Traumatized by her past, and struggling to move on from it, Sera has spent the past three years of college hiding herself from the world and content to stay that way. A chance encounter with Liam shatters her sheltered world, leaving her stunned and shaken by the strange feelings and emotions he arises in her, feelings she never thought she would experience and that frighten her in their … intensity. Harboring a dark and deadly secret of his own, Liam knows that he should stay away from Sera; that he will only bring her more hurt, but he is irresistibly drawn to her and unable to deny himself the pleasure that only she can bring to him. But when their pasts collide with their present, and Liam’s true nature is revealed, will their love for each other be enough, or will they be torn apart forever?

This book is one of my favorites to go back and reread. I love how Sera is trying to reestablish herself at a new college and she instantly comes on to Liam’s radar but he is hiding a secret of his own. He tries hard to fight his attraction to Sera because it could be not only dangerous to her but his brothers as well. Once Sera discovers Liam’s secret she decides its something she can live with but it definitely has put her in danger so they have to fight and hope they come out of this alive.
So I listened to this one for free on Audible. It was surprisingly good, actually.
I think the whole 20-year-old vampire Liam falling for a fellow college student is a little odd, though. Usually, the vampire in these paranormal romances are MUCH older and that’s a huge part of the draw. A 700 year old powerful vampire falls in love with a special, kick-ass heroine who is much weaker than him as a human. And he loves and respects her anyway.
Here, both main characters are in college, not even old enough to drink. Including the vampire. It just feels like this could have been any new adult romance and all the vampire stuff was thrown in.
That’s not to say it was bad. It wasn’t. I was engaged with the story and characters. I just think it could have been better.
Reading as fast as I can through this series! I’ve lost so much sleep because I can’t put it down!
I loved the book. I love the author and the other books she writes. I’ve read all to this series.
This is by far my absolute favourite vampire and paranormal series. I loved Liam and Sera. It was easy for me to relate to her pain and struggles. And Liam was everything I crave in the main character in romance books and real life. This was an almost instant love story that was truly believable due to their paranormal existence. I felt her fear and her ability to still trust people in her life. I felt their passion. My favorite paranormal stories are those with fated mates. I really wish that part existed for real. I’ll say again, I love love love this book!
Love at first sight or soulmates. A beautiful vampire romance. Liam and his friends are proof that you don’t need to be blood-related to be family. They are proud of their friendship and love for each other. They are so fun and entertaining.
Sara has been through a lot, and she’s been traumatized because of it. She’s lost, friends and family. She’s doing a fantastic job of getting her life back. She’s surviving by keeping herself away and focus on her grades and her new girlfriends that love her.
Things start to change once Liam enters her life. He helps heal her tortured soul with his love and understanding. There is something about her that makes him feel things he doesn’t want to feel. She is the only one to make him feel alive. Sizzling and emotional. Their love draws you in immediately.
I can’t tell you how much I love author Brenda K Davies stories. She’s excellent at making you as you continue reading. Liam & Sara are a great couple that loves and cherishes each other.
Sera is in her final year of college and rooms with one of her friends Kathleen. She never goes home anymore because of a tragedy that occurred in high school with a boy. At a frat party, she meets Liam and cannot get him off her mind. Liam is a vampire and so are his friends. They are going to college and enjoying their time. He sees Sera and approaches her. He spends time with her and starts acting out of sorts. He loses interest in other females and feels very possessive and protectful over Sera. As they continue with the relationship, both their pasts come forth putting lives on the line~ Liam is out of control and has no understanding of what is happening! One of his other friend’s David explains what is happening and what needs to occur to solve it! Will they be able to overcome all the enemies? Who will die and survive? This is a great start to a series that will leave you rooted to your seat! I received this as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sera has had a traumatizing past and refuses to let the walls down she built when it comes to dating. Yet Liam worms his way in and breaks down her walls . Falling in love with one the hottest guys in campus comes with secrets and a past. While becoming friends with Liam ‘s friends her friends start to worry about her and one friend show her true colors
Liam made rules no-one will ever learn whom they are not commit to a relationship with a human. Yet Sera pulls him like no other has and his need to keep her is strong with help from his friends he will learn there is more to being an immortal .
Good book I enjoyed it can’t wait to read rest of series
This book should have been an easy read, but it was sadly written a bit poorly, making it hard to follow at times, otherwise a good book. Definitely seems to be more of an adolescent-targeted type, and there wasn’t too much suspense, things just sort of happened and resolved instantly. Also a very cliche vampire book, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
3.5 Stars
Negatives & Positives
I liked it for the most part. I only found a couple of minor editing errors. My biggest problem was the characters maturity levels seem a bit younger than their age to me. The main female and her friends should be about 21. Possibly even 22. They all have 3 years of college behind them. A lot of their actions makes me think of them like they are fresh out of high school.
The romance is mostly sweet and the sex between Liam & Sere is steamy. It is also filled with a lot of emotion.
There is a bit of suspense, angst, drama, violence and an HEA.
Although this wasn’t quite up to my speed, mature adults between the ages 17 to late 20’s would most likely love it.
This is my 2nd read of this story and I already have the other 2 books downloaded in a bundle. I will eventually read book 2. Hopefully that one will be more my speed.

Awakening, #1-3)
was a little too juvenile for me
I loved reading the whole series! It’s a very good read! Just got the 8th book and can’t wait to read it!
Loved everything about this story. I read stories 1-3 . Loved them all. I couldn’t stop reading it. Definitely will read more than once.
Cute vampire romance, that had some action and good characters. I think this could have been more on some of the characters but the main characters were solid. If you want to read a steamy vampire romance do read this.

Was the first time reading a book by this author. Liam loves Sera and once they make love and he takes her virginity he become very possessive of her. He loves Sera so much he protects her an provides emotional support for her lack of self confidence. He is always their for her. Once Sera finds out that Liam is a Vampire she too is very supported of him. The love they show each other just shines throughout the story. Their are some wonderful characters in the book like Kathleen and Danielle Sera’s two best friends. Liam has four best friends in the story Doug, Jack, Mike and David. These guys were childhood friends and finding out how they all became vampires was diffidently a new twist for paranormal stories. We have villains too Beth who was the maker of Liam and his friends, Jacob, and Michelle who was suppose to be a friend to Sera. The story is very balanced from beginning to end beautifully written with depth of characters, believable conversations, even the environment; you could picture yourself their in the story with these people.
I love love all the characters in this book. You must read the ENTIRE series!
Loved it
This is a must read. I couldn’t put it down. I loved every page.
“I never thought that I could love anyone like I love you. I never thought that I would meet a person like you. I didn’t think they existed.”
In the past Sera suffered alone, betrayed by people she thought would stand by her side, people she trusted, cared for and loved. Meeting Liam stirs up emotions she thought she would never feel and vice versa. The passion between those two was deep and unconditional. The need, the want, the desire, the intensity, the protectiveness, the possessiveness, the tenderness, the love and the trust. Sera and Liam found that within each other despite Liam’s true nature. Because when you love someone you take the good along with the bad. I have to say I really enjoyed the mythology in this book, with what Liam is and what it meant for someone like her to be part of his world.
