The beloved Aunt Dimity returns in this delightful follow-up to the book that launched the Aunt Dimity series. Watch out for Nancy Atherton’s latest, Aunt Dimity and the King’s Ransom, coming in July 2018 from Viking!Emma Porter is forty, fat, frumpy, and a passionate amateur gardener. When her longtime lover dumps her for a younger woman, Emma escapes the cloying sympathy of family and friends … sympathy of family and friends by setting out on a summer-long driving tour of England’s glorious gardens. A Dimity-contrived coincidence brings her to Penford Hall, a sprawling Gothic mansion in Cornwall, where she finds a duke in search of a missing lantern with extraordinary powers. Suspecting there’s more than one mystery to be solved at Penford Hall, Emma accepts the duke’s invitation to stay on and restore the once glorious chapel garden to its former beauty. The dark rumors surrounding a rock star and the near-death of the duke’s beautiful cousin confirm Emma’s suspicions, and set her–with Aunt Dimity’s ghostly guidance–on the path to Penford Hall’s secrets and the pleasure of unexpected love.

From the first book I fell in love with this series.I loved how this author has pulled all these wonderful characters together by way of Aunt Dimity. Makes me wish I had an Aunt Dimity.
I was disappointed that Aunt Dimity was not as active as she was but n the first book, Aunt Dimity is dead
I love this series – I love the ghost aspect and the great characters- I look forward to every installment
Dreamlike and uplifting
Although not great literature I have enjoyed this series. Whenever I need a quick, entertaining book to read that keeps my attention but doesn’t require deep focus I can always count on this series.
I adore the Aunt Dimity series – always a fun read!
I love all the books in the Aunt Dimity series. I have a personal strong faith in a life after this one, and a belief that those who have preceded us continue to be interested in us and our welfare. In this series of mystery books, Aunt Dimity (who is dead) uses a journal to communicate with, & assist, the heroine of our stories in solving the various puzzles set before her as she tries to navigate life on a new continent.
The writing is delightful & witty; the mysteries are clever & puzzling; and the whole of it is well written & “spirited.”
All her books are fun reading and her characters are a delight.
I like a little paranormal fun with my books….
A great little Aunt Dimity read. Doesn’t really matter if you read them out of order either, as a stand alone or whether you catch up with the series later. A fun, witty, lightly suspenseful little book and a great getaway, if even for a few moments!
I love this series!
I love Aunt Dimity books, they are cozy and comforting.
I enjoyed it. Certainly gives one an opprtunity to think before making judgements.
Aunt Dimity stories are always so satisfying!
A fun book. Light enjoyable reading and wonderful characters.
I love Aunt Dimity books!
Loved the series even though this wasn’t my favorite. Still a good read!!!
Part of the Aunt Dimity back story (she is alive and not yet a ghost) and still working her comforting magic with her understanding of male/female/family love stories. My all time favorite with multiple love stories and interesting, intelligent characters.
Loved it! This is Emma and Derek’s story, and a perfect addition to the series.
When I want a quick and easy read it is hard to beat the Aunt Dimity series.
