Rule #1: Always wear a condom.Rule #2: Always leave them wanting more.Rule #3: Always man up. Erica Roberts was the maid of honor in my brother’s wedding and my next conquest. She was tone, tan, and sweet as pie. I should’ve known I’d end up breaking her heart. Still, against my better judgement I took her, giving us both the best night of our lives. When I woke up the next morning she was gone, … When I woke up the next morning she was gone, not a trace of what had happened between us, and I realized then I broke my number one rule: Always use a condom.
Two months later I get a text telling me I’m going to be a father. I feel a number of emotions, elation, fear, excitement, anger, but then she drops the biggest bomb on me. She says she doesn’t need me or want me. Now I’ve got to do whatever I can to keep us from falling apart. She doesn’t think I want the baby or can be a good father, while she’s about to find out just the kind of man I am.

This is a sweet and romantic story that i devour in one sitting.
Rhett(The Player) and Erica(The School Teacher) have a one hot night stand that results in a not-so-plan pregnancy. Both of them are face with the reality of becoming parents and they go trough this journey that brings them together, having the chance to really learn about each other in a more meaningful way. I really love Rhett’s character because he did a complete flip from being a player to becoming this amazing and caring person, he definitely stole my hearth.
J. l. Beck and C.Hallman have done it again bringing us with this amazing story that I must recommend reading.
The well written storyline and the well created characters made this book a very enjoyable read! The interaction between Erica and Rhett kept me totally enthralled until the turn of the very last page!
It’s a good story. Rhett and Erica have a hot wedding hook up. Erica ends up pregnant. It’s a struggle because Rhett is a playboy and Erica is just starting a career. They have to learn about each other and how to care for a baby. It’s a general romance. It’s very sweet and a really good read. I’d read more of this authors stuff most definitely.

My heart is SWOONING! This book was the cutest thing I’ve read. I absolutely loved how unconventional Rhett and Ericas story was but also how perfect it was for them. The whole time I was reading I just kept saying it was faith that they met. They were meant to be soulmates even before they knew it themselves I loved their unconditional story, their love and how beautiful their lives turned out. Loved loved loved this!!

This book was a step out of my comfort zone. I usually don’t want to read anything baby-related, yet I signed up for it because I like the Beck & Hallman duo a lot! I knew that this was unlike anything I’ve read by them and I wanted to see how they managed. I wasn’t disappointed! It was a lovely read with all the feels. Rhett was cute as hell while he tried to navigate his way into parenthood! I love how the authors made Erica a teacher and how they presented the teacher struggle in the US. Of course, the steamy scenes were top notch. I read this book in one go and it gave me all the happy butterfly flutter feels! If you’re looking for something light, cute & entertaining, this is for you.
I ended up loving this story. There are lots of feels in this story. The characters were well developed and easy to relate to. Everyone has fears and worries and sometimes you have to lean on those around you to get through them.
Erica is a teacher and the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding. Erica is also looking to have some fun and felt like she didn’t have time for anything real, so she decided to flirt with Rhett. She knows that Rhett was the typical good looking, single guy playboy that was just out for a good time and she decided that was ok with her. Until the next morning…
Rhett had met Erica a few times, but seeing her at his brother’s wedding to Erica’s best friend had him deciding that she was his next conquest. Despite his brother’s warning, they slipped away and ended up having the best night of their lives. The next morning Erika has gone and Rhett realized that they hadn’t used any condoms. Two months later he gets a call from Erika telling him that she is pregnant. Rhett is shocked and all kinds of emotions run through him but before he can process them, she tells him she doesn’t need him or want him. Now he’s got to do whatever he can to prove to Erika that he can be a good father and that he wants the baby.
They did everything out of order for a “normal” relationship, but somehow it worked for them. I loved how they worked together to get where they needed to be. Their happy ever after made me happy. I definitely recommend reading this book.

4.5 Stars
This is an absolutely beautiful love story. I enjoyed the role reversal between the Rhett and Erica. Although there aren’t a lot of sex scenes the ones that were there were great. I could always enjoy more but that’s just me.
3 1/2 Stars
Rhett was a major player and had indiscriminate sex all the time. Even though he was warned to stay away from his sister in law’s best friend, he was such a hound dog that he did what he usually did. A one night stand that was memorable turned into a surprise pregnancy that Erika was willing to handle solo. That might have been the catalyst to Rhett’s intense focus to convince Erika that he was reliable daddy material.
I did not like the way he almost hooked up twice with two other women during his separation with Erika.
This storyline focused on the backwards relationship that grew slowly between this couple. It kind of showed how they probably would not have ended up together if not for the pregnancy. Rhett hadn’t called or checked up on Erika after their hookup even though he had the connections to find out her number.
A slow burn, slow build relationship that was well written and developed although it lacked the urgent intensity that I look for in a romance.

I have never been one to think that every rule will always be followed and I am thrilled that Rhett managed to break at least one of his. Rhett and Erica have some amazingly written chemistry. And the story literally broke my heart at times, but the authors managed to put it back together by the end. I really didn’t know what I was expecting when I started this book, but this tale blew any expectations I had out of the water. I will definitely be looking for more books from these authors.

I liked this book. The story was a bit sweet and a lot heartfelt. Regardless of how Rhett starts out, he turns into a genuine good guy. Erica was only an OK character for me. I was not a fan of her actions or attitude toward Rhett. All and all though, this is a cute, emotional and easy to read romance. This is my frank, freely posted review.
This story is a good romance throughout. It has some twists and turns, but the storyline is solid and the characters are quite good. The leading male seems sometimes to be a bit neurotic, but that is part of his character. Overall the story is good and it is enjoyable to read it and so I can happily give this story beautiful four stars.

Babies & Promises had everything I want in a book. The flirting and teasing that happens when they meet, their hook up, their “oops” moment and the understanding they come to. Erica and Rhett have an explosive one-night stand that will tie them together for the next eighteen years. The author does a wonderful job in showing the emotions and struggles women face when they discover they are pregnant. They also bring in a man who will take responsibility for his actions. Rhett is supportive and does everything he can think of to understand what Erica is going through. I love when the hero wants to solve our heroine’s problems but realizes she doesn’t always need a problem to be fixed. Babies & Promises is the best surprise baby romance so far in 2020.
HEARTFELT EMOTIONS!
A touching read that is incredibly gripping. I felt sad, giddy, irritated and flushed from the warm sexy chemistry that definitely awoke a thirst for more. A well executed storyline that kept the pages flowing making me feel every heartfelt emotion from one intense page to the next.

This was a bit hard for me to get into, I personally am not a fan of Erica but I know others will be. I did like Rhett a lot and seeing him grow in the book was great.
The pacing was a bit of a hard adjust to me.
Love the Epilogue!
Babies & Promises by Jenna Reed
I found Babies & Promises a beautiful captivating heart warming sweet romance. Rhett and Erica’s one night of hot steamy sex was memorable in more ways than one when several months later a trip to her doctor reveals she’s pregnant. She’s knows he’s a player likes his life and his views on marriage and children so at first wasn’t even going to tell him until her bestfriend Sophia convinces her that wouldn’t be fair to him. Rhett surprised, shocked at first steps up and accepts his responsibilities and demands to be apart of the baby’s life. She’s struggling to believe he will stick around in the long run. He is determined to prove he has changed. Their journey is full of ups, downs, emotional highs and lows as they discover what life will be like as they bring a new life into the world. It was truly an amazing book that had me laughing, crying, screaming and jumping for joy. I would love to see many more books with the other characters we met in this wonderful world.
Five beautiful emotional
Enjoyable, sweet, sexy and heartwarming
Another playboy brought to his senses by a very hard slap of reality. And heroine who discovered that being adventurous is not always the best way to let go. I loved this story so much. It’s light, it’s sexy, it’s sweet and was very easy to read. It was a pleasure to read it and I really felt entertained and spent a good time with the main characters. Would love to read more about the heroine’s brothers in the future. Wonder what kind of adventure stands on their way.
*Spoiler Alert*
When Erica (FMC) ends up bedding the player, Best man and brother of the groom – Rhett at her best friends wedding she ends up with more than just happy memories. I couldnt help but like both of these characters. Well it took me a little while to warm up to Rhett but by the middle of the book i really wanted both of the characters to sort out their differences and get together. Such a sweet, romantic story though and i really enjoyed reading it. A great read
The story was really good, however, Erica was harder to relate to. She tended to doubt Rhett at every point in the road. She acted like she was so much more stable than anyone else was. But as the story progressed she did develop into herself wonderfully. Rhett was great with his personality and charm. I would have liked to see him a little more assertive but otherwise he was fantastic. The writing was beautifully developed and I loved the support characters as they added so much to the story.
Erica Roberts wanted a night of strings-free fun, a night to let go and just enjoy herself… and Rhett was the perfect man for the job. He doesn’t do forever, he is gorgeous, and has a reputation to leave the ladies thoroughly satisfied.
Their night together couldn’t have been more perfect… well except maybe the two pink lines that showed up two months after!
Babies and Promises is a wonderfully penned romance that will inspire swoons and leave the heart all warm and toasty. These two thought they had stumbled onto the perfect night of fun, but they got so wrapped up in things that they forgot one important detail. And fortunately for them that “little detail” is about to give them everything they never knew they needed or wanted. This one was a fun read to settle down with, it kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Nothing says entertaining quite like an unexpected baby, a man that is allergic to commitments, and the woman who manages to sneak past all his defenses! Their story was so good on the heart!! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Rhett and Erica do things in the wrong order. They have a baby first. No dates no relationship nothing. They met at Rhett’s brothers wedding. As he was getting married to Erica’s best friend she was the bridesmaid. One night thing. That’s it. Or was supposed to be.
Erica is the epitome of independent woman. She likes her life and doing things in her terms. Rhett is a confirmed bachelor and lives for the book ups. His next conquest so to speak.
When time goes by and Erica finds out she’s pregnant she freaks but handles it. Rhett’s number three rule; Man up. Do what you’re supposed to. When he finds out Erica is pregnant he mans up. He’s there for her all the way. What neither counted on was their connection to the other not just the baby.
Emotions that neither are used to surface but when you’re sure you don’t want a relationship, you don’t know what’s next. As the baby gets closer to coming they get closer. Co-parent. That was the deal, but those pesky emotions. After a while they can’t deny it even though they’re trying to.
This book runs the gamut of emotions and angst. Rhett and Erica take you on a journey with them. You almost live the book you feel it so much. It’s chock fill of feels. From start to finish you’re invested. Another good book by this author.
