From the bestselling author of The Convenient Groom and A December Bride (now beloved Hallmark Original movies) comes the third and final novel in the Bluebell Inn series! When a mysterious man turns up at Grace’s family-run inn, it’s instant attraction. But she’s already got a lot on her plate: running the Bluebell Inn, getting Blue Ridge Outfitters off the ground, and coping with a childhood … childhood event she’d thought was long past.
A gunshot wound has resurrected the past for secret service agent Wyatt Jennings, and a mandatory leave of absence lands him in Bluebell, North Carolina. There he must try and come to grips with the crisis that altered his life forever.
Grace needs experience for her new outfitters business, so when Wyatt needs a mountain guide, she’s more than happy to step up to the plate. As their journey progresses, Grace soon has an elusive Wyatt opening up, and Wyatt is unwittingly drawn to Grace’s fresh outlook and sense of humor.
There’s no doubt the two have formed a special bond, but will Wyatt’s secrets bring Grace’s world crashing down? Or will those secrets end up healing them both?

I love the Bennett family. I am sad that the series is ending.
This is the book 3 of the Bluebell Inn series. Am absolute, swooning, sigh worthy, lip-biting book. I’ve followed the Bennett family from book 1 and I am sad their stories have to end. This is a perfect conclusion to the series.
This book was one of the most beautiful illustrations of God’s care and healing. I had tears in my eyes while reading some parts of the story. I enjoyed every bit of it.
I fell in love with Wyatt!! He was absolute darling. I loved the mystery about him. My heart broke for Wyatt and all he went though. But it was remarkable how he made a life for himself through it all. Then to meet with Grace when he was reeling and she trying to make her way in the world was beautiful. Young and passionate bes describes Grace Bennett. I loved how she took on life; calm, purposeful, and with so much drive and success.
I enjoyed getting snipets of Levi, Mia, Molly and Adam’s story.
This book will warm your heart to your toes. The story, the characters… pure thrill. It is a stand alone book and doesn’t necessarily have to be read in order.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.
I’ve loved this series and don’t want it to end. But, since it must, I can say Hunter has done a fabulous job with the finale. I’ve liked Grace from the start, and have been anxious to see how her story would unfold. And what an intriguing story it is. I thought this installment was darker, and the subject matter heavier, but it really did show what Grace overcame to be the spunky, adventure loving gal she is. I liked Wyatt Jennings and the transformation he had. He was a good man with a good heart, who needed closure in order to move forward. Together he and Grace set out to unravel a mystery that interweaves their lives, and in the process find a love they hadn’t been looking for. There are plenty of lighthearted moments with the other Bennett siblings, and Levi’s wedding to Mia Emerson is a sweet diversion. For me, Autumn Skies was about finding what’s important and overcoming the bad things that can happen to us in life. They may change us, and we may never be the same, but we can learn to see the beauty God has placed in our lives if we trust in who He is. I wish we didn’t have to say goodbye to these characters, but it’s a bang-up conclusion that I think you’ll be pleased with. Hunter consistently writes stellar books and this one is another five-star for sure. I received a complimentary copy of this book and the opinions expressed in this review are my own. Just as an FYI, I pre-ordered the book long before I knew I would receive the ARC through Netgalley, and I look forward to adding it to my Denise Hunter collection.
As with all of Denise Hunter’s books, this one was absolutely wonderful. Truly, I have never been disappointed when I pick up one of her books. Her characters always weave their way into my heart, her plot always holds my attention, and the romance always makes me sigh. Absolute perfection.
This latest book, Autumn Skies, is the final installment in Hunter’s Bluebell Inn Romance. Here, we enter the story of Grace and Wyatt, characters who are trying to come to grips with the past in order to move forward to the future. With soul searching twists and turns and enough tension to hold you captive, Hunter delivers a story that guarantees you will fall in love.
You will not want to miss this novel, nor any of Hunter’s books. Not only are they excellent romances, they are stories to encourage, challenge, and offer hope.
I received this book from NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
Where to begin??? I loved every page of this novel! This is the third and final book in the Bluebell Inn series and the perfect way to bring the collection to an end. Wyatt and Grace’s stories, both individually and together, were amazing. Chemistry, tenderness, tension, action, and sweet faith elements made this the perfect read.
After finishing the book I was reading, prior to this one, that I was not able to be involved in, beginning Autumn Skies was such a blessing! It felt like I was in my favorite chair with a nice cozy blanket and a warm cup of tea and just settled in for a visit with a longtime friend. Denise Hunter has recently become one of my favorite authors. I love her writing style and the messages I receive from her books that can be applied to my life.
I have read the two prior books in this series, and now the third and final book. I love every one! Each book can be read independently of the others, but reading the entire series will bring you the fuller story and I recommend doing that.
I think this book holds a special place in my heart, since I really like the powerful message that flows throughout the story of letting go of guilt about a situation you had no control of and forgiving others. Denise Hunter’s books bring messages of God’s love in our lives, without being preachy.
Her characters are so like-life, full of flaws and great qualities. One of the things I like best is that they get along, forgiving each other and maintain a strong bond. This plot is very believable and I was so engrossed in the story. This was absolutely a page-turner for me. The two main characters are certainly meant to be together and it was a pleasure to read their story. I also enjoyed coming back to the Bluebell Inn and spending more time in this wonderful place.
I want to thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson–FICTION for giving me the pleasure of reading the complimentary advance reader copy. Opinions expressed in my review are completely my own, not influenced by receiving the ARC.
Denise Hunter has become one of my favorite go-to authors for contemporary romance fiction—with beautifully descriptive settings, affable characters with real-life problems, and storylines that reach the deepest recesses of my heart.
‘Autumn Skies’ focuses mainly on the youngest sibling in the Bennett family, 21-year-old Grace. Totally living up to her name, Grace is a gracious, compassionate, ambitious heroine, who surprised me with her maturity at such a young age. She lets nothing distract her from her life’s goals, nothing that is until the smoking hot, secret service agent walks into her family-run inn. Although there is spontaneous combustion between Grace and the enigmatic Wyatt, both are harboring long-buried secrets that will either make them or break them. The chemistry between these two fairly leapt off the pages and I found myself blushing a few times and grabbing a fan. lol
Hunter tackles some really tough, deep subjects such as panic attacks, guilt, and PTSD symptoms—and as always, there is a spiritual vein throughout the story. ‘Autumn Skies’ will work as a stand-alone novel and is the perfect conclusion to this amazing series. I bid these wonderful characters a fond adieu…they shall be sorely missed.

‘Don’t play the what-if game, Grace. You’ll lose every time.’
Denise Hunter has saved the very best for last in her Bluebell Inn Romance series. I loved Grace at the first novel and knew she had a wonderful story to tell and she did! Grace, the youngest of the siblings who own the Bluebell Inn and the one with the most heartache, in my opinion.
When Wyatt Jennings walks through the inn’s door looking for a place to stay because he’s been put on mandatory leave on his secret service job, he is looking for a way to come to peace with a disturbing and painful episode in his past. He finds Grace at the check in desk. She offers to give him guided hiking tours to find what he hopes will be the answer to that past experience. However, there is a connection to both their fears from the past. Can they work past it and come to a peaceful solution? God does indeed use the painful parts of our past to work things out for our good.
I loved everything about this. One thing that makes a book real to me is when I can connect to the characters from the start. And this happened with both Wyatt and Grace. Hunter handles the situations in their life with grace (no pun intended) and love. I shed a few tears here, too. I loved every single minute. Truly, she saved the best for last. Bravo! Recommended.

Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter.
This is the third book in the BlueBell Inn series.
I have been seeing this book title on Goodreads, Facebook and Instagram. I was so pleased to get a copy from the publisher, Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Thank you so much!
Wyatt Jennings. I like the name and the personality given to this character.
I have seen mention of this author’s name everywhere online. I am so proud to read one of her many works.
I love Grace. Grace and Wyatt are the protagonists in this plot. There are other secondary characters you can’t help liking.
Themes of peace, freedom from guilt, family, friendship and many more were explored in this book.
Guilt has a way of burdening the victim’s shoulders but when peace comes in, the person becomes so free. I learnt that in this book, Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter.
Although I haven’t read the Two books in the series, I felt comfortable reading Autumn Skies although I will recommend you read the first two books which are Lake Season and Carolina Breeze to follow some of the characters that were mentioned in Autumn Skies.
I received a complimentary Copy of this book from Thomas Nelson publishers through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are mine.
I am giving it 4 stars.
In this final installment of the saga of the Bluebell Inn and the Bennett siblings—Molly, Levi, and Grace—Ms. Hunter with her expert storytelling skills has penned Grace’s emotionally rich, heartwarming, romantic story. Grace and Wyatt both need to come to grips with events in their pasts which haunt them with survivor’s guilt. Will revelations from their pasts and goals for their futures bring them together for healing and happiness or keep them apart?
Ms. Hunter excels in bringing her characters to life making them believable and relatable. The intriguing, fast-paced, faith-filled plot keeps you turning pages to find out how all the pieces fit together. Vivid descriptive imagery takes you to the scene and adds to the enjoyment of the read. Examples:
“…the frayed edges of night still clung to the woods…”.
“…he was wearing regret this morning like a neon suit.”
“Whereas Grace was like a balmy summer evening, her sister was like a whirlwind. And her brother a sudden storm front.”
Autumn Skies is a very satisfying ending to a beautiful, captivating, inspirational series, and I highly recommend it.
I received a copy of this book in e-book form from the publisher via netgalley but am under no obligation to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Captivates and delights:
Get comfy because once you start reading this book you won’t want to put it down! This story takes place 2 years after the close of the last one and whilst it could theoretically be read as a standalone, I would highly recommend reading the previous two as they provide context and insight, plus they are just fabulous.
I loved discovering Grace’s story, which was more complex than I had been expecting. Wyatt has come to Bluebell to find closure regarding a family tragedy that occurred when he was a boy and in the course of investigating inexplicably finds a link to Grace’s own traumatic event that still haunts her. I really liked the mystery and elements of intrigue and I was dying to find out how the pieces would all fit together.
This was a sweet love story and I really liked how you could totally feel the chemistry and connection between Wyatt and Grace. I loved the ending and found it to be a satisfying conclusion to a wonderful series. I’m going to miss Bluebell and these siblings!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
An extremely satisfying, romantic conclusion to Denise Hunter’s Bluebell Inn series! I’m going to miss these characters and this town, but readers will love Grace and Wyatt’s story.
Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. Grace and Wyatt’s journey was emotionally draining in the best way, and although there wasn’t very much action, this story seemed to have a bit more suspense than some of Hunter’s other books. The plot is a bit predictable, but Hunter has an amazing way with words and a unique storytelling ability that entrances and inspires the reader.
Autumn Skies is inspirational, romantic, and touching, perfect for any reader. Fans of authors like Becky Wade will not want to miss this lovely small-town romance. 4.5/5 stars
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
“He gave a lazy smile that made her think of sultry summer evenings and moonlit kisses.”
Autumn Skies is a perfectly satisfying conclusion to Denise Hunter’s Bluebell Inn series. Denise Hunter has been one of my favorite contemporary romance authors for years, and she continues to create amazing stories with handsome swoon-worthy heroes and beautiful messages of faith that consistently find a place among her readers’ favorites.
A handsome, confident, and humble Secret Service agent meets a young innkeeper starting up her own outfitter business. Both Wyatt and Grace have traumatic issues from their past and guilt from their experiences when an opportunity for love and healing presents itself unexpectedly.
This book can be easily be read as a standalone, but you will want to go back and read the first two books in the series to find out more about this wonderful family. I love how Grace’s older siblings Molly and Levi continue to play a role in Autumn Skies.
Autumn Skies is highly recommended for fans of contemporary romance, especially readers who have enjoyed books by authors such as Courtney Walsh and Becky Wade.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
“You don’t have to do anything to prove your value. You’re worthy just as you are – just as God made you.”
Loved this third installment from Bluebell Inn. Autumn Skies works well as a standalone novel, but I’d highly recommend the whole series. Grace and Wyatt are great characters and their romance is beautiful to watch.
In this final book of the Bluebell Inn trilogy, we read Grace and Wyatt’s story. Both are dealing with survivor’s guilt, trying to move forward with life. This is an heartwarming story of recognizing and moving past that guilt, of learning to lower those walls to allow another person in, to love. Touching, very emotional, a wonderful wrap-up of the Bennett siblings and their journeys to their happily ever afters. I’ve enjoyed these visits to Bluebell – a wonderful series!
Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter is the third book in the Bluebell Inn Romance series. It is awesome. I found myself looking up at the clock and realized I had been reading for hours. This book features the youngest sibling, Grace. She is young but very mature for her age and she finds herself very attracted to their newest guest at their inn. He is a handsome Alpha male type, but yet super sweet and attentive too. There is definitely romance, but a bit of mystery as well. The kisses were toe curling and the ending was perfect.
*I was given a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson and this is my honest opinion.
After reading the first two books in this series, I looked forward to the final one, and I really enjoyed it. You could read it by itself, but you’ll enjoy it more if you’ve already read Lake Season and Carolina Breeze before you read this one.
I loved the setting, the characters, the mystery subplot, and the swoon-worthy romance. Each sibling’s romance is different enough that it was fun to see how Grace’s would turn out. I appreciate that the characters have to mature and learn new things as the book progresses. This is not a shallow, flighty story – there’s good depth in emotional and spiritual ways. And of course, there are plot twists to make things interesting.
