I’m glad I read this first before the rest. It gives the background to the characters for future reading
The writing is exceptionally lyrical. It invites you in and sort of traps you there in its beauty. Great story and characters. Plot is intriguing. Try to plan time to finish it in one go as that is what you will want to do.
FIRST BOOK IN A DELIGHTFUL COZY SERIES
I love all the Aunt Dimity books. They are fun
Love these books
Aunt Dimity never disappoints!
A fun read!
Aunt Dimity’s Death is actually a good read for a depressed person, because it’s actually a sweet story.
Lori’s hit bottom with disasters in her life when she is informed that her mother’s long time friend has left Lori her entire estate—her substantial estate, complete with her cottage in a small English village.
Things change for the much better.
A thoroughly charming and delightful book. I look forward to reading the sequels. It was kind of like a fairy tale for adults.
Beware! This is an addictive series-the characters are endearing and thee ate even a few very good recipes!
From the first book in this series I loved it. The writing is “magical”. I wish I had an Aunt DImity
I really enjoy reading the Aunt Dimity series. Ms. Atherton does a great job with the characters and story development. Good read!
This book is so fun! I was expecting it to be more haunting and scary with the title, but it’s actually the coziest mystery. Her aunt helps her out from beyond the grave, and she has a cute guy that aggravates her. I’ve read a couple of books in this series, and I like all of them! Really fun reads.
I love the idea of Aunt Dimity.
All these books are well written, and the characters are good people.
I’ve read the whole series and they’re all great! I keep looking for the next one!
Lori Shepherd’s childhood memories are turned upside down when she learns that her mother’s bedtime stories were based on a real person. Having lost her mother unexpectedly, and now learning that Aunt Dimity, a character she loved, has also died Lori struggles to understand everything she is learning about her mother’s life.
This is the first book in a series featuring Aunt Dimity. This series has been around for over 20 years and I have just discovered it. From the moment Lori arrived at Willis & Willis I found myself deeply engaged in her story. The writing is descriptive and I found myself unable to stop reading. The characters in the series are realistic and well-developed. The story begins in Boston and ends in a small village in England. I was drawn to Dimity’s Cottage in England and the surrounding area. This storyline moves at a lovely pace and is never rushed. I am looking forward to reading the next book. I can’t wait to see how the arc unfolds.
This is the opening to one of my favorite series.
I loved this book it was so much fun! Things can turn out just wonderful!
I have read and reread the Aunt Dimity series. They are my “keep forever” books!
