The big day has finally arrived for Cold Case Captain Kevin Fitzgibbon. He and his fiancé, Jace Lincoln, are getting married in a lavish wedding high atop Boston. Making their special day even more remarkable is a rare appearance by the Northern Lights. The happy couple has said, “I do,” taken hundreds of pictures, and shared their first dance. All is well, until Kevin’s phone rings with news of … of a mass casualty shooting event a block from their wedding venue. With the suspect still at large, Kevin’s duty as a police officer takes precedence over his long-awaited wedding reception.
Newlywed, Jace Lincoln can’t help feeling like the appearance of the Aurora Borealis is a harbinger of bad things to come. He can’t believe his new husband is leaving him in the middle of their reception, but knows this is what he signed up for as the husband of police captain. Jace sends Kevin off with his blessing and a kiss, praying he won’t go from husband to widower in the same day.
Events take an even more unexpected turn when Kevin’s search for the armed suspect leads him to find something truly astonishing: a newborn baby girl left abandoned in a dumpster. In that moment of heartbreaking magic, Fitzgibbon knows he was meant to fight for this tiny soul.
As the fight to save the baby girl begins, the prediction made months before by Madam Aurora begins to take shape. Fitzgibbon can only hope that he and Jace are ready for the battle to come.

Wow. Pandora sure packed a lot into this little story. My heart ached for Aurora and was so glad Jace and Kevin had the whole Crew of awesome to support them all. I was glad that the opposition from the relatives was kept civil and simple so the focus could be on assimilating Aurora into the family. Watching Jace and Kevin become fathers and seeing them commit to one another and being there for Aurora no matter what was a growing moment for both of them in different ways.
While Jace still isn’t my favorite, he’s growing on me as we see him become less selfish. I think I had one idea of him from his care of the LGBTQ+ youth at his shelter. His role there led me to believe he was someone he consistently has issues being when it comes to the most important person/people in his life. He is that person, to some degree, but it’s when it directly involves his own life that he becomes reactionary, petty, immature, and juvenile. His determination to be a good partner to Kevin and father to Aurora shows us the less selfish, more empathetic, more mature side of him we know is in there. I have hope. I think he has great potential and I’m interested to see him develop as the Cold Case series progresses.

Another wonderful story from Pandora!!
This story includes all you’d come to expect from Pandora and so much more. She did great justice in the continuation of Jace and Fitz’s story and finding their missing link.
I loved the whole story from start to finish. How Kevin found his Aurora was perfectly fitting to his character and life as a cop. He story was weaved wonderfully and they adapt so well to their new lives as a newly married couple, family of four and new parents.
I love the West SIde Magic crew and how they are always there for each other. They are the perfect made family and I loved seeing them all rally around Fitz and Jace throughout this journey. I also loved the special bonus appearance of Lennox and Greyson! They’re some of my favorite characters and I’m so glad we got more of Lennox Scottish humor (and lack of tacked LOL)
I loved this story and how their family was completed. I’m saddened to know what might happen next and we might not get to see as much of “Captain” Fitzgibbon anymore but I thought this was the perfect conclusion to their story for now
Thanks, Pandora for sharing these characters with us!!!

**********Contains Spoilers**********
I’m glad we finally got the to see Cap and Jace get married, as it’s definitely been a rollercoaster ride to make it to their happily ever after. Their wedding was beautiful but basically as soon as they’ve said their vows multiple phones go off and Cap answers his as he knows something serious has gone down. there’s been a mass shooting, 10 people are dead and the shooter is still at large. Jace isn’t happy that Cap is leaving their wedding as well as multiple guests to help capture the gunman which is totally understandable, as Cap had just finished saying in his vows that Jace would come before his job, and then he leaves. While hunting for the gunman Cap hears a noise in a dumpster but looks and there doesn’t seem to be anything in there but as he’s about to walk away he hears a cry and digs around and finds a baby, that’s tiny, naked and freezing so he rings 911 to get it help.
Meanwhile Jace is panicking that he hasn’t heard from Cap yet and gets a call from the hospital that Cap is there and that he should come down but doesn’t get anymore information, so he’s worried that Cap is either injured or dead. Greeley, Ten, Carson & Jace’s best friend go to the hospital with him so he’s not along. On the way to the hospital Jace ask Ten if he can see anything but Ten tells him that he can’t because the Aurora borealis is messing with their gifts. Jace gets annoyed and lashes out at Ten but Ten understands the reason why. Jace pulls the curtain back expecting the worst, but Cap in lying on the bed without a shirt on holding a baby on his chest for Kangaroo time. Cap tries to explain that the baby is their Aurora but Jace is completely overwhelmed and faints. It doesn’t take long for Jace to come to terms and accept Aurora into their family even though Aurora was born an addict due to her mother doing drugs while pregnant. Jace went from thinking Cap was dead, to being told that a baby that was left in a dumpster is theirs, he was also worried about getting their hopes up since legally she isn’t theirs yet. Man all I can say is both Cap and Jace are the types of parents everyone needs but not everyone is that lucky.
Greeley is going to make an awesome big brother to Aurora as they can relate to each other since Aurora was born and addict and Greeley became an addict to cope with what he’d been through. Hopefully we get Greeley’s story as he so deserves a happily ever after with everything he’s been through, he deserves someone to unconditionally love him. I just love this whole extended family/friends group, they love and support each other through everything, total friend/family goals. I’d recommend this book, series and author to anyone.
