My blood is toxic to vampires . . .
If there’s one thing I want, it’s go get off this iceberg. I’m thinking college on the east coast. ANYWHERE besides Alaska.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents jump in and save my life in exchange for my services as a vampire hunter. Did they just say vampires? Yep. And they’re not the kind that sparkle. They’re rabid, … kind that sparkle. They’re rabid, disgusting, rude . . . and way too suave. Those are the ones I really have to watch out for.
˃˃˃ A knife isn’t my only weapon. My rare blood type sends vampires into temporary paralysis right before I have to finish the job by hand. Basically I’m a glorified chew toy.
Now I’m stuck with an overzealous partner, a group of suck junkies, and a maddening attraction to Mr. Joe Cool, dresses all in black, Fane Donado. I don’t know if I want to punch him or kiss him, but clearly he’s keeping secrets of his own.
˃˃˃ The old Aurora is gone forever. Destroyed in the wreckage. I don’t know who I am anymore, only that I suddenly have intense cravings and a V.I.P. pass into Alaska’s underworld.
If vampires found out who I worked for it would be lights out forever. In the meantime, I have some undead ass to kick so long as it doesn’t kick mine first.

One of my all-time favorite vampire books. The realism of Aurora Sky’s fictional life grabbed me and still hasn’t let me go years later.
I adore this series by fellow YA author Nikki Jefford Nikki Jefford . Aurora is a fierce heroine, who manages to be simultaneously strong and relatable. You’re going to love her! And if you get the chance to meet her author, you’ll see where Aurora gets her sparkle. Nikki is easily one of the kindest, most down-to-earth writers I’ve gotten to know …
I almost stopped reading, the beginning felt like I was reading from the juvenile group. Once I got into the book it was definitely a page turner.
Great story
Aurora Sky is a unique story about a high school vampire hunter. I really enjoyed this series and the world the author built around how vampires interact with humans, and how Aurora became a hunter.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. There were tense moments as well as funny ones. Aurora’s character is really fun. She turns from …
For a Young adult teen fantasy about vampires, this book is pretty good. Jefford does a good job of dumping you into Aurora’s world and letting you figure things as she is. She’s in the dark as to what is happening, and so are you.
The book is darker and more violent than expected. Her first encounter with a vampire is a nicely done bit of …
I enjoyed this whole series and the original spin on the old and loved vampires. Great character growth for Aurora too. This series has stuck with me for years
I could not finish it. It was dry as toast. Where was the action? So much information about what kind of were, what kind of animal everyone is. Plus who cares when I was looking forward to the vamps? After all it is in the title. It was more a were novel, and not much to do with the vamps. If weres are your thing this is for you. I could not read …
Not a very good main character. For a hero she sure didn’t do much without someone else helping. I kept thinking it would get better…..
Gross, depressing, and distasteful
This had an interesting premise, but the main character was too whiney and unsympathetic, and the story too predictable. I didn’t care for it.
5 stars for Aurora Sky by Nikki Jefford. This is book 1 in the Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter series. Right now I have a horrible book hangover from staying up reading. I could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. I will say this is a young adult book in every way. The concept of how vampires came to be makes it different from every other …
