After leaving the main Mother Ship centuries ago to make a genetic trade with a massive … to make a genetic trade with a massive race of people, they are thirty percent bigger than their ancestors. Which makes them 9 feet tall—giants to regular sized humanoids. Hundreds of years after the genetic trade which made them so huge, the Jor’gen Kindred have no more females and are seeking a new people to trade with–
All but Calden
Believing he doesn’t need a female in his life to be happy, Calden moves to the Mentat Space Station to devote his life to biological research through cloning. The Station is ruled by a harsh taskmaster–an AI called FATHER who forbids any females. But Calden doesn’t care, as long as he is allowed to clone and study as many specimens as he wants.
Then one day, the recovery droids find something new–the remains of a sentient human female and the ship she crashed in. Consumed by scientific curiosity, Calden gets special permission to make a clone of the dead woman–he doesn’t know she will cause him to break the rules and risk his career and even death…when he falls in love with her.
Madeline Harris has no idea what’s going on. She wakes up in a vat of green goo with her memories fractured, surrounded by the big, scary Mentats of the Station. Then a giant comes to save her. It doesn’t take much for her to fall for Calden but she doesn’t realize that the station is a hostile place for women…or that she could be in big trouble if the AI, FATHER, discovers how very much Calden cares for her in return.
Will they escape the Mentat Station in time to save Maddy’s life? And will she ever forgive Calden for keeping deadly secrets from her?

Fun, short sexy read. As with most of the books in this series, the romance follows the exact same formula as everything else in this universe.
Still I keep reading and stay entertaining.
Evangeline always does an amazing job when it comes to writing this series. Each book has been amazing. I truly loved this story.
Caden who was a Jor’gen Kindred had no faith no desire to find love. I found that sad. I love how no matter how much the kindreds at time loose faith that the goddess never looses faith in them.
I tried to put myself in Maddy’s shoes. I could not imagine being clone. If I ever found out would I be mad or thankful. I would like to think I would be thankful.
Caden and Maddy will have their challenges a head of them. I love how Caden is welling to meet those challenges head on for the woman he loves.
This was an awesome story a glad I got a chance to read the book.
I am a big fan of the Kindred but this was not one of my favorite books. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the two man characters.
Amazing and so much fun to read. A new kind of Kindred! He has decided to devote his life to learning and forsaking the chance to find his mate. Well the goddess definitely has different plans for him even if he doesn’t believe in her. All Kindred are devoted to making their female happy and protecting their mate and all females. So can a scientist look at her as only a specimen and not feel the pull to protect her. I have to say I loved the big lug. And the human female is definitely a new twist with her. Expect hotness and some males who need to learn to respect females. Always have and always will love this Kindred series.
Calden is a Jor’gen kindred who specializes in biological research which involves cloning.
Maddy awakens in his lab not remembering the events leading up to her being there. As her memories slowly return, she and Calden become attracted to each other.
Others on the station are not happy with the female and tensions quickly escalate until it is too dangerous to stay.
A hot, sexy and emotionally heartfelt read that is highly recommended!
