Another sultry New Adult Romance from USA Today Bestseller Author Alexa Padgett. From the moment I see Kate Grace, I can’t wait to find out if what they say about redheads is true… Not only are her wild ringlets entrancing, she’s sweet and sassy, with slower, sexier curves than a Texas back road. Too bad she’s also country music star Camden Grace’s baby sister. Camden holds my chance at a … baby sister. Camden holds my chance at a comeback in his hands, and he doesn’t want me—or my bad attitude—anywhere near Kate.
I don’t have time for all these thoughts about Kate, anyway. I must focus on my son’s future. I failed him once, but I’ll do anything to prove how much I love him. Anything.
Even if that means giving up my dreams of a music career and another chance to kiss Kate’s soft, luscious lips. Ike comes first. I promised, and my word is my vow. I’ll never, ever break it.
Yes, even if I have to give up a chance to work with the biggest names in the music industry, and even if I have to walk away from the only woman I’ll ever love…

I enjoyed this story! It’s a nice addition to the “Austin After Dark” stories. This is a beautifully written and nicely developed story. I love the characters. Rye and Kate are great together and for each other. With undeniable chemistry. They have issues but one little boy seems to bring them together. Really loved the story!! It’s a very captivating read I could not put down until the wonderful ending.
Next in the series it’s the little sister’s turn. Grace meets Rye at practice for brother Cam’s concert. She has trust issues. He loves music but hasn’t always been there for his son. They must work past their mistakes to get their HEA. Well written and edited. I received an ARC copy for an honest review.
Love and sacrifice, the bind between father and child, the facades others see and the realities we are. Powerful stuff but perfectly presented in Alexa Padgett’s Austin by Morning (An Austin After Dark Book Book 3). I loved Rye and Kate’s story. Perfectly told. Perfectly casted lead and supporting characters (special mention for the superbly done Cameron). Perfectly written plot. Perfectly enjoyable. This is great stuff and easy to highly recommend.
The moment Rye and Kate saw each other they were drawn to watch other. His voice and the song he was singing caught her attention and when he looked into her eyes he knew that this woman was different from all others. But Rye had other priorities, his son Ike was born with a degenerating eye disease and he needed to get the money for an operation before he completely loose his sight. And in order to do so he has to give up on his singing career and take over the family business. Will he and Kate be able to hold onto their love or will the lies keep them apart? This is a story of second chances, forgiveness and a parent’s love for their child. Also of coming of age and realizing that our parents are not perfect and do the best they can. A good solid read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Out of all the Grace’s stories, I liked this one least. Not to say that it was bad, but I found Kate and Rye’s chemistry and connection to be a bit forced and rushed. The story seemed to move pretty fast when it comes to the timeline of the things they were thrown at. However, I did enjoy Ike’s character and his interactions with the others. 3.5 stars
Rye has made a lot of mistakes in his past buy now he is focused in helping with his son Ike’s medical issues, even putting him before his music. Kate is struggling with all the pain from her family’s lies. When they meet the connection is powerful. But can they see past their fear, their past demons and find real happiness and love? A powerful story about love, trust and forgiviness
