’d find the perfect sperm donor, and I mean that literally. Emmet loves his single, uncomplicated life and hooking up with whomever he wants, whenever he wants. They strike up an agreement to go out impregnating Jenna the ol’ fashioned way and then Emmet will split living the perfect little bun in her oven.
Yeah, so the meat of the plan works. It’s the ending execution that is the problem. The hearts of Jenna and Emmet get all tangled up in the blankets too. I just love Kendall Ryan’s stories. Baby Daddy is totally unrealistic and way over-the-top cheese that I LOVE on my pizza… oh, books, I mean books! It’s fun and sweet and left me with a goofy grin on my face!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
HELLO Baby Daddy! I was glued to these pages all the way through. Once I met Emmett and Jenna, real life had to be put on hold. I mean who would not want to know what would happen next if you read about a conversation taking place in a stuck elevator about making babies! Emmett is the sexy young CEO and Jenna is a successful entrepreneur. One of my favorite parts at the beginning is when Jenna answers the phone to speak with her mom in front of Emmett. I was laughing hard.
When Emmett makes an offer that is to good to pass up, the story line got more interesting. I mean come on, there was a reason that Emmett was desperate for some “alone sexy time” with Jenna. I had my money that he was not going to be able to walk away from her once the deed was done. I love how Emmett seems to think with his… love stick. But we all know he just has not found his other half yet.
Emmett does come off as cocky and little arrogant. You still won’t be able to help but fall for him anyways. Baby Daddy does not only make you smile more times than you can count, but it brings sexiness to a whole new level!
This is one of the funniest books I’ve read in awhile! The only reason I couldn’t devour it in one day is because I started reading it a bit late in the night and had to force myself to put it away when it was way past my bedtime.
The story flows so effortlessly, the banter is so sexy and hilarious. Emmett and Jenna are extremely lovable main characters. It is so heartwarming to read how they fell for each other, starting with a (need I say it again?) funny elevator encounter. Emmett is so attentive and lovable. And Jenna? I want to be her best friend.
Kendall Ryan is excellent at describing their non-dates and how they process their feelings. She takes you on their journeys of discovery, hopes and dreams. This is about two people who think they know what they want out of life but are taken down a different path just because of a chance encounter. Their past may shape their needs but their wants will not be shackled as they help each other break down the walls.
Baby Daddy is entertaining, it will pull all your emotions and leave you with a big smile.
This is undeniably a 5 star book for me.
From awkward elevator conversation to making a baby together?!? My first thought was, what the heck, how did that happen? As always, Kendall Ryan took the improbable and turned it into something that became a fairy tale!
Jenna has become disillusioned by life. Men are unreliable, and she doesn’t really have time for them anyway. The rest of her life isn’t what she thought it would be either. But there is one dream that she has, that she is determined to make come true regardless of how she has to accomplish it. She wants a child!
Emmett thinks he has everything that he ever wanted. He’s rich, successful, and single, with no thought to having a family. He comes up with this crazy scheme to help Jenna out, no strings attached. But things never turn out how you think they will.
Emmett seems to be a whole lot more than he appears to be on the outside, at first glance. Turns out, he isn’t a playboy at heart, but a big teddy bear! I love those kinds of guys! They are my favorite kinds of heroes! I love how he was so sweet with Jenna, SWOON!!!!
This book is a touching, sweet story, with plot twists that I didn’t see coming. It just proves that life gives you what you need, not what you think you want!
From now on, everything time I’m in an elevator, I’m going to remember this story!
Kendall Ryan delivers a lustful, erotic, and emotional page-tuner with Baby Daddy.
No strings….just sex. Just sex….to make a baby.
Seriously, there’s no point in describing what this book is about, because the synopsis hits the story right on the head. Emma wants a baby, and Emmett steps up to the plate and nails her, er…I mean, IT, right out of the park. But when an unexpected connection and strong emotions come into play, neither one of them are ready to say goodbye.
Never a dull moment, Baby Daddy starts off with a bang, and the storyline keeps you intrigued until the very end. The unique relationship that Emmett and Jenna find themselves in is not an uncommon trope. But with the magnificent writing abilities of the author, and the ever-imaginative dialogue, the story quickly turns into one that will make readers fall head-over-heels!
Emmett and Jenna have undeniable chemistry; this is discovered from the get-go. But what we’re given is a more in-depth tale of taking this unconventional relationship and exploring the underlying possibilities of passion, devotion, and love.
A love story that perfectly blends seductive and steamy desires with affectionate and wistful romance, Baby Daddy is an expressive and refreshing book, that’s sure to leave a smile on your face!
5 Stars!
Jenna’s biological clock is ticking away and she really wants a family of her own, problem is she is missing the other essential part to making that happen… a man!! So, with no man on the horizon, and those minutes ticking away on that clock she decides to take matters into her own hands, and have a baby the unconventional way. She establishes a baby making plan, makes an appointment with the fertility clinic, but said plan hits a little snag when she winds up trapped on an elevator the day of her appointment, and misses it. However, she does meet a gorgeous man that makes her an offer that she doesn’t really want to refuse, he’ll help her out with the baby making part of her plan, and then walk away with no strings attached. Could it really be that easy??
The moment Emmitt meets Jenna in the elevator he is drawn to her, she is beyond gorgeous, intelligent, and easy to talk to. With a little conversation and narrowing down he learns the reason why she is in the elevator in the first place and he is a little surprised to learn that not only is she is single, but that she is about to become a parent on her own… with the help of a sperm bank. For whatever reason once he hears her story he can’t help but want to get involved and help make her dream of having a baby come true, it seems like a win-win situation for both of them. He gets a little stress relief with a beautiful partner, and she gets to make her dream a reality… but could it really be that easy?
In this latest love story from Ms. Ryan readers will have the chance to meet a couple that is determined to make a go at life alone, then one moment in a elevator changes everything for them, in ways they never expected… and man o’ man was a lot of fun to watch it all unfold. Baby Daddy is a sweet, sexy, and compassionate read that is sure to leave you a little misty-eyed and your heart jumping for joy!! These two wandered onto the page and I immediately felt a connection to them, they pulled me into their little world, and made me feel right at home… so much so, that I didn’t want to leave them when their story was over. The story line was engaging, loaded with the feels, and the characters chemistry was palpable throughout… what a amazing read!! Highly recommend you meet these two, they are sure to keep you captivated from start to finish!!
I requested an advanced copy from the publisher, and voluntarily read and reviewed.
Once again Kendall Ryan delivers a perfect rom com, this book has it all, plenty of humour, romance and some seriously hot moments.
Emmitt and Jenna find themselves stuck in an elevator, she is on her way to a appointment at the sperm bank and he is on his way to his office which happens to be a floor above and as you do when you are stuck in an elevator you talk to pass the time and Jenna finds herself telling Emmitt about her need for a baby what she didn’t expect was for him to offer to get her pregnant the traditional way….
Is it possible to make a baby and not let feelings get in the way, can their arrangement end once Jenna is pregnant and will they be able to go their separate ways. I think you need to read the book to find that out and along the way I’m sure you will have some laugh out loud moments as well as some let’s bash your heads together moments. The banter is perfect and I’m really in love with Emmitt and Jenna pretty adorable as well. This is a funny enjoyable read and I challenge anyone to not giggle at

I had fun reading Jenna and Emmett’s story. From the interesting way they met, trapped in an elevator, to all their fun moments as Emmett becomes Jenna’s sperm donor, they are a fun and exciting couple. Both have been damaged and are reluctant to want a relationship. Emmett doesn’t believe in love and finds one-night stands is the best method to exercise his favorite body part. Jenna keeps finding toads. Together they find an ease that surprises them both. I loved their conversations about nothing and everything. The biggest challenge for each of them is believing and trusting that they are worthy of love. Truly a wonderfully fun, sexy surprise romance to devour.
Kendall Ryan’s books are always amazing to me. They are always Sassy, Swoony and Sexy. I love her main leads as they always deliver with the fantastic banter, hot chemistry and a beautiful love story. I could not get enough of Jenna and Emmett and their connection. What started as an impersonal agreement quickly escalates to something they need and ultimately couldn’t live without. I could not get enough!
Emmett Smith is all about having fun but is one and done with commitment as he only has time for his work. His motto based on his own family experience: “Why get married and have kids when it’ll lead to unhappiness especially when work comes first.” But then he meets Jenna, a 35 year old career oriented woman who realizes all her years of devotion and hardwork to her business allowed her personal life to take a back seat. Her solution: a plan for single motherhood and a date with a sperm bank. But enter Fate: one stopped elevator, chance meeting and fiery chemistry later, Emmett now has Jenna convinced to give him a chance to be the “stud” for her future baby. But when lines get crossed and feelings develop, can these two realize what they have right in front of them is worth a chance at forever?
This book was amazing!! It was a hot and fun story that really hit the spot. It was sweet and sexy and gave me all the feels. Emmett and Jenna delivered the laughs, swoons and hot sexytimes that Kendall Ryan’s books are known for!! While the twist was something that we could see a mile away, it was very well done and highly entertaining. I look forward to more from this author in the future. Bravo! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula
Who’s fooling who? Are they fooling each other or themselves? Of course fate is pulling all the strings, but are these two control freaks ready to relinquish control. Kendall Ryan has a unique voice. One idea sets the bench mark for seduction and encompasses an endearing tale of sensuality and self-discovery, while tickling you funny bone at the same time. Emmett and Jenna bring the tension, arrogance, frustration and sexuality, but the two factors that made the craziness worthwhile is Ms. Ryan’s attention to two equally important details. She let the sunshine in with her humorous delivery and her heartwarming characters. Baby Daddy is a must read.
The funniest thing ever! While reading the Prologue at first I kept thinking who is Emmett’s best friend and then reading a bit more I realized his BFF was his (dick).
Emmett and his dick was going to take the girl (Jenna) he met in the elevator out to dinner with a no strings attached baby making moment.
“Welcome to the craziest ride my dick’s ever gotten me into.”
Jenna is so clinical about her trying to get pregnant. I mean how clinical was this statement.
“Thanks for the fertilization”.
And, sometimes no matter how much you plan things work out differently.
Oh, we got a baby hence the title of this book Baby Daddy. But, Jenna never expected to get the whole kit and caboodle. Meaning Jenna & Emmett’s HEA. Thank goodness for Emmett’s tenacity to hanging in there. Lord knows Jenna kept pushing Emmett away.
Baby Daddy is a fun & sexy book to read. I loved it! 5 STARS.
