I love the guys and gals of Linear Tactical and in this the latest offering we get to catch up with two previous met characters
Blake (Baby) Bollinger is the younger brother of Finn Bollinger who we met in Eagle he never joined the military like his brothers or friends but he is just as skilled as them instead he went on to work at a local garage a garage he will inherit from his predecessor as long as he complete a bachelor degree and he has been given seven years but time is almost up and it looks like he could lose the business. When he first meets Quinn Harrison-Pritchard who is the older sister of boy Riley he is instantly attracted but she has a past that no one knows about Why is a Harvard professor working in a diner and a small local college to make ends meet. As the attraction between them grows there secrets come out and danger closes in on Quinn will Baby face his own demons and find that in fact is family will love him no matter what and will do everything they can to help him.
I loved Baby and Quinn from the beginning. This book has suspense, chemistry and great romance. I could not put it down or wanted too. I love this author and her great stories.
Blake “Baby” Bollinger is a happy go lucky kind of guy. Always with a smile and wink, no one sees his struggles. Quinn Harrison’s struggles are well known and she is fleeing to Oak Creek to get some solitude. Despite their age difference, Quinn and Baby hit it off right away and they are slowly able to share their past with one another.
Quinn is a brilliant former professor at Harvard who is now seen as a liability by employers due to “erratic behavior”. This woman can’t catch a break! Her ex-husband is a douche canoe of the highest order, Harvard blacklisted her, and she begins questioning her own mind. Baby has a job he loves, but a provision in a will might cause him to lose it. He hasn’t told anyone he has been going to college or that he could lose his business. But, with only a few months left to meet the deadline, he realizes he needs help.
For me, it was obvious who was out to get Quinn. What was unique about Quinn’s situation is the way Crouch focused on the impact to her mental health. I also thought the chemistry between Baby and Quinn felt very natural. Normally, age gap tropes are hit or miss for me, but in the case of Baby, it was effortless. Also, fans of the series will enjoy the glimpses into past couples and their adorable kids! But no worries if you haven’t read the other books-this really does stand alone quite well.
Fans of age gap romance, secrets, danger, and true love will gobble up Baby just like I did!
Oh, Baby! We all have been waiting for Baby’s story and Ms. Crouch did not disappoint! A younger man attracted to an older (only 12 years) woman and their attempts to get beyond their pasts to find love. Baby is the fun one, everyone loves Baby, but he lives with secrets that he holds close to his heart. Quinn Harrison-Pritchard, Boy Riley’s half-sister arrives in Oak Creek after suffering the loss of her professorship at Harvard. Someone seems out to get her as they “play” with her life. Who could she have offended that would try to destroy her? Baby knows that Quinn is the one for him, but he is going to have to convince her that their age difference does not matter. When Quinn is faced with a life and death situation, will Baby and the Linear Tactical team be able to find her before it is too late? A very intriguing mystery, with love, hope and determination as two lost souls finally come together. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. There are not enough stars to express how fabulous this book is. Baby Bollinger is probably my all-time favorite male character in any book. He is kind, generous, courageous, strong, vulnerable – his character is just so well written. The events of the book overlap some of the events in Phoenix, but it’s not necessary to have read that, other than for the great pleasure of having read it. I mention Phoenix because he is Quinn’s brother, so we have more of Boy and Girl Riley in this book, as well as most of the other Linear Tactical crew and their significant others. This story has a conclusion (the suspense element at least) that I certainly didn’t see coming, and it is definitely one to one-click.
Good Lord Almighty I absolutely loved these two. This book had funny banter, great chemistry and just enough mystery that will keep you glued to your seat not wanting it to end.
This book just like the rest in the series, was such a great read. I loved the way Baby made Quinn feel. Baby with his affection and love brought her out of her shell. His way of loving her told us just how special and great man he was. I could relate to Quinn on so many levels.
I’m baffled that this is book 9 and I’ve yet to read a book in this series that I didn’t like. Janie Crouch keeps on delivering in a BIG way proving why this might be my favorite series out there.

I loved the rest of the series and i could not wait to see more of Baby so this book more than fullfilled my expectations. Really it was excellent BUT while some other could be read as stand alone i would not recommend that for this instalment as the timeline cross with that of book 8 most is what happen after the precedent book but not all so i feel it best to be read in order.
The story is really catching your interest; and if you love dog Grizzly will win you over in no time. Baby has secret and some hurt him more than what we could imagine so it was interesting to discover them to understand him better and Quinn is simply the perfect match for him as she does believe in him and support him when he needs it.
Now Baby is still a perfect alpha and protecting the woman dear to him we see that easily but in this case it kind of felt more balanced and it was really refreshing. Now all linear tactical women are not to be taken lightly and it was great to see them all but Quinn sure has a place in the team.
the suspense is well done and teh vilains get what they deserve ..;oki i would have loved to learn her ex had to pay her back but globably this was a perfect ending. The bonus epiloge is great but it was not that necessary either i was perfectly happy after the first ending so it’s more for those wanting a glimpse in the future ( long future).
Wow, another solid five star addition to the Linear Tactical series. This is Baby, Blake Bollinger, and Quinn Harrison-Pritchard’ s story. It is finally time to see what really makes Baby ticks and what lies beneath that amazingly charming smile. I have loved his character from the beginning just as much as all the other Linear Tactical characters and was anxiously waiting to read his story. Baby surprised me, he holds onto so much and how he manages everything under wraps with the rest of the Linear Tactical crew, my hats off to him. Quinn is Boy Riley’s older step sister that has had the rug literally pulled out from under her. She leaves everything and moves to Oak Creek. Just as she feels like she has an chance at happiness, her past comes rearing. Baby is the only one to take a second look, tear it apart and put all the pieces back together but can he do it in time. I absolutely love this series, the small town world this author has created in Oak Creek and the multi-layered characters that truly capture your heart. Fantastic read!
Another winner in the A Linear Tactical Series by Ms. Crouch. Baby Is a great book with twists and turns. You have so much feelings. Laugh out loud moments. But then not so much.
Baby doesn’t mean to stand Quinn up, but it can’t be helped.
After he shared in her 39th birthday celebration things got heated.
Quinn came to Oak Creek because she wanted to have some peace and quiet, but also for a new start. Also her brother and his wife Riley lived there.
Her life was in shambles. It seemed trouble followed her there. But if not for Baby and others she wouldn’t have been ok.
Buy and see what happens.
A Spectacular Suspense Romance .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of BABY . This is book 9 in The Linear Tactical Series . Blake (Baby ) Bollinger all around nice guy and the towns best mechanic came to Quinn Harrison-Pritchards rescue on the first day of her waitressing job and their attraction was immediate . Quinn turning Thirty nine was quit abit older than Baby .Quinn lost her marriage , her job as a teacher at Harvard then black balled . She headed to the town where her brother Riley lives to hopefully collect herself . Soon she finds herself spending more and more time with Baby . When things keep happening to Quinn it will take both Baby and Linear Tactical to save Quinn . This story is a fantastic and well written story . It’s emotional and all out fabulous . So suspenseful . I really enjoyed reading it . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
As always, Janie Crouch gets your heart pumping and your adrenaline spiking in the new Linear Tactical book. At first glance, Baby and Quinn don’t seem to make good match. Their differences too vast to be able to make any kind of romantic relationship work. Well, they are an exciting couple that is able to let go and be free with one another. I love them together and they compliment each other in such an adorable and magical way.
The drama, as crazy as it is, seems to have followed Quinn from Cambridge. The troubles just keep coming and she can’t hide from her past especially, with the part-time sheriff, Gavin having some doubt of her innocence is extreme bad luck. It is making Quinn miserable and her life extra difficult. It is also making her question everything she has every thought about herself. Her bright spot is Baby and his “feelings for her are the reason for the clarity” to see the truth beyond the obvious…if it’s not too late.
I really appreciate how Ms. Crouch weaves in some extra real life concerns in her books. In Baby and Quinn’s story, Quinn is twelve years older than Baby. With her age being 39, questions of fertility, pregnancy complications and adoption are addressed with care, concern and respect.
Book 9 in the Linear Tactical Series was just as heart stopping, tear jerking, laughter inducing and most of all passion filled like all the previous books in this series. First off I’m loving the fact that Quinn is older than Baby. I say this because I myself have recently turned 40 (although I don’t feel it or look it) I’m not married or have children yet and it was refreshing reading a story where the heroine was my age!!!!!! THANK YOU JANIE for that. Baby is Finn’s little brother and just as sexy as Finn, however Baby always seems to be so fun and lighthearted but holds a deep painful secret from everyone he loves. Quinn is Boy Riley’s big sister and find herself in Oak Creek when her life explodes and implodes all at the same time. Baby may only be 27 to Quinn’s 39 but he’s most definitely wise beyond his years. Quinn is so afraid of letting loose that she doesn’t see she’s almost a statue who belongs in a museum. Baby is so wild and carefree that he might just help our Quinn to let her hair down. To Quinn she thinks because of her age there is no way the sexy Baby Bollinger would ever give her a second glance. However Baby thinks that Quinn is entirely out of his league and too smart for him. Academics doesn’t always make you intelligent, and Quinn sees how truly brilliant Baby is even if he can’t. These two have so many secrets, but is it the secrets that will keep them apart? Like with all of the Linear Tactical stories there’s always action and this one doesn’t disappoint. I LOVED IT FROM BEGINNING TO END!!!!!
Quinn is new in town hoping for a frest start to her life. Baby is the good looking mechanic and is attracted to Quinn right from the start. Quinn tries to keep her distance from him because she wants to get her life straightened out and is also several years older then him. Baby will have to work really hard to win her over but he has a secret of his own that he is not willing to share. What Quinn does not know is that the bad luck she thinks she has left behind has followed her to this new town. Baby starts to question Quinn’s bad luck and plans on looking into her mishaps and hopes he can protect her from any danger.
This was a heartwarming story with just the right amount of suspence. It was amazing to read how these two started to trust one another and revealed their deepest secrets. Baby and his friends, most of them members of Linear Tactical, have a deep trust in one another and know they can depend on each other for anything they might need and now its Baby’s turn to need them. What a great ending to a fantastic story. As with all the books by Janie once you start you can’t seem to stop, they are always first-rate page turners. Linear Tactical has been a magnificant series and I look forward to see what is in store for us in the next one.
I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Barely into the book and my heart went out to Quinn. I couldn’t even imagine trying to start over but she put on her big girl panties and did it. Being a cougar myself, I connected with Quinn being the older woman, but age is relative. If he’s the right one, nothing else matters, especially age. As with this entire series, another great book. She writes with just the right suspense, romance with some good one liners sprinkled in that will make you smile.
4.5 stars
I love the Linear Tactical series so much! Baby is book 9 and it is still going so strong. Now I do need to be honest, the younger man/older woman trope is really not my favorite, I know it’s bad because I have no problem when it is an older man/younger woman but that is just the way I feel. But there are a few authors who do an amazing job with this trope and I can now add Janie Crouch to my very small list.
We get a bit of a glimpse of Quinn and Baby in the previous book, Phoenix. Quinn happens to be Boy Riley’s older sister. There was a conversation between Boy Riley and Baby that was quite intriguing. We have also seen Baby in quite a few of the previous books in this series, he is actually the younger brother of Finn (whose book was in Eagle), so it was awesome that we get a more indepth view of the real Baby. He is so much more complex than how he had been portraying himself. His accomplishments are so inspiring. I loved watching him realize his potential and how far he has come. Then to see his friends and family rally around him was so heartwarming. Don’t get me wrong, there is definitely heart pounding suspense intertwined in their story and Baby is involved all the way.
My heart broke for all that Quinn had to endure the past few years. She came to Oak Creek to basically lick her wounds and try to figure out what she is going to do with the rest of her life. She has had a rash of such bad luck, to the point that she even started to doubt herself. Quinn is also so much more complex. Even though Quinn is 12 years Baby’s senior, she is really seen as younger, so much more innocent than Baby. Her whole adult life has been sheltered in the academic world so she really does not have the life experiences that Baby does.
I loved reading their relationship progress, they both had so many insecurities, but ultimately they were perfect for each other. The support they gave one another and the chemistry was so strong. I thoroughly enjoyed their story. I also cannot forget to give a shout out to Jess and Ethan. There two are only kids but the interaction between these two were hilarious and quite adult like. From what I understand, their story will be the last in this series and I can already tell it will be awesome! But for now, I am so looking forward to the next in this series, Redwood!
Baby
Janie Crouch
What can I say about Baby? He is a very caring person who keeps a deep dark secret that is an embarrassment to him. If people find it out, he feels that they will not think well of him. Along comes Quinn with her own issues that she is having to deal with. One issue is she is older than Baby and doesn’t want to fall for him.
Two lost souls brought together for a purpose. Will they be able to find their destiny? A definite late night read that has you not wanting to put it down until the end.
A sensitive subject that many face handled with love and grace.
My favorite of Linear Tactical Series so far.
Another page turning addition to the Linear Tactical that had me staying up past my bedtime. It was fun to read a story with a younger man/older women theme and it was handled with class. I enjoyed the way Quinn and Baby worked out their issues, with the background of a mystery that ratchets up the suspense until it comes to a head. These characters are complex and the kind you want to get their HEA. This wonderful series keeps me wanting the next book to come out. Enjoy!
We are back in Oak Creek with the men and women of LInear Tactical and their families.
Baby Bollinger is the brother of Finn, one of the founders of the group . Though not an official member, when they need extra help, the town’s mechanic is always there and is someone everybody likes and respects. But he has secrets of his own.
Quinn Harrison was a Harvard professor until her life was turned upside down. Now without a job, penniless, with a prick for an ex, and a car that barely works, she arrives to the town her brother calls home.
When she gets a job as a waitress and meets Baby, the attraction is obvious. But she is 12 years older and knows she’s a mess. None of this stops Baby from pursuing her.
But things continue to be happening that makes Quinn wonder if someone is sabotaging her or is she doing it to herself?
Though it wasn’t my favorite, it was still very good and Baby’s character was special. I quickly figured out the guilty party, but it didn’t deter from the enjoyment .
I am looking forward to the next story in the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
The book blurb got my attention and drew me in. Well, so did the name of the author. And I wasn’t disappointed.
I liked this book, it was full of surprises! Baby and Quinn couldn’t seem to be more mismatched if they tried and yet….
Quinn was trying so hard to start over but she also still had remnants of her old lifestyle of rigid professor. She was semi-famous for her hair in a bun, buttoned up appearance in her academic circles. In fact she can hardly remember the last time she had fun. Now Baby can definitely help her with that and he does. He draws people to him like bees to honey. But he’s also sincere when it comes to dealing with people. He’s not a player. He genuinely likes them and has gotten pretty good at reading people. In fact he often knows what to say because he sees what other people often miss. But don’t think that all there is to this young, handsome, discerning, charming, laughing man. Baby has a secret and I like how we find out what it is.
It was amazing that no one caught on to Quinn’s “bad luck” being more than just that. Although maybe I shouldn’t focus too much on that for at least two reasons. First- Quinn was keeping a lot of things to herself because of shame and not being believed before. Second- the person
There are plenty of other people in the cast but without overwhelming the reader. Plenty of action and mysteries going on too. There is also humor in the story. Let me point you to Baby’s response to a cupcake. It was a good one and leads to “Cupcake” being Quinn’s new nickname. Yeah, Baby and Cupcake, that did make me smile. I really liked the romance between the two M.C.’s and the Epilogue was good too.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
I knew I was going to love Baby but I didn’t realise how much I would love him. Baby was such a complex character and his development was excellent. Quinn was his perfect counterpart. I have a daughter with dyslexia and I can’t stress enough how much I loved seeing a character who developed extra coping methods to deal with his condition. My daughter has also developed excellent interpersonal skills. I think this made Baby even more real for me. My daughter was lucky and we caught her needs early but watching Baby cope made my heart hurt for him even more. Quinn was amazing in how she dealt with his revelation and how she never once made him feel stupid. She was excellent at pointing out how amazing he is with everything he had to overcome.
Anyway, I really just love these two!
I hope you all enjoy this book too.
I already can’t wait for Redwood.
