I am a woman enjoying my “next 50 years” and it is hard to find good and interesting books with characters in this age group!
Thank you, Ruth Hay!
I appreciate a GOOD book with Strong women characters who meet the challenges of their lives during uncertain times. Ruth’s characters learn to find happiness, fulfilment and adventure in their lives. They still have LIFE and Purpose!
It is disappointing how few authors write GOOD story plots for women of a certain age group.
This author has delivered interesting books which are a pleasure to read…that is the sign of Success!
Inspiring for an older person
This was an easy read, you didn’t have to stay focused like in some books it was a nice story.
I liked enough to get anotheff dc from the author.
I could personally relate to this because many of the characters were also nearing retirement age. It made me question if I had that spirit of adventure in myself.
After an inheritance of property in another country from a relative she did not know exisisted, the main character sets out to go visit and view her inheritance to see what to do with it. She is a single woman. Her brother also received a cash inheritance from the same person, but the brother does not agree with her going so far to see the property. An attorney handling the estate works with her and together they piece together the life of the deceased woman and all find out things they did not know. The attorney sets her up with a female driver and they become good friends, helpful to each other.
Loved this book. Made me feel like I was in Scotland and going through what Anna was going through. So glad how you ended it.
I really liked Anna the main character, absolutely the kind of person I would enjoy having as a friend.
enjoyed
Loved this book and have found a new favorite author.
A wonderful story about Anna who lived an interesting life trying to find out about her family. Couldn’t stop reading.
I was not sure where this story was headed but a wonderful tale of empowerment.
This is one of the slowest books I’ve ever read. I fell asleep reading it. She inherited a house in Ireland and it took many chapters with meaningless details to establish that she should visit it. I stopped after getting a whole chapter of touring Dublin. I stopped after reading 50% of the book and have no interest in the finish.
Loved this book! One of the best I have read recently.
I didn’t finish it.
Very good . Read in 2 days. Hard to put down
Sometimes you just want to kick the heroine in the pants and tell her to get on with life. With more than a little help from her friends, she awakens her adventurous spirit and opens herself to life!
Yes, your lifelong friends are always going to be important to you. But…what if you are offered an opportunity to try something totally new and a little frightening? This book offers the reader a chance to escape the day to day minutiae and experience an escape across the ocean. Maybe someone will find it okay to take a risk after reading this story.
I enjoyed this book because it was interesting, going through an exciting time in someone’s life, not perdictable. You almost felt like you were living her life with her and experiencing all she did.
Good, up lifting read.
