Suspenseful and sexy, you’ll want to get caught in this surge!
This book is full of suspense and romance you just can’t help but love it.
Liam & Bells go WAY back, but when things get mixed up they are separated and never speak to or see each other again…until now.
Bellamy is on the run from her past & present and the one place she knows to go where she knows she will be safe is BearPaw Resort. Only she doesn’t expect to run into Liam, even though his family owns the resort.
Liam lost Bells once before, and he has no intention on letting her go again. No matter what or who tries to take her away from him.
Avalanche makes you feel like you are truly part of cold day on the mountain. This book was hard to put down and in parts you felt like you could hardly read fast enough. Yes is would recommend this book
You get sucked into the story and feel like you are there.
The book really did make it hard to put down. I loved it so much I had to buy and start reading the next in the series. Of course, there are things left undone so you have to go on to see what unfolds next. Have to love the main characters and feel for them in their tragic moments.
Really Great Read that has a bit of suspense and a cute love story. I always love the way this author has her characters fall so deeply, they were consumed with one another. Liam and Bellamy met when they were teens at BearPaw and they discovered young love that got away. Bellamy is on the run now and she heads to the only place she ever really felt loved and safe. Liam is now a ski instructor due to him hurting his knee and ending his Olympic career.
These two are just so swoony, It’s a fast and powerful love that Liam refuses to let getaway.
Oh my gosh! WHY have I waited so long to read this beauty?
I’ve read a few Cambria books and I’ve always been hooked but this one, this one was so much more than I ever expected.
Bellamy is an incredible person. She’s running from something that happened in her past. She’s always nervous and always looking around and waiting for something to happen but even through all that the things she goes through is terrible. She’s strong and doesn’t give up no matter what.
Liam is a pro, an Olympic medalist and after an accident he’s back in Bearpaw where his family are at. This man went through a rough time and came out stronger.
The story between these two is intriguing, I absolutely loved reading about them and I’m excited to see where book 2 goes
Cambria always manages to write books that blow my damn mind, wow.
Avalanche is a suspenseful romance packed with Angst and love that’ll leave you needing more.
If you’ve been with us for a while, you probably are already aware of my love of the Hashtag series. When I saw Cambria Hebert was releasing a new book, I jumped on it.
Don’t mind if I do.
I opened it up this morning and finished it in one setting. I was that enthralled by the plot. Unfortunately, I was not that taken with the characters. The romance felt rushed. This is technically a “second-chance” romance, but their first try didn’t feel real to me. I mean, she was 16! I just have a hard time believing someone met their soulmate at 16 and never found love again.
Suspending my disbelief about their romance, this story was still pretty great. Slight cliffhanger ending, with just the right amount of suspense. Looking forward to Bellamy and Liam’s conclusion!
I loved Liam and Bellamy. So much. Oh, and Charlie and Alex too! What more is there to say, really?
Great book
Well Charlie is my favorite, Alex in close second. I loved the story. I haven’t read any books about pro snowboarders so this popped that little cherry. At times the two MCs were a little to attached to each other but I didn’t care.
I fell for these two just like I did in with the Hashtag series. I have Blizzard download but I might wait till FrostBite is out just in case of the horrid cliffhanger. Hopefully there’s not a cliffhanger but I don’t want to wait a week from now if there is. I’m waiting on enough books as it is.
Everyone who knows me knows I love small mountain towns. I am originally from Colorado so mixing the two made me love the setting of the story. I wish there was more detail on what her dad did but that might be in the next books.
Why is it the dad always involved in the bad stuff? *sigh*
When I learned that Cambria Hebert was coming out with a new book called Avalanche, I was super excited. I’m not a huge fan of snow, I never have been, but, for whatever the reason, the idea of her creating a book centered around characters at a ski resort had me really giddy. From the very beginning the idea of these characters and their setting drew me in. As I was reading it was also really neat to learn that it was set in Colorado, a place that my husband is obsessed with and where we plan to eventually end up.
I really hoped, before going in, that I was going to enjoy this story and the characters. I’ve already expressed my love of the name and setting but that was nothing compared to how I felt about the cover. I loved the clean simplicity of it and the dog. I’ve always been a cat person but, for some reason, I feel myself slowly becoming a dog person and I just wanna snuggle that doggo up.
When I actually got the chance to dig into the story, I fell in love almost immediately. There’s just something about BearPaw Resort that has my attention and won’t let it go. I even purchased a sticker of the BearPaw logo so that I could put it on my car! 😛
Avalanche, right off the bat, is full of crime and action and suspense. I love Cambria’s stories because she does so well with suspenseful romance and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. I’ve never been huge into mobster stories but Bellamy’s situation sold me on this book. Second chance romance is also a new trope for this author and it was nice to see her venture into new territory.
As much love as I have for this book, there were also a few things that I wasn’t crazy about. So let’s start with the characters. I did feel at times that Liam was a little overbearing. I know the overprotective, she’s mine mentality has been wildly popular in the last few years and I’ve always been a sucker for it. But I do think that I’m starting to grow out of that characteristic in fictional males and found myself, a few times, wishing that Liam would take a chill pill.
I think my biggest issue with the book overall, was editing. It’s, unfortunately, something that sticks out to me hardcore in books. Misspelled words and typos always catch my eye when reading other people’s writing (why can’t it stick out when I read my own writing?? lol) and this book did have quite a few. I feel like if editing was slowed down slightly and a few extra minutes or eyes were added, these things would be an easy catch. Considering I love Cambria’s characters and stories, this is an easy thing for me to ignore, but I do believe there should be much less typos and misspelled words in a finished novel.
I don’t want to leave a negative note, however. Despite those couple of issues, Avalanche really is a great story and I have no doubts that you will fall in love with Bellamy and Liam.
Rating: 4 Stars.
It was good. I really liked how the beginning started, it drew me right in. It was fast paced and I’m looking forward to the next one.
Ready to get caught in the Blizzard
Blizzard is so consuming. I didn’t want to put it down and I didn’t want it to end. It’s so suspenseful and emotional.
Cambria did an excellent job with the characters. She always manages to make the best friendships. Liam and Alex are so perfect on their bromance. They remind me of Rome and B, but they are totally different. They love and the loyalty that they have for each other is infectious, and you just cant help but fall in love with them.
Bellamy and Alex’s friendship is just as awesome. That Insta loyalty Alex has for her, just because of Liam, is jealousy inducing. But, I love Alex just as much as Liam and Bellamy.
So let’s talk about Liam and Bellamy. Everything about them is perfect, even the fact that Bellamy has people trying to kill her. That just adds to the story. Liam’s devotion to her is so heartwarming. He’ll do anything for her, and he does. He gives her something so hasn’t had in forever. He gives her the feeling of not being alone. Something she so desperately needed.
I was super emotional with all that was going on with Ren. It hit close to home. However, I was glad the way his story played out. I dont know if I would have been able to emotionally handle that if it went the other way.
All around Blizzard was everything and so much more than I expected. Again another 5 star read from Hebert!
Avalanche is the perfect title for the beginning of Bellamy and Liam’s story. Not only because it’s something that can occur on one of the slopes at BearPaw Resort, but also because both Bellamy and Liam’s lives have seemed to tumble and rapidly slide downhill since they parted ways eight years ago – Bellamy due to witnessing something that puts her life in danger and Liam due to an injury that sidelines him and forces him to head back home.
And just like the danger that exists during an avalanche, that’s what surrounds Bellamy’s life, and because she seeks refuge in the only place she’s found comfort, she brings that danger along with her, which forces Bellamy to not only confront an 8 year heartache due to Liam’s presence but also to learn to trust again because if she doesn’t have someone watching her back, she may not make it out alive.
Boy how I’ve missed Cambria Hebert’s writing and characters! It’s been a bit since I’ve read a Hebert story, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to sign up for Avalanche’s book tour because it embodies all the romantic suspense qualities that I’ve come to, not only expect but adore, from Hebert.
Both Bellamy & Liam are such complex characters who continue to develop as they work through their past and what that means for their future. And even though both characters are overwhelmed with having each other back in their lives and perhaps having a second chance to get things right between them, what they must do is learn to trust one another again and find a way to keep safe while people are searching to silence Bellamy forever.
Avalanche is just the start of everything that happens to Bellamy & Liam as they reconnect and run for their lives, and I can’t wait to see where Hebert takes the storyline as well as her characters, and because readers are privy to both Bellamy and Liam’s perspective, we truly get to understand their thoughts, their fears, and their plan to protect one another and the second chance they have to be together.
Such a fantastic start! I’m dying to continue Bellamy & Liam’s story!
4.5 Poison Apples
Holy smokes!! This series is kicked off with a bang and I could not put it down. Cambria Hebert gives us a brilliant and unique story of snow, hitmen, and past loves. I honestly loved Bellamy so so much. She was a gutsy girl who just wanted to live and took a chance going somewhere she probably shouldn’t have but could not stay away. Then you have Liam. I adored Liam and how fierce he was with Bellamy. He refused to back down and rolled with every punch that came their way. Figuratively and literally! The concept alone was amazing but then you have this past romance with still lingering passions and feelings, I could not put this down. I found myself slack jawed reading it because of how it flowed and how brilliant the overall story was.
Overall, this is a one of a kind, epic story that is an amazing start to a new series. I found myself dying to know more. What will happen next in the series? I am not sure but I am so excited to find out! If you love a great romance with some epic intrigue, then look no farther than Avalanche! It will blow you down and sweep you off your feet!
Avalanche is one of Cambria Hebert’s greatest books. Her writing is flawless, the story is captivating. Filled with suspense, passion, and love so pure you feel it coming right off the pages. Avalanche is a roller coaster of a ride that I never wanted to get off. This book completely took over my world when I started reading. I couldn’t put it down. I had to know what happened next!
Liam and Bellamy are magnificent. Not since Romeo and Rimmel have I fallen so fast and hard in love with a couple. Both of them are strong people in very different ways. Each surviving their own struggles in their years apart when these two come back together the chemistry is immediate. Sweetness and love swirl together perfectly with edge of your seat suspense and I’m dying for more!
4.5 stars
Wow what a rollercoaster ride of adrenaline, suspense, and emotions!! Right off the bat, this book throws you in the deep end of action and suspense. If it were a movie, it would be a ‘don’t blink or you’ll miss something’ type.
Then, in the middle it slows down and dips a little. Which at first I didn’t think I was crazy about, because I love my suspense to stay high. But this is a romance, and we needed the time for Bellamy and Liam to reconnect. And wow did they ever! Chemistry oozing off the pages, angst from reconnecting with “the one who got away”, and sweetness as they fall all over again (or maybe they never fell out of love).
Back to the highest peak on the rollercoaster, and warp speed to the end. So heart pounding, wondering what’s going to happen as everything catches up to them and threatens to ruin what they are building.
I love CH’s writing style, it’s just so easy and natural to read, you can get fully absorbed in the story. Characters are always so well developed, and easy to fall in love with. Although I think I might have liked to know a little more of the B&L backstory. This was amazing, with great dialogue, beautiful romance, and all the adrenaline rush of a rollercoaster…there were even a few loops thrown in there 😉
I love Cambria’s books. I started reading her books around a year ago and now I love reading all of her books. Avalanche is another one of her great books. Her characters are great and they are the cutest characters. Bellamy and Liam are cute and their story is not perfect, which is what in my opinion makes it even better. The story line is wonderful and it keeps you hooked and want to keep reading. I cannot wait to see what else the BearPaw Resort series has in store.
