NYXI didn’t know I was so set on truths until I realized my whole life was a lie.Being banished to Arcadia Prep. The myths we thought were just empty threats meant to iron out bad behavior. All of it was a neatly packaged lie. Hell raged in the pit of my stomach and now we were free to wreak havoc on humanity.LUNAThe truth was simple: I was a good girl meant to heal the wounded and help uphold the … heal the wounded and help uphold the truth.
I’m the one who tore the truth down.
I stomped on it and set it on fire.
I did everything that didn’t add up to the me I cultivated.
I was a perfectly packaged lie.

Before you reach for this story, you need to read Awful Curse book first because we enter to the Awful Intensions story where the previous ends. I was eagerly awaiting for Nyx and Luna story as soon as I met them in book one and it was so worth the wait for their dark story with sizzling relationship. Luna was lost and trying to find herself after tragic incidents in Awful Curse. Nyx was the most thrilling hero for me in previous book and I loved him even more in this one where I could discover his other side. He is my favorite male character from Celestial Bodies series so far. Together they’re like thunder and lightning causing huge storm around each other with their lust and desire but still they hiding their true feeling toward each other. I was reading with thrilling excitement when they challenged each other back and forth every day. I loved how they emotionally collided with one another. I was totally hooked by the plot. It pulled me in from the very beginning and I just couldn’t put it down, so curious what’ll happen next. I loved whole mystery in the story. Author created amazing world of Greek and mythology mixed with young adult romance and complex heroes where I could stay with them forever. Can’t wait for more of Elena Monroe stories.
Awful Intentions by Elena Monroe is book 2 in the celestial Bodies Series. This one focuses on Nyx and Luna who we met in the first book and takes us on a journey through the past and the present with a few new additions thrown in to mix up the story.
If you’ve read the last book you know that there was a cliff-hanger that ended with the ritual not going the way the gang thought it was going too. After the ritual, Luna is left in a kind of limbo where she is neither good nor bad. She struggles to be her true self and find her balance whilst trying to keep Nyx close whilst at the same time, pushing him away. Within this drama she meets a man called Dorian and everything changes, becoming really complex.
Throughout this we see the brooding Nyx fighting his feelings for Luna, whilst seeing Luna’s true self and being somewhat angry that she is choosing to be with someone else. For Nyx, there seems to be a lot of complicated feelings when it comes to Luna because of his past with Arianne, but he does tell her exactly what he wants from her and he wont settle for less.
Nyx and Luna together are powerful, sexy and strong and it takes both characters some hurdles to come together as a King and Queen. Luna’s lack of faith in herself is poignant and sad as she balances what being with Nyx would be like in comparison to Dorian. And scenes between her and Nyx are complex, sexy and at times absolutely frustrating!
This book is complex as there are a lot of characters in the book that have their own tales and dramas but it is weaved together magically so you are transported into the life of past Gods & Goddesses whose place on the chess board has changed dramatically. There is such a bond between each of the characters (whether they agree with them or not) and it seems exceptionally strong in this book due to the failure of the ritual.
This book is full of different POV’s, drama, angst and suspense which will keep you turning the pages to get to the end to figure out what is going to happen…which you’ll have to wait to find out in the next installment

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review

I didn’t’ think it would be possible to top Awful Curse, but boy does this one do it. I loved the bits and pieces of Nyx and Luna in the first book, so I was super excited to get more of them. I love the mix of mythology in this story and the modern take on it.
It’s hard not to love Nyx, especially if the alpha bad boy is your type. However, there is more much more to him. Luna, I love her. She is strong woman, despite being frustrating at times. The two of them together is truly beautiful and their chemistry is off the charts. These two are so perfect for each other.
This story is beautifully written, full of twists and turns. It’s one where you sit down to start it and you will not move until you reach the final word. It completely sucks you in and captivates you. Seriously, whether you’re a fan of mythology/fantasy or not this is one book and series that I’d highly recommend.
Awful Intentions far surpassed any expectations that I had for the sequel to Awful Curse. Though I am Team Bolton/Arianna, I fell for bad boy Nyx and his not so good girl Luna. Monroe has built such a dynamic world with interesting characters that drove the plot forward.
I cannot talk enough about how much I love Nyx. The son of Hades and Persephone with the softest heart for the girl he believes he can never have. Everything he touches turns bad and he fears tainting the brightest light. His hard edges and deep possession for his Cancer make him the deadliest God you will ever come across.
Sweet, sweet Luna… or should I say bad? Following the events that freed the Gods from Arcadia, Luna begins to feel driven by selfish needs. Luna has spent her life as an empath, focusing on how others feel and catering to their interests. No longer centered around always trying to please others, Luna must come to terms with the new her. The good mixed with the bad. But doesn’t she know that being bad is better?
My love for this Elena Monroe work of art centers around her characters. They aren’t entirely good or entirely evil. They are fatally flawed and complex. She doesn’t treat them with kid gloves and a shiny HEA, they are put through the ringer and must be strong enough to come out the other side. Awful Intentions brought me action, suspense, sexy Gods and a burning need for more.

This series just keeps getting better. Book one left me unsure of where everything was heading, but this one? This one cleared up everything for me.
Don’t be mistaken, the journey is definitely not over, there’s still a ton left for us to figure out, dangers lurking, memories to be unraveled.
But this one, Nyx & Luna, I’m pleased as punch with their story. Finding the balance in good and bad, working through whether or not they could really be together….. this left me in such a good place.
I have my eye on a certain girl with lots of suitors now, and am super intrigued by where her story is going.
And that ending? I’m watching you!
Definitely a must read.
I’ve read books by this author before and I’ve really enjoyed them. This book is book #2 in the series, Celestial Bodies #2. I absolutely loved reading the first book in this series and I couldn’t wait to read this one and it doesn’t disappoint its awesome. It continues on from the first book and the story really flows its awesome.
Nyx is a total alpha male bad boy type but he is a very loyal man who’d do anything for her, anything and when they are both together its mind destroying you cant get enough of them both. He tries to be understanding and she’s pushing him away.
Luna was a beautiful girl that has had things quite tough and is a really strong soul and I really liked her but she can be very frustrating in how she is and what she does. She needs to get things straight in her mind because I think she knows who she’s meant to be with and she needs to wake up to it.
This author has written this book so beautiful and the world building is fantastic, I couldn’t put it down, I couldn’t take my eyes of of the pages. This book does have aspects of mythology but it totally goes with the story and the romance is so great that they are totally soulmates forever.
This author always writes fantastic characters in her books and you cant get enough of them. They have both had things pretty tough in there lives and the past is always there and the struggles that they go through is sometimes hard. The chemistry between them both is electrifying and this is truly one couple that is defiantly meant to be.
This book has twists, turns and shockers that the reader will not see coming and this book will keep you hooked and keep you guessing right until the very end. I love that it is told from different points of view too I always prefer that. Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book. ARC provided in exchange for a honest voluntary review. This is a great book a real must read.
This book is expected to be released on 22nd May 2020.
“If the world views Zeus as God and Hades as the Devil, what did that make me?
Your worst nightmare.”
If there was ever a book that deserved more than 5 stars Awful Intentions would be it! Elena absolutely killed it with this book!
I LOVED Nyx and Luna! And this book fits them so perfectly! It’s dark, gritty and and so raw. Awful Intentions isn’t just a book, it’s an entire experience!
Coming from someone who typically doesn’t read fantasy type books, this book was everything. In fact the entire Celestial Bodies series so far has been out of this world.
Theres so much more that I could say about how incredible this book is but the more I say, the more I feel it ruins your true reading experience. So go in with an open mind and an open heart and I promise you that you’ll fall in love with Nyx just as hard as I did.
Elena has created such a powerful story with her Celestial Bodies series and I for one can’t wait for more!
Once again Elena Monroe effectively renders me speechless. This book was chalked full of intriguing storylines, brilliantly developed and thought out characters, and incredibly captivating writing that can’t be matched!
This book picks up where Awful Curse left off, but centers around Nyx and Luna. I am in awe of everything that is Luna. She is a perfect mix of good and bad. She is not one or the other, she is perfectly imperfect and completely herself. She is kind and a healer, but she is also fiercely loyal and bad to the bone.
“Where the light ends, the dark starts. Now, I’m just well balanced.”
And Nyx, goodness gracious! I wasn’t sure if Elena was going to be able to top Bolton…but damn did she! I will bow down and pledge my loyalty to Nyx any day any time. This man is the silent but deadly type and his love and loyalty for Luna knows no bounds. Together they are a perfect storm. Each accepting and embracing the others ‘flaws’. Each reveling in the others chaos but also in each other’s calm. They balance each other and understand each other like no other.
“A king without a queen is simply a man on a power trip. A king always needs a queen to anchor down his crown.”
This story blends together the perfect mix of astrology and Greek mythology. But it is so much more! It’s thrilling to the point I was on the edge of my seat while reading. It was romantic to the point I was swooning where I sat. It was gritty and raw creating a mix of realness, vulnerability and imperfection. This book had it all! I am absolutely in love with this story. Elena Monroe exceeded any and all expectation I had for this story. Nyx and Luna are everything! This entire cast of characters and words Elena so magical creates brings this story to life like the words are playing on screen in front of my eyes.
Absolutely brilliant!!
