Quick paranormal read
The biggest flaw in this book is the erroneous description of a ruby earring that blended into the grass. Rubies are red. Emeralds are green. It would have been fine if it was a one off, but the earring is mentioned several times throughout the book so it should have been changed from ruby to emerald. Seems like an easy enough fix. Aside from that, it was a fast moving and simple investigation between a witch and her human boyfriend who happens to be a detective.
What has Meg all shaken up in this second story? What do we learn about Connor in this story? What good thing has happened for or to Liz in this story? Who are Jocelyn and Ethan? What do they each do for a living? What does Ethan have to do with what happens if anything? Oh, shocking on who gets murdered in this story! The question is who and why? Who is the 1st suspect Connor talks to and why? How does Meg take it? Oh, I did NOT see that guilty party coming!!! I suspected someone else from the get go, boy was I wrong! Read and see who did the deed!

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Lainie Pahos
This narrator has a pleasant voice and delivery making this story an enjoyable listen, it’s a shame that half the story is a paste of book 1 in this series.
Connor and Meg are a likeable couple, unfortunately this book is almost exactly the same as the first book, word for word in places.
Again as in book 1 there is a repeated line that should have been picked up in editing.
AX TO GRIND is the second book in the Witches of Enchanted Bay series. These are best read in the order of release.
This is a fun and quick read/ listen that is perfect for road-trips with the family. You don’t have to worry about foul language or over-taxing who-dunnits… just fun clues from a non-fat donut (sic) making witch and her detective boyfriend.
Could I please have the recipe – or secret power – to make the no-calorie treats?
I love reading everything from Dr. Seuss to Mr. Grey. I enjoy books like this when I want to just relax. Suspend reality – after all how is one play written decades ago going to support the playwright, a theater, and all of the actors for all of those years in a small town – and enjoy this cozy witch mystery.
Narration: Lainie Pahos is a sweet narrator. Her name on a book is a reason to pick it up.
