Very enjoyable read with quirky, likable characters & good story. Would like to read more of the “months” of this series.
I had a hard time getting “into” this book, but once I got over the oddball main character, the story pulled me in.
Very good story that makes you laugh along the way.
Enjoyed it tremendously!!
It is a very entertaining book, great job creating the characters.
I thought this was a good read. The main character of the story is a librarian and one night after being stood up, she decides she is tired of this town and there’s nothing for her here. She also writes for the local paper. As she gives her notice and starts looking for her replacement, new people come to town. Also, along the way, people in town “her friends”, start asking for her help. She starts to realize that maybe she does have reason to stay. And she is also wrapped up in an evil person’s web. A young teen that helps her at the library ends up murdered and lots of other strange things. And an older lady that works with her also runs around in a unitard at one point. She is absolutely necessary in this story. She brings lots of comedy with her. On to the next book.
Quick fun read with a little romance.
What a clever story with incredibly realistic characters! Can’t wait to read the rest!
The characters were wonderfully entertaining. The book kept me reading late into the evening, couldn’t put it down!
Good reading!
some language , religious content
Acceptable, but not great. A little bit predictable. Sort of a put-down on church folks. Some truth, some fiction.
Exciting read with interesting twists and turns.
not my style of snarky humor, this is the third time I have attempted to leave this review..
So, so – the main character got annoying after a while.
Loved it.
It’s sickening to read such prejudicial trash. It’s never okay to stereotype people because of race or gender, and the author doesn’t do that, but people of faith are still fair game to be “deserving” objects of disgust and ridicule. I know perhaps a thousand Christians, and not one of them resembles any member of the Mealy family in the least. To be politically correct in every way, stop stereotyping people who believe differently than you do.
While I did enjoy this book, I found almost no humor in it. I kept wondering what I was missing because it was not funny. Disappointing!
these characters are fairly hilarious and keep you moving through the book and laughing as you go. the story as a whole is great as well. oddball town indeed…
The author prejudices got in the way of a realistic plot. This was insulting to all but the most die hard hate mongers.
