Another sultry New Adult Romance from USA Today Bestseller Author Alexa Padgett. From the moment I see Kate Grace, I can’t wait to find out if what they say about redheads is true… Not only are her wild ringlets entrancing, she’s sweet and sassy, with slower, sexier curves than a Texas back road. Too bad she’s also country music star Camden Grace’s baby sister. Camden holds my chance at a … baby sister. Camden holds my chance at a comeback in his hands, and he doesn’t want me—or my bad attitude—anywhere near Kate.
I don’t have time for all these thoughts about Kate, anyway. I must focus on my son’s future. I failed him once, but I’ll do anything to prove how much I love him. Anything.
Even if that means giving up my dreams of a music career and another chance to kiss Kate’s soft, luscious lips. Ike comes first. I promised, and my word is my vow. I’ll never, ever break it.
Yes, even if I have to give up a chance to work with the biggest names in the music industry, and even if I have to walk away from the only woman I’ll ever love…

Thoroughly Enjoyable Read
Gosh, a myriad emotions were wrought from me after reading Ms. Padgett’s latest novel. It just brought to mind how we never truly know what one person is going through or what causes them to act in certain ways. Once we delve a little deeper into a person’s situation or how they are acting, it is amazing to find out what people are really going through or thinking. The addage of don’t judge a book by it’s cover is so true for this angst-filled book. Good story, characterizations and overall enjoyable read.

Austin by Morning by Alexa Padgett
Sometimes the Hero we need is a bit battered. Kate Grace is still reeling from her father’s death and the ugly secrets that have come to light. In the shadow of her brother’s fame Kate enjoys working behind the scenes. Until the magic of Rye’s voice washes over her. The instant attraction is a surprise to both of them. But Rye is not ready for a new love, even as he rescues Kate in a dire moment. Rye has his own issues and traumas to deal with, all revolving his young son. Kate and Rye’s story is not just about them, but about opening your heart to new possibilities, learning to trust that love and commitment is strong enough to encompass problems and challenges that come. Rye’s son Ian is such a special figure in this story. He reminded me so much of my youngest child and some of her challenges. Ian has such a perfect heart, and is such a wonderful character to bring all of the elements, emotions together. I cried at the sweetness, the perfect imperfections of these characters. I will definitely read this book again. I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kate has had a hard time of it recently and while taking some guitars to her brother Cam she hears someone singing and she feels it deep down into her soul. While she was walking to her car she was attacked. Rye felt something inside him come to life when he first spotted Kate but he has a son Ike who has special needs and he is not in a position to offer anyone to be part of his life. When he sees Kate being attacked he goes over and deals with her attacker even though he has a knife Rye risks his own life to save Kate. Omg this book was so emotional in places that I found myself in tears. Will they both get a chance at a relationship or is there too much going on in both of there lives. I have read nearly every book of Alexa’s as she is an amazing author and talented writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy Of This Amazing Book.
After reading the preview of this in Broken Rose of Texas the second book in the Austin series I was hooked and it seems to be have been such a long wait, but boy was it worth it! Rye is to be the opening act for Kate’s famous brother Cameron Grace. Cam doesn’t have much time for him not knowing that Rye is trying his best to care for Ike his special needs son Ike, believing him to be unreliable. Cam soon changes his mind when Rye is involved in saving his sister from an attack by one of his roadies.
Right from the beginning the chemistry between Kate and Rye was off the charts and why not, who wouldn’t be hot for a sexy Viking rockstar! But it is never going to be easy for these two, they both come with lots of baggage. Kate feels like an outsider in her family after a big secret is recently revealed. Rye’s marriage failed and now his main priority has to be his son who needs expensive eye surgery. Despite their problems their attraction cannot be denied but can they overcome their mistrust and find happiness together.
Amazing characters, especially the adorable Ike who is wise beyond his five years and who you can’t help but fall in love with. Rye who is willing to give up his own happiness and singing career so his son can have a better life and Kate who wants someone to love and to love her so much.
A wonderful end to this trilogy that I will be reading more than once. Don’t miss this and the whole series, this is Alexa at her best.
I loved this story! Kate is sooo determined to fight for what she wants
But also has sooo many insecurities to get through as does Rye. This showed that love doesn’t always take a straight path. But that Road is so worth it if you take the chance! And what an adorable, precious little boy that is Ike. This was a great read

Austin By Morning is such a sweet romance with all the warm fuzzies. Rye, a single father with custody of a special needs little boy named Ike, meets Kate following a sound check and practice for an upcoming concert. While their chemistry is off the charts, both Rye and Kate have past issues which cause large misunderstandings and hurt feelings. While each one tiptoe around sensitive subjects, both are guilty of drawing erroneous conclusions.
The author touches on several topics in our society: infidelty, bullying, adoption, and blended families. She shines light on these very real and oftentimes, painful subjects, and uses her characters to open one’s eyes to the damage that is inflicted from poor choices. However, through the demonstration of love and compassion, the authors brings this novel to a wonderful HEA ending for her characters. 5 stars all the way!
I liked this book.
Angsty, new adult, Rye is in need of many second chances. He’s trying (so far unsuccessfully) to be a better dad to his son Ike.
Kate is the younger sister of Cam.
It’s instant attraction.
Steamy, angsty and of course, all bout the music.
And Ike.
Recommend.
HEARTFELT GRIPPING read!
Bursting with emotions as this gripping story shakes things up and refuses to let me go. Oh My poor heart. Alexa did an amazing job of bringing this story to life in great detail that grabbed hold of me from the start quickly taking up space in my heart making me feel and see every heartfelt word that makes this another fantastic read that I’m delighted to have read.
The storyline was so wonderfully written with well created characters that I was hooked from the very beginning! The chemistry between Austin and Kate kept me totally glued to my kindle until the very last page!
Rye Lawson gets a break in his career as the opening act for the wildly famous Cameron Grace. Too bad Cam sees Rye only as a jerk he can’t be bothered with. In Rye’s defense, he has a lot on his mind. He’s fighting to regain custody of his son from his difficult father-in-law, but Rye needs his career to take off in order to raise enough money for his son’s very necessary eye surgery. When Rye rescues Cam’s sister, Grace, from a roadie’s nefarious intentions, and then Cam overhears a telephone conversation between Rye and his son, he softens towards Rye.
Good thing, because after that whole rescuing thing, Rye and Kate have a chemistry that can no longer be ignored. Rye and Kate both have their share of issues that should dissuade them from being in a relationship, but then the adorable little Ike is added to the mix. Kate can’t resist Rye’s sweet son, and Ike is half in love with Kate at first glance.
This talented word slinger is one who won me over to the rock star trope, and this is one of my favorite series ever. I was eager to return to this amazing book world, and Rye and Kate’s story doesn’t disappoint. With heart, heat and a delicious amount of angst, this book is a perfect addition to the series, and you won’t want to miss it!
Heart-wrenching love-at-first-sight romance!
Despite being instantly drawn to each other, Rye and Kate both have a lot of baggage to unpack before either is ready for a relationship. Kate has some unresolved abandonment issues, and Rye shies away from any hint that someone wants to control his life.
But, oh, that chemistry! Whew! The way this story is written, there’s absolutely no chance of Kate and Rye walking away from what could be between them. I was blown away by the intensity of their romance, even knowing all damage that is going to happen once all the secrets are out. This was a completely absorbing story, one that I wanted to bask in forever.
I loved that the author didn’t take any emotional shortcuts, but made their HEA real and authentic. I loved the years-later epilogue that was so filled with love and hope. Honestly, I loved every aspect of this wonderful love story, and I highly recommend it, especially for country music fans. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Carrying a load of emotional turmoil after the fall-out from the past, Kate and Rye connect at a soul level that very few people reach. Kate’s brother Camden, has given Rye a chance to be his opening act at an upcoming concert, despite considering him a nightmare. However, when Rye jumps in and protects Kate from a roadie’s unwanted advance and after overhearing Rye’s telephone conversation with his son, Cam softens his attitude somewhat. Despite his attraction to Kate, Rye has vowed to avoid all romantic entanglements as his first priority is his son Ike and finding a way to give him the surgery he needs. Being a single father has its own difficulties and when faced with the obnoxious attitudes of his ex-wife and her father, Rye struggles to find a way to keep his son without bowing down to their demands. If that weren’t enough, his own father with his peremptory attitude makes it impossible for Rye to find help from that quarter. Much to Rye’s surprise, Kate falls in love with Ike and he, in turn, takes an immediate liking to Kate, bringing light and laughter into their lives. As Kate puts Ike first, Rye comes to realise that she may well be what they both need. However, they first have to push through the numerous barriers facing them in order to win the battle. This novel is emotional, heart-wrenching and romantic. It is also well-written and a standalone, and comes to a happy and joyful close. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
A Fantastic read. I love how the Author has brought the story to fruition. He is a music star but his son is his World. This story grabs you and keeps you enthralled and pulls at the heart strings its definitely an amazing story that is a real page turner. I definitely recommend this read. Its more than a 5 star read.

I loved this book. Kate and Rye were meant to be together. Ike was so adorable! I love books that really make me feel something and this one certainly checked that box. I couldn’t put it down. Just a magical book. All the books in this series are amazing, but I think this is my favorite! Buy it! You won’t be sorry! I received this book as an ARC for my review.
I loved Austin by Morning! It was a great addition to the series. Heart warming, and heart wrenching in equal parts. I love their HEA, and the little family they create together.
I love that I always learn something from these books. Whether it’s music types or health concerns, I always get more than just a fantastic love story. I love these characters and the writing.
This was a good read. Rye is trying yo make a comeback but is also trying to get help for his son. He meets Kate and is attracted to her. However, he doesn’t like to get involved because of his son. The good news is that she and his son get along really well. Therefore after the drama they are able to have a happy ending.
I really liked this book. The author hooked me in the first few pages. Kate Grace and Rye have an instant attraction to each other but face some pretty interesting challenges. Will they be able to make decisions that will enable them to Solve their problems and come together as a couple.
Alexa Padgett is a new author for me. I will definitely be reading more of her books!
