When Lori’s plans for a second honeymoon to England with her workaholic husband fall through, she begrudgingly takes along her father-in-law who promptly disappears, leaving behind a mysterious note. Inspired and guided by the ghost of Aunt Dimity and her inimitable blue journal, Lori’s search for the elderly gentleman turns into a harrowing mission to uncover a centuries-old family secret complicated by mistaken identities, falsified deeds, family feuds, and Lori’s unseemly attraction to her husband’s beguiling English cousin. In a delightful chase that takes her all over the English countryside, Lori discovers the true meaning of marital bliss, and Nancy Atherton’s fans, new and old, will savor a masterpiece of old-fashioned fun.

This series continues to delight me, I’m not sure what took me so long to discover it!
The Aunt Dimity Books are a delight.
I just loved it. I will read all Aunt Dimity books I can find for my nook book.
Marriage in trouble, mysterious family in England, Willis Sr missing! What a ride! The main characters are very endearing, the plot is easily followed throughout the twists and turns of a great mystery and the story is very good! I cannot believe I took so long to start this series, yet had collected most of it over the years. I am still six books short of 22! I cannot recommend this book or the series, highly enough!
I enjoyed reading the series of books. They are the kind of book you can pick up and read and know right where you are; no trying to remember who is who, you just settle down to a good read.
An enjoyable, easy read with an interesting storyline. Did have a problem with the young age of one of the characters involved in solving the mystery but other than that I’m ready for the next book in the series!
I love all the Aunt Dimity books. They are like taking a vacation.
Such a great series! Always a life lesson at the end. Leaves you with good vibes.
Delightful! A funny, whimsical read that leaves the reader pleased.
I have loved all of the Aunt Dimity’s books and recommend them to all my friends and family.
Aunt Dimity has good adventures without getting too close to gruesome or vicious experiences.
Fun, entertaining and I often find myself laughing out loud at Lori and the situations she gets into.
You can never go wrong with Aunt Dimity on your side. Such a fun read and you get to solve a mystery while enjoying this great series.
Love all Aunt Dimity books!!
Good book
It was a good read. My only problem I was slightly confused at times. Also the main character was not identified by name until page 47 so that was difficult for me.
Aunt Dimity never disappoints
The Aunt Dimity series is a winner! You can pick any of the books up and read straight through to the end or keep it in your bag and have a great book handy that you can return to over many visits.
The characters and locations are beautifully described and I can always imagine myself right amidst the village action or London’s vibrant hustle and bustle.
I began reading these years ago, slowed down during grad school and now am back full time! You will love these if you give any one of them a chance.
I’ve read, and loved the entire Aunt Dimity series. I can “see” the setting in my mind & the characters are wonderfully written. Great, interesting, inventive stories with a twist of whimsy.
I first read Aunt Dimity’s death and I have read many of the following. However, they are too expensive to read if they are not on sale. I have not found one so far that I did not like. The characters have flaws which they seem to be able to rise above. Worth the read.
