I really enjoyed Book 2 in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. I picked up right where the first book ended and takes you on a crazy roller coaster ride of events and emotions. Ariya wants to protect her Protectors and therefore doesn’t always think her decisions through. This causes much stress to James, Nick and Caroline and puts Ariya is a bad situation. This series has vampires, werewolves, white witches and who knows what else might turn up before the end.
I’m loving the characters and think the author has done a great job of making them real for me. Even with all the crazy things going on Riley still lightens the mood. This series really flows well for me. I couldn’t wait to jump right into the 3rd book and you should too.
I’ll tell you the truth, I didn’t expect this book to be that good because I hate second volumes. Well, this book exceeded my expectations.
The second book picks up after the battle with the werewolves and the death of Ariya’s evil ancestor. The story narrates the coming back to school and everything but the unexpected happens when Ariya is kidnapped…voluntarily. Of course, she did it only to protect the ones she loves.
It was an interesting book, especially because you live Ariya’s pain and sadness in the days after she almost lost her sanity. If you’re into paranormal romance, give it a go. It’s a captivating read! Don’t forget to leave a review.
Note: there is some violent and explicit sexual contest.

Wow, what can I say about this storyline. It’s absolutely incredible. So innovative and inventive. The author writes with so much imagination but somehow still manages to create some realism so that you feel the book is happening right now. The world building is something else and I loved this book as much as the first, maybe a little more so. The characters were great to get to know. This story has everything you could want. Action, romance, mystery and so much more. I am now a complete fan of this author and cannot wait to read more of what they have wriiten.
Everyone is back together in this fast paced, action packed must read! Ariya and her Protectors are faced with all sorts of challenges upon arriving back to school after Winter Break. With Emma out if the picture, will Ariya and James have a chance to make their relationship work?
The theme of the first book, Protected, focused on friendship; the theme of this book is love! (I’m such a sappy romantic!) The confusing emotions between Ariya, James, and Riley are too much for one person to handle. In order to protect the ones you love, Ariya has to make several very difficult decisions. How will James and Riley ever forgive her?
“If I ignore him, whoever might be watching won’t know he’s my friend, and then maybe he won’t get hurt.”
“You’re my everything.”
“There will never come a day that I don’t feel for you the things I feel now.”
I was pleasantly surprised to find this book was just as good, if not better than the first! I feel even more connected with the characters, while I watched the storyline unravel. I laughed and cried, and tense up in fear for what was coming next. It is a heart wrenching, nail biting, and nerve racking story! It is simply amazing! (And yes, I’m still dreaming about James!)
Sign me up for the last book when it comes out, this Trilogy is amazing!
Awakened by Anna Applegate is the second book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. I loved this amazing addition to the series! I felt so many emotions in this book! I laughed and cried in the same hour of reading! Anna Applegate wrote her characters to be realistic in a supernatural world! I love the World she created!
Awakened is the second book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy by Anna Applegate. It is a fantastic paranormal romance. This book is the second in the series and I highly suggest reading them in the correct sequence to get the most out of the story. I don’t recommend reading this as a standalone, as it is a continuing story. I did feel really bad for Ariya, but her being what she is and having a such a rare ability that will cause many to come after her.
Awakened by Anna Applegate

This is part two in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. After having survived part one, Ariya is in for another adventure in this book. An even more powerful evil is after her and this time it hits a little too close to home for her protectors. James realizes that there may be a mole in the organization of the protectors so any information he has on this new situation he keeps between Nick, Caroline and himself. Ariya is not only physically in danger but mentally as well. Her enemy is manipulative and plays with her emotions and her grasp on reality. James is desperate and calls on higher powers for help saving Ariya this time. He realizes he’ll never survive without her.
This book was filled with action from beginning to end. I felt Ariya’s helplessness in my bones. I felt so bad for her. The story was really exciting and kept me riveted to my seat. It ends on a kind of cliffhanger where nothing is resolved. I am now anxiously waiting for part three.
Awakened Book 2 in the Ariya Adams Trilogy by Anna Applegate

So the a story picks back up and everyone is happy. But how long can happiness last when everyone seems to be after you. No one is safe even the protectors. War was on the horizon and it seemed that Ariya would be left to wait. We learn some new things about James and meet some interesting people. You could feel Ariya’s frustration over not being able to help. I liked that the author showed the growth of all the characters. As the story keeps going the pieces are starting to follow into place.

Awakened is the second book in the Ariya Adams trilogy by Anna Applegate. Awakened picks up right where the first novel left off and flows very well. I’ve really enjoyed how unique this series is and how it contains a little bit of everything, vampires, dangerous suspense and character development. I like Ariya and exploring her new reality alongside her. The ending of book 2 melt my heart a little bit and I’m really looking to see what more Ariya’s story has in store.
Awakened
By Anna Applegate
Awakened is book two by Anna Applegate in the Ariya Adams Trilogy, recommended for those 18 plus due to sexual scenes and some violence. Awakened for me is another five-star read. This book picks up perfectly from where book one Protected finished. Awakened has all the romance, suspense and mystery that we had in Protected. We have some twists and turns in this book, and if its even possible book two is better than book one. I say this because as the storyline moves forward things just get better. As with any series I would highly recommend you start with book one, so you get some background history on the characters. But on saying that I do feel you will be able to read this book as a standalone.
“Awakened” (book 2 Ariya Adam Trilogy) written by Anna Applegate was a good story which followed nicely with the first book. The author made a smooth connection between books so that the author could pick up this book and just continue reading as if there was no break in the story. A well written story. I loved the cover as I did with the first cover. The story definitely had the paranormal element going on along with romance and suspense to spice things up. The author used this story to write more detail about the history of the vampires and werewolves that Ariya has to face with Mr. Sexy James watching over her. As a reader, you have to feel for James because he has been Ariya’s protector but feels deeply for her in a romantic way! Questions arise whether they can handle the relationship?! Ariya still has questions about what power she discovered in the first story! Feeling overwhelmed by everything going on. It’s not everyday or everyone that has the same power as Ariya. While reading this story I experienced lots of emotions! I found the book to be a must read only after the first book. I am giving the story 5 stars.
This is the second book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy from Anna Applegate. This was a great follow up to Protected! Awakened has that formula of suspense, romance, comedy, and adventure that hooked me in Protected.
Throughout the book, I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath, and often yelling at my kindle and telling everyone to go away. Yes, it was that good. I couldn’t put it down.
My heart broke for Ariya time and time again. However, seeing the way she grew and changed without losing her core was incredibly touching and always made me smile even when my eyes had tears in them.
The love between Ariya and James in this book was amazing. They are such a great couple and proved once and for all that love can overcome anything. I think that’s my favorite thing about Anna Applegate’s books. They show us that love (for friends, lovers, or yourself) will always conquer adversity.
Now Aubrey what can I say but that woman makes me want to smack someone, but I won’t. I’m not going to give spoilers, but I bet that after you’re done with this book you’ll agree with me.
Overall, Awakened is an amazing continuation of Ariya’s story, and I’m looking forward to its third installment. Don’t take my word for it get a copy today for yourself. Happy Reading

This is the second book in the Ariya Adams series. This book had me up , down and all around. I found it to be jam-packed full of action and suspense that kept me on my toes. I absolutely love the characters in this story especially Ariya and her gang of friends. I particularly love Ariya’s best friend, Caroline. In this book, we found out more about Ariya’s lineage, and the threat to her and her friends. I cannot wait to read more about Ariya, her friends, and the threat.
Awakened is the second book in the Ariya Adams trilogy by Anna Applegate. I recommend reading the first book in the series first because this is a continuation of the story. I think that a lot of the story and the development would be lost by not having read the first book.
This book picks up from the first book and is even better than the first book. The characters have grown and the writing is more adult level versus young adult. Ariya has grown a lot and has become a stronger character thus making her more interesting. There also more in the development between Ariya and James, her protector.
This book series has a little bit of everything. There are werewolves, vampires, witches, and other supernatural. There is suspense, thrills, twists and turns and romance. The book is a fun read and I think it is worth picking up the series for something new.
The series keeps getting better! Awakened (Book 2 in the Ariya Adams Trilogy) (Volume 2) is a paranormal/romance. Ariya still can’t believe that the world she’s in ever existed. Let’s just say she’s adjusting to it. It doesn’t help that she still wants her Protector. James bad, but he’s not willing to be in a relationship with her. This puts their close bond in a precarious position.
Herself and her friends are in danger once again and Ariya is forced to make decisions that will completely alter their lives forever. Can she do what she needs to do and still maintain her friendships? Will James ever look at her like a woman than as someone he has to protect?
These characters in this book are so great! As you read you will be reintroduced to familiar characters that feel like old friends and find new ones along the way. I love that Amma Applegate can write with characters that even though they are the bad guys, you still kind of like them. This book had me from the first page and took me on a rollercoaster ride right to the end. I am eagerly waiting to read the next book in this series.

Book 2
Anna Applegate
This is book 2 in the trilogy and if you enjoy paranormal fantasy they this is right up your alley, however I highly recommend you start with book one Protected.
Awakened carries on from book one, which is great considering how it ended. This is so much more fast paced than book one and story just flows from page to page and it’s extremely hard to put down. The pages are still filled with drama, werewolves, vampires and something more which I’m not going to spoil.
Make sure you have book three at hand and ready to dive right in after book two.
Amazing work and writing style Anna, suited for YA readers.

Since finishing the first book in this series I have been really looking forward to starting this one and I wasn’t disappointed! It carries on from the first book so these books should definitely be read in order!
Oh my gosh! Ariya! What is going on with this girl!! Just when you think everything is going well another fabulous twist comes along for her! The whole way through I was wondering whether or not she could or would cope with everything that was being thrown at her but there is one thing with Ariya – her strength and determination! She is such a strong character and a great female lead for this series. I love her and James together but Ariya just keeps putting up road blocks along the way! I do desperately want them to be together though!
As with the first book this one has left me wanting more and I can’t wait to dive straight in to the third book in this series for more from these great characters and more wonderful writing from this fantastic author!
An absolutely fantastic book, a great sequel to the first book in the Ariya Adams series. Although important things are explained, I would recommend reading the first book in the series – Protected – before his one. This is because in the first book we are able to really get to know the characters and therefore there is familiarity when beginning the second book because the reader already knows the characters and their history well. Although this book falls between two others, the narrative was still exciting, thrilling and unpredictable! We see Ariya go through some difficult experiences which deal with very realistic consequences in terms of her mental health and this is executed sensitively and successfully. Again, the use of the first person is brilliant because the reader is able to understand why Ariya does what she does (especially in regards to her and James’ relationship) however sometimes I would have liked to have seen James’ perspective of some issues and so I would have loved a shift in perspective. However, overall I really enjoyed this book, I was captured throughout, I couldn’t stop reading and I am already reading the third book!
Awakened is the second novel in the Ariya Adams series by Anna Applegate. This is my second novel by this author.
Ariya is still adjusted to her new world. As well as her attraction to her Protector, James, who hesitates to progress their relationship further.
“It’s not just James that is a vampire either, Caroline and her boyfriend Nick are also vampires. The three of them are part of a select group, designated to protect members of a bloodline endowed with the ability to heal vampires who have been staked. Yep, along with discovering that vampires, werewolves, and warlocks exist, I also discovered I was part of this bloodline. I was a descendant of a long line of innocents who were watched over until they either had a child of their own and turned, or had a child of their own and remained human without the gift of healing. I wasn’t thrilled at the having a child part of the equation, but I wasn’t known for being much of a rule-follower in this new life. So for now, I could relax.“
When a threat arrives, Ariya will have to make decisions to protect those she loves. Will she able to keep her friends safe?
I really enjoyed the progression of the story with the characters and as well the new threat they all have to deal with. I felt Ariya mature more based on what she had to do in order to keep people safe even if meant endangering herself in the process.
I look forward to seeing how this series ends.
