One of my favorite LT books to date!
Loved the characters so much. I don’t see how “Baby” Blake Bollinger and Dr. Quinn Harrison-Pritchard could be right for anyone else but each other. <3
A good gaslighting stalker mystery. Some great action. Steamy and emotionally satisfying. Loved it!
Oh, Baby… The Bollinger brothers have always been my favorites in this all-around fab and intense series Crouch has created, and Baby went into depths that left me speechless. The ardent romance with a touch of suspense and intensifying danger mixed with the inner struggles of the characters was marvelously written, making it unputdownable.
The older woman younger man romance was even an issue, and I loved it, cause Baby and Quinn were so well matched. They were soulmates from the first eye contact even though the author gave them the time to develop their feelings, grow into the relationship, and learn to know each other.
Both Baby and Quinn were strong, smart, and capable, yet they had weaknesses, they were vulnerable, they had secrets, making them lovable and easy to connect with. The struggles with mental health, doubts about their abilities and disability, and the gaslighting all made me want to embrace them. The author created a world of academia she obviously is very familiar with, producing a lifelike realm where she easily maneuvered the tale.
I am enamored with this story to the point that I can’t stop thinking about Baby and Quinn, the extra epilogue that pre-orders get had me in tears…
A must-read addition to one of my favorite series, a story not be missed!
~ Five Spoons!
This is another great book by Janie Crouch. I love all books by Janie Crouch, I know I probably say that everytime I do a review but her books are awesome. I love all the guys in the Linear Tactical book series, but Baby (Blake Bollinger ) is one of my favorites. Baby and Quinn are great together. There is an age difference, but age is just a number. “The heart wants what the heart wants.” Baby and Quinn’s hearts want each other. And they are so good together. This is a 5-star read from start to finish. I got this book as an ARC for my honest review.
A long awaited book by Janie Crouch does not disappoint. The characters were true to life with deep personal issues they never shared with anyone. Until they began trusting each other. Baby’s secret while shocking to us book-a-holics, is truly endearing and will make you fall in love with Baby all over again. The love story between these two is heartwarming. In his own story we are a different side of Baby. A side he’s kept hidden from his Linear Tactical family. Well done Ms. Crouch letting your readers finally see the type of man Baby truly is while falling in love.
Wow. Amazing. Baby is no baby. He’s sexy and charming and perfect for Quinn Harrison-Pritchard. Quinn, if she didn’t have bad luck, she’d have no luck at all. Marriage, gone; Career in Ivy League College, gone; money, gone. Moving was her only option, finding Baby was a burst for her ego. I loved the mystery and suspense and romance in this book. All the characters are wonderfully developed and the Linear Tactical Group is one big supportive family. I love this book and the series and highly recommend each and every one.
Loved ‘Baby’ or Blake. He is adorable and so wise beyond his years and always the person to count on. Love how he is always there for everyone. And has really flourished in the previous books. Poor Quinn. She is so smart and has been hurt and taken advantage of. He was so sweet to her. He helped break her out the her shell. Loved grizzly and how protective he was of Quinn. Always love when the crew comes together to save the day. Yay for that epilogue. So sweet and can’t wait for next book. **One of the only things I didn’t like about the book was how Peter was dealt with. Yes he apologized (sorry minor spoiler) but he should be required to return what he stole. That was BS. And so pretentious of him to help ‘save her from herself’ by stealing her money. Screw that.
Overall the story is okay, but Quinn’s age is brought too much. I understood Quinn’s insecurities but she needed to loosen up and appreciate Baby’s loyalty and the fact Baby wants to be with her. I had everything figured out pretty early in the story, I was okay with that, I kept reading to see if I was right about things and I was. I really enjoyed the bonus epilogue. I read on Kindle Unlimited.
What a heart racing, scary, life changing romance with more things happening than my poor mind and heart could deal with. Grab your seats and get ready to take a BIG ROLLERCOASTER RIDE. Then get ready for more live than you will ever find. Lived it!! I volunteered an honest opinion for this book.
This book’s storyline was okay. I liked the updates on all the LT members. I loved the kids scenes. I liked the hot & steamy scenes. Baby’s character was okay. Quinn’s character was okay. The ending was okay.
This book was very good. This serie is one of my all time favorite.Usually I am not into age gaps but this was excelent.Blake (Baby) and Quinn have sparks straight away and their sizzling hot chemistry was so intes,I got goosebumbs (good way).I loved how their relationship developed and how true love runs it’s course.I cannot wait next book.
I absolutely love this book. It had the suspense I desire along with all the emotions. I laughed and I cried. I can’t wait for future books.
Been waiting for Baby’s story. Baby is the youngest brother to Finn. Baby is someone everyone wants in their life’s. But, He holds a secret that no one knows about. He meets Quinn who is older then him and trouble seems to follow her. Quinn and Baby seem to get and understand each other when other’s can’t see them for who they are. Can Quinn get over the age difference? Can Baby help her find out who’s out to get her? There’s danger suspense and action. Glad to see Baby get his book.
Baby is different from all the other Linear Tactical guys, he’s the youngest and the “fun” guy. They don’t really know him. Somehow Quinn gets under his skin and she figures him out without even trying. “The secrets we keep control us. If you want to take back control, then get rid of the secret.” How true. Baby had a secret and he exposed it and no one thought let of him, in fact, they all wanted to help. That’s what happens when you trust in your family and friends. I love the interaction of all the characters in this series and I’ve been following it since the beginning. This is a great series and even a better re-read me series.
Highly recommend.
Tis book is in Ms. Crouch’s Linear Tactical series. I enjoyed it very much.
Baby is the younger brother of one of the founders of Linear Tactical. He has grown up in Oak Creek. Everyone knows him and loves him.
Quinn has no where else to go, so she moves to Oak Creek where her brother Riley works for Linear Tactical. But she is embarrassed for him to find out she has been fired and blacklisted, so she is reluctant to contact him. She just wants to liv near him.
Quinn gets by on two part-time jobs: one as a waitress and one as an adjunct professor at the local college. She meets Baby at her waitressing job. Baby runs a mechanic’s shop. It is all he ever wanted, but his secrets threaten his ownership of the shop. Quinn’s past threatens her life.
In typical Linear Tactical fashion, Ms. Crouch is able to resolve the problems satisfactorily. Quinn and Baby help each other as they fall in love.
I recommend this book.
I’ve been waiting since the beginning for Baby to have his story. He’s been the strong silent type hovering in the back ground but always someone to depend on. Quinn is his polar opposite at least on paper. As always Ms Crouch creates wonderful characters who seem absolutely real. It’s been a joy to follow this series from the beginning. Its great how Ms Crouch has characters from past books and hints of ones to come in all her stories, allowing the reader to keep up with them as well as an insight into what is next. This book and in fact the entire series is a must for all romantic suspense fans.
I read this book in one sitting. And yes, it was that good! I love being back in Oak Creek with the Linear Tactical team, their friends, and family. Baby is Finn and Wavy Bollinger’s brother and the town’s famous mechanic. Quinn Harrison is Boy Riley (Phoenix)’s half sister, who we met briefly hear about in the end of Phoenix’s book. Baby (aka Blake Bollinger) and Quinn’s story is fantastic and I love love love the ending!! Its heartwarming, heartbreaking at times, and suspenseful- everything I love in a book. I loved how they seemed to instantly have a connection that turned into so much passion for each other. You get see how they both help each other overcome personal obstacles. The LT women gave Quinn the infamous girl’s night and I love that so much! I don’t want to give anything away so if you are on the fence about reading this book, just go right ahead and one click or get it on KU. You will not regret it! If you haven’t read any of the other Linear Tactical books, you need to because you are missing out!!!
What a great book! I loved it and would give it more than 5 stars if I could. I recently reread it and loved it even more.
Baby was such a wonderful man, always helping others. But never let them see that he had problems of his own. I was so happy when he found love. Quinn couldn’t believe it when Baby started pursuing her. Not only was she older than him, but she also didn’t have a job and was broke. Why would he love her? Because she’s beautiful, intelligent and a good person, that’s why.
Not only is this a wonderful romance, but also a great mystery that will have you guessing right to the end.
If you want romantic suspense with all the feels, this is it.
I can’t tell you how glad I am to have gotten an ARC of this book for review consideration. This is a wonderful story and I highly recommend it.
4.25 stars–BABY is the ninth instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult LINEAR TACTICAL erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Linear Tactical. This is twenty-seven year old, auto mechanic / part time Linear Tactical specialist Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger, and thirty-nine year old, professor /waitress Dr. Quinn Harrison-Pritchard’s story line. BABY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Some of the events of BABY cross-over with the events of book eight PHOENIX.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Quinn and Baby) BABY follows the building relationship between twenty-seven year old, auto mechanic / part time Linear Tactical specialist Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger, and thirty-nine year old, professor /waitress Dr. Quinn Harrison-Pritchard. Quinn Harrison’s arrival in Oak Creek brings with it all sorts of problems. Divorced, broke and blacklisted by the university for which she used to work, Quinn struggles daily to survive. Meeting Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger is all kinds of wrong when our heroine discovers that the man who is about to steal her heart is a student at the local college, a college for which she is currently teaching. For the past two years everything that could have happened, happened to Quinn Harrison, and the accidents and questionable events continue with her arrival in Oak Creek, the town in which her brother, Linear Tactical owner Riley ‘Phoenix’ Harrison currently resides. Trying to keep her whereabouts secret is increasingly difficult as not only do the police want to question Quinn about a series of events, but her arrival continues to draw red flags wherever she goes. When the ‘accidents’ begin to take on a familiar pattern, Baby calls in the Linear Tactical team in an effort to uncover the truth about what is happening and why. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Baby and Quinn, and the potential fall-out as Quinn’s past is determined to take down our story line heroine.
Quinn Harrison-Pritchard is Riley Boy’s sister but our heroine keeps secrets everything that happened including her arrival in the town of Oak Creek but the town gossips spread rumors faster than an out of control fire, gossip that increases with the number of questionable incidences pointed at our story line heroine. Blake ‘Baby’ Bollinger is a high-school drop out but is focusing on making his place in the world. Baby Bollinger is also keeping secrets, a secret that is about to upend his well-ordered world.
The relationship between Baby and Quinn is one of immediate attraction but Quinn struggles with their age difference, and the tainted past that continues to threaten her sanity and peace. Baby knows Quinn is the woman he loves but as Quinn’s life continues to spiral out of control Baby must uncover the truth before Quinn is lost to our hero, forever. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Most of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Zac and Annie (Cyclone #1), Finn and Charlotte (Eagle #2), Shamrock (Aiden & Violet #), Angel (Gabriel & Jordan 4), Ghost (Dorian), Echo (Cade & Peyton), officer Gavin Zimmerman, as well as café owner Lexi Johnson. Baby’s nieces and nephews are good for a couple of chuckles and ‘poo’. Gavin and Lexi’s storyline is next in Redwood.
BABY is a startling story of vengeance and retaliation, relationships, family, secrets and love. The character driven premise is suspense filled and edgy; the characters are energetic and edgy; the romance is tender and seductive. BABY is a passionate and fated story of second chances and happily ever after.
I have read all in this series and this one means a lot to me. My younger sister has dyslexia and it was very difficult for her to read and write, she was even called stupid by a kindergarten teacher. She is now getting a doctorate degree. I feel so much for Baby. I understand what he must have went through. I love that he found a way to adapt and found someone who loved and wanted to help him so much. I also enjoyed the fact that her age didn’t matter to him and the struggle she has with it. The whole mystery was great and kept you going. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I have read this series through the author’s ARC program and I am a fan. The one thing that I enjoy about her style is how the stories from one book to the other are going on simultaneously. In this story, Quinn and Baby meet during the prior book Phoenix and the end of the story from that book are happening at the beginning of this book Baby. If you have read any of the series, Baby is introduced as the local mechanic and all-around great guy, whose brother and other family friends have started the security firm, Linear Tactical. In fact, since it is his book, we have Baby’s view of what was going on while Phoenix and the others from Linear Tactical were off on their mission.
So, this is the story of Quinn, a former Harvard professor that due to some unbelievably bad luck has ended up penniless and living in Wyoming. Since she is Phoenix’s sister, she decided to hide out/start anew in this small town of Oak Creek Wyoming. At the opening of the book she is interviewing for a waitressing job at a local bar. As the story continues, she also starts working at the local Teton State College. Although there is an attraction, Quinn is concerned about the difference in their lives and especially their age difference.
In general, it is a really good story with the romance between Quinn and Baby, along with the mystery part about Quinn’s past and what has followed her from Massachusetts. I enjoyed trying to figure out what was happening and how they were going to solve it. My main issue with the book is that Quinn is constantly comparing Wyoming to Harvard and complaining about it. If she is supposed to be so smart, you would think she would have figured out that there would be an adjustment, but I guess since we hear her thoughts, it got to be too much for me. I understand there should be some “fish out of water” aspects but I thought it went on a little too long. Ended up liking them as a couple and I appreciated that they seemed to recognize each other’s issues in ways no one else did.
