The debut that kicked off twenty-two books (and counting…) of the bestselling, beloved Aunt Dimity series. Watch out for Nancy Atherton’s latest, Aunt Dimity and the King’s Ransom, coming in July 2018 from Viking!Lori Shepherd thought Aunt Dimity was just a character in a bedtime story……Until the Dickensian law firm of Willis & Willis summons her to a reading of the woman’s will. … reading of the woman’s will. Down-on-her-luck Lori learns she’s about to inherit a siazable estate–if she can discover the secret hidden in a treasure trove of letters in Dimity’s English country cottage. What begins as a fairy tale becomes a mystery–and a ghost story–in an improbably cozy setting, as Aunt Dimity’s indominable spirit leads Lori on an otherworldly quest to discover how, in this life, true love can conquer all.

This was one of my most favorite reads in a long time. So light, fun and enough mystery that I couldn’t put it down. I’m definitely looking for more books in the series.
Thank you Nancy for delightful characters in places you made easy to visualize.
I love the series. I’ve read every book. Always entertaining
A fun cozy mystery.
I loved all the Aunt Dimity Books!!
new to me author but will certainly look for more of her books. What a fun read!
The characters those living, those not, a stuffed bunny and the small village are all truly ‘characters’ whose quirks range from irritating to endearing. Enjoy this series so much, I wish the author could write in her sleep.
a good read
This book had me smiling, crying, and unable to put the book down. I was so sad when this book came to an end.
I really enjoyed the characters and the settings used in this first book. It makes me want to see what will happen next with all the characters involved! Very enjoyable reading.
Loved all of the books in this series. Great, original, well written escapism. Highly enjoyable!
This was a fast read. Hard to put down, felt like you were on an adventure with the characters. Was only disappointed when the book ended, had to buy the next book to continue the adventure the Dimity.
A friendly, cozy mystery with a likable heroine
A mystery, a pink stuffed bunny with a grape-juice stain, and a journal that allows a ghost to communicate with her niece-in-spirit, and romance — who could ask for more? The most brief, most effective recommendation that I can offer is that I caught up with this series in a binge-read over a few weeks, and I get each new one as it comes out. Nothing short of brilliantly cozy, evocative of place (including “down under,” where I’ll be visiting soon), and wonderfully told. Superlative series that NEVER disappoints. Long may Aunt Dimity… erm, live…?
I loved this book. I have read this book already 5 times along with the rest of the series. Can’t recommend it enough. Love it!!!!

Fun read and interesting characters.
A favorite series!
I love the Aunt Dimity book series. They’re sweet and clever and almost always a fascinating dollop of WWII British history. You will want to move to the Cotswold village and meet all the delightful residents.
Very easy to read and enjoyable. I like this series
